Recommended Graphics card and processor for Equium L20-264

Hi,
I was wondering what graphics cards are compatiable with equium l20-264 because i have a standard ATI eXpress radeon 200M (rubbish) and wanted to upgrade my graphics card but i am a beginner i have upgraded my ram but really need a upgrade for my graphics card for a batch of games for vista (you are probably thinking how i got vista on a non-vista laptop ^_^)
I also wondered if i coould upgrade my proccesor to a better one something like 1.0 GHZ to 2.5 GHZ but a celeron one so i don't have to get a new motherboard.

Hi
I will not recommend any graphic cards for this unit because its generally not possible to replace or upgrade the graphic card chip on the notebooks.
The CPU upgrade could be possible.
The CPUs on the newer generation of notebook motherboards are not soldered and it could be possible to remove it.
BUT the CPU upgrades are not advisable because
- firstly you will lose the warranty and
- secondly the notebook could run unstable because of the higher temperature.
However, I found some compatible Intel Celeron-M CPUs which are supported by motherboard:
Intel Celeron-M 350 (1.30GHz) FSB: 400MHz
360 (1.40GHz)
370 (1.50GHz)
380 (1.60GHz)
bye

  • Upgrading Graphics Card and Processor

I'm wanting to upgrade my graphics card and processor. Now I don't play many games, but I would like to max out LOTRO and maybe some games on steam like portal/doom3/etc...
    My motherboard is an
    Manufacturer: Foxconn H-RS880-uATX
    HP: Aloe-GL8E
I've already decided I'm upgrading my processor to the Phenom II X4-830. Right now I have the AMD Athlong dual core 3.0ghz.
And I'm upgrading my RAM from 4GB to 8GB this week.
The only thing I'm having a hard time finding is what the best graphics card I can get for my motherboard. I've checked all the FPS benchmarks for the ones HP recommends, but they don't seem better than what I have now which is the ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB.

Please identify your HP desktop with its product name. Is it a Pavilion p6230y desktop?
In the HD 5000 series  the 5750 is definitely better than a HD5450.
The HD6850 would definitely do the trick, but you would also have to upgrade your PSU to something beefier.
The Phenom II X4-830 will have to be a Deneb core for it to work with your motherboard.
If your operating system is a 64-bit one then upgrading RAM to 8GB  will be worthwhile.
If the OS is 32-bit then you will be wasting your hard-earned money since the OS was designed to use only @3.25 GB of RAM.
    Kind regards,

  • Graphics card and processor

Would you reccomend the 2.0GHz or the 2.4GHz processor? Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card once you buy the iMac? Do you ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB memory people get good or better than average graphics? Same question for you ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory people. In case your wondering I don't plan to play to much games and I use lots of programs at once (iTunes, Mail application, Safari, Word,).

No you cannot upgrade the GPU as it's soldered directly to the logic board. I'd definitely go for the 2.4GHz Radeon HD 2600. Even if you don't need the extra speed boost now it's nice to have in the future in case you decide you want to run more intensive Applications.

But in my Mac Pro 3,1 I installed an ATI 5770 and it works great. Drop it in, reboot, done.
Althogh, when you go to purchase it from Apple's on-line store, the compatibitlity show a Mac Pro mid 2010. I'm not sure why, that troubles all the rest of the Mac Pro users.
I'm assuming the 5870 would work as well. That provides more GPU memory, but I'm not sure what impact that has on FCP X.

  • Iq771 inactive graphics card and no help from hp!!!

My iq771 is dead.  I took it to pc world as it is out of warranty and after a hardware diagnostics test they told me there was a problem with the graphics card either broken or inactive.
I called the hp support line and after great difficultly was given an out of warranty repair service that hp utilise.  I explained what had happened and they told me that they had been informed by hp escalation complaints service that they no longer supported the graphics card or screen on the touchsmart iq771.  It was irrepairable.  They gave me the name of the manager at escalation complaints, Grant Cyster, and after many calls and reassurances that they would call me back, i have yet to hear from them.
I have an iq771 that is three years two months old, it cost £1099, and it is now irrepairable.  Surely this machine is not fit for purpose!!
    Any advice greatly appreciated
    Techno b

hey hope this gets to you before you trash it.   If the machine powers on and you hear no beeps you are in good shape.
There is a known issue ( at least with the community, hp will never admit ) with the nvidia 7600 go graphics card burning out on this unit.  luckily the motherboard comes with a built in nvidia 6150 go, you just have to switch the right cable to it.  now getting to it is hell on this computer if you have never opened it before.
I will not go into how to remove the back cover in front of the HD and the bottom panel, as HP has these on their website under how to change the Memory and hard drive on this unit.     The real tricky part to this operation is that there are two hidden screws on the bottom right front of the unit under a sticker.  the sticker doesnt actually look like a sticker, its the label for the front audio and usb inputs.  after these are out and you have removed the optical drive and one screw on the right side close to the bezel, the plastic assembly should slide out giving you access to the graphics card and processor.
You dont actually have to remove the burned out card, you just need to look for a pinout and cable labeled lsvd1 and lsvd2 (not sure if that's the exact name but its close)
which should be located on the left side in the front.  switch the cable to lsvd2 and you are done.  reset the bios if you have not already and it should come up.    do a reinstall from system recovery if you still have the original hard drive

  • Upgrading graphics card and ram on late 2011 macbook pro?

Hi. I have a late 2011 macbook pro, and I wanted to know if i could upgrade my graphics card and ram for better performance while gaming. I play WoW and diablo 3 and often notice lag and can only run on low settings. So my graphics are Intel HD 3000 which is integrated, and i was wondering if i could upgrade to a graphics card like AMD or nvidia. Also, would upgrading from 4 gb of ram to 8gb of ram help my performance? Thanks.

You cannot upgrade the graphics card on your MBP. It is soldered to the logic board.
RAM can be increased to 8 or 16 GB.  The correct specifications are;  204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
The best vendors for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
    Ciao.

  • What is a recommended Graphics card for G4MDD running tiger and sometimes..

What is a recommended Graphics card for G4MDD running tiger and sometimes 9.2.2
I really need to have both in accelerated mode, looking at my stats I currently have 9000 PRO with 64mb ram... don't need it for games but high end graphics applications currently using Starta Pro 2.5.3 on 9.2.2 which for my current purposes is afficient

The 9600 runs like crap in OS 9.2.2 with any ATI software you can find because ATI never wrote OS 9 drivers for the 9600. OS 9 ATI software does not recognize the card. You get a basic 2D monitor output that is soft, dull, slightly off-color, and cannot be enhanced with the Monitor's Control Panel calibration utility.
If you spend any amount of time in OS 9.2.2 or you want to use OS 9.2.2 for any of your old games (even 2-D video clip type games), don't get the 9600.
I have a 9600 installed in my MDD G4 and now have an original Radeon for Mac PCI video card installed as well. When I want to use any of my OS 9 games, I move the DVI cable from my LCD monitor over to the old Radeon card and restart.

  • Recommended Graphics Cards for Encore / Premiere

    Hi-Dee-Ho Everybody:
I started a thread yesterday regarding trouble I am having with Encore CS4, specifically, my "Monitor" window just stops, well, monitoring after a short time while manipulating fairy straight forward 720x480 AVI files. Rather than reiterate it all, here's the link:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/555265?tstart=0
It's a new system that I'm using. I had been using Encore successfully for the last 6 months on an older, slower machine - Windows XP Home, 4GB memory, ONE processor core.
Everything about the new system should improve the performance of Encore: 8GB of memory, Quad Core, 2.5GHz a HUGE harddrive. The only two things that I see could be the cause of my new problems are:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
Different Graphics Card (Intel G43/G45 Express)
I've updated EVERYTHING: Windows 7, display drivers, card drivers, the Roxio PX Engine (4.18.16a). All that's done.
I've heard from many people that they are getting along fine with Windows 7. I am leaning towards this graphics card as the problem. The system was, overall, a great deal but I neglected to ask about the the amount of graphics memory in it.It's just one of those mother board embedded scenarios. I don't know if I should expect much from it.
So, I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this "card". If not, I was wondering if there was a recommended graphics card for Encore and Premiere. A minimum recommendation for graphics memory?
    Thanks!
    Mark Roberts,
    Toronto

    Mark,
Many have had problems with embedded Intel graphics chips and various Adobe programs.
For the vast majority, replacing that with either an ATI, or nVidia, has solved the issue.
Though it is overkill for general NLE and authoring, I love my nVidia Quadro FX-4500-512MB has worked perfectly. It is older, and more than you need.
On my laptop, my nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB has also performed very well.
One is a higher-end, albeit older, 3-D card, and the other, a "mobile" card. What I am getting at is that most of the offerings from ATI, or nVidia should work perfectly, and better than the Intel chip - plus either source will provide many more new drivers, and in a much more timely fashion, than the Intel.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Graphics card and motherboard bios

i have recently purchased a hp pavillion p6 2371ea, trying to play a game i realised the new pc was not up to spec. having now bought a nividia gtx 650 ti im struggling to get it to work. the machine already has an intergrated graphics card in it. ive tried to find the right option in bios to disable the intergrated graphics card. the problem is the joshua h61-uatx motherboard doesnt have the option of the graphics card and the ability to disable it. any ideas as to how i can over come this issue?

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2371ea Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model shipped with Windows 8 and a 300 watt power supply. To use the GTX 650 Ti you will need to upgrade the power supply to a 500 watt or 600 watt unit. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are known to fir most HP comsumer desktop computer cases and come highly recommended. The next thing you need to do is DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the BIOS. Doing these things should resolve your issue.

  • Graphics Card and Performance in CS Suite

    Hi,
Do graphics card affect performance across the CS3 Adobe Creative Suite?
One of the Macs I currently use is a Powermac Dual Core 2.3 with GE Force 6600 256mb.
I will shortly be investing in a new Mac Pro for a new city studio opening next month. I see these have ATI 256mb cards as standard with upgradable options.
I have read complaints on many forums talking about the new Mac Pro that it is fitted with a bog standard cheap graphics card. Is this right?
Does graphics card affect performance in apps such as for example, In design. Say I have a 36 page A4 brochure open and I'm scrolling through the pages. What would speed up the on-screen rendering, a faster processor or graphics card?
Or are fast graphics cards just meant for 3d work?
    Cheers
    S

The power of high end cards is mostly in 3D rendering. 2D performance is enhanced in cards with wider memory bandwidth but is often limited by CPU performance ( aka CPU bound ).

  • PCI-E graphics card and system memory conflict.

    Hello,
I have a bit of a strange problem with my new system build.
All my parts work fine when used by them selves.
    MSI KN8 diamond.
    Athlon 3200 64bit 939 Winchester.
    Crucial Ballistix PC4000 memory.
    Inno3D 6800GT PCI-E
    Thermaltake purepower 680W.
The problem arises when I try and use both the memory and graphics card card at the same time, the system does not post stating a memory problem.  I know both work as I’m able to post when either is removed i.e when running with a standard PCI graphics card or when the memory is swapped. I’ve checked out a lot of forums over the last 2 weeks and I know there are a lot of people out there running with the same memory.  I’ve tried under clocking the memory with no success. Can anyone shed any light on this problem as I’ve never had a conflict between a graphics card and memory before.
    Thanks John

Need to make a couple of changes as there appears to be a possible issue with the loading of the Optimized Default setting in the bios, and I quote from MSI:
     Quote
After loading the Optimized Default, the memory setting values will be optimized to achieve better performance. It is, however, likely to cause problems of compatibility.
Which seems to be the exact issue you are experiencing.  First thing I would do is to manually set your vdimm to 2.8v in the bios.  This will make sure that your memory is getting the correct voltages as the AUTO setting usually sets memory to 2.5v.  This alone could eliminate your problem, but I think you'll have to comb through your memory timings and reset them, (Crucial lists 2.5-4-4-8 @ DDR500 speeds, so I'd try 2-3-3-6 or 2.5-3-3-6 for DDR400 speeds).
There is also an official bios 1.1 for your board, and a beta (5.01) from the Diamond Club.  I'd stay with the official releases for the time being (until you get your board up and running properly).

  • Graphics card and CD problems

    Hello,
I recently partitioned my hard drive into two primary partitions and installed Solaris 9 x86 on one of them.
The first problem I had was kdmconfig. I have an nVidia GeForce4 graphics card, and it was not listed - only up to geforce3 was listed. I tried that, but the test did not work. I got an error (something about InitScreen and SUNWnvidia). I eventually chose the topmost option (16 colors at 640x480) and that one tested fine, but obviously, its a horrible display. How would I get a Solaris driver for my GeForce4? I believe I would need it on a floppy (or a series of floppies) so that I can choose Add Driver and use the floppies. However, I do not know where to find these drivers.
Secondly, after it prompted me to insert CD2, it gave me an error saying CD2 could not be read. I burned the CD2 image at 20x (rather than the normal 40x) and it still gave me this error. How do I get past it?
Finally, Solaris has blocked my entrance to Windows XP. When I start up my computer, I get a SunOS blue-background with two choices: the Solaris partition and my Windows partition. Choosing my windows partition gives me an error (saying some sig file could not be found) and choosing the Solaris partition starts the device configuration manager which eventually leads me to the desktop login screen (black and white, horrible resolution). How do I get to Windows XP?
Thanks a lot for your help.

I am having a similar issue. Let me know if you find a solution.
