Recognising iOS 7 Keyboard capital/ small case

I find it very difficult to recognise the case I am typing on iOS 7 keyboard.
The highlight contrast of the arrow (shift) that shows whether the character is capitalised is not obvious, especially when I dragged back to correct a character, it automatically capitalise without I noticing.
The keyboard is showing all capital letters. Why can't it just show small case when I am supposed to be typing small cases?
Can there be a swipe up/down method for switching capital/small case/number/frequent symbol like android?

Custom keyboards are not supported by Apple (yet) unless you 'j b' iOS. I'm hoping iOS 8 will add be better since Apple said it will allow 3rd parties to add custom keyboards (finally!). http://www.imore.com/custom-keyboards-ios-8-explained
Points 1 & 2 could be posted as bugs - it is a joke that an onscreen keyboard behaves this way…

  • CS5, checked "save file extensions as small case letters" but still capital, why?

    hi,
i installed CS5 4 weeks ago, since this time, i never got a file extension in small case letters, only capital letters ( xxx.TIF ). why?
i checked it in preferences, see enclosed screenshot... i never had this problem in CS4.
it would be important for myself, when saving files, that alle extensions are small case letters, like xxx.psd or xxx.eps
usually i rename these extensions manually, cause i am uploading final images to PC servers, which
cant recognize capital letters, i presume....

no, i am still dealing with this problem on both macs,
mac pro mid 2010 2,8 quad (24GB RAM) and my mbp 15" i7 (4GB RAM)
    where i installed Photoshop CS5.
on both macs, photoshop always saves files with capital letter file extensions (xxx.TIF or xxx.PSD)
thats very annoying, as i have to manually rename the file in the finder later.
and thats for all files i create.
i really wonder, could anyone from the adobe staff please comment if it is a bug
    or anything else?
    thanks!

  • Why doesn't the keyboard display lower case when this is selected?

Why doesn't the keyboard display lower case characters when these are selected?

The same reason physical keyboards have capital letters, easier to read. If the iPad keyboard is in caps you'd know because the Shift key would be colored blue.

  • Greetings, I have an iPod Touch, that I recently tried to access the apps store. I can't enter my password, due to not being able to switch the keyboard to lower case letters. I tapped on the arrow up button, and it makes a click sound, but the letters do

Greetings, I have an iPod Touch, that I recently tried to access the apps store. I can't enter my password, due to not being able to switch the keyboard to lower case letters. I tapped on the arrow up button, and it makes a click sound, but the letters do not change. Am I doing something wrong?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Can I make the keyboard display lower case letters?

Sorry for possibly a totally n00bie question....I'm completely new to Apple products. I just bought my first Apple product yesterday, iPad Air (full size).
My question is in regard to the virtual keyboard. It displays the letters in upper case, so it makes it difficult to determine between upper and lower when I press the shift key because it doesn't look any different.
Is there a way to make the keyboard display lower case letters when in lower case mode and vica versa for upper case?

In my opinion, this is still one the silliest oversights in design by Apple.  They can make the little switch button on flashlight icon in the control tray toggle between up and down, but they can't toggle the case of the letters to reflect the status of the Shift key?  Seriously...without actually using your phone, can you tell me which icon represents Shift being enabled?  Is it the black arrow with the white background or the white arrow with the grey background?

  • Cannot dismiss iOS 8 keyboard

Has anyone else had a problem dismissing the iPad's iOS 8 keyboard when you have a Bluetooth keyboard attached?
From time to time I run into a problem dismissing the iOS 8 keyboard when the cursor is in a text field, even though I have a Bluetooth keyboard connected.
This is an iPad Air with a Logitech keyboard. I've tried various "fixes" but nothing seems to work.
    Turning the Logitech keyboard off
Cycling the Logitech keyboard off and back on
Turning off Bluetooth and turning it back on
Returning to the homescreen to swipe down and cancel the spotlight search
The only thing that seems to work right now is powering the iPad off and rebooting. This works for a while and then, for no apparent reason, the problem will reappear.
Has anyone else had this problem and what solution(s) have you found?

I'm surprised no one else has posted about this problem.  I have the same issue.  It happened to me yesterday.  Only the keyboard popped up on the springboard.  Apparently the last thing I did there was log into iCloud because the text that appeared in the little helper boxes was my iCloud password, in the clear.

  • Small Case Study

I have one small case study that I am trying to solve to understand the dimensioanl data modeling concept better.
We deal with lots of small securities (loans) everyday. We generate Time Series reports from this data, most of the times we look at Market Values and Duration of the securities at aggregated level.
Everyday we get thousands of securities, each having a type, category, coupon and an amount. E.g.
Sec Id Type Category Coupon Amount Date
    100 Arm SF_ARMS 5.0 $1200 04/27/05
    101 Arm SF_ARMS_TREASURY5.5 $2000 04/27/05
    102 Fixed SHORT_TERM 5.5 $1800 04/27/05
    103 Fixed LONG_TERM 6.0 $1000 04/27/05
Sec Id Market_Value Duration Market Calc Batch Date
    100 1350 3.12 M1 C1 B1 04/28/05
    101 2100 2.5 M2 C1 B1 04/28/05
    102 1900 3.0 M1 C1 B1 04/28/05
    103 1100 2.7 M1 C1 B1 04/28/05
I have to produce a report like this:
    Market Value Duration
    Arm
    SF_ARMS X X
    SF_ARMS_TREASURY X X
    Fixed
    SHORT_TERM X X
    LONG_TERM X X
    My questions are:
    1) Dimensions I have identified are: Securities, Market, Calculator, Batch, Time.
    2) Do we need two separate fact tables for Market value and Duration ? Or they can be in one ?
    3) Should Amount and coupon be security attributes or sit in a separate fact table. According to one book any numerical values should go into a fact table.
    4) What about Type and Category, are these attributes of Security Dimension.
Any guidance in this direction will be highly appreciated.
    Shalu

Shalu, here are a few more items to consider. I'll take a stab at these because I'm currently working on a similar investments cube (though with a lot more dimensions)
    - Market value and duration can go into a single fact table if they share the same dimensionality (as noted). Not sure of your application, but are you trying to do any market rate scenario analysis (i.e. what happens if the yield curve shifts up 50 b.p. or down 50 b.p.)? If so, then some variables (duration, avg life, convexity) will need to be dimensioned by scenario, while others (book value, for instance) do not fluctuate based on the scenario and therefore would be in a different cube.
    - Amount and Coupon rate should probably not be stored in the fact table. Having said this, you have several options:
    1) store as attributes in the securities dimension
Pros: easy for users to select all securities that match a given amount or coupon rate
Cons: Difficult to band these together on a report or to aggregate the totals (i.e. total market value of all securities in the 4.00 - 4.99% coupon rate band)
    2) store as hierarchies in the securities dimension
Pros: both amt and coupon could be banded and summarized over the hierarchy, making banding reports very easy to do
Cons: Difficult to impossible to easily show BOTH amount bands and coupon bands on a single report, since one OLAP query will only allow one hierarchy to be selected
    3) store as separate dimensions outside of securities
Pros: easy to band, can show both bands simultaneously on a report
Cons: creates 2 more dimensions that increases cube size (although you will find the new "compressed composites" in 10g work wonders on this)
Note that all these points also apply to your #4 re: type and category.
Just because I'm curious, what information do your dimensions "calculator", "batch", and "time" provide?
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Onscreen Keyboard gets smaller and smaller

    Dear Reader.
Because of impairment I heavily depend on onscreen keyboard. But strange things happen with lion: the onscreen keyboard got smaller and smaller. Now it is this tiny, that I even don't have access to the + button to restore the size. Only close and minimize buttons are visible due to small width. Closing and even restarting does not help at all. I don't see any chance to reset to default size.
Please help, if you know about,
I googled very much and didn't find help
    Thanks
    Harry

If you can't drag the edge then I think deleting the plist might be the next thing to try.
Open a finder window and on the menubar select Finder > Go > hold the option key down to expose Library > click Library.
In the Finder windows for Library go to the Preferences folder and find com.apple.KeyboardViewer.plist and either drag it to the desktop or delete it.
You might have to logoff/logon.  The system will create a new plist of the default size.

  • IPad iOS 8 keyboard glitch. Hitting T but typing 5.

IPad iOS 8 keyboard glitch. Hitting T but typing 5.
I have an IPad Air first generation. This has been annoying me for some time. Hitting T but typing 5. It is only now and again but has happened 5wice writing this.
Haven't seen this reported elsewhere and have been hoping for a bug fix.

    Hi,
On iOS 8 Apple added support for third-party keyboards. Try downloading one in place of the original keyboard.
    I personally would recommend TouchPal.
Just a little warning though - the name of the keyboard contains a T.
    Hope this helps,
    Charlie.

  • Word in proper case ( First letter Capiral and remaining small case )

    Hi all
I wanted to make a sentence as a proper case one. like All first letter of the word should be in capital and remaining in small Letter..
    For example..
I have a sentence in Lower case ..
    'rupees twi thousand only'.
i wanted to make it as follows..
    Rupees Two Thousand Only...
    Cheers
    Christina

Here is an alternative approach which uses a regular expression and runs over 10 times faster than calling STRING_UPPER_LOWER_CASE:
    form proper_case changing p_name.
      data:
        li_ofs type i.
      translate p_name to lower case.
      while sy-subrc = 0.
        translate p_name+li_ofs(1) to upper case.
find regex '\b[a-z]' in p_name match offset li_ofs.
      endwhile.
    endform.

  • F7  query for capital & small letters

I have form has 3 fields (item, item_desc, location) , I want to do F7 & F8 to do searching in those 3 fields, but I want to do it using capital and small letter , so the client can CLICK F7 and write any word with capital and small letter mixing and click F8 then get all the item with he/she wrote.
My form now doing querying just if I write exactly the same word, but I want it as client write as mixing capital with small letter and sytem can caught it.

If I'm guessing correctly on you question : on the Item there is a "Case Insensitive Query" property which you can set to Yes to so that upper, lower or mixed case queries will match ok.
If you are querying a large table be aware that database indexes may not be used on these columns and you may have to cater for that (with a function based index on the columns in the database)
