RE: Mac Pro Replacement Graphics cards
1) Apple brand cards,
2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
1) Apple brand cards:
• Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5
• Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
• NVIDIA Quadro 4000, about US$1200
• NVIDIA Quadro 5000, about US$2500
3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
• SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
• EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
• running 10.8.3 or later AND
• don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
• can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards"

  • Updating graphics card driver for G5350uk

    Hi
We have a G5350uk desktop. Serial Number:   [edited Serial Number by Moderator]  Product Number:   XS612EA.  Its running 64bit windows7 and internet explorer 8, which is no longer compatible with a number of web pages so we wanted to upgrade to ie11.
Except we can't upgrade because we don't have service pack 1 installed.  Service Pack1 can't be installed because our graphics card driver is one of those that stops the windows update from functioning properly and detecting Service Pack 1.
So I tried to upgrade the device driver, but its says its the most current one, so I loaded the Intel untility which told me I needed to source the driver from the manufacturer.
So I came to the G5350 support page and allowed it to scan my PC.  I get then get into a loop with the annoying message pasted below.
HP was unable to verify that you have this product, but did find other products.

Which is all very frustrating as i'm clearly searching for the right thing, the web site says it can't find what I'm looking for but then tells me its found exactly what I'm looking for!  When I select the option suggested it just goes back around in the same loop.
I stil don't have an updated graphics card driver to get around the Service Pack installation issue and so still can't look at an increasing number of websites.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks

    Mazrak, welcome to the forum.
This is the only driver that is available for your Integrated Video.  You can't use retail versions of drivers for HP's Integrated Video.
I suggest uninstalling the current driver by going into Control Panel / Device Manager / Display adapters.  Right click on your adapter and select "Uninstall".  Then, you can install the driver that I provided and reboot.  This may solve your problem if a glitch has occurred.

Sounds just like what was happening with my Alum MB. I took it in and they replaced my battery. It seems to be ok now. I don't know what it is, but my battery was fine before 10.5.6 and the same timeframe of the firmware updates when they came out.
My battery health was jumping around but was fine before all of this happened. Unfortunately at 381 cycles I don't think you have much chance of getting the battery for free. Perhaps you can complain about the battery saying it was fine until 10.5.6 or whatever. Not sure when your computer was made, but perhaps you are eligible for this program: http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/

  • Satelite 1730, updating graphics card

At work we have a Toshiba Satelite 1730 that I wanted to upgrade the graphics card for. It's an ATI card but I was recommended to go to the manufacturer of the laptop for an update.
But at Toshiba Support I only find an update for Windows ME.
I know the laptop was delivered with Windows ME but sice then the PC support at work have upgraded it to Windows 2000.
Where can I find an update for the graphics card for Windows 2000?
    Hallrar

    Hello
You are right about OS. This notebook model is delivered with WinME only and there is no support for other operating systems. The only thing that you can do is to search on the net the driver for your graphic card by at producer download site.
Your notebook has an ATI RAGE Mobility-C graphic chip.

  • Updating graphics card on desktop

Updating Graphics Card:  I have what was sold as a HP performance desktop computer about 3 years ago. With a AMD FX-6100 processor and a 2MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 graphics card. No intergrated graphics that I know of. Being interested in CG animation it soon became obvious that graphics card was to weak for my purposes. So recently I have tried to update with 3 NVIDIA cards. The first two being 'T - Cards' and now I have a GeForce GT 740 2MB as a expensive paper weight. I have read every tutorial on updating graphics cards to no avail. Now I read on this forum since my BIOS was created a year before I bought the computer and hasn't been updated since by HP I'm stuck with what came on the machine. SOME PERFORMANCE MACHINE.  I also see where if AMD had a BIOS update it could screw up my system restore. This is my 3rd HP but I sing the praises no more.

Dave the U.S. Army trained me in electronics with tube carrier equipment way back in the day. Then I went to work as a electrician on nuclear submarines many times working in computer switching  cabinets which no doubt cost more then my first house. So a desktop doesn't exacty intimidate me. In reference to the Zotac card I have no idea what DOA means.  I have a Blender friend in Germany who bought his computer about the same time she bought mine. With a AMD processor and motherboard. His first update was a GFX 680 I believe with no problems. Then since he wants to animate he bought a Nvidia Titan. Once again no problem and Windows 7 went looking for driver updates.  Smooth as silk and he simply can't understand why I'm having a problem.  A problem which has played out in private e-mails and not on the Blender Forum. If I understand your post correctly the BIOS could be updated if HP wanted to.  And, there lies the problem. And, the reason I would not recommend a HP to anyone interested in CG Graphics. While my German buddy is updating graphics cards at will with a AMD motherboard and processor I'm stuck with this.  It's laughable in a way. Here I have one of the most popular computers in America and he has whatever they have in Germany. I'll take what he has quite frankly. Performance computers my ass. Once again thanks for your interest.

  • Bios Update/ Graphics Card

Hello I am having problems finding the bios update (download) for my computer, I looked all around the "hp" website and I can't find any downloads for bios. I recently re-installed and updated my graphics card because it wouldn't run hardware acceleration or any games that I tryed to start up, so now everytime I start up my computer it freezes while booting, but once I go into safemode and disable my Nvidia GeForce 7350 Le my computer boots up fine but my graphics card won't run, I have searched up over the internet for this problem and what I came across is that I need a bios update for my updated graphics card to work properly. My current bios is {Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.08, (12/ 8/2006)} what I am looking for is the download link for {P5LP-LE Motherboard BIOS Update, Version:5.23, (Aug 26, 2011)}. I have read that you can only get the update from the "hp" website, and I can't find it. If anyone could help I would gladly apprectiate it, also if you think i'm doing somthing wrong or taking the wrong steps into fixing this problem please let me know, Thank You!!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

When you click on download, you get 2 options namely.
    1. Use HP Download and Install Assistant (Recommended)
    2. Download only.
When you click on the 2nd option, download only the file will start downloading.
I tried from my end and it worked fine.
Please try from a different web browser and check.

  • Cannot update graphics card BIOS, MSI Live upate 6 will not work.

Live update 6 does not support "MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G" graphics card.
Live update 6 does not run.
Even tried mass loading Live update 6 to the point it had 800+ "Live Update.exe 32*" processors running in task manager and they soon disappeared 20 seconds later.
    No UI.
    No Error message.
If the program is not running it is clear it does not support any of the hardware in my system including "MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G".
As a result I cannot update to latest BIOS for my graphics card.
Operating system: Windows 7 64bit (last update 05/09/2014 6 days ago)
    CPU: AMD A8-6600k APU @ 4.60GHz
RAM: 8GB Dual channel Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer DDR3 1866MHz CL9
    Motherboard: Asrock FM2A88M Extreme4+
    GPU: MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G
    GPU details:
Am I required to have an MSI motherboard to be eligible for a graphics card BIOS update?
The reason why I seek this is because the entire line of R9 200 series graphics cards are plagued with screen flickering due to ULPS. BIOS updates for other vendors of the card; "Gigabyte", "Asus" etc have been reported to fix the monitor flicking ULPS causes however since I have an MSI GFX card I cannot use Gigabyte and Asus BIOS updates.
I no longer have the flickering issue due disabling ULPS and overclocking the graphics card however it's causing the card to operate at a constant 48 degrees and chew power.
With the overclock values and stress testing it with Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (extreme preset) the card reaches a max of 74 degrees over the course of stress testing for 4 hours.
But I would like to be able to have my card at factory clock settings with ULPS without the flickering and I'm wanting to see if the staff at MSI are fully aware of the bug in their product line and if the latest BIOS version for the graphics card would fix the issue.

No but live update is flakey at best and i wouldn't trust it.... (seen far to many problems with it)
if you want a Updated VBIOS if one is available please supply these 2 things and then one of the other mods will be able to get you what is needed!
1: Serial number of your card (leave off the last 3 digits and then there is no unique information about your card as the rest is all just manufacture data to all the cards from that batch)
2: click the little icon to the side of your BIOS version number and save a copy of the VBIOS to a file and uplaod it to somewhere and give us a link to the file... (use somewhere like Dropbox)
once we have those 2 pieces of information someone here will be able to get one if Available for your card

  • Satellite M60: can not install the newest driver for my graphic card

Can not install newest driver for my graphic card
    Satellite M60
    ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700

    Hello
First of all I really dont understand why you start two topics with the same theme. It is much better to have one topic with good content and interesting comments. Am I right? ;)
Anyway, in your case it is interesting that Toshiba use adapted drivers because of hardware protection. That means that graphic card will not be forced to run at the maximum level. Hardware cooling in notebooks is very problematic and high temperature can result with overheating or hardware damage. All hardware components are placed on small place. Graphic card produce a lot of warmness and it is not so good for all other hardware.
When you use non-Toshiba driver graphic card will be forced to run faster. Because of that every notebook manufacturers dont support usage of third part drivers. The fact is that hardware protection is priority.
I didnt make any experiments but according to some reports on this forum there is way how to install non-Toshiba graphic card driver.
Please check this forum and you will find many comments about that. One interesting topic is http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18063&messageID=66186

  • Specific hardware recommendations for PE12, Graphics for Win8.1

We are upgrading our video processing system from Win XP 32bit/ PE10.  I plan on going to PE12 and need better recommendations for CPU, Graphics, Memory, etc than the Tech/Specs recommendations. Most importantly, does PE12 use GPU acceleration?

Not so much here, but over in the Premiere Pro forum several Adobe employees post to help people
I can't remember which one, but at least one Adobe employee has "alluded" to the idea that the specifications on the product pages are "market" driven to increase sales, not "technical" driven to let people know what they should have for EFFECTIVE video editing
The 1st configuration on the page I listed will work OK for P-Elements (it would not work so well for P-Pro)
When you do start using v12, lots of help links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830

  • Unique interrupt for AGP graphic card

I'm not able to set unique interrupt for AGP graphic card (nVidia GeForce4/440) on MB MSI645 Ultra (MS-6547). I'm afraid this is reason, why my system W2000 hanging up eg. when I'm watching DivX movie (monitor, mouse a and keyboard freeze and sound going on). In the best case I'm sharing interrupt only with USB but mostly also with other devices as sound card etc. Asignment of interrupts ti PCI slots in BIOS don't help me.

When ACPI is enabled windows will place many devices on a single virtual IRQ, this is normal.
    I have on IRQ11:
    SB Live! 5.1
    ADSL PCI modem
    2xNEC USB2.0
    2xVIA USB1.1
    56K PCI modem
    GF4 Ti
    Realtek 8139 10/100 NIC
    All is working well.
For you I suggest you install the SiS chipset drivers and then try using the nVIDIA 28.32 VGA drivers.

  • How to update graphics card drivers for late 2008 macbook pro with Nvidia 9600m GT?

Can anybody help me update the drivers for my 9600m GT graphics card for my Late 2008 Macbook pro? I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5 with a Windows 7 partition. I have tried finding support on Nvidia's website, but at least for the 9600m GT, it isn't supported for my operating system. Would I have to update it from my Windows side? And if so, would the update apply to my OS X side as well? I have a little computer knowledge, but nothing indepth.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
In OS X, Apple provides the GPU drivers and you cannot update them from NVIDIA. They are updated with each OS X update, so you are running the most recent drivers for your OS X version. OS X Mountain Lion and Mavericks have got more recent GPU drivers, but it's not worth upgrading unless you need newer drivers for an app (I highly doubt this).
However, you can update the GPU drivers in Windows, and you should do it to get the best performance. You can download them from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Note that drivers are only applied in the operating system you are installing them, so they will not be installed in OS X

  • Updating Graphics Card for MacBook Pro

    Hello.
I have the most recent 13 inch: 2.5 GHz MacBook Pro.
The thing is, I absoutley hate the Intel HD 4000 Graphics card that comes with it.
The only game I play on my MacBook Pro is Battlefield 3, but the graphics card has a hard time trying to run the program
Other than the graphics card, all my computer specs meet the requirements to play the game.
    MY QUESTION IS
Is it possible to replace my graphics card with a Nvidia graphics card? Probably by opening up my laptop and putting it in.
I heard that this way was impossible, but I am not 100% sure.
And if that doesn't work, is there any way to get a newer graphics card? Probably externally through the bolt connection thing?
    Thank you

    Jon,
Like yourself I found that a customized PC is the way to go for PC games. For several years Apple sort of kept up with PC graphics ability making the Macbook Pros, Mac Pros, and some iMacs close enough to play recent demanding PC games.
The current trend of thinner and lighter for the Apple laptops has compromised the gaming capabilities to the point that I have switched to a PC Clevo P150HM for new games.  I play Skyrim on ultra settings. The best thing about these PCs is the initial customability and some upgrading ability later.
One big question I have about the trend to Retinal displays is how much more graphics ability is required to just maintain the existing level of performance.
