Recommended background courses

Hi All,
My company went live with SAP a year ago.  I was a business user at the time and on the implementation team.  A year later I am now the SAP Business Analyst (PP/MM/QM/PM) for my company.  All of my experience is with the functional side.  My undergraduate degree is in accounting. I have little to no technical experience.  Can anyone recommend some technical courses to take?  I'd like to understand a bit more of this side of things so that I can better explain our requirements to the technical staff (aka the geniuses that solve all our problems!).  Eventually I will self study some of the ABAP courses out there, but I thought I should start small.
Any recommendations would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!
Laura

Hello Laura,
I would recommend starting with SAPTEC class. Please find the details in the following link:

  • Does anyone know how to customize a Site page on SharePoint 2013? Also does anyone have any recommendations on course to take to learn this?

    Hello All,
I am new to using the 2013 SharePoint and want to customize the site pages that was set up by someone else. The problem is when i click on the site pages I only see the option to upload and new. So the pages that have been uploaded in the past i clicked
on them and when they come up it just shows the title of the site page with edit links button on the top.
So basically you are not able to do anything. Does anyone know if this is a permissions issue and if it is how do i give myself admin rights

    Hi,
From your description, you want to know how to edit a page in SharePoint 2013.
Go to the page->click Settings->Edit page, refer to the following screenshot:
If a user want to edit a page, he at least have edit permissions.
If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to let me know.
    Best Regards,

  • Course WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI

I had the opportunity to attend 'WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI' last month in Atlanta.  I understand it to have been the first time the course was offered in the US.
The course was great - here's a link to the official [description|https://training.sap.com/ca/en/course/wus581-wus581-tech-details-of-sap-crm-web-ui-classroom-095-us-en/] . I believe this was an adaptation of the material from the Deep Dive Series. I have to say, that it was pretty fast paced as well - you really need to keep up as much of the material built upon what was already taught.
The materials from the class are invaluable.  The labs were well done, and offered detailed solutions.  The labs were numerous, appropriate, and clean.  Most of the twenty exercises were cumulative.  I have since gone back to review some of the concepts, and the material stands well even outside of the classroom.
This course has given me a much better understanding of the bigger picture.  While I have not come from a CRM or BSP background, I have been working with webUI on a CRM 7.0 based SAP Custom Development Solution, [Fund Raising Management|http://www.sap.com/services/portfolio/customdev/brochures/index.epx] for about half a year.  So, I had at least been exposed to the workbench and some concepts over the previous six months.  This course really helped me tie some things together.
I just wanted to share my experience with the group...
    ...Mike

    Mike,
I'm curious to find out how did you find out that the course you took was scheduled. The reason why I'm asking is that I didn't even know that SAP even offered the course in the US, so I would have tried to attend myself if I found out about in advance.
Glad to see you recommended the course.  There isn't going to be much CRM related technical content at SAP Teched in Las Vegas this year,  however there may be at least one session attending (wink-wink), that's not listed yet.  I would still recommend that CRM development folks still attend teched, because there is plenty of great technical content that we can use regardless.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Course follow up out of order, incorrect Qualification dates

    Hello,
I have a situation where courses followed up out of order results in qualifications with incorrect start and end dates.
    Background
    - Course Type imparts Qualification.  Qualification is valid until 12/31/9999.
    - Course Type has 3 courses (A = 1/1/2011,  B = 2/1/2011, C = 3/1/2011)
    - Person enrolls in each of the 3 courses
    Scenario
    - Course A is followed up. Person has Qualification for 1/1/2011-12/31/9999. Correct.
    - Course C is followed up. Person now has Qualification for 1/1/2011-2/28/2011 and a new record for 3/1/2011-12/31/9999. Correct.
    - Course B is followed up. Person now has Qualification for 1/1/2011-1/31/2011 and 2/1/2011-12/31/9999.  No new record was created. Incorrect.
There should be a qualification entry for each course attempt.
    - Course A should impart Qualification for 1/1/2011-1/31/2011
    - Course B should impart Qualification for 2/1/2011-2/28/2011
    - Course C should impart Qualification for 3/1/2011-12/31/9999
If Course C followed up again, the qualification dates are correct, but this is a manual process (i.e. admin needs to re-follow up all the later courses in order).  Is there a programmatic way to ensure the qualification dates match the course dates when followed up out of order?
    Thanks,
    RM

I am very interested in this thread because I have encountered a similar problem with BLOB columns, except that I am also seeing this with CLOB's.
Essentially the all the data gets 'migrated', but the CLOB and BLOB columns are all mixed up!
    Any solutions?

  • Course of actions

    Hello,
I just got a new assignment at a company where an OIM system has been in place since 2009. The current system is running on JBOSS and version 9.0.3. The designe console shows a version conflict in production.
Both test and dev environments are broken. Someone attempted to install OIM 9.1.0.1 on test. Dev has a copy of production that dates at least 8 months ago.
I don't have the full pictures yet but the previous implementations looked pretty shaky. It looks like ootb schedule tasks got customized. Triggers were added directly to the tables. Who knows what have been done.
I am currently concentrating on understanding the functionality more than trying to fix anything.
Once I get over this analysis, I would recommend a course of actions. We would like to have a copy of production in DEV to put in fixes and test them.
The next step would be to use TEST to (1) install weblogic, (2) install 9.1.0.1 and (3) upgrade OIM to 9.1.0.2 and patch it to the latest patch.
Of course, we would like to salvage what can be salvaged.
How about the option of starting from scratch by installing OIM 11 g? Is 11g stable enough now?
Thanks for giving me your input on this. I have always started on a green field during my previous implementation. This is my first project going into an existing one that was not implemented by someone I know.
    Thanks
    Khanh

    Hello,
I checked the xsd table in production and found that bundle patch 12 was applied. The documentation talked about patch 11. I am guessing the doc got out of sync.

The reason it is pointless to submit the crash log here is because nowhere does it tell you which clip, which title/event/generator/transition, or any other named portion of your project FCPX died in. It is literally no help whatsoever to you, only to Apple engineers trying to debug the software. When it crashes, fill out what you were doing when it crashed 'cause even *they* need a hint!  All we can discern is that FCPX crashed on Thread 14 on BGTask: MEBackgroundLoadManager and right before that was a call for a dynamically linked library. That could be anything... but my guess would be an "effect" (possibly with a corrupt font.) If you knew which effect you were "playing with" when FCPX crashed (or even if you simply moused over one), you could go in and remove it temporarily; restart FCPX and (if you get that far) delete the "red-screen alert" item from the project. If there was a corrupt font involved -- get rid of it! (You can analyze fonts in Font Book) and afterwards, you can re-add whatever effect was removed. [For clips, you can take them "offline" temporarily by moving them out of the event folder... I don't recommend this course of action, I don't believe the "base video" would ever be an issue if it were transcoded on or before import... only trying to use H.264 "raw" would be something that might "choke" FCPX.]
In my experience, the things that bring down FCPX: corrupt fonts used for any text (FCPX will die immediately even if you pass over them with the mouse on your way to selecting something else - you might not even know which font that was either); Motion effects I'm developing that push the envelope a little too far (but that would be just for me I try to make sure they're stable before releasing them to the public -- but this implies other 3rd party effects that might not be so stringently checked out); and not much else. [Other possibilities I usually place "outside of FCPX" - such as launching other memory hungry apps while FCPX is open... etc. Poor(er) memory management in other apps might overwrite RAM buffered data and cause a "fault"...]
If you *know* what exactly offended FCPX, there are (usually) steps you can take to remove the offending "software" and upon reopening FCPX, FCPX will make necessary substitutions (defaulting fonts, putting up the "red alert" screen, etc...)
**OR** much easier: use Andy's tip about getting to the last backup. (Tip: if you do have corrupt fonts, using backups all the time isn't really going to help you that much.)
[You would think that after over 20 years of dealing with bitmapped, PostScript and Truetype fonts Apple would have developed a way of "intercepting" problems that arise... but NOOOOOOOO! We are *still* at the mercy of corrupted fonts. PS - Ditto for Motion!   (ok, i'll be gettin' down from my soapbox now...)]

  • Migrate file server to Mac OS X

    Hey guys!
Little bit of help needed. We run a windows ADS domain. On our Primary Domain Controller we have email, authentication, and file shares all on one machine. We want to take off file share and put it on a Xserve we have laying around. What i need help doing is setting up samba user storage based on Active Directory users. So when they login and authenticate with the windows server it maps there home network share from the Xserve. Any help? i can give more info if needed. BTW first time working with Mac OS X Server. Coming from an IT team that likes to work with strict windows. I am the only mac user

As much as I'd like to, I can't recommend this course of action.
For an all-Windows network, relying on Windows-based technologies such as Active Directory, SMF/CIFS and the like, a Mac server is going to be a long, hard slog.
That's not to say it can't be done, but it can probably be done easier with another Windows server.
    Things to consider:
You have to get it right first time.
As the only Mac user, you're going to be the one that gets the calls (and the blame) whenever the server doesn't work as expected. Unless that's in your job description and you're confident in being able to solve any issue quickly, you're just asking for trouble and will alienate the Windows users so they'll never come over to the light side.
Given that you're looking at hosting home directories, this means that any problem is going to quickly escalate since you're affecting peoples' ability to work.
The Mac's Samba server is a poor cousin to a native Windows server. It doesn't support large file systems (> 2TB) and may still have issues with large files (>4GB).
If you do want to get a Mac server running, start small, running a subset of services that let you test the waters and learn the system yourself, without business-critical impact if it doesn't work. Once you're comfortable with this you can look to extend the Mac's reach. Don't try and jump in with such an ambitious project without the background to make it succeed.

  • Why does paintbrush not work on images opened from Bridge?

This problem may be due to another cause but the most common occurance is when an image is opened from Bridge so I've posted it here.  Here are the details.
I have had tons of problems with CS4 on my desktop PC but seem to have most of them resolved with a new video card, updated driver  and help from an earlier thread.  In fact, I thought all problems solved but this one has persisted.  If it matters I'm running Windows XP service pack 3, 4gb of RAM of which 3.4 is available.  It has an 2.67 GHz Intel Core2Duo cpu.
If I open CS4 and open an image, all paintbrush tools (paintbrush itself, clone tool, healing tools, etc) work fine.  Sometimes I can work for hours with no problems.  Other times these tools simply stop working.   When this happens seems random.  For example, the other day as long as I did not send anything to print, all worked fine but after printing a few images the tools stopped.  Other times I've printed and the tools still worked.  Sometimes if I open images direct in Photoshop using file -> open, all is well but as soon as I launch an image from Bridge, tools don't work.  Other times launching from Bridge works fine, BUT more often than not, it seems to occur after launching from Bridge, hence the post here as I already noted.  I've tried to trace down a common set of circumstances but it is too erratic.
What is interesting also is that the use of the tool shows up in the history panel as a step taken.  There just is no visible effect on the image.  This problem has been present since CS4 was originally installed along with several other problems.  In the course of attempting to solve them all, I have deleted preferences and allowed them to rebuild, I have actually uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop multiple times.
More confounding is that CS4 works fine on a clunky old laptop with less RAM and a much, much older video card.  I also, as a test, ran the 30 day trial on the computer I'm using here.  It too is older and less RAM and that worked fine too.  So it seems to be saying there is something wrong with the computer used for photo editing or the video card.  Don't think it's the card.  I bought a new one.  It didn't solve any problems so I bought another and it corrected many of the other issues I was having.  Indeed after installing the latest drivers for this card, absolutely everything worked perfectly for almost two days but now this paintbrush tool issue is back.
So what the heck can be going on that is cumulative or is there a hardware component that is erratic or have I missed something in CS4?  Man I love the power of the program and the improvements since CS3 but if I have to shut it down and restart it every single image, clearly that is not feasible.
    Many thanks for any help.

Well, now I'm an idiot.  I fired up without the tablet plugged in and
paintbrush worked fine on all files.  I then left the image open I had just
painted on, plugged in the tablet with pc still running, no paintbrush
function using tablet mouse.  Without unplugging the tablet I again tried
the regular mouse and paintbrush worked fine.  So it's not a matter of any
sort of conflict with the tablet being active, it sure looks like a tablet
malfunction.  It still mystifies my how this tablet is so smart it can tell
the difference between psd and jpg but there it is...can't argue with
results.  Still, one last thing confounds me and that is the tablet works
fine on all file types in CS3 and every other app I have.  If there was a
malfunction with the tablet, wouldn't you think it would misbehave on all
apps?  Could it be that the tablet needs a new driver?  You must've had a
clue to recommend this course of action.  Now that we're here, what do you
suggest or should that be another thread?
By the way, if it matters I had already upgraded vc drivers and CS to 11.0.1
    before this started.

  • How do I clean up iTunes Mobile Applications folder that has old versions of apps?

I am using the latest iTunes 11.0.3 on my recently new iMac. Previously I had iTunes on my MacPro. The media folder was located on one of the extra (non-boot) volumes on the MacPro (MP). When I got my iMac I changed (in the Advanced section of Preferences) the location of the media folder to point to the same folder on the MP volume as I had been using. Everything seems to work fine. I can plug in my iPhone 4s and sync which goes thru a backup step.
I was then poking around in the iTunes media folder on the MP and found that the Mobile Applications (MA) folder was full of older versions of the apps on my iPhone. They dated back to 2009, 2010 and most were 2011. A few were 2012 or 2013. I would like to get rid of the old versions as they take up space. Being that old I doubt they are useful for anything anyway. But my question is how?
I have read and searched for other threads on this topic and have not found a solution. It appears that iTunes is supposed to toss old versions into the trash. I suspect it is doing that now but for some reason has lost track of these older version. The problem here is I don't know what happened.
My inclination is to take all these app .ipa files and dump them... then do an iPhone sync and have it repopulate this MA folder. But I wasn't sure iTunes would do that. So I selected one app that is currently installed on my iPhone, found several older .ipa files in the MA folder that correspond to that app and deleted all of them. I then sync'd my iPhone and watched it go thru the Backup step. When it was done I checked my MA folder but it still had NO .ipa file for that app. Why is that? To make sure the backup step didn't place it someone unexpected, I did a system wide search for that app name (the core part of the name, not including any version numbers, etc) but it found only one match. It was old (2011) located on an all-together different MA folder so did not come from this iPhone sync.
I wish someone would clearly document what goes on during an iPhone sync when the backup location is iTunes (not iCloud). Does iTunes store the current version of each app in the MA folder? I didn't see that happen in my example above.
What does it mean to remove all .ipa files from your MA folder? It would seem that it doesn't matter EXCEPT for apps no longer available in the App Store. Otherwise I could re-install them, right?
What can I delete safely without ill consequences?
How can i indentify what to remove if I should keep the latest version around?
    Help would be appreciated.
    To be clear:
    * I use iTunes to store my Backups, not iCloud.
    * I have used Consolidate after making sure that Keep iTunes Media Folder Organizaed is checked and Copy File to iTunes Media folder is checked. It did not help here.
    * Given the dates of the .ipa files in my MA folder, this problem pre-dated my recent addition of my iMac.
    * I believe I'm using a new local (to my iMac) iTunes library file but my media folder is on the MP as described above. When I access iTunes app on my MP it too accesses the same media folder. It is used primarily for adding music and movies to, not iPhone apps as I now sync on the iMac.

ITunes has been a disaster for me.  It is filled with all sorts of things and there is no way to reorganize any of it.  I'm forced to use iTunes because I have an iPhone but the experience has convinced me that it is best to avoid Apple products and I would recommend that course for others.
The operative word here is "avoid."  For products like the iPhone and iPad for which Apple has a superior product there is no choice.  The problem is Apple control.  That means that everything is compatible with everything else which is good.  It also means that everything is limited to products that serve Apple's bottom line, which is questionable.
Hopefully, now that Apple's creative genius has sadly left us, other companies will step forward to create products that will allow us to avoid the complications of Apple.  I have found iTunes to be the principal complication.  iTunes regularly updates itself, practically every Sunday, and then I have to restart my computer which interrupts all the tasks that I have underway.
Despite all these updates I don't use iTunes except for the iPhone and even that is problematic.  The entire experience makes me glad that I don't have an Apple since it must be very difficult for Apple users to work with Apple constantly demanding updates and restarts and proprietary software and the like.
If you're not an Apple customer, but you've been listening their hype with their execs pacing a stage clad in jeans, then read this and heed.  My experience with iTunes is a warning for all.  Watch out.  Apple is not your friend.  It's a corporation bent on control, monopoly power and coerced profiteering.  We may all soon need nets to save us when Apple drives us out the window.

  • Best practice implementation. What are the steps for this?.

We had an upgrade from CRM 4 to 7 undertaken by some outfit (name deleted). After the upgrade was complete it would look as though the comapny carried on using the GUI interface rather than the WebUI interface, mainly because that's how CRM 4 worked. Now they would like to use the WebUI interface of CRM 7, as the GUI interface is no longer supported, but are receiving a number of errors when using certain features of teh WebUI. It would look as though a lot of config is missing, especially in the UI Framework area. I can only assume that whichever company performed the upgarde simply skipped this section when upgrading.
I assume that I could download the best practice install/upgrade (?) and then just execute the section regarding the UI Framework, if such a section exists. bearing in mind that there seems to be a lot of config missing in the UI Framework section, would you recommend the course of action that I have mentioned?.
Our WebUI Interaction centre is giving errors when we go in and I have been informed that I need to complete the config for:
Customer Relationship Management->UI Framework->UI Framework Definition->Maintain Runtime Framework Profile
But as I mentioned, there are lots of other sections in the UI Framework area that are empty and hence the suggestion I made above. Hopwever, I would specifically be interested to hear from anyone who can tell me what the entries are in the view table BSPWDV_RF_PROF_C and possibly the table BSPWDV_CTRL_REPL and BSPWDV_DEF_CC.
I know this only completes part of the config, but it might be enough so that the WebUI IC can be viewed.
On another subject, I have just come into this company and if I wanted to see what had been installed how do I go about that. for example, if I wanted to know if there had been an upgrade from 4 to 7 for a particular Industry solution, where do I check this?.
    Jason

I have been through the following steps:
    Entered this URL http://help.sap.com/bp/initial/index.htm
    Clicked on 'Cross-industry Packages'
    Clicked on 'CRM'
    Clicked on 'Englilsh'
Then the following page is displayed:
    http://help.sap.com/bp_crm70/CRM_DE/HTML/index.htm displayed
But now what?. How do I get the Best practice instructions for a CRM implemenation?.

  • Ipod not showing in Itunes and Windows 7

    The Fix
I uninstalled everything that was Apple related and reinstalled Itunes with no loss to my data.
Once reinstalled, both the ipod is now showing in itunes and everything is working fine now.
I hope this helps anyone else out with the same problem of an ipod not charging, not showing in Windows 7 and not showing in itunes.

Glad that it works but if you read the threads, usually that is tried and suggested/recommended, of course, but fails to solve the problems.
Also, Devices and Printers is a good place to start and look there to even see if Widnows detects iPod but also has an error exclamation and "error."
I'll say this, Apple Safari and iTunes and iPod support software, can be the most buggy sofware I use on Windows with more problems and issues. Shame.
Tried to or accidently pluged iPod Touch 4G into one of my other PCs and had issue when I brought it back over. Use of inferior quality 3rd party cable might also be blamed.
iTunes video playback, movies and music video, would hang, freeze, go into a "wait chain" (better with Windows 8 Dev Preview, but that is PRE-BETA!).
Apple Common Support Software issues, which 2.0 version can be a problem. Used by iTunes and Safari. Seems like iTunes was better before installing Safari. Two PCs and they are almost 200% identical as can be, but Safari would hang.
May need to remove Apple folders in AppData (move to safe place) if there is a problem there.

  • Can't format my macbook pro using the instructions on here or google or youtube. Please Help!!

I'm trying to format my macbook pro using OS X 10.5.8. I've tried all the instructions that I could find, but still no luck.
    Instructions examples:
    1) Go into disk utility and erase the hard drive.
Problem: when I do that, it doesn't let me because the erase button is in the "greyed", so I can't click on that.
    2) Restart the computer and hold down "c" and follow the instrctions...
Problem: I did that, but it just restart normally, it doesn't take me to some special screen.
    3) Restart with the Mac OS CD installer and hold down "c" as it reboots.
    Problem: same as number 2.
    4) Restart and hold down "option" - disk utility - erase HD
Problem: I did that, and the hard drive icon with the arrow pointing up pops up; however, when I click on it, it just boot up as usual, and when I go into disk utility, I had the same problem as number 1.
This is really frustrating!! Please help!!
    Thanks all!

That only works for other drives/partitions, you can't format or erase the boot drive/volume/partition obviously.
    2) Restart the computer and hold down "c" and follow the instrctions...
Problem: I did that, but it just restart normally, it doesn't take me to some special screen.
No disk inserted, you need a bootable disk to use the c key at boot.
    3) Restart with the Mac OS CD installer and hold down "c" as it reboots.
    Problem: same as number 2.
Perhaps you held it too late.
    4) Restart and hold down "option" - disk utility - erase HD
Problem: I did that, and the hard drive icon with the arrow pointing up pops up; however, when I click on it, it just boot up as usual, and when I go into disk utility, I had the same problem as number 1.
The option key held at boot gives you Startup Manager, which gives you a choice of bootable options provided the boot cd is inserted obviously.
If you didn't wait for the cd boot option to appear and clicked the hard drive and arrow right away, it's possible you missed the cd boot option as it takes a bit longer to appear on the screen.
If you went all over the above and can't boot from the 10.5 cd, then what likely occured is your operating system was upgraded to a later OS X version like 10.6 or later and the firmware has been updated to ignore booting or recognizing that 10.5 boot disk as that operating system is now obsolete.
Another option is your using the wrong 10.5 disk, like it's from another model of Mac with different hardware drivers, thus can't be used on your machine.
Sometimes the disk is a retail copy, but is only for compatible Mac's that came PRIOR to the release of the retail disk, obviously not for Mac's that came afterwards because of new hardware drivers not on the burned disk.
If your machine is on 10.4, it might not have enough RAM for 10.5.
If your machine is on 10.5 now, then you should be able to boot from the disk that came with the machine, unless it's defective, scratched or dirty.
If your Mac is a Intel processor Mac, then you should be using 10.6 at least now, it's still getting updates to 10.6.8 (not for Safari or Java 6, but you can disable both and use Firefox)
Usually a 10.5 issued Mac is too old for the later OS X versions of 10.7 and later, perhaps the MacPro tower being the rare exceptions.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
Also usually a 10.5 era issued Mac is beyond it's end of life stage, likely to die soon and not worth spending great sums of money to upgrade RAM and all software for 10.7 and beyond, your better off buying a new machine for 10.7+ or use it on 10.6.8 max until it drops dead or sell it online.
You didn't state your Mac's model identifier, it can be gleamed from System Profiler or Apple menu > About this Mac > More information.
With the model identifier, current operating system version running and the RAM amount installed, we can look up the machine on our database and recommend a course of action or if you cannot install 10.5 on that machine.

  • How can I specify different settings in CustomSettings.ini based on the OS that is being deployed?

I originally thought this could be achieved using "OSVersion" or "OSCurrentVersion" but (unless I'm mistaken) those variables are in fact tied to the OS from witch you actually launch the MDT Wizard right? i.e. say I run MDT from within
Windows PE to deploy Windows 8. The "OSVersion" and "OSCurrentVersion" will contain values for the Windows PE instance that is currently running MDT and not the Windows 8 OS I am actually deploying right? Assuming that is the case then
is there some variable in MDT that stores version information about the OS you are currently deploying? If so can I use that in CustomSettings.ini to specify different settings for specific OSes I deploy?

    Rens,
First thanks for responding. Next please don't take my response the wrong way but this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Maybe I'm just "doing it wrong" but I have used the TaskSequenceID trick in the past and thats actually where my problem lies.
Too many people are recommending this course of action without including the caveats. Your response implies that using TaskSequenceID is as simple as just adding "TaskSequenceID" to priority and then creating entries based on the TSIDs themselves.
In reality getting this to work is far more challenging. One needs to only check the following threads (and several others) for the issues other people are having when they try to use TaskSequenceID in CustomSettings.ini:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e17a1952-d1f7-41ef-8231-0d6fcc41882e/mdt-2012-settings-per-task-sequence?forum=mdt#f0810428-e6fd-468e-8c76-ca18b210c191
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/320aafee-07d2-4b96-9138-a902fec7edf5/mdt-2012-custom-rules-by-tasksequenceid-not-working-now
In fact, following the steps outlined here was the *only* way I was able to get TaskSequenceID to work for me:
    http://www.the-d-spot.org/wordpress/2012/07/20/how-to-use-different-settings-per-task-sequence-with-mdt-2012/
Even then its causing some erratic issues in some areas like button lag in the Wizard because ZTIGather has to run twice and pre-checked Applications in the wizard still installing even if they are unchecked. Since my needs are more OS-specific (as opposed
to Task Sequence specific) I was hoping for a better solution. I suppose I can check BDD.log but I was hoping someone here had already encounter this same issue and hit upon a solution they could share.
    Anyone?

  • Can I upgrade from Tiger straight to Snow Leo ?

    Howdy folks !
My MBP is still on Tiger but I feel the urge to upgrade to SL.
Will I be able to upgrade straight to SL or do I need to install Leo first ?
I have the SL family pack if that makes a difference.
    TIA

Yes you can upgrade however a fresh install is recommended
Of course, the transition isn’t guaranteed to be as smooth as it would be from Leopard to Snow Leopard," the report said of the Tiger to Snow Leopard upgrade, "and that’s because some older, Tiger-only third-party applications need to be upgraded to newer versions that work with Leopard or Snow Leopard.

  • Brand new 5G 30 GB stutters on various different 320 Kbps mp3's  2G not

    I just got a new 5G ipod, I also have a 2G 10 Gb ipod.
I love the device but noticed that, while playing 320 Kbit files the ipod stutters and jumps a fractions pf a seconds at random mp3's But it allways does this in the same place.
So plaing the track again gets a jump at the same time. Playing the track with foobar2000 on windows XP the track does not skip neither under itunes as under winamp. it only stutters on my ipod.
playing the same file on my 2G 10 Gb ipod if fine NO PROBLEMS
playing the same files on my 5G 30 Gb ipod STUTTERING
    What could this be ?

Still no idea where I went wrong?
Well at this point you've shown me where iTunes thinks the file should be, but not where it actually is... I asked for both halves of the equation to see why it's not working and recommend a course of action.
Do I take it that your general storage pattern is K:\<Album>\## - <Name>.<Ext>? If so my script FindTracks should be able to locate "lost" tracks, provided they are still there.
Obviously not having a backup that you could restore is another mistake.
Rolling backup to old build of iTunes, or uninstalling & reinstalling the current one, won't fix a logical problem within the library. Restoring a backup of the database might. Most iTunes updates upgrade the library schema and a copy of the old library is made in the Previous iTunes Libaries folder. It should be possible to replace the current library file with an older copy at which point it will be upgraded again. Normally this is successful, though you lose data such as recent ratings, playcounts and imports.
