Recommendation needed for duplicate clean-up and photostream settings
Good day. We have 2 iphones and macbook and an iMac. The iMac is our main photo repository. However, it has become overpopulated with photos. In iPhoto, I have the automatic import selected, so I have all kinds of duplicate photos now. I also imported all my wife's photos from her iPhone too. Now I'm going through 1 by 1 to sort, move photos to events, remove duplicates, etc.
I think I'm good on the settings moving forward, but I'm looking for a way to efficiently review and remove photos. Any recommendations on this?
The other question I have is once IOS photos are imported and tagged with 'photostream' on my iMac - I assume I must delete these to remove them permanently, ie - they are not part of my 1,000. Once they are imported to the iMac from photostream - they are on there until I delete them correct?
You can use one of these applications to identify and remove duplicate photos from an iPhoto Library:
iPhoto Library Manager - $29.95
Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto - free
Duplicate Annihilator - $7.95 - only app able to detect duplicate thumbnail files or faces files when one library has been imported into another with iPhoto 8 and earlier.
PhotoSweeper - $9.95 - This app can search by comparing the image's bitmaps or histograms thus finding duplicates with different file names and dates.
DeCloner - $19.95 - can find dupicates in iPhoto Libraries or in folders on the HD.

Recommended order for running clean-up wizard in wsus upstream / replica hierarchy
Hi :)
Is there anywhere documented recommended order for running clean-up wizard in wsus upstream / replica hierarchy ?
Should I first run on Upstream and than on Replica or vice versa ?
I've found on this blog
http://www.madanmohan.com/2010/10/sms-wsus-synchronization-failed.html that clean-up should be run always from bottom (replica) to the top (upstream).
Also, is there any news for WSUS 4 :) ?
Best regardsYES,you'd better run the WSUS Server Clean-up Wizard from the bottom of the WSUS hierarchy to the top and NEVER from the top down.
I totally disagree! The Server Cleanup Wizard should be run on the upstream server first, to ensure that
updates that will be deleted are no longer synchronized to the downstream server. Furthermore, if you run the SCW on the downstream server first, and it deletes updates that have had status changes on the upstream server that need to be replicated,
this may throw a synchronization error on the downstream server. The downstream server should NEVER be intentionally put in a configuration that makes it different from the upstream server, and running the SCW on a downstream server before running it on an
upstream server would do exactly that.
For more details on my thoughts about how to use the Server Cleanup Wizard in a replica environment, please view my webcast from Sep 2010
Using the WSUS Server Cleanup Wizard - Expert Tips and Tricks".

What kind of mac would I need for Nexflix, basic search and email? Also, sounds silly, but can I connect an HDMI from Mac to tv?
Just an FYI. The Macs named PowerMac date from early 2006 and before. Use this tip to discover where to post once you get your Mac:
Site map of Communities and Categories
The cheapest Mac available new is a Mac Mini. It is no bigger than many an external hard drive. But the screen and keyboard and mouse must be purchased separately. They support USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice, and pretty much any DVI, HDMI, or displayport display. Although the iMac is certainly an attractive option if all you want to deal with is deciding on a printer. I still recommend getting an Apple USB keyboard for the occasional times you may need to troubleshoot startup issues. Normally not a problem, but as it gets older some issues can be fixed at startup or diagnosed at startup. -
What do I need for a clean installation
Recently I bought the T61p Thinkpad along with the preinstalled Vista Ultimate. I'm most satisfied about the system and its performance. However due to heavy(read crappy) preinstalled software the performance is wors than my other almost 8 years old laptop. Therefor I want to do a clean installation of the system software. My question is, what do I need when it comes to my OS when I decide to choose one partition and do a full format of my hd. I have read several online tutorials on this issue but there's no info on what you need for this other than "a Vista CD" Does this mean I have to buy a new 'retail Vista Windows' or an 'OEM Vista Windows'(from Lenovo or any other shop?) or can I use the discs that came with the system listed beneath? And do I need to make a copy of all preinstalled progams and drivers or are they on the 8 discs?
What do I have already: Along with the Thinkpad there came 8 discs:
- 'Rescue and Recovery CD'
- 'Supplemental Product Recovery CD for type 6480,.....,.....etc.'
- '6x 'Product Recovery CD for ThinkPad T61,R61 Type 6480,.....,......etc'
Furthermore I've read something on this forum about the Intel turbomem and its NV cache??? Is this something to take in consideration when doing a clean install?
Thanks in advance!
CheHi, I post this in the other message and it may help you. Here is the steps for clean install for T61p (without Turbo memory):
1. Install you own Vista (you don't need to backup the original, Lenovo Thinkpad has the backup)
2. Install your firewall if you have one;
3. Plug in internet cable and download "automatic system update from Lenovo- system update
3.13" (here is the link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/TVSU-UPDATE.html#hp) and install it. (The system update software can download all the drivers for you)
4. Before run the System update, adjust internet setting (internet option-->connection-->Lan setup-->disable automatic search (the first one)), otherwise the software'll be interrupted in the middle.
5. Run system update and download the drivers and softwares you need.
6. Download and install Video card driver: Either FM570 from Lenovo (for 3D work) or 8600GT(for gaming). (I just installed FM570 from Lenovo website cause I am using it for CAD as well)
Then........................
Tips for speed up the Vista (dramaticly~~!):
Control Panel-->System-->Advance system setup-->Advance-->Performence
-->>Advance-->virtual memory (change)-->Choose no page files
The reason for this is that HD almost does the most hard work in the latop and virtual memory will increase the most work load for it. Since we have 4GB ram, we don't need virtual memory and relase HD's load. -
Recommended configuration for Oracle VM Server and VM Manager
Hi,
Currently we have two dedicated DELL servers (VM server and VM Manager) for which are building an Oracle stack environment.
We are facing a problem which we didn't find answer from Oracle docs or via Google. The problem is that the virtual machines we create in VM Manager can't be connected to the outside world, and we think it's because our host (Hetzner) does not allow ports eth1-eth3 to be connected to the servers, unless we have these servers in the same rack and connected via switch.
Our question is, is it recommended configuration to have VM Server and VM Manager servers in the same rack and connected via switch?
If yes, the next question is, if we need in the future to add one more dedicated DELL server to our configuration to host virtual machines, is it possible if the new third dedicated DELL server is not connected via switch to the two dedicated DELL servers we have already have?
If no, the next question is, what could be the recommended configuration and solution to our problem in our case that ports eth1-eth3 cannot be connected to the servers?
Please do not hesitate to ask if you need more information. I do appreciate your time and expertise. Thanks. The architectural environment is now done like on this graphic. For security reasons Hetzner hosting service does not allow ports eth1-eth3 to be connected, but in internal network under switch they do.

URGENT Portable HD Recommendations needed for G4 Powerbook
PLEASE HELP
I would like a portable HD to back up and carry my itunes and special files with me on holiday etc...
I brought an enclosure for an old powerbook HD which was nice and small, but while it powers up when plugged into my Ebook it won't when plugged into my powerbook. Appears that the powerbook does not have enough power to run it or something (of course, being portable, it has no external power supply). Any Ideas of brands that work.
ThanksI use a 120gb Seagate FreeAgent Go. Most of the time it is connected to my AEBS, but I connect it directly to the PB when importing multiple CD's or when on the go. The first portable drive I tried was a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini, but returned it as it required more power than the PB USB ports could put out. I've had this setup for about a year now.
I recommend getting a second Firewire drive and backup software such as Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner to backup your PB and portable drive.
Hope this bit of info helps.

Hi: Try the chipset driver directly from Intel...the second file is the auto install file. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- If that driver does not install the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller, which the chipset driver should install, download the first file listed above (zip file). Unzip and extract the contents to its folder. Go to the device manager and click on the above device needing the driver. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the unzipped driver folder. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way. Then reboot.

Recommendation needed for VOIP phone and apple extreme
I have been with Packet 8 phones for a few years, but they say their phones have problems with Apple Extreme which I just bought.
So I need to change companies. Anyne have some good recommendations so I don't have to go through this again? Torture. thanks!I'd like to "piggyback" on this question. I have the original "family share" plan, (almost 10 years now) I had the only smartphone going back to the Blackberry Curve when that was the "thing" many years ago, so I still have unlimited data on my Razr Maxx. I recently got my wife her first smartphone, with the 2GB plan, last month she used it mostly at home on wifi so she used 0GB my bill which includes a standard phone which was used by my daughter and I'll cancel to reduce my bill, which is now $183. As I look at the shared data plan for even 4GB, (I'm a pretty heavy user with no wifi at work) it would be $180 plus tax. Seems like I'm better off where I am canceling the odd phone will save me what $30 a month?
Less than I could get on any shared data plan that would cover my usage and her minimal data use. BTW, I have unlimited taxt, she has 250 for $5 a month that she never goes over, and we hvae 700 shared minutes which we haven't come near even when there were 3 of us calling. Any suggestions will be welcome!
thanks,

2. Push messages.
3. RFID capabilities.

Recommendations needed for portable hard drives
Looking for a recommendation for portable hard drives -
1. I'm buying a new 2TB portable hard drive to use with my iMac for my Time Machine backups.
2. Additionally, I am buying a second 2TB portable HD for the iMac for SuperDuper back ups (I'm adding a second layer of back up and bootable clone protection to my life).
3. Finally, I need to also purchase a 1TB portable HD for SuperDuper back ups for my MacBook Air.
I'd just as soon keep life simple and buy the same brand for all 3 drives. I want things easy.
(I have Mavericks on both computers and don't want to worry about Western Digital software inadvertently being installed without my knowing it, possible causing me to lose data on my computers. So maybe it would be simplest all around to avoid WD?)
Simple and easy and reliable - that's all I ask.Information.

Warning needed for duplicate PO numbers on sales orders
Hi all,
We are using SBO 2005A SP: 01 PL: 19.
We need a warning when adding a marketing document (Sales Order) with duplicate reference number. Presently SBO has the functionality only works on AR invoice and AR credit note. We
need a solution to also make it work for Sales Orders. We are getting many duplicate orders from our customer and we are ending up shipping them the same order more than once.
So we thought of creating a formatted search and assign it on the reference field but I need a query to solve this.
Can any one help on this.Hi Ram,
You could use an alert or an approval to prevent this happening.
An alert would be something like the following query:
select
T0.DocNum,
T0.CardCode,
T0.CardName,
T0.DocDate,
T0.NumAtCard
from
ORDR T0
where
T0.NumAtCard is not null
and T0.NumAtCard <> ''
and T0.CANCELED = 'N'
and (select count(T1.DocNum) from ORDR T1 where T1.CardCode = T0.CardCode and T1.NumAtCard = T0.NumAtCard and T1.CANCELED = 'N') >= 2
group by
T0.DocNum, T0.CardCode, T0.CardName,
T0.DocDate,T0.NumAtCard
order by
T0.CardCode, T0.NumAtCard, T0.DocNum
Kind Regards,
Owen

Storage capacity needed for installing window OS and lots of educational software in window OS
I going to buy 13" MacbookPro with Retina Display with 2.6ghz i5 dual core processor and 8GB RAM.
I need to install Window 8.1 Pro and mutiple(a lot) of educational software inside Window OS.
128GB or 256GB PCle-based flash storage should I choose to make sure enough capacity and smooth performance to me?
Thanks. You may want to inquire in the Boot Camp forum here:
Boot Camp
to see if Windows can play well with the Retina display.
If those wise people say it does not, consider the entry level non-Retina 13-inch MBP. It comes with a 500GB conventional hard drive with the option of a 1TB drive, still has a DVD drive, and you can upgrade RAM yourself--it's a ten-minute job. Another plus is that model seems to have very few reports of mechanical trouble in these forums.
However, if all you want to run is Win, I cast my vote with Esquared: consider a Windows laptop. You can get a 17-ich i7 for much less than any Mac notebook. -
Customer Master Report needed for jurisdiction, tax code, and district
I am trying to pull a customer master report and need to include the following fields:
Name (NAME1)
Account (KUNNR)
Jurisdiction ( TAXJURCODE)
Tax Code (TAXKD)
District, which is County for US addresses (CITY2)
I haven't seen a report with CITY2 and have tried S_ALR_87012180 or opening KNA1, KNVI, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
MichelleNo there is not such report or transaction.
You may look at tables KNA1 + ADRC.
In table KNA1 there are fields ORT01, ORT02, COUNC and CITYC that could help
Otherwise you must link KNA1 and ADRC with field KNA1-ADRNR = ADRC-ADDRNUMBER
