Recieved a Warning in Repair Permissions

Back again, I just recieved a Warning while doing a Repair Permission
Warning:SUID file"System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/A RDAgent"has been modified and will not be repaired
What is this and should I have concern?
Not having any fun with my MBP

I had a similar issue. I think that leopard is having more issues than tiger.

I've seen this Warning while repairing permissions on my MacBook Pro. I've seen the "Ignore This" suggestion for earlier OSX versions. My question is: Is this normal even for Mavericks? and why hasn't Apple corrected this issue?

These are recurring messages that you may safely ignore. They are innocuous.

It sounds like you used the 10.5.1 update using Software Update.
Download the larger 110MB file of 10.5.1 directly from Apple and this will most likely take care of all but one SUID warning.

The remaining warning is normal and will cause no problems.

Warning message when repairing permissions

I Just repaired permissions and the usual large list showed up. But this time I got a message that says:
"Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreService...ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
I navigated to that site and could not find a SUID file. Does anyone know what that stands for and could this be a problem?

I seemed to get that response after updating to 10.6.7 and my confusion is that when I go to Core Service Folder in the Library, I don't even see any SUID File at all? And this is the first time I have ever received a warning that a file has been modified and not repaired. Have you seen a warning like this before?

Repaired permissions om my Macbook and got a warning immediately that ihave a SUID file "systems/library/core has been modified and will not be repaired. There is also a large question mark sign on my finder window---can anybody help me understand what's happening ?

1. The current updates are installed. Ignore that message.
2. Command-click it and drag it out of the window.

When I repair permissions in disk untilities, I get one result that cannot be repaired:

I recently had a new hard drive installed by Apple, after mine failed. The permissions seem to get out of whack quite often, and I get the message above.

"Warning" items in my Disk Utility's Repair Permissions report.

Having some problems with my USB ports going out of commission, I have run Disk Utility > Repair Permissions on my main HD. Here are a few items in the Repair Permissions report that sound ominous, and look like they may be related to my USB problem. Does anyone recognize these symptoms, and what they mean?
They are (in sequence, interrupted occasionally by the usual minor repair notifications): (1) Warning: SUID file "System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpLoad" has been modified and will not be repaired. (2) Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DiskManagement.framework/Versions/A/Resources / DiskManagementTool" has been modified and will not be repaired. (3) Warning: SUID file "sbin/unmount" has been modified and will not be repaired. (4) Warning: SUID file "usr/bin/quota" has been modified and will not be repaired. (5) Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DesktopServicesPriv.framework/ Versions/A/Reseources/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired. (6) Warning: SUID file "usr/sbin/pppd" has been modified and will not be repaired. and (7) Warning: SUID file "usr/sbin/vpnd" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Does anyone know what is going on here? Even if it is not related, is it important that I correct these items . . . and how? (btw, I inserted the numbers in the parens above, to make it easier for me to read them off the report and type them into this message window!)

Warning message following permissions repair

Just repaired permissions on brand-new MacBook Pro after installing some software. I got the following message. Is this related to having disabled the infrared remote (in order to save on battery usage)? Is it anything to be concerned about?

The article seems to have not been updated for Snow Leopard yet. I have this exact same warning myself along with a couple of other things that cannot be repaired.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm not noticing any funny behaviour, but I'd be happier if I wasn't getting this warning.

I believe this is a standard benign error. Search around a little, probably using the this year or last year option in the search page. You'll probably find a link to the KB article that says specifically that this is ok.

Repair Permissions warning message

Running Repair Permissions on my start-up disc running OS X 10.6, I get the message:
"Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired."
Is this serious? Do I need to do anything about it?

As long as the report ends up with 'Permissions repair complete' then, as far as permissions go, you are fine. You can ignore the various statements in the report:

That means that a recent version of Apple Remote Desktop is installed. Ignore it and any of these other messages.

According to Apple, Mac OS X: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore.

Problem: I have to run repair permissions to access the internet using safari, firefox or chrome on my mac pro. What can I do to fix the problem once and for all?

Would you care to tell us which version of Mac Pro, and which version of OS X, you are running? (It's not always safe to assume that a User is running Lion just because he posted in the Lion Forum.)

No issues, but curious..why do I always get permissions repaired when I click on 'repair permissions in Disk Utility......it usually has to do with core permissions and it's happened since i got this MacBook Pro in 3/11..it continues with 10.7
