I was just wondering if there is any type of compact (on the small side, not bulky) rechargeable battery for the new 5G ipod w/ video that can plug into the bottom in order to extend playback time? there is an external battery pack from belkin and it runs off of AA batteries and it is awesom 4 AA gives it about 20 hours of playback time. It is great

Muvo TX SE - Rechargeable battery power lim

Hi,
I've just bought a Muvo TX SE player (in UK) and am planning to get a rechargeable NiMH battery for it. The online store I used was offering 800mAh batteries as a recommended accessory for this player.
Now my physics is a bit rusty ^_^ so I don't know exactly what mAh denotes (at a guess, capacity?).
My question is this: NiMH batteries in the shops seem to go up to 2300mAh, is it safe to use these with my Muvo? The posts I've read here about Muvos and NiMH tend to mention 850mAh at most, and I remember having a chat with a chap at Dixons some time ago (in relation to a different device, I forget what) wherein he suggested that 2300's could potentially damage the device.
EDIT: from a quick trawl of the online-shops, it appears the AAA battery only goes up to 000mAh - I was looking at AA's before. Question still stands though
Does anyone know the answer to this, or perhaps can point me to some info on the subject?

The Muvo TX uses an AAA battery and 800 mAH is good for them. The 2300 mAH battery was probably AA, not AAA, and that won't work in the TX.
I don't know about the TX SE but in my regular TX I use 750 mAH NiMH batteries and I put in a fresh battery every night before I go to bed. That's enough to go all day the way I use it so I've never concered myself with how long it will go on a battery. It goes as long as I need it to.
I do sometimes forget and then the next day I'll sometimes run out and sometimes not.

I'll be serving in the Peace Corps and may not have access to unlimited electricity as I do in the states. I'm looking for your recommendations on external, portable back up batteries for iPad - both what you like and what you don't like; what you'd recommend and what was a waste of your money.

I've used external batteries from New Trent and have always found them to be reliable and a very good value. Search Amazon for "New Trent" or visit their web site (with the same name).
Be sure you check the battery for 2.1 amp output (for tablet) that is capable of charging the iPad properly.

This won't ever be implemented. The MuVo's do not have internal clocks.
You won't get a wired remote because the MuVo's were never intended for such things. They're usually small enough to easily remove from the pocket etc etc anyway.
AC adaptor? I find this quite amusing. I think the plug and transformer to allow this kind of functionality would be bigger than the player. It seems rather ridiculous for a player without a rechargeable battery.

Now when a song plays I only see the title of the song, what is weard because on most mp3 player's you see: "(artist name) - (song name)".
I hope you guys can make a small firmware update so the song information is displayed good.

Is there a way to check if the rechargeable battery is the original? I have a feeling mine has been swapped out...

I have a feeling my rechargeable battery pack was secretly swapped out by another user (whose battery had died) - left for vacation working computer, returned from vacation battery not charging. Is there any way to check (serial number, etc.) what battery came with the purchased computer? Any help would be appreciated.

No, but you could check to see if the battery installed has about the same amount of charge cycles if you were paying attention to that number.

like a say though, not showing up in itunes still
before it recently had this failure, it had shown up as corrupted and that it needed restoring (but i was holding off, as i manually managed all music and was hoping for a way to back it all up, to no avail)
first time posting here, would appreciate a quick answer because tempted to just click the 'restore device defaults' option

Why is the replacement battery for my Macbook 2010 not lasting long?

I just had a new battery installed in my mid 2010 Macbook (white) a few hours ago. Once it was done charging, I looked at the battery bar and noticed it was suddenly down to 95% even though I saw that the cord was just on green light (means fully charged). The estimated time remaining is 2 hours and 56 minutes. Isn't supposed to be 10 hours? The battery is new. I went down to Apple to have it replaced.
P.S. I am not running any program at the moment, but Safari. Bluetooth is always off. My brightness is 1/3 of the bar. My operating system is Mavericks 10.9.5
