"Recently Used" fonts causes crash...
Hello all,
I don't use iWeb all that much, but I went in today to do a quick page and found an issue.
Using iWeb 2.0.3 and OS 10.5.4.
If I build a page or select a previous page, and hit Command-T to manipulate fonts, choosing the "Recently Used" under "Collections" causes iWeb to crash every time.
First the beach ball, then boom.
System very clean, and almost zero addition al fonts, sans Office 2008.
Can anyone confirm this behavior on their Mac(s)?
I can reproduce always and even under different accounts.
Deleted iWeb pref's and deleted font caches with LinoType FontExplorer X and rebooted.
Same.

I have had exactly the same question. This is not an answer, but maybe part of the answer. In User - Library - FontCollections, there is a file called "com.apple.Recents.collection". If you take that out, Keynote no longer shows recently used fonts. However, it does not seem to generate a new com.apple.Recents.collection file, so that is not the solution. I found that the file can be opened with the program "Property List Editor" (part of the Development package), but it looks like a mess. I would really also like to know how to clear the recently used font collection and start over. Mine now has about 1000 entries, which make it worthless!

I've searched a lot but can't resolve this. I can't clear my recent used fonts on Pages '09. I'm not talking about the box opened with cmd+T, I'm talking about the dropbox next to the font size, bold, italic, etc.
I've tried to delete the com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist but it only clears the cmd+T box.
Could you guys help me?

or remove some fonts items.

Is there an option PS CS6 or CC to have recently used fonts or fonts in doc on top of font list? I find it maddening to have to open old documents and select fonts to see what I've used.

the top of my fonts menu?You're asking about a feature that has never been in InDesign, though it would be a good idea. I'd make a post in the Feature Requests section. It's possible that there may be a third-party plugin that does it, but I've never heard of it.

Font Panel - Recently Used Fonts
Hi, since another post with this same title is archived, I'm going to give this a bump. The issue is that the Recently Used fonts list on my machine is HUGE and completely useless since many of the items in the list appear to be blank. Is there a way to clear this list so it can start fresh? I've tried clearing the system font cache and it doesn't affect this list.

How to revise the recently used fonts?
Hi, I been wondering if I can edit the used fonts list in iwork 09.
Thanks!The list of recently used fonts is stored in the preferences file : com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
You may easily edit it with a plist editor.
I use Apple's PropertyList Editor which is part of the developer tools.
If you didn't install them, you may extract it from the installation package with a tool like Pacifist but it may be easier to go to my iDisk (address below) and download
Pref Setter.app.zip
Expand it and you will get a good editor allowing to do the trick.
It's the tool which I use under Lion.

Corel has it right when it comes to type (but not much else...)... select a type group and when you look through the font list a flyout with a sample comes up... is there a way to do this in Illustrator? because as of right now Illustrators font list setup is just awful... -

I start up my java process with using JIT,but JVM crash everytime!

Where are the recently used fonts?
Has this feature been hidden somewhere. It is tedious to constantly scroll through all my fonts just to select it each time.
I guess you are talking about Pages 5?

CS3 Find Font/Delete Paragraph Style/Redefine Paragraph Style Causes Crash
I am running into a very frustrating issue where I cannot replace a paragraph style. The issue is that we used to use some adobe type fonts and want to move to the true type equivalent so that we don't have problems working on files between mac and pc. The problem occurs on both mac and pc on a variety of hardware (both c86 and ppc macs for example). When we open the document it identifies that the font cannot be found (example Palatino T1). When we click find font and select the regular ttf Palatino replacement and click Change All Indesign just vanishes and leaves a crash message with a ton of garbage and a read only memory error. The same happens if we change the font on some text and right click on aragraph style and click "redefine style" - there is a sudden crash.
Trying to work around this I went into our templates and tried to change it there. Opening the paragraph style and selecting the new font caused it to crash upon selecting OK. Also trying to Make a new paragraph style works, but then when deleting the old one causes a crash no matter what combination of mapping or not mapping the old paragraph style we chose (we tried every option under the dialogue and selected several different styles to map to or none at all).
This occurs on several different fonts and on several different templates. I have tried deleting the adobe font cache to no avail. Any help resolving this would be great - all our employees are going nuts over this problem.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!Peter, your latest post led me to an interesting revelation. When I change Palatino (t1) bold to Palatino Bold using Find/Change it is fine. When I change Palatino (t1) to any font using Find/Change there is a curious result! As soon as I click find first the page changes to the default template and all content is hidden. The 4 or 5 places where palatino occurs on the default template change fine, but then on the next click of FIND FIRST it crashes! So the problem is connected to "find first", not the actual change. My guess is this is an issue of with how the find/change jumps from the template to the individual page, but I'm not sure exactly what is happening.

I was opening Illustrator in CS4 design standard. Odd too, because the error comes up with it showing missing plugins from Photoshop. I opened Photoshop first, then Illustrator to see if it changed anything. Yes, One of the two error messages for a plugin was gone.
To remove apps I went to the Adobe website to redownload my standard CS4 and chose "uninstall".. So I did. Restarts x 2 . Then Reopening illustrator...same thing again. Restarted, then went to Disky Utlity and cleaned up something off of it as per a internet suggestion...Sorry, it's been a long day alreay. Not me removing anything, just allowing it to do that with repairing.
The version of Mac OS is YOSEMITE 10.10.2 .
I recently updated!!! oooh nooooo! (every watch Mr. Bill on SNL?) so if the updated OS is the culprit, do I have to go back to older version for my apps to work? I never realized how very much I use Illustrator. I know there are extensions I could go through one at a time....seriously I am overwhelmed with some life events that make this computer dilema almost too much of a challenge for me at this time..I am truly grateful for your help. Two recent updates for my iPhone have caused crashes (down the white lead) via iTunes.
I have "fixed" but I don't know the cause?
Each time the update does n't complete.
The download does n't happen.
The computer & internet connection are good.
It is as if the Apple server does n't complete?
The phone stays in recovery mode, until you reset and rebuild in iTunes.
All software is up to date, but I can't find the cause
ANY IDEAS?

I hope someone can help me. My phone crashed after updating it to IOS 8.3. I can't use it cause its stucked on the start up menu, the apple logo with black background. Even when I restart my phone, it is still stuck on the start up menu, the black background with apple logo in the middle.Slone,
I finally decided to turn this annoyance into an opportunity. After a lot of experimenting I found that my iPad was just fine under 7.1 if I simply restored it as new. I have a lot of time on my hands and I had 1424 apps on my iPad! This is why every attempt to restore took so long.
I decided to restore as new, spend a day restoring the apps I really used. Doing so gave me a quick iPad with only bout a quarter of the storage used.
Granted it was a pain in the arse, but I wrote it off as in the old days when you had to do this with windows 95 just to keep a stable system.
I DO have some data in a few files of the now unused backup but a quick google search finds a couple Mac programs out there that will allow you go extract audio recordings, app data files etc. from the backup. I'll do that someday if I even miss the files I've probably forgotten that are there.
Anyway, there was nothing wrong with my hardware. I think there were just some troublesome setup items that 7.1 didn't like. Once set up as new, the ipad was fine.

After upgrade to 4.3.4 Calender and Notes are no longer synced
Hi everybody, after having updates to 4.3.4 this morning, my calender and notes are being ignored while synchronising. In either direction. What can I do? Thanks for any hint, cheers, Martin.

10g Preview: Deep Package Names
