Recommendation needed for VOIP phone and apple extreme
I have been with Packet 8 phones for a few years, but they say their phones have problems with Apple Extreme which I just bought.
So I need to change companies. Anyne have some good recommendations so I don't have to go through this again? Torture. thanks!
I'd like to "piggyback" on this question. I have the original "family share" plan, (almost 10 years now) I had the only smartphone going back to the Blackberry Curve when that was the "thing" many years ago, so I still have unlimited data on my Razr Maxx. I recently got my wife her first smartphone, with the 2GB plan, last month she used it mostly at home on wifi so she used 0GB my bill which includes a standard phone which was used by my daughter and I'll cancel to reduce my bill, which is now $183. As I look at the shared data plan for even 4GB, (I'm a pretty heavy user with no wifi at work) it would be $180 plus tax. Seems like I'm better off where I am canceling the odd phone will save me what $30 a month?
Less than I could get on any shared data plan that would cover my usage and her minimal data use. BTW, I have unlimited taxt, she has 250 for $5 a month that she never goes over, and we hvae 700 shared minutes which we haven't come near even when there were 3 of us calling. Any suggestions will be welcome!

You can use one account with iTunes on your Mac, and different account(s) with the Mac App Store (for buying/downloads apps or OS updates for your Mac), iCloud (System Preferences > iCloud) and Messages (Messages > Preferences, or command-comma)

I have an iphone 4, and it's the first edition... I need a new phone and the latest is the iPhone 5. I'm wondering if apple will release a new iphone soon or should i go with the iphone 5?
No one here would know Apple's plans. But, if past history holds true, expect a new model iPhone sometime between now & the fall.

I can't sign out of iCloud on my iPhone 4 because I have the locator turned on for my phone and don't know the old password for my old Apple ID. I've tried all of the suggestions seen on here and the Apple ID site and cannot delete the cloud. Help?

Thanks for the positive feedback. Best thing to do is write a letter to that store or something of that nature to tell them you appreciated it. It really tells us how we're doing and what we could work on by getting feedback like that and we will respond to you as a way of saying thanks.

I'm installing the new OS and iPhone is asking for a password to "restore" my iPhone, but I've never used a password for the phone and don't know what it is! Can anyone help??
You selected Encrypt iPhone Backups in iTunes. Then you entered a password.

After reading solutions online and trying them for my settings for 2 days I am still unable to print what I am seeing on my screen in Adobe CS5. I calibrated my monitor, but am not sure once calibration is saved if I somehow use this setting in Photoshop’s color management.
The files I am printing are photographs of dogs with lots of detail I digitally painted with my Wacom tablet in Photoshop CS5 and then printed with Epson Stylus 1400 on inkjet paper 20lb with slight luster.
My Printed images lose a lot of the detail & come out way to dark with a reddish cast and loss of detail when I used these settings in the printing window:
Color Handling: Photoshop manages color, Color management -ICM, OFF no color adjustment.
When I change to these settings in printer window: Color Handling: Printer manages color. Color management- Color Controls, 1.8 Gamma and choose Epson Standard it prints lighter, but with reddish cast and very little detail and this is the best setting I have used so far.
Based on what I have read on line, I think the issue is mainly to do with what controls are set in the Photoshop Color Settings window and the Epson Printer preferences. I have screen images attached of these windows and would appreciate knowing what you recommend I enter for each choice.
Also I am confused as to what ICM color management system to use with this printer and CS5:
What is the best ICM to use with PS CS5 & the Epson 1400 printer? Should I use the same ICM for both?
Do I embed the ICM I choose into the new files I create?
Do I view all files in the CS5 workspace in this default ICM?
Do I set my monitor setting to the same ICM?
If new file opens in CS5 workspace and it has a different embedded profile than my workspace, do I convert it?
Do I set my printer, Monitor and PS CS5 color settings to the same ICM?
Is using the same ICM for all devices what is called a consistent workflow?

I bought my iphone from carephone warehouse, sim free and with no contract. 5 months down the line I had a problem with the phone and I booked a genius appointment, they swapped my phone and gave me a new phone but they locked my phone to tmobile!!! I now do not use tmobile and I have an iphone which is locked to tmobile!!! I bought an unlocked phone and apple have locked it!!! what can i do?
In response to this, Carphone Warehouse (and Phones4U) sell what is commonly referred to as "sim free" handsets - these are not the same as unlocked. Sim free handsets will automatically lock to the first network sim card that the phone is activated with, and that will be permanently. The only way to unlock the handset would be to go through the network (T-Mobile I understand) and request they unlock it for you. More than likely, there will be a charge as you are no longer a T-Mobile customer.
If you ever want to purchase a new unlocked iPhone, the only place you can buy one is from Apple directly. Any other place will most likely sell sim free handsets. -
External Ringer for VOIP Phone
I have external ringers connected to VG224's for VOIP phones in our shops. I have them configured and they work as they should for a while, but after a month or two it appears to blow up the port on the VG it is attached to. I am thinking it might have to do with resistance of the bells, but since I am not an electrician I am not sure. The ringer is a Premier PT-102 bell and per the description is 1000/2650 Ohm. Has anybody experienced problem with external ringers blowing up VG ports. Or is there any alternatives to the analog ringers that is designed to work with the Cisco VOIP phones. Thanks for any info anybody can supply.
I did get one of the Algo 8180 SIP Audio Alerters and it works great as an external ringer. Also since it has the capability of paging, we are trying to get it configured to use with our IPCelerate paging solution. Does anybody have any thoughts or ideas how to accomplish this. I can get it to page using a direct extension to the Algo device, but can not get it to receive pages from IPCelerate. Any help would be appreciated.

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account. Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices. You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

it only make sense.You can use your iTunes Store balance to purchase from the Mac App Store, but not from the Apple Online Store.
