Which brand is THE best in rechargeable batteries for Magic Mouse AND last long ?

I've been using the Apple rechargables in my keyboards/mice/trackpads for over a year now.  They last 3-4 weeks in my usage pattern but I have spares ready to go when they get weak.

  • Rechargeable batteries with MuVO Micro N

I have recently got a MuVo Micro N200 and find it annoying having to keep buying new batteries to put in it do you know if i can use rechargeable batteries with them? And if so so they have to be a certain type? Thanks

Some people have had a problem using rechargeable batteries that are new. Search the forum. There are a few threads about this.

  • Rechargeable batteries and charger for mouse/keyboard?

Can any recommend a quality set of rechargeable batteries for the Mac Pro, and maybe even a charger of choice?
Perhaps something you have used and like?
    thanks

For the mouse, battery weight makes a BIG difference. It feels best with just one lithium battery installed. See if you can find rechargeable lithium batteries of the same voltage as the ones that came with the mouse.

  • Muvo N200 - Rechargeable batteri

Does anyone know if I can use rechargeable batteries (Ni-Mh) on Muvo N200?

Yes, although some users have had trouble using new nimh batteries. It is strange that this occured. Do a search of this forum to read the threads. If you do plan to use nimh batteries with the n200, make sure to get a charger that has a separate charging circuit for each battery. Many chargers charge batteries in pairs(or even 4 in one circuit), and this will not properly charge batteries that are in different stages of discharge(since they have been used one at a time). The chargers with a separate charging circuit for each battery usually have a separate charging light for each battery.

  • Rechargable Batteries for Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

I'm wondering if rechargeable batteries are compatible with the Wireless Keyboard & Mouse, and if so, what types does Apple recommend? I'm constantly going through regular batteries to power these devices. Thanks.

I bought some ordinary rechargable batteries from Maplin Electronics (AA NiMH) and they were perfect (even came with an AC charger) for £9.99 (they supplied 6 and 2 AAA), so perfect for the keyboard.
    Hope that helps.

  • Using rechargeable batteries in the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse

When I got my Mac Mini I put expensive alkaline batteries in; they lasted for about three days. I then tried rechargeables, even though I read somewhere you weren't supposed to do that. But it was either that or the Mouse was for eBay. The rechargeables lasted for 4 months. The only thing was that the battery display in the Bluetooth Control Panel showed three bars lit instead of five. I don't suppose there's anything to be done about that and it doesn't matter anyway, but I'd be interested to know why there's this difference.

Thanks, Andy. I could have looked that up for myself, couldn't I? Still better late than never. Here are a couple of interesting things I've found at Green Batteries.
*Why do my alkaline batteries run down so quickly when used in a digital camera (or other electronic device)?*
Alkaline batteries were not designed to meet the very high power demands of today's electronic devices. Alkaline batteries have a high rated capacity, but they can only deliver their full capacity if the power is used slowly. (See chart). Electronic devices such as digital cameras place a high power drain on batteries, so it is much better to use rechargeable NiMH or NiCd batteries for these type of devices. Lithium batteries also work well in high drain applications but they are expensive and are not designed to be recharged.
*Can NiMH batteries be substituted for alkaline batteries even though they are only 1.2 volts?*
Yes, for most high drain electronic applications NiMH batteries are ideal substitutes and you needn't worry about the apparent voltage differences. Even though alkaline batteries are rated at a nominal 1.5 volts, they only deliver 1.5 volts when they are fully charged. As they begin to discharge the voltage of alkaline batteries continuously drops. In fact, over the course of their discharge, alkaline batteries actually average about 1.2 volts. That's very close to the 1.2 volts of a NiMH battery. The main difference is that an alkaline battery starts at 1.5 volts and gradually drops to less than 1.0 volts. NiMH batteries stay at about 1.2 volts for most of their discharge cycle.

  • Magic Mouse not working with rechargeable batteries

    Hello,
I have a Magic Mouse. I ran out of alkaline batteries and replaced them with Philips rechargeable batteries.
Magic Mouse refuses to turn on.
The same batteries, used in a MS Mouse work just fine. In fact, it works even with only one of them.
Are there incompatible batteries with Magic Mouse? Can anyone advise?
    Thank you.

I suspect it may be a voltage issue. Virtually all rechargeables work in my Mighty Mouse but I have not been able to get rechargeables to work at all in my Magic Trackpad. I have tried about 5 different varieties. What I have not tried, as I did not have any with me in France, are these "instant on/ready to use" rechargeables. I measured the voltage of newly recharged NiMh cells at about 1.47V, which quite quickly dropped to about 1.3 to 1.4V and then stayed there a long time. Fresh Alkaline were about 1.6 to 1.8V and fresh Oxyride or Lithium, about the same. For high current devices, the lower voltage of the NiMh cells may not be an issue, as their internal resistance is much lower than alkaline, so that the effective voltage in use may the same. However for very low current devices like Mice or trackpads, the free voltage may be more important,

  • Apple Bluetooth Devices and Rechargeable Batteries

    Hi,
Both from my own experience, and other posts on this forum, there seems to be a problem using Bluetooth devices, especially mice, with rechargeable batteries (symptoms, not being able to point, crazy tracking behaviour etc.).
I know that Apple recommends that non-rechargeable batteries are used, but in this day and age that seems a bit archaic and, well, not very eco-friendly!
So is there a good reason why Apple couldn't design (or re-design) bluetooth devices with re-chargeables in mind?
If there's anyone out there who has been able to get reliable performance from blue-tooth devices with re-chargeables, can you share some brands/details?
I've tried Energizer Ni-MH 2000mAh, and they do not work.
    PowerMac G4 Ai/Intel Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hello Ellis:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Apple indicates that rechargeable batteries are fine for use in wireless mice/KBs (see paragraph #2):
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86651#faq1
As the other poster correctly indicated, the voltage is lower in rechargeable batteries so they do not last as long as lithium ones. I use 2500 MaH batteries and the life is "reasonable." I do use an Energizer recharger that recharges batteries in 15 minutes (takes both AA and AAA batteries).
FWIW, I have not detected any behavior problems related to using rechargeable batteries - nor have I seen more than anecdotal posts that indicate such problems,

  • MY wireless mouse keeps quitting.  It quits I get 'connection lost'.  It starts up i get 'connected'.  I've installed new batteries, same problem.  Do I need new rechargeable batteries from the Apple store?

My mouse works intermittenly.  It quits, I get an on screen message,"connection lost".  It starts up again, I get "connected".  i've installed fresh AA batteries in the the mouse to no avail.  Do I need to go to the Apple store and get some new rechargeable batteries?

  • Energizer/ Duracell Rechargeable Batteries?

Can you charge Energizer Rechargeable Batteries in a Duracell charger and vise versa?

I wouldn't charge anything in those Duracell chargers...  They're pretty cheap/basic.
To get the most out of your batteries I suggest getting a good charger that has independent charging channels for each cell.  Independent charging is the most important feature.  Beware, some chargers lead one to believe they may have independent channels (like a cheapo one I got at W-M) but don't actually charge cells independently!
The LaCrosse BC-900 and MaHa MH-C9000 are about the best chargers money can buy (but still pretty affordable), and MaHa has some cheaper/more basic units that are still very good.

  • Panasonic Oxyride Batteries with Muvo TX

I've recently bought a GB Muvo TX FM which I'm quite impressed with and I was wondering what the official view was on using Oxyride AAA batteries with the player.
I picked up the batteries without really looking at them but I see that they seem to be quite heavy duty and I wondered if this might be a problem with the Muvo. Any ideas anyone?

These batteries are .7 v and might imo damage some electronic equipment due to the higher voltage. They are also very expensi've. $5-$6 for four? If one shops carefully, they can get Maxell alkaline AAA batteries for around $4 or so per pack of 20.

I am looking new batteries for a BT Freestyle 2500 and was wondering if any rechargable AAA batteries would do for it or do I need specific batteries.

Any rechargeable AAA batteries with a capacity equal or greater than the originals.
So if they were 500ma/h then anything 500 or greater.
