Recessed Home Button on White iPod touch
I have a 2G iPod touch, and the home button on it is flush with the screen, on my new white ipod touch, the button seems a resessed alot.
Is this a manufacturing defect? Should I take it back to the Apple Store,

The home button on my iPod Touch is unresponsive
The home button on my iPod Touch is not working. Any app that I'm in, I can't get out of because when I press the home button, nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes." -

Is it possible to get the iPhone 5s home button on the iPod touch 5g
So I was looking at the iPhone 5s (which I don't plan to buy) and I notices that the home button was different from the one on the ipod touch5g and pre existing models. Is there a way that you can get the 5s home button on an iPod touch 5g because it looks really nice and kinda chrome.

The home button on my ipod touch 4th generation, that i have had for a year now, is jammed. When i go to click it to go to the home screen it doesnt push in. I am not sure how it happened because one moment i pressed it and it was fine and the next it somehow got jammed. I dont know whether i should just buy a new one or if i should send it in for repairs. The thing is that i dont want to send it in for repair and get it back to have the same thing keep happening to me. It has been starting to get slow and close out of apps randomly also. What should i do?

The Home button on my iPod Touch is very unresponsive. It takes several tries to activate it. While doing so, it responds to one click versus the intended two clicks and vice versa. It is a very frustrating process. Any suggestions? I already tried the "shut off" process that was suggested on the Apple site, but that did not help.

Since you are running iOS 5 you can always turn on Assistive Touch as well, which adds a Home button to the iPod's actual touch screen. Head to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch to turn it on.

The Home Button on my iPod Touch 5 isn't working. How do I fix it?
Hi! The Home Button on my iPod 5 isn't working. I just got it like maybe two months ago. I'm really mad about it to because it's brand new! I'm not to the point where I'm going to totally rip my iPod apart and fix it. And I know about the Assistive Touch or Acsessive Touch whatever it's called. I'm using it right now but it's just not the same! Please help!
I would take it to an apple retail store and have them look at it. It should definitely be under warranty

I need help!!
It's possible that Fiona doesn't know what you mean. I don't.
However, I wonder if you mean the small circle (that isn't metal) at the top of the screen.
That's a camera.
The only thing at the bottom of the iPod is the Home button - there's nothing underneath it. You can see in the picture, a recessed circle with a printed grey square inside it - the Home button.
(I have noticed that pictures of the 2nd gen Touch - which I own - do not show the small (also not metal) circle at the top left above the screen. It's a light sensor.)
So if your iPod does not look exactly like the one in the picture, can you post a picture of yours, with this small metal circle thing too? -
Faulty home button on 5G iPod touch?
I purchased a white 32GB fifth-gen iPod touch last January through Amazon. The home button has worked intermittently since. Sometimes it won't work for 5 minutes at a time, sometimes it works perfectly. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm thinking of returning it to the Apple Store, but I'm worried that it might be not qualifying for a replacement, especially since it's from Amazon.
As a side note, the headphone jack has gradually stopped working and I was wondering if this was happening with other units as well.Try:
