Recommend a case for 5G 60GB iPod & iTrip Dock

Hi,
This is my third iPod and my first post on this forum (although I've been lurking around here for some time and have found this place immensely useful).
I'm looking for a case that will allow me to plug in my iTrip Dock while the iPod is in the case. I like the Agent 18 Shield and the Speck Toughskin, but I'm not sure those will work. Since the Speck cases are soft, it looks like I may be able to trim the bottom of the case out with an Xacto knife to allow the iTrip to connect, but I'm not sure I want to carve up a $35 case if there's a better solution out there.
Any thoughts? I'm not married to the iTrip, and still have about 12 days to return it to the Apple Store if the recommendation is to go with another FM transmitter. But I'd like to be able to keep the iPod in its case while I use it in the car (the radio in my Jeep doesn't have an aux input or a CD changer input, and replacing it isn't an option right now).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have!
Paul

Bought a Speck case and Kensington FM transmitter.

Can anyone recommend a good protective case for an 80G ipod?

The Griffin Survivor is a military-grade case that I use. It's $40 and I purchased it at Best Buy. It has a rubber piece that covers the charging port, but can be easily removed for charging while still in the case. The only downside of the case is because of the added girth, it makes the iPod unusable with iHomes or other docks unless you take it out of the case.

  • Case for 160 gb iPod Classic???

Been everywhere (including the Apple Store) looking for a plain, simple silicone case for a 160 gb iPod Classic. This is the OLD style, and dimension iPod. It is thicker than the new (7th gen) 160 gb iPods. I can't even figure out how to word the google search to look for one. Anyone know where I can find them?
    MANY thanks in advance-

When you did the Reset, did the Apple Logo comes ON and asked you to select the preferred language?
Charge your iPod for at least 2 hours.
After charging till full charge, preferably 4 hours
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the  next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
    Then release the buttons
    Select your preferred language.

  • HELP!!! Itunes recognizes only 22gb available for a 60gb ipod.

I have a 4th generation 60gb ipod and a week ago all of my music was erased and I could do nothing to remove the folder/exclamation mark icon from my ipod. It was stuck in disk mode for a week and yesterday it finally started working. I unistalled all apple products from my computer and reinstalled itunes. When I connected my ipod to the computer it was recognized in itunes and started to add my music library, but then it said I didn't have sufficient space. I restored the ipod to factory settings 4 times and in my ipod summary it says I have a 22gb ipod???? How do I make it recognize my 60gb ipod??? PLEASE HELP.

I restored the ipod to factory settings 4 times and in my ipod summary it says I have a 22gb ipod????
do you have any other drives attached to your system that have a 22 GB capacity, danni?
if so, try checking on the possibility from this document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • Recommend a case for a 5th gen iPod Nano

Just got a 5th Gen Nano and looking for a good case to protect it. I actually got one of these...
    http://www.amazon.com/Incase-Slim-Sleeve-iPod-Nano/dp/B002SK6M7A/ref=sr1_fkmr13?ie=UTF8&qid=1269585897&sr=1-3-fkmr1
...but it's hard to get to the controls with it.
Any suggestions for something to protect the iPod, but allows easy access to all the controls?

I use this one. Pros: Works perfectly. I like the clip on the end as I wear the iPod around my neck or clipped to a waist band if I don't have any pockets.
The leather is sturdy & not in the way of any of the controls. I do not have to remove the case to recharge, use click wheel, hold button & earplugs.
Case was free from the place I purchased my iPod from.
Cons: I have to remove the case to show people the color of my iPod & my custom engraving.

  • Recommended leather case for 3GS with Ed Hardy clip on cover

My girlfriend bought me one of the Ed Hardy clip on back cover's for my 16 GB iPhone 3GS.
Unfortunately now my Knomo leather case http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TU776ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0NA&mco=MTE0MzU0NjY will not fit.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality leather case that would fit my 3GS with it having the Ed Hardy cover on it. Here's a list of leather cases from the Apple Store UK:

Well the pelican case is one of the protective cases like an otterbox or a lifeproof. The biggest difference is its muchhhh smaller and thinner than the other ones and has more protective qualities. Actually, I work on an ambulance and pelican makes the cases that the medications are stored in so the medicine doesn't just roll around plus in case anything happens they are super protected. Pelican isn't as popular because you can only get it through AT&T, but they are only $60 and have a 180° belt clip Unlike the otterbox ones that are vertical. Plus, they aren't slippery like otter.  Since you say you want leather, if you search on etsy for iohone 6plus leather (or something to that extent) MANY will pop up! They have everything from faux leather to different cuts of custom leather punches. youve just got to search. One Ive found that allows you to put your own belt clip on is the one I'll put link in for. If you search belt clip on that site you will find their kit.  Their basic site is mobilefun.com.  (Just in case it doesn't work, I'm still new to these threads!)

  • What's the recommended import encoding for best 'practical' ipod use?

I just really found out that you can change the import encoding for different quality sound and such and I'm wondering what is the best or most practical quality setting for use on my IPOD? Also how about the best, period? It would be nice to have my favorite albums on my ITUNES in the best quality I can have them.
Most of my songs are AAC encoded, 128 kbps, 44.1khz, low-complexity, stereo.
A while ago I was messing around and changed preferences settings and so some music is encoded as MPEG-1 Layer 3, 160kbps, joint stereo, ID3-v2.2.
    How would you import?
    Thanks!

Meg has a good memory. I do rip in AAC@256 VBR. After experimenting around for about 2 years or so, I have found that this setting yields the best audio quality for my tastes. You have to keep in mind what kind of equipment you are using. If you are using Apple earbuds & internal computer speakers, then it's doubtful that you will be able to tell much difference. I use Shure SE310 earphones & Bose Companion 5 speakers with my computer, so I can most definitely tell lower audio quality files. The last thing to remember is that ripping at a higher bitrate or with a Lossless format will increase the size of your files & thus use more room on your iPod. My AAC@256 files are 2x the size of the same files ripped @128. This doesn't matter to me as I recently purchased a 160GB Classic a few months ago. Hope this helps.

  • Thai Language Fonts for a 60GB iPod bought in the USA

My wife is Thai and we live in the USA. Yesterday she became the proud new owner of an iPod! When I import her CDs into iTunes, if the CD is encoded with song information, the Thai font is displayed in iTunes. However, on synchronizing the iPod, the Thai fonts are not displayed on the iPod. Is there a download available that will show the Thai fonts on the iPod?
    Thanks

    the Thai fonts
are not displayed on the iPod. Is there a download

The iPod does not support Thai out of the box. You can see this from the tech specs:

However I think a hack can be found here. Don't know how well it works or if it has any adverse affects:

  • Case for ipod touch

    hey guys,
i gonna to buy a case for protecting the ipod touch, apart from ipod socks, any better alternatives?
    thank you

I brought one from this website last week and its made for the touch and fits perfectly and is really good quality. It seems to protect the touch too as it has extra padding inside and is quite sturdy.
    http://www.beyzacases.com/catapple_ipod_touchcases.cfm
The best bit is that it has velvet inside so everytime you pull the touch out it cleans any smudges off - very handy.
Good value for money and it arrived 2 days later.

  • CASE FOR 80GB IPOD CLASSIC

I want to buy a case for my 80gb ipod classic (iskin evo3) .... and when it says 30gb or 80gb...does that mean that they haven't updated to the new version of the ipod? or would it not make a difference in size?
thanks in advance for your help!!

I just received my 160 and promptly put it into the iSkin eVo3 caes. It fits snuggly. I don't notice any problems with it fitting. This is is the good news.
The sort of bad news is that the classic's scroll wheel is different somehow and doesn't always scroll properly through the iSkin's rubber. I sort of figured out that you have to first hold your thumb on the wheel for a second or two before you begin scrolling, as if the classic needs to feel its presence. Then you can begin scrolling and the ipod senses the thumb properly, though not as accurately as if the iskin wasn't on. If you take your thumb off the iskin for a few seconds you will have to retrain it again by waiting a couple secs before scrolling. A bit annoying but so far not a deal breaker for me. I'm more annoyed with the iSkin's magnet to lint/dust/hair.
BTW. i left the original plastic wrapping on the ipod before placing it in the iskin. The wrapping doesn't affect strolling when the ipod is not wearing its skin, but maybe the extra layer does make a difference when the iskin is on.
