Recommend a printer for me

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
Here are the requirements for the printer I need.
OUR USE: For printing black images (logos) on CLEAR transparency (clear inkjet films) to burn the image on to silkscreen.
We do not need color so least amount of color heads (4) the better (unless you have a black only inkjet printer).
MUST BE ABLE TO:
1) Print opaque black on inkjet clear film.
2) Print lines .25 point thin.
3) Media size 8.5 x 11 (do not need a wide format printer)
4) Separate ink cartridges
4) Extra large black cartridge (compare to color)
4) Cost $300 or less
Even if HP do not have the printer, I would appreciated it if you can direct me to someone who can help me.
Even a discontinued printer I can still purchase will be fine.

If initial cost is important, there is at least one AirPrint Inkjet model (HP D110 or B110) that is less than $100. You may find it at a discount store for much less.
If total cost of ownership is important, then consider the AirPrint LaserJet model with the largest toner cartridges. Cost per print will be lower than for a LaserJet with small cartridges, and MUCH lower than for Inkjet printers.
While a set of ink cartridges may print a hundred or so pages, a set of toner cartridges may print well over a thousand.
(Yes, you can save money by refilling your ink or toner cartridges.)

Can anyone recommend a printer for thick cardstock? I am planning to make custom bicycle playing cards and I want to print directly onto the card.
what I am looking for:
a printer that loads paper from the top, front or rear doesn't matter as long as it has a straight path and doesn't bend the paper.
inkjet
prints to cardstock
under $200 if possible
ink that isn't expensive to replace

Any will work. "AirPrint" compatible printers will work even better, since they require no setup whatsoever, and will even work with iOS devices (and with some compatible android/windows phones) you might end up buying.

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''

In reading the reviews on the Apple site, most of them are bad and talk about not working with the operating system. I will be using it for printing shipping and mailing labels, and general use printing. Does anyone have a printer that they would recommend? Your help is appreciated.

My old Brother printer has churned out 60,000 pages and is still going strong. And it has worked without problems on every OS version since 10.4. That model is no longer being sold, but i would recommend the Brother brand without reservation.

I want to roate a single text on the lable by 270 degrees. I have searched this forum and came to know about including a print control. therfore for the device type lzeb2( 200 dpi print head) created a print control z270 with the following A0BFD.

f = font name Accepted Values: A through Z, and 0 to 9

my questions
Do i have have to create a print control for 300 dpi printer or is there a differenet universal solution?
secondly with ^A i specify the type of font i use....i simply don't wont to be concerned with the type of font? I want to use what is used in the smartform?
thirdly the text to be printed it as the right hand side of the label so in order to see that the text gets printed i have to create
which simply exceeds the length of the label length, but it achieves the rotation and the printing is within the label itself...strange
do you guys have any alternative solution / recommendations

that is horizontal but exceeds the length of the lable, but usiing the aforementioned command prints the text roated by 270 degress and within the label, so the text printed is within the label.

Had 2 Phaser 7700's - excellent print quality - large footprint, overpriced and consumeables are expensive
Currently have a Konica Minolta Magicolor 7450 - print quality close to the Phasers, large footprint, good price, consumables much cheaper than the Phasers - Noisy, not great in a small office.
No FHE with the OKI but it looks like a nice machine. Best to find a dealer and check out print quality and if you have small space watch out for the fans humming it can get overwhelming intrusive.
