Recomendations for cpu cooler?

I'm looking for some recomendations for a cpu heatsink/fan for a socket 775 processor. I am currently using a Thermaltake Jungle 512 and it just isn't cutting it. My idle temperature is at 50 and the fan is pretty loud. Already the temperature went above 60, which I do not want. So do you have any recomendations? Thanks for your help!

Not only CPU cooler but also your casing fans. Is it enough cooler fans. It's better to hav at least 2 cooler fans. One suck in at front and another blow out at the back. Room temperature is also important. Now days computer with higher running processor must be provide in good environtment/aircon room. Operating computer on aircon or non aircon room, it's a big difference. Good Luck.
Best regards,
Beni

  • List of Compatible CPU Cooling Fans with my MSI X48C Motherboard

Just wondering if there is a list of compatible CPU Cooling Fans/Heatsinks that go with the MSI X48C MOBO. I am using a Q9550. Ones that I am considering:
Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU Cooler
    Zalman 9700[NT]
    Thermaltake SpinQ CPU Cooler
Also, if you know of any others that would be good, feel free to add your opinion!
    Thanks for the help!

I am personally partial to Thermalright products for cpu cooling. I use nothing else. Copper ones tend to be much heavier than non-copper ones and can actually over time put undue stress on the board around the cpu socket. Besides, I havent seen enough of a difference in temps when using copper versus non-copper to warrant about getting a copper one. Heres one from thermalright I like.....
    http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/cpu/si-128_se/product_cpu_cooler_si128se.html
For the fan, get a Thermaltake silent cat 120. Killer combo.

  • PSU and CPU cooler for Mega PC 651

I got my hands on a 2nd hand msi Mega PC 651 for free because the case does not contain any CPU cooler and PSU.
Where can I bye these components?

    Hi Lewis,
I presume you are refering to this guide?
    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/support/manual/note/quick_installation.pdf
I don't think there are any better instructions, other than what you might get with the CPU. Here's some breif comments that may or may not help though:
Get an anti static strap and attach it to earth, (ie I leave my main PC plugged in and attach to it's chassis, when working on another PC)
Your CPU may be attached to the heatsink with thermal paste, if it is be very careful
On my 865 the CPU heatsink is screwed to the motherboard, it may also be held on with levers. Disconnect it as appropriate
Once the heatsink is loose gently remove it, you may need to lift one side first or it may lift the whole CPU out
Once the heatsink is out lift the CPU lever, the CPU will easily lift out
you may wish to remove the old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink, I use ArctiClean 1+2 check your CPU supplier for options
put the CPU straight into an antistatic bag
Only when you are finished playing with your PC insides should you take off the antistatic strap
If you are still unhappy with these instructions try checking out the Intel or AMD website for help
    Hope this helps
    cheers

What are you planning to do with it?
If you're not overclocking, then the standard cooler that comes with retail boxed CPU will be just fine.
i bought this CPU without retail box, so without cooler ,and i do want to overclock it in the future.

  • CPU Cooler for 870A-G54

Ok I need a CPU cooler that won't block a RAM slot. I have an Arctic Cooler 7 currently but it is so wide and short that it blocks my first RAM slot.
I am not oc'ing but I don't think the stock cooler that came with my Phenom II X2 is sufficient with the other 2 cores unlocked.
Anyone currently using something that won't block that slot?
    Thanks in advance!

A inch off: wlahdone, much dust gathered in front of the processor fan, on the graphics card, tells me you can improve on the air flow. Two ideas:
     - A stronger exhaust fan.
     - An air filter of some kind for the intake fan, or turn it off completely.
     - A tower processor fan that directs dust towards the exhaust fan.
Yes there is some dust on the HAWK That has accumulated since i ve bought it, high quality ~1 year dust
I usually clean the video card on the other area Don t want to disturb something with static as it works.
For already 2 months i ve replaced the case with a Nexus Clodius and indeed i may put the front fan to the mobo and set it at a lower speed (as the included controler sets them both in same time) ,to create that required air pressure.
And the case alows me to put one on the top of the case as well.I usually use a Cooler Master TX2 for the CPU and that one does send the air to the exhaust one.
It s a little off topic and i m sorry ,but Fredrik provoked me

  • Which CPU Cooler for AM2 board

    Hi!
Right now i am just running with the Box cooler from sempron 3400+ on my K9N-platinium board.
I hope soon to get the AM2 Mountingkit for my Noctua but it can still take 3-4 weeks, so i am looking for another cooler untill then.
I know it is different from country to country which cooler are available, but which Cooler do you use?

ok, you didn't mention the OC-ing part in your post. like always, i would suggest zalman if you're after something cool and quiet
    My Bad ;-)
Right now my Sempron gets 1.45V and running 2400mhz...in prime stress test 2004 it gets up to 42-43C.
I think around 1.4-1.25V probably would be enough, but the Atrix 500W psu that a have in the system right now is not that stable.
Anyway, i'm hoping to hit 2600MHZ with the right cooling.
The Cpu temperature is taken from Core center !!

  • Which cpu-cooler/heatsink for my new box?

    hi
after 3 days of reading hardware-review sites i have decided to order the following things:
    Antec Sonata Case
    MSI K8T-Neo FI2R mobo
    Athlon64 3000+ boxed
    MSI GeforceFX 5900XT-VTD128
I'm stuck on selecting the right CPU & northbridge cooler.
I'd like to buy a Zalman CNPS7000 AlCu CPU cooler & the Zalman ZM-NB47J for passive northbridge cooling but i'm not sure if there's enough room on the motherboard for  those two to fit.
does anyone here have any expierence with this cooler-combo?
if you have any other cooling suggestions please let me know!

I have that zalman and the NB cooler too, the MSI NB cooler is very much like the NB cooler from Zalman tho.
The 7000 rocks but right now I'm waiting for an Alpha 8150 which will be replacing my Zalman, not because it's not good.. it's probably just as good as that Alpha or even better but I just want to change for the change's sake.
Here's a small list for you to consider.
    Alpha Pal 8150
    Zalman 7000 cu/alu
    Thermalright 748u
    Swiftech, coming ouit this month
These are the heavy weights for the A64 CPUs.. I think they're all so close to each other it's just a matter of taste really.
    Good luck,
    Simon

  • Which CPU Cooler did you use for your CPU?

Hi guys, just wondering, what CPU Cooler did you use in your mega 865?
Did you use the Intel or the MSI CPU cooler?
Which do you think is better?
I used the MSI CPU Cooler, Which I think is better cause it has a copper base which can transfer heat faster. Also the heatsink must have been designed for the case too.

    ^
The Mega 865 came with an additional "extra page" on how to install the Intel CPU Heat Sink into the 865, so it could be that msi thought that intel's solution was better? The manual of course had how to install the msi heat sink, so rather than printing the manual again, they provided an extra information sheet.

  • [865PE/G Neo2 Series] Zalman CPU cooler doesn't fit, Northbridge Sink remove?

    Hi,
I have a problem fitting a Zalman (CNPS7000B-Cu) cpu cooler - the MSI northbridge sink is too high and too close to the cpu.
Can I replace the NB sink with one with a lower profile?
( Incidently, I'm not overclocking, although I do use this machine as an audio machine and it does get quite hot.
    - If I can replace - any recommendations?
    - If not - any recommendations for a reasonably priced and quiet cooler that will fit (i.e with a narrow profile).

I had the same problem on my 865PE Neo2-PFS Platinum Edition mobo. Zalman's website indicated that the CNPS7000a-AlCu fits on this board, but it doesn't. The diagonally placed northbridge heatsink is in the way. I originally thought I'd bend a few of the Zalman's fins out of the way, but then I decided if I could do something with the northbridge heatsink. I removed the northbridge heatsink and removed the 2 fins that were in the the way of the Zalman. I wanted to repalce the modded northbridge heatsink using some AS5 but the stock thermal goo (some pink stuff) was impossible to get off, even with alcohol or acetone. So I smeared some AS5 on anyway and just mooshed the heatsink back on with the pink junk and AS5.
I noticed that the northbridge gets really hot at stock speeds (200 FSB). I'm planning on overclocking my 2.4C to 3GHz (250 FSB) today, so I hope the northbridge doesn't burn up. Gonna aim a fan at it and hope for the best.
Hope the "bend 2 fins off the northbridge heatsink mod" helps all you guys that want to put Zalman's on your CPU's.

  • Help me find a cpu cooler please.

    Hi everyone,
Im having some difficulty finding a decent cpu cooler for my box,
atm im using the boxed cooler from AMD modded with a 80mm papst fan,
it runs pretty quite, but the temps aren't that good.
Ive tried adding some more fans in the kabinnet, but then it makes more noise, which is unpractical.
There are so many brands and types of cpu coolers, and since im really not following with the hardware developent anymore
im really at lost with this, so i hope some of you gurus can help me out.
    It should be pretty simple

  • "I have an HP Pavillion computer & want 2 put in a quiet CPU cooler. Which one fits that's quietest?

I'm looking to do some home audio recording and need a quiet fan in the computer. The guys at Best Buy had me buy a Corsair A50, but the fitting wasn't correct for the Pavillion (not sure if 'fitting' is the correct word - I'm talking about where the CPU cooler sits). In addition, the A50 was too tall for the Pavillion's box. Any help would be appreciated.

The reason your OS is invalid is because it is tied to the motherboard in your stolen computer. The HP OEM Windows OS requires information in HP motherboard to cause the OS to activate. This is the way the OEM licenses works. The only proper way to correct this issue is to purchase a new copy of Windows.

  • CPU cooler that works with K8N Neo4 Platinum/SLI motherboard

I have read that some say the Zalman interferes on this board with the 1, and 2 ram slots, is this true?  I'm using the 3500 Winchester CPU.
Does someone have a part number if the Zalman is;   a)  the best, and  b) clears properly.
Also I see everyone talking about Artic Silver 5.  What does the"5" mean?  I have Artic Silver that I have been using for about 2 years, but there iis no designation "5".  Do I need the new stuff?
    Thanks

I don’t know muck about artic silver, but I have a comment on the cpu-cooler question.
I recently bought a K8N SLI Platinum, which has an almost identical layout as the Neo4 Platinum. I use a Termalright XP 120 cooler which according to there webpage does not fit on this board. But I didn’t had much problem at all! It is tight with the first ram slot thaw, and with a memory just a few millimetres higher than mine it wouldn’t fit (I use TwinMOS PC3200).
Unfortunately, I don’t know if it’s a similar situation with the Zalman coolers, but I really like to recommend the XP120 (or even XP80) anyway. It keeps my cpu (althorn 3000+) at almost the same temp as the sounding system, during normal use. And since you are free to put any fan you like, you have a very good start making your system really quiet.

  • CPU cooler

    Hello,
In order to overclock more my system I'm searching a great CPU cooler.
In my other pc ( Athlon XP with nforce2) I have a thermaltake Volcano 7+ that goes very well.
So I'm am tempted to buy Thermaltake spark 6+ cooler ( with the plus of an easy integration with the hardcano front panel of my Xaser III lanfire case).
But I 'm opened at other solutions so I ask you an advice.
Which is the better cooler (non idraulic or TEC) for you?
I have seen also same ZALMAN interesting cooler in a shop but I can 't find a site in which are shown detailed specs. Do you know where I can find more infos?
    Thanks

how well does it fit on the motherboard? u havent/didnt have any problems with the hsf touching the psu or anything? im seriously thinkin of gettin a 947U but last i looked inside my case there didnt seem to be that much free space between the stock intel cooler and my psu..  i think theres about 2.5 - 2.75 cm there atm.
and after its iinstalled in which direction is the orientation of the fins? vertically or horizontally?
