Sending emails from my laptop using Thunderbird I get the usual "connecting to...., sending to...,message sent" But recipients do not receive post even though my internet provider's sent folder contains the posts. Cox is my email provider and I can send posts from their WebMail site.
There were no changes in configuration.
I should note that I was using a "free" WiFi in Nicaragua.
Also, I receive emails just fine.
Cox says it's my email client but I don't see how it could be you guys isince Cox had had to receive the posts in order to put them in the sent folder.

have you tried mail to multiple domains or all say cox.net. I have a feeling your email might have got a bad reputation in deepest darkest Africa.

    When you say seem correct, have you checked in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Account name > Outgoing Mail Server, SMTP and the outgoing server name is correct, then > Primary Server name is correct >  Host Name, User Name, redo the Password, Use SSL is OFF or ON according to your provider, may just try it both ways, Server Port, often 25 is the best to use.

    delete your mail account and add again your own then try. if it doesnt work reset the phone and start as an new phone

    Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
    Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you either mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar in iOS 6 (double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar), Control Centre in iOS 7 (swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the line of 5 icons) .     I sent several emails from my new mac book and the recipients have not received them. It says that my server has timed out on some attempts to send emails. on other attempts, nothing is said, they just don't get them. Any idea on what could be happening? Why aren't people getting some of my emails?

    Make sure everything is in order and that your . mac smtp server is correct. It could just be that the server was down when you sent the emails.
    Also to double check things, use the web version of your .mac account and see what happens there. Send yourself an email to test. That will tell you if it's the .mac account or your settings in mail.
    By your handle I am assuming you are talking about a .mac account

    I've contacted BigPond and been told its because of keychain access, but have checked all keychain and deleted and redone keychains. Deleted email account and reinstalled. checked all my passwords and settings in prefs in Mail. Don't know if this is related to recent security prob I had with Apple ID that was being hacked as I kept getting messages to reset my id. Went to apple support and setup the 2 step security but was still getting emails about id reset, so don't know if this started the problem. Am ready to scream!

    See if turning off SSL works. That is in Mail > Preferences > Accounts (your account) > Advanced button
    and deselect Use SSL.

    is this an IMAP mail account? If so
    Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > server settings and set expunge on exit.

    hi stephan... lets put in this way... are you sending attachment ...did you checked the max attachment size as mail send size and attachment size are two different things.. please check this for info on different size creteria

    If you are using Mac Mail, from the Mail menu bar top of your screen click Mail > Take All Accounts Offline then click Take All Accounts Online.
    You should not lose any unopened or saved mail.

    Thank you for the reply.  These are not, however, past purchases; these are fresh episodes of purchased seasons.  For instance, I receive an email that a new episode of Elementary is ready for me to download.  When I check for available downloads, though, I am told there are none.  So these are not previous purchases that I am trying to re-view or download again.  These are fresh items for which I have paid but which I appear unable to access unless, perhaps, I were to re-purchase them.  Grrrrrr.

    I somehow seem to have changed the Apple id password on my iPad and don't know what it is.  When I try to reset it, I'm given the option of having Apple get in touch with me by email.  I click on this choice and Apple says the email has been sent - but I never receive it, even though the address is valid.  The other option is to answer two questions preceded by entering my birthdate.  I know the answers to the questions, but must have entered my birthdate incorrectly when I set up the account.  To make a long story short, I can't sign in to iCloud on the iPad and can't figure a way out of this dilemma.

    Your password was sent to your emergency email address.  Perhaps you have an email you never use?   I use the free email from my cable TV account as my emergency email.
    Your Apple account and cloud account are separate.   You could even have completely different user and password.   Most of us use the same user ID and password, but they are not the same thing, don't mix them up.
    If you can't retrieve emergency email, you will have to call apple support.

    Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
    You can check the properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).
    In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
    Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.
