Recommendations for an HDMI switch/hub for Apple TV 2012

This seems to be a sticky issue - and probably made worse by the release of the new Apple TV (March 2012) edition with 1080p.
I want to buy an HDMI switch/hub so I can plug three devices (Laptop/XBox 360/AppleTV) into my one free HDMI port - so I don't have to keep unplugging/re-plugging cables in.
I did some searching, and found a number of highly recommended HDMI switches/hubs including the Portta 3to1 switch (990 4+ star reviews), the Kinivo 5 port switch (267 4.5+ star reviews) and more.
However the naysayers in the reviews frequently comment on incompatibility / 'always on' behavior with Apple TV.
Having looked around the community here - it looks like the MonoPrice 5x1 switch used to be the favorite recommendation - but unless I'm reading the manufacturers specifications wrong - it doesn't support 1080p.
All I want is a decent quality switch that won't keep auto-switching to the wrong device. I'm completely happy (and maybe, if the always on stories are true) if the switch has NO auto-switch capability and just has a remote or physical button.

Thanks for the quick response Jon. Hmm. Your right, I tracked down the newest version of the device on monoprice.com and it does support 1080p and 3D. I read several reviews that suggested otherwise - but must have been referring to an old model. (One was on cnet.com) There were other people in the community talking about 1080p issues as well. Looks like the new model is called MonoPrice 5x1 Enhanced.

Consider an account "Fixed-Assets" supported by movement analysis in Custom1, as follows:
ClosingBalance
OpeningBalance
Additions
Disposals
If you mark the Custom1 member Disposals as SwitchSignForFlow, you will enter positive values in Disposals but HFM will subtract from the other two members to calculate the Closing Balance. You may use this functionality if your client prefers to see all values as positive on the reports.
Using the same example, you might recognize that while Closing and Opening balances are of balance type (they provide a snapshot of the account at a specific instant meaning that you see the same number whether you view the YTD or Periodic values of the account), Additions and Disposals are movements, which means that they accumulate during the same year starting from a zero balance on 1/1/201X and therefore you will see different numbers depending on viewing the YTD or Periodic values of the account. In order to provide with this behavior you have to mark both Additions and Disposals with SwitchTypeForFlow. If you don't they will behave as the underlying account (the Fixed-Assets account) and like the other two Custom1 members, Opening and Closing balance members.
As for the BalanceReccuring, an account of this type behaves like a normal Balance account, but once you input a number in an intermediate period (say June), the same number will be copied to all following periods (July-December) until you override the numbers by explicitly inputting new values. With a normal balance account, all following periods will be empty.

Recommend me an HDMI switch

I have an Apple TV 2 and a DVD player going into a TV with a single HDMI port. I have tried an automatic switch based on generally positive reviews on Amazon <http://tinyurl.com/3kufjjo>. I found that it simply refused to switch to the Apple TV while the DVD player was plugged in. Since it's a cheap switch, I'm happy to move on to something else, without wasting a lot of time trying to troubleshoot this one.
So, can anyone recommend an HDMI switch that has worked for them with this kind of setup? I'm feeling inclined toward a manual switch, but if there's an auto switch out there that is established as working well with the Apple TV, I'd like to know.

Only HDMI switch I've used was the Rocketfish from Best Buy ($99). I used it to connect Dish TVRO, BD, DVD, and TV to plasma HDTV. Chose this model as it included a remote control that allowed you to operate in either auto sensing or manual control modes. Worked well enough in the auto mode most of the time. Did have problems with power outages scrambling the auto sensing once or twice. Have since switched to Pioneer 1120 A/V Receiver which includes its own switching.

How many different devices (DVD player, cable box, etc.) do you have besides the Apple TV to connect to your TV? If you aren't going to use any of these others, you won't need a switcher.
Also, depending on the device & what other kinds of inputs your TV might have, you may be able to hook them up to other inputs besides your only HDMI one. The quality might be lower for them, & you might have to use several cables for sound & video, but that might end up being acceptable if you use your ATV much more often than the others.

Best usb hub for Apple Airport Extreme base station

Hi all does any one know which usb hub is the best to use with the apple airport extreme the 8.11n version?
Im aware i need a powered usb hub ideally im lookin for a 7 port hub and i think also its needs to be plug and play rather than needing a driver to be installed as this feature is not available on the router,

if i have a quicktime movie stored in the USB external hard drive and if i run that movie over the "connection" via the new airport extreme... would the movie by "choppy" or would it be as smooth as if the external hard-drive connected directly to computer?
Sorry, things like this are not possible to predict in advance since there are so many variables involved. But, your chances of a smooth connection will improve using "n" wireless speeds with the computer close to the wireless router.
I would not recommend trying to store images on a drive that is accessed only by wireless. My strong preference for any kind of video or image file storage is to have the drive hard wired to the computer and/or router.

Harmony one programming for HDMI switches

Looking for a quick answer to a few questions:: 1--i have a complete home theatre installed w/ a harmony one programmer, recently a added a HDMI switch in increase the amount of HDMI inputs that my Denon 2808ci in order to add a roku xs player.. A)-- the HDMI 4 port switcher with audio that states "has learnable harmony one codes" --Is it of worthwhile to have the harmony one controller coded for operating the HDMI switch ??? Actually, the Logitech Harmony family of remotes are rediculously easy to program. Install the software, connect the remote via usb cable, log into your account, and make any changes you need. Then the remote gets programmed over the internet.

Apple does not repl;ace the battery in your iPod. They exchange your iPod for a refurbished one with a new battery.

HDMI CEC support for Apple TV

When will HDMI CEC support arrive Apple TV? HDMI CEC is a must have for every HDMI connected device. Apples TV remote is horrible and with only one remote the TV experience will be much better.
