Recommandable Profile Option PO:Workflow Processing MODE (Background/Online

Hi
We are using oracle11i 11.5.10.2 on windows 2000 server
which Value is Recommendable for Profile Option PO:WORK FLOW PROCESSING MODE (BACKGROUND or ONLINE)?
for PO Approval
Thanks
With Regards
A-Z

Hi,
It is advisable to Set "PO:Workflow Processing Mode" profile option to "Background" which is a default value
If you set it as Online, it completes an entire approval workflow process before letting you proceed to the next activity, but provides you with an updated Status (for purchase orders) as soon as it finishes.
When this profile option is set to Background, you must start the Workflow Background Engine, which you access through the System/application Administrator responsibility. It is recommended that you set this process to run frequently (Schedule), if you are using it for Background mode approvals.

  • Does FND:Developer Mode Profile Option changes requires apache bounce?

    Hi All,
    Am getting the following warning message in one of my page. Observed that, the profile option value FND: Developer Mode in the instance is Yes. I have changed it to NO since the recommended settings of this profile option is NO as Oracle stated in the Developer Guide. But, still am getting the warning message. Does this change require apache bounce or am I missing anything to get rid of error?

    Saurabh,
    I got a clue on this issue. Not sure, will it be helpful.
    User clicks on the base page link, which takes him to details page. When i redirect the user from base page to details page, am setting the retainAM value as Y as one of the parameter of the link url.
    Am getting the warning message when the value of retainAM is Y. If it is N, it is not throwing the warning message. Any idea, what could be the reason?.
    I feel, it might execute the VO's in the AM. Is my guess make sense?

  • FIM 2010 Workflow Processing Issue

    Hi All,
    We are having a problem with FIM 2010 (Update Rollup 2) workflow processing.
    Background is:
                Set: Object State 2 set (criteria based membership, criteria includes AUX_Attr1 ‘NOT Equal’ 3)
                Set Object State 3 Set (Manually managed membership)
    WF1: set AUX_Attr1 to 3
    WF2 : Set AUX_Attr1 to 2
    MPR 1: Transition in MPR (Transition set = Object State 2 set), fires WF2
    MPR 2: Transition in MPR (Transition Set = Object State 3 Set), fires WF1
    What we are seeing is the following:
                We add a user to “Object State 3 Set”
    From the request history we can see that:
    The successful request for the set membership change (transition in Object State 3 Set)
    The successful request by the Forefront Identity Manager Service Account to set AUX_Attr1 to 3
    and FIM correctly fires MPR 2, this sets AUX_Attr1 to 3 and this has been verified by looking through the request history
                A couple of seconds later FIM fires WF2 which sets AUX_Attr1 back to 2.
                The request history shows no signs of the object transitioning back into “Object State 2 set” so I am unsure why this
    workflow would trigger again.

    Best thing to do with this problem is look at the request that caused this to happen and look for parent requests and for the applied policies

  • How can we set the profile options to increase OPP response Time

    Hi All,
    While running the concurrent program to merge the data template and rtf template we got the following message in the log file.
    Executing request completion options... ------------- 1) PUBLISH ------------- Beginning post-processing of request 9079946 on node G2C-IDEV-02 at 21-SEP-2007 02:04:49. Post-processing of request 9079946 failed at 21-SEP-2007 02:19:53 with the error message: The Output Post-processor is running but has not picked up this request. No further attempts will be made to post-process this request, and the request will be marked with Warning status. Setting the profile option Concurrent: OPP Response Timeout to a higher value may be necessary. --------------------------------------
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    There are 2 new profiles options that can be used to control the timeouts. Depending on the error message, one of the following solutions needs to be implemented.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time a manager waits for OPP to respond to its request for post processing.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_PROCESS_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time the manager waits for the OPP to actually process the request.
    Note: The profile options are available as of $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/AFCPOPRB.pls 115.3 and are included in Patch 4125550 11.5.10 CU2 for ATG Product family.
    Solution A
    Option 1: Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout'.
    Option 2: Increase the number of processes or threads (or both) of the OPP via Oracle Applications Manager (see Note 291792.1 for the detailed instructions)
    Solution B
    Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout'.
    Workaround
    The timeouts can also be altered directly in the package AFCPOPRB.pls :
    -- Default timeout values for waiting on a response to a request (seconds)
    TIMEOUT1 constant number := 120;
    TIMEOUT2 constant number := 300;
    TIMEOUT1 and TIMEOUT2 corresponds to respectively OPP Response Timeout (solution A) and OPP Process Timeout (solution B).
    Cheers
    Ranjit.

  • Applications Start Page Profile Option Causing Issues

    Hello Oracle Gurus,
    I'm having an issue in a 12.1.3 instance that I think may be related to the "Applications Start Page" profile option.
    For testing purposes, we set the profile to a specific Self-Service page at the Site level. We eventually removed the Site level profile and added it at the user level just for specific users, but since the Site-level profile was set, every time we click the Home link in the upper right-hand navigation, we get an "unexpected error." If we attempt to log in as a user that does not have the Applications Start Page profile defined, we also get an unexpected error.
    After getting the error using either of the methods listed above, if we then try to navigate back to the login page, the instance throws a 500 Internal Error.
    If we close the browser and navigate to the instance again, we're able to log in without any issues with user accounts that have an Applications Start Page profile defined.
    Our "Self Service Personal Framework Mode" is set to "Framework Only" at the site level.
    Bouncing Apache seems to resolve the issue temporarily, but then it comes back again a few hours later...
    We've opened a Service Request, but has anyone else run into this before / have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Here are some related Metalink notes from 11.5.10:

  • Mass Maintenance will recognize any customer record in workflow process

    Hi gurus,
    Please help me on the Workflow process, how to handle below workflow  scenario,  is there any logic be hand this.
    please see in BOLD workflow issue.
    1.2     As-Is Business Process
    Currently Data Maintenance teams use standard SAP transaction XD07 to change Customer Account Groups. The standard transaction XD07 allows only one Customer Account Group to be changed at a time. The process is to be manually repeated for every customer. After the Account Group is changes in the request client (X07(10)), an RFC call is made to the BOR client (X07(20)) and then to the transaction client  (X08(10)) to change the Customer Account Group as the SAP ALE process does not support Account Group Changesu2026
    1.3     To-Be Business Process
    From time to time, bulk customer data updates will be needed. This can be the result of business situations that cause multiple updates to be performed for given customer fields such as Customer Account Group field. A new program must be developed to let the user mass update the Customer Account Group field (KNA1-KTOKD). The Program should be accessed on demand using a new T.Code (YMDM_ACCTGRP_CHG).
    Business users will submit a spreadsheet in the appropriate upload format to CDM along with written approval from the Food Service data owner to execute the upload in P07. CDM will execute the upload, record all documentation for the audit change log and notify the submitter when complete
    1.4     To-Be Business Process Flow Diagram
    1.5     Enhancement Functionality
    The following are the requirements:
    u2022     This tool will enable a user to perform bulk update to the customer account group field.
    u2022     The utility should let the user upload a u201CTab delimitedu201D file to mass update the Account Group field.
    u2022     The Load File will have 3 columns, Customer Number (KNA1-KUNNR), Current Account Group (KNA1-KTOKD) and New Account Group (KNA1-KTOKD).
    u2022     The Program must utilize the process behind the standard SAP transaction XD07 to change customer Account Groups in X07(10).
    u2022     The standard customer ALE (DEBMAS) process does not support Customer Account Group changes, so the mass change program must use the RFC functionality to change he Account Groups in the BOR (X07(20)) and Transaction system (X08(10)).
    u2022     Workflows for all updates performed using this T.Code are automatically approved.  No manual approval steps will be needed after data load.
    u2022     Mass Maintenance will recognize any customer record that has an open workflow. If a customer record is already in the request queue, it is u201Coff limitsu201D for any bulk update. That update request to that particular customer record must be rejected.
    u2022     Provide the option to run the process in validation mode and update mode.
    u2022     Report all hard and soft legacy field errors on a validation report.  All u201Chardu201D legacy field validations should be passed before allowing update mode to run.
    u2022     The upload process will produce an error log for all records not loaded into the system.

  • Pages 5: Send shape to back in word processing mode

    Using Pages 5.2:
    In word processing mode, how can I add a shape and send it to the back?
    The only way I've found is to 'move object to section master' but this, of course, causes it to appear on all section pages. I could hack up the document to create sections of the pages I want shapes in the background but I need the sections to work as proper sections.
    I want to achieve a design like the attached image, where the white 'Executive Summary' text is in the main text flow in word-processing mode.
    Is this possible in word processing mode?
    (I can achieve it by adding another text box like I have done in the image attached but when I create the table of contents, it only recognises paragraph styles that are used  in the main flow of text in word processing mode, not those used in text boxes).
    Thanks for any advice

    Hi Jerry,
    I'd considered this though it felt like an ugly hack and I was holding out for a 'proper' way to do it! - That said, many thanks for your advice and confirming it looks like the best option, I'll do it like you suggest. I've submitted it as a feature request anyhow.

  • Duplicate option in workflow

    Hi
    In CA in admin ACC - Workflow- Publishing-commonWorkflow when i have to make changes in that i just right click on it and gave duplicate the workflow but that duplicate option is ter but its just read only mode cant able to duplicate pls help me how to change it....
    Thanks in advance

    You might want to check couple of things: First, in ACC > People and Organizations > Control Center Groups - ensure that your user group has all the required access rights for workflows.
    If all the access rights are fine then make sure that your workflow editor server is configured correctly. Clean up any exiting data from epub_wf_server_id table on the CA database and configure workflow editor server through the Workflow Process Manager’s XML configuration file /atg/epub/workflow/process/workflowProcessManager.xml as below and then restart the CA server.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <process-manager-configuration>
    <process-editor-server>
      <server-name>SERVER_NAME:DRP_PORT</server-name>
    </process-editor-server>
    </process-manager-configuration>Where SERVER_NAME would be the name returned by the /atg/dynamo/service/ServerName component's serverName property (typically it would be same as the host name where server is running) and DRP_PORT is the DRP (Dynamo Request Protocol) port as configured in /atg/dynamo/Configuration.drpPort
    Hope it helps.

  • Disable profile option updation at user level

    I want to disable the profile option HR: Security Profile or for that matter any other profile option at user level. The user should be able to see the value set by the system administrator (Field should be grayed out) and user should not be able to update it.
    How to do it??

    Try a personalization combined with custom PLSQL, like this:
    1) Acces System Profiles
    2) Help->Diagnostics->Custom Code->Personalize
    3) In the newly displayed Form Personalization form, create a line with a description like this: Prevent modification of USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    4) In the Conditions tab, set Trigger Event = WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
    5) Set Trigger Object = PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    6) In the Condition text area, enter:
    apps.xxror_test_sysprofile(:PROFILE_VALUES.USER_PROFILE_OPTION_NAME,'USER')=1
    7) Set Processing Mode to Both
    8) Switch to the Actions tab and create two actions:
    first:
    type = property
    description = Don't update
    Language=all
    enabled=yes
    object type=Item
    target object=PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    property name=UPDATE_ALLOWED
    value=false
    second:
    type=property
    description=Don't enter
    language=all
    enabled=yes
    object type=Item
    target object=PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    property name=ALTERABLE_PLUS
    value=false
    9) Repeat steps 3-8 if desired for other levels, such as:
    Prevent modification of SITE_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of APPL_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of RESP_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of SERVER_VISIBLE_VALUE
    Prevent modification of ORG_VISIBLE_VALUE
    paying attention to update the corresponding names for xxx_VISIBLE_VALUE.
    10) Create the following PLSQL function:
    CREATE OR REPLACE function xxror_test_sysprofile (
    prof_opt_name in varchar2,
    lvl in varchar2
    return number
    is
    v_ret number;
    s_prof varchar2(1024);
    s_uname varchar2(100);
    s_lvl varchar2(10);
    begin
    -- returns 0 if the user "uname" must be granted access the profile named "prof_opt_name" at the "lvl" level
    -- returns 1 if the user "uname" must be forbidden to access such a profile at such a level.
    -- important assumption: the "lvl" parameter may have only one of the following values:'SITE', 'APPL', 'RESP', 'USER', 'SERVER', 'ORG'
    -- or else this function will return 1, thus forbidding the access
    s_uname:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(fnd_profile.value('USERNAME'),''))),1,100);
    if s_uname in ('MY_ADMIN_1','MY_ADMIN_2','SYSADMIN') then
    v_ret:=0; -- no restrictions
    else
         if s_uname in ('MY_POWERUSER_1','MY_POWERUSER_2') then
         -- restrict to only the below mentioned profiles
         s_prof:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(prof_opt_name,''))),1,1024);
              s_lvl:=substr(upper(trim(nvl(lvl,''))),1,10);
              if
              (s_prof like '%WHATEVER%')
              then
                   if s_lvl in ('SITE', 'APPL', 'RESP', 'USER', 'SERVER', 'ORG') then
                        v_ret:=0; -- level acceptable for these users on these profiles
                   else
                        v_ret:=1; -- unknown level, so reject
                   end if;
              else
                   -- these users may not access these profiles, so reject
                   v_ret:=1;
              end if;
         else
              if s_lvl = 'SITE' then
              -- no way any other user than those above may modify site-level profiles
              v_ret:=1;
              else
                   -- any other user than those above may modify lower-level profiles, but
                   -- for now reject all
                   v_ret:=1;
              end if;
         end if;
    end if;
    return v_ret;
    end;
    Pls be aware that testing first on a test instance is always advisable.

  • Receiving Transaction Processor runs even if processing mode is ON-LINE

    Hi All,
    We have a problem with receiving. The profile option RCV: Processing Mode is set to ON-LINE at site level. We observed that the Receiving Transaction Processor is running for a bunch of transactions with IMMEDIATE processing mode.
    We checked the responsibility level and user level profile options too and nothing is set. only at site level we have that profile option set to ON-LINE.
    What could be the reason for this Transaction Processor to run???
    Please let us know.

    RECEIVING PROCESSING MODE에 대한 BULLETIN
    ======================================
    PURPOSE
    PO receipt를 실행시키다 보면 RCV:Processing Mode에 따라 문제가 발생
    하거나 정상적이거나 혹은 debug가 생성되거나 하는 다른 양상을 볼 수
    있다. 이 Note는 이런 Receiving Processing Mode에 대한 차이점을 설명하여
    향후 문제 해결에 도움이 주고자 한다.
    Explanation
    ## Creating Receipts ##
    Receiving transactions이 실행되면 data는 RCV: Processing Mode(On-line,
    Immediate or Batch) 값에 의해 바로 수반되는 processing을 위해
    RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE table에 pending status로 저장된다.
    이 Profile 값은 오직 PO form을 통해 transaction이 실행 되어질 경우에만
    고려된다. 일반적으로 이 Profile option 값은 system level로 지정되나
    users 별로 personal profile에서 이 값을 변경할 수 있다.
    ## Processing Mode values ##
    On-line:
    On-line mode는 가장 많이 사용하는 processing mode이다.
    User가 transaction을 저장하면 다른 application activity는 이 process가
    종료되기 전까지는 실행되지 않는다.
    성공적으로 저장된 transaction의 수나 error message를 화면에 나타낸다.
    $PO_TOP/bin/RCVOLTM Receiving Transaction Manager executable
    program을 이용한다.
    Immediate:
    User가 transaction을 저장할 때 Receiving Transaction Processor
    concurrent problem이 자동으로 시작되고 receipt을 위해
    RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE table에 생성된 data를 처리한다.
    Form의 control은 다른 application activity를 실행하려는 user에게로
    돌아간다.
    Transaction에서 error가 발생하면 이 내용은 PO_INTERFACE_ERRORD table에
    저장되며 이 error내용은 Transaction Status Summary form에서 볼 수 있다.
    Error에 대한 추가적인 정보는 View/Requests의 Receiving Transaction
    Processor concurrent request의 log file에서 확인 할 수 있다.
    $PO_TOP/bin/RCVTP Reciving Transaction Manager executable
    program을 이용한다
    Batch:
    User가 transaction을 저장할 때, Receiving Transaction Processor
    concurrent program이 report submission을 통해 실행될 때까지 data는
    RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE table 안에 남아있다.
    Form의 control은 다른 application activity를 실행하려는 user에게로
    돌아간다.
    Receiving Transaction Processor가 실행될 때,이 process는 Processing_mode
    가 'BATCH'인 모든 pending record를 처리할 것이다.
    Transaction 실행시 error가 발생하면 이 내용은 PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS table
    에 저장되고 Transaction Status Summary 화면에서 볼 수 있다.
    ## 기타 ##
    Receipt form이나 이와 관련있는 libraries는 RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE
    table에 data를 저장하기 전에 역시 validation을 선행한다.
    이런 validation error는 어떤 processing mode를 사용하는지 관계없이
    form 위에서 조회가 된다.
    Receiving Transaction Summary form이나 Transaction Status Summary form
    은 Transaction의 성공적인 진행이나 실패를 확인하는데 이용된다.
    Receiving Transaction Summary form은 error외에 추가로 Status가 'Pending'
    인 transaction을 보여준다.
    RCV: Processing Mode가 'On-Line'일때 저장된 transaction이라 하더라도
    Pending status의 transaction이 RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE table에 남아
    있으면 안된다.(이런 경우가 종종 발생)
    이런 transaction은 form의 Delete icon을 이용하여 삭제할 수 있으며,삭제
    후 다시 processing 해야 한다.
    RCV: Processing Mode가 'Immediate'인 Receiving Transaction Processor가
    아직 transaction을 처리하지 않았다면 Pending status가 transaction이 존재
    하는것은 가능하다. 보통 이런 transaction은 짧은 시간안에 처리가 될
    것이다. 종종 이런 record가 Pending 상태로 RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE에
    남아있는 경우가 있는데 이런 경우 form의 Delete icon을 이용하여 삭제 후
    다시 processing 해야 한다.

  • To generate xml code in encoding  as specified in system profile options

    Hi,
    i have a customer bug wherein the report page which is generated after a particular process, which is a .xml file, does not open because we have special characters which are not getting encoded properly!..
    the probable solution to this would be to encode the .xml file in the encoding format specified in system profile options.
    After the content generation the following code is used to generate the tags and the .xml page:
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setRowSetTag(l_qryCtx,'INVOICE_SET');
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setRowTag(l_qryCtx, 'INVOICE_RECORD');
    DBMS_XMLGEN.setBindValue(l_qryCtx,'BATCH_ID', p_batch_id);

    here we have a transaction type in portugese like Nota de Crédito
    and the issue summary is as follows
    It contains some foreign language symbols which are not encoded in UTF-8 format hence IE is showing the error. Even though in mozilla the file is completely opened but the same foreign language symbol is not shown. So the error exists in all the browsers.
    can you please suggest how the encoding maybe done so as to avoid the above problem!...
    and also how to include the encoding as per mentioned in the system profile options.

    Hi,
    >>>The XSD doesn't have any messages only simple and complex types - I can't seem to relate (via drag and drop) them to a data or message type to generate the required objects.
    maybe it has some reference inside to some other types which you did not get?
    if so you need to import into IR/ESR all files and put the correct reference (external archives)
    this would be the proper way to get the file generated according to the xml schema

  • Two transactions, same program, processed in background task problem

    Y0 Team ABAP,
    i got something here that bugs me.
    I have done a report. Nothing special, simple selection screen, selection of data, and output via SALV.
    One of my selection screen fields (a parameter) is VKBUR and it is "obligatory".
    2 weeks ago i got the requirement to create a copy of this program, and adopt VKBUR as select option.
    Since i didnt want changeanomalies i decided not to duplicate the program, but just add a second transaction to my program.
    In a routine at event at-selection-screen output, i´m hiding either the parameter or the select option, depending on which tcode was used.
    In some routine which gets triggered at the event at-selection-screen i´m moving either what we got in our parameter to our local range we use for the select, or just assign the select option to our local range, or process an error message if according field is not filled. Yeah that obligatory condition is done by myself since i cant just set the obligatory addition to the statement.
    This all works quite fine so far.
    BUT:
    Today i hear that the end-users process that report in background task by pressing F9.
    Problem is now that when it is processed in background task, sy-tcode is initial, so i dont know which of the transactions the user picked, and so i dont know which of the two fields has to be filled.
    Sure i could do another report, containing just my second selection screen, and when this is checked, do a submit on my real report, tho i still believe there must be some more elegant way.
    Any ideas?

    Unfortunateley those subtotals cant be handeled by the layout, thats why i manually add them.
    But you got me back on track! right now i´m for your solution.
    right now i´m having just ONE selection screen with the select option on it.
    User can decide if he fills just one value or more.
    In the end i loop over my output table and look if there are records of different VKBUR´s.
    If there are i know he wants subtotals and process them. If its just data of one VKBUR i can spare myself the hassle as there is anyway just one records per VKBUR so subtotaling this wouldnt make sense.
    thanks. Thats what i will present my consultant now lets see if i can get him satisfied with it...

  • File sender adapter (FTP) - processing mode "Archive"

    Hello all
    We're polling files from an external FTP server. For this I created a scenario on XI according to this thread:
    When setting processing mode to "Archive" in the file sender adapter (ftp) it polls the file, stores it to the archive directory I specified and then tries to delete the file on the FTP server side. This returns me an error because we're not allowed to delete the retrieved files on the FTP server!
    Because of this error the file adapter stops further processing and does not poll all the other files.
    How can I disable this deletion mechanism while keeping processing mode to "Archive"?!?!?
    We do not want to use processing mode "Delete" or "Test" and we don't see other options to influence this behaviour.
    Thanks for any guideance on this one in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Bhavesh
    Sorry for the late answer. Unfortunately I can't ask the application system to provide file names containing a timestamp within. The files are provided by an external partner and are retrieved by several others as well.
    In the meantime I managed to achieve this:
    In repository I created dummy data types, message types and message interfaces. No mapping programs and interface mappings!
    In configuration I created the necessary communication channels (1 ftp sender, 1 file receiver) and the required receiver and interface determinations as well as the sender and receiver agreements.
    The result of this is:
    I'm able to poll some specific files via ftp from remote host. The file names are file1.arj, file2.arj, file3.arj and file4.arj. All 4 files have the same SourceFileTimestamp (e.g. "20060727T053900Z").
    I'm able to store those 4 files 1:1 in a target directory with the same file names. Until here I did NOT need to follow this blog: <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14: The same filename from a sender to a receiver file adapter - SP14</a>.
    As of this blog it is possible to access adapter specific attributes and make them available in message mapping using user defined functions. This way I'm able to get the SourceFileTimestamp from the polled files and use it in a message mapping. This way I'm also able to use it in variable substitution on file receiver adapter (syntax = "payload:root,1,fileTS,1") in order to dynamically create a directory with this syntax: YYYYMMDD.
    So far so good... but the only remaining BIG problem now is, that as soon as the mapping is activated and assigned in the interface determination, the created files contain the XML payload instead of the original binary content. Where has it gone? How should the target message type look like so that it can carry over the original binary file content?
    BTW: isn't it possible to post screenshots? Would be much more easier to explain things... so sorry to anyone if I wasn't clear enough!
    TIA and best regards,
    Renaud

  • Item Validation Organization is not Appearing in LOV in profile options

    Dear All,
    Item Validation Organization is not Appearing in LOV of the Profile options.

    Hi,
    Enable profile 'FND: Personalization Seeding Mode', clear the cache and check if this solves your problem.
