Recently wiped HD and reinstalled everything; cannot find my apps in iTunes

After a terribly unpleasant mishap with my old OS; I was forced to wipe my harddrive and start from scratch. So, I repartitioned my drive, set up a dual-boot system with Ubuntu Linux and XP (XP pretty much purely to use iTunes to manage my iPhone 3G).
Since reinstalling iTunes, however, I no longer have a list of the Applications I own - not ones previously purchased on the app store, nor ones I've purchased since then. I had to authorize my computer again, and now iTunes reports two PC's being authorized. However, there is only the one. I'm not sure, but I suspect this could be related.
It seems iTunes feels this is a new, second computer. This is very inconvenient, however, because since the HD was wiped and everything reinstalled, I cannot go back and deauthorize.
Also, as I have no apps in iTunes (though my account on the app store does show my app purchases) I fear if I need to remove an app from my iphone for whatever reason, I'll have to purchase them again rather than just re-sync them.
Under Devices>iPhone>Applications, there are non listed in iTunes. Clicking "Sync Applications" warns that it will wipe the apps off my iPhone - clearly, not the way to go.
How can I fix this? How can I get my apps back into iTunes, and how can I deauthorize the original "computer" (which no longer exists)? Seems silly to permenantly lose an "authorization slot" (for lack of a better term) just because I repartitioned my hard drive.
Thanks!!

Thanks for the quick reply! Knowing I can simply un-authorize everything if needed (even if only once a year) is good; I just wanted to be sure those potential authorizations were not permanently lost.
In regards to the apps, I followed the advice in the article you linked, however, my results differ: My iTunes does not say I've already purchased the app, and says I will be charged. While I could download them all, get charged, and report each in turn, that seems to be a rather poor way to go about things... and will result in my wife and Keeper of The Credit Card Finances stabbing me with sharp pointy things.
Still, opening my Purchase History page in Account Information clearly lists each purchase.
The article you linked includes this:
If you normally sync applications to your device from one computer and then connect it to iTunes on another computer, iTunes will not attempt to sync applications from that library. Applications can only be synced from one iTunes library. If you are connected your iPhone or iPod touch to an iTunes library that you don't normally sync with, you can still transfer purchased applications from the device by choosing File > Transfer Purchases in iTunes.
Could it be that my account feels that my applications are being synced to my old installation (the one that no longer exists)? This would explain why my iTunes now doesn't even have an Applications tab under Library. If so, how could I resolve that?
Thanks again!

I recently upgraded to Mavericks and I now cannot find under the file menu the option to "Save As" in my Numbers application. Where did it go?

In many, many apps Apple has now created a confusing array of "save as..", "export", and "duplicate" all doing essentially the same thing - saving a new copy elsewhere possibly with format changes.  Drives me nuts.
But its always there.

Had corrupted (?) files and Genius Bar wiped HD and reinstalled all software.  Need my address book from Time Machine, but cannot allow whole time machine to get to my HD as the corrupted files are on it also.
They wiped HD 2 days ago and I came home and plugged in TM and immediately had corruption again, so had to return to Store for a 2nd erasure.  Now can't locate my Address book on TM.

• You badgered me into installing the latest Itunes and now I cannot find my music nor my podcasts. Where the **** are they?

I was badgered into installing the latest Itunes and now I cannot find my music nor my podcasts. Where the **** did they go and how can I get them back? You folks at Apple sure make it hard to like you or want to use your products.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't normally lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the main iTunes library folder (and subfolders if possible) from any real-time scanning process.

• Erasing Drive and Reinstalling Everything

I am about to erase my Macbook Pro's hard drive and reinstall everything. My question is this: I have all of the content from Logic (such as loops and whatnot) installed on an external drive. Do I need to erase this content and reinstall it? Or can I just reinstall Logic on my primary hard drive and somehow direct it to find the content on my external drive? Any help would be appreciated.
(Sorry for a noob question)

Well, I'm erasing my system drive because I'm having a lot of little problems since upgrading to 10.5 --- long blue screen at boot up, sluggish during operation, etc... I'm hoping that a clean install will solve the problems or at least mitigate them.

i bought an app in france via wi fi and ipad but know i cannot find it in my itunes account online? In addition, how do i transfer music from my ipad to itunes hence my disk drive was replaced. these were cds uploaded to my itunes which is gone and i need to restore my new itunes from my ipad.
regards,

If you have changed country on your account then I don't think that items bought whilst it was set to a different country will show (that appears to be what other people have posted).
In terms of your music, have you not got a backup of your content ? You computer's iTunes will only copy iTunes purchases back via File > Transfer Purchases.  You could see if the programs mentioned half-way down this page are any use : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Well, as I always say... If I want things done right, I have to do them myself.
I found the solution on the Internet... One must place your pointer on the icon that is presently showing and then press the letter "o" key to toggle between the Burn, Dodge, and Sponge tools.

• The Audio portion of my 30 pin slot on my iPhone stopped working for no known reason. I tried both resetting and reinstalling everything is there anything else I can do?

The Audio portion of the 30 pin slot on my iPhone 4 stopped working for no apparent reason. It neither powers on my JAM apogee and Tascam IUS interfaces or  feeds audio in and out of it. I have tried both resetting and reinstalling everything on the iPhone 4. Is there anything I can do to make the 30 pin slot to work again? The interfaces work fine on others devices and they used to work very well on the phone previously.
Thanks for any suggestions and help,

Hi shanny202.
Really strange problem you have there. I have a few questions though.
Please try again and try to make the phone as a new without restoringen with you iCloud-data or backup-data from iTunes. Maybe it is something wrong with the data (strange).
Anyway, i think you should call Apple Support or visit an Apple Store, don't forgot to make a Genius Bar reservation.
You locate the nearest Apple Store here: http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/

• HT4889 Trying to migrate from Mac-mini Tiger to Mac-mini Lion and Migration Assistant cannot find my Firewire, 400 to 800, "T" disk although it show up in the new Mac's computer folder. Help

Trying to migrate from Mac-mini Tiger to Mac-mini Lion and Migration Assistant cannot find my Firewire, 400 to 800, "T" disk although it shows up in the new Mac's computer folder. It seems that Mac-mini Tiger is as it should be and the firewire cable is OK.  Something about the Migration Assistant is being missed, but I have no idea what it is.
Help

Addendum: I read on a post here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=420169) about removing some kext files in order to trick OSX into thinking that there were no FireWire ports.
I followed the instructions and removed from /System/Library/Extensions/ the following files:
IOFireWireSerialBusProtocolTransport.kext
IOFireWireAVC.kext
IOFireWireFamily.kext
IOFireWireIP.kext
IOFireWireSBP2.kext
I restarted and BAM...Snow Leopard booted crazy fast and the mouse and keyboard worked instantly.
The System Profiler says "No FireWire ports were found."
So this tells me that the FW port is probably the culprit and is messing up the installation.
So how do I hack the Mountain Lion installer and tell it to ignore the FW port, which is obviously quite dead? Or is there something I can do to the Base system that is similar?
