Recommended overclocked settings for Ti 4200 with AGP8X?

I was wondering which are the best settings or recommended for overclocking a Ti4200 with AGP 8X.
I searched and notice that people talk about how to when to'???.. but no one says what is the recommendation.. or jsut i have to begin trying numbers and see what happens??..
Thanks!

Hola Next_Gate,
I guess I am following all over this forum now. :D
As a rule of thumb, the Core will go 25 to 50Mhz over spec, but there is little performance to be gained by overclocking the Core. Your real gain is from the RAM.
RAM overclocking with a Vid Card is pot luck. It all depends on the RAM on the particular card you have in your comp. Two identical cards will have different overclocks.  If you are going to overclock it, do a 15 to 25Mhz jump the first time, and then from there only a couple of Mhz at a time. I use 3DMark2001SE to test my overclock.  If it makes it, I bump it up some more and test again, etc.
If 3DMark2001SE locks, I shut the computer off immediately and lower my overclock. If I start getting garbage on the screen during 3DMark2001SE, I hit the ESC key and lower my overclock.
Be Warned: This has a very good chance of turning your Vid Card in to a very expencive Key Chain. You have to be happy with the possibility of destroying your Vid Card. If you cannot live with that, DO NOT OVERCLOCK.

Ricardo

  • Recommended Overclocked settings for 2400+

Ok, made a previous post earlier about RAM problem and someone said that setting the ratio of 1:1 for cpu/ram would help my ram problem
    it did slightly
So what I did is, my FSB is now at 145
its running fine.. my 2400+ (1996.6mhz) is now running at 2179.33mhz, not bad, I haven't really changed.. it does get a little unstable at 146 though, but I don't change any voltage or anything
so I'm curious to know what would be quality settings, and how far I could push this thing, with just a Vantech Aeroflow heatsink.. so far my temps are 44(CPU) and 40(system)
my multiplier is currently at 15..
    any heads up?

yes. wire trick. I haven't had to do that because I just increased my fsb from 133 to 166, I didn't have to change the cpu voltage, but if you're getting some instability maybe you could try bumping up the voltage a little bit? As you can see in my sig I have my 2100+ running at the same speed as you've got yours at, so I'd think you should be able to get more.
Also, about the temps, don't worry unless you start getting and staying over ~60 celsius, I seem to be stuck, can't ever get below 52 celsius idle, but have yet to get over 57 celsius under full load

  • Recommended transition solution for ISP:s with enterprise customers?

What would be the recommended solution(s) for ISP:s with enterprises only as customers?
It both needs to support IPv6 and at the same time save IPv4 resources.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
There  are many possible choice for a soft transition of the Service Provider:
    - Dual-Stack
The SP can run both protocols in the backbone for a while so he can test IPv6 Service by switching some part of the Network to IPv6 Only and see if it is OK. In case there is a problem he can get back to dual-stack, fix the issue and resume its testing until it is Ok and he can allow IPv6 Only.
    - It is possible to provide IPv6 Service without upgrading the backbone to IPv6 Immediately using 6RD if the backbone is IPv4 or 6PE /6VPE (I did the dev-test for 6PE and 6VPE for CISCO for 3 years) if the backbone is IPv4/MPLS. This way the SP can start providing both IPv4 and IPv6 without upgrading the backbone. He can then move slowly to IPv6 with a Dual-Stack period not to switch immediately to IPv6 and allow to fallback if soething is not properly configured to work in IPv6 Only.
With 6VPE, the customer benefit of a dual-stack VPN and recently, CISCO has improved the Support of Multicast in MPLS which was main weakness of MPLS based solutions.
Once the SP has migrated to IPv6 Only, it is still possible to offer dual-stack, IPv4 and IPv6 service to its customers using DS-Lite or better, A+P when it will be available as A+P (dIVI-pd based) does not rely on CGN which has a couple of drawbacks for the SPs.
Once the Customer has migrated to IPv6 Only, it is also still possible to access some IPv4 resources (Networks, servers, applications) using NAT64.

  • Best sysctl settings for a netbook with 1G RAM?

    Hi all,
As the title says, what are (based on your experiences) the best sysctl settings for a netbook with 1G of RAM? I now have vm.swappiness=10 and vm.vfs_cache_pressure=50. Should I change these to a lower or higher value? Any other parameters I should add? Let me know!
    Thanks for your help.

  • Best Settings for HD output with Still Photos and Audio?

I am creating a 1 minute audio presentation that I would like to add photos and text titles to. What are the best sequence settings for this?

    Joe,
Thanks for your help. Would these be HDV settings, NTSC (?), PAL...etc?
I guess I just want it to look good. I'm a photographer and not a videographer so this is all new to me. I've just made some quick little videos (only about 4) in the past with Premiere. I'm much more familiar with Photoshop, but I thought this would be an easy project. I just don't want my photos to show up blurry. I'm in the US, so I think there is a difference for that with the NTSC and PAL settings, but I don't even know if I should use one of those or if it's one of the other endless options up there.
Are the ones you said just different sizes that the videos can be enlarged to and show clearly at an enlarged size? (Sort of like dpi?)

  • Best Export settings for vid shot with iPhone5S

Hi, I have been reading the discussions and tried many settings but it all didn't work. The exported video is still choppy/jerky
Heres my situation. I have video clips that I have shot from my iPhone 5S (1080x1920) H.264.
In order to rotate the video orientation to 1920x1080 (portrait) without the black bars, I use iSkySoft video converter. (Should I skip this step and just use iMovie directly?)
After getting the video coverted to an mp4 file of smaller size, I do my editing in iMovie 11. Everything looks good, the preview looks good on my mac. But I cant seem to find the perfect settings to export the project so that there is no quality loss and no jerky/choppy motions in the video.
I've tried these settings for export:
    video format: H.264,
    data rate: 16000kbits/sec (overkill?)
    optimized for: cd/dvd-rom
    image size: custom (1080x1920)
    frame rate: 30
    Key frame: Every, 30 frames.
WIth these settings, the exported vid is slightly jerky.
I would like to know what would be the best way to edit my videos shot with my iPhone 5s, then export them without losing quality? I only need the videos to be on my mac. I dont have to upload it anywhere or get them on DVD.
Thank you very much in advance guys!!

You messed up. You should NOT have rendered MP4 out of Premiere to use in AE. You're adding compression and quality loss in between stages. BAD video person!
The easiest thing to do would be to import your Premiere project in AE. That way it can use the original footage too. If, for some reason, you can't do that, you should render a lossless file out of Premiere. Speaking of lossless files, that's what you rendered out of AE. This page explains your large AE file issue.
Anyway, take that large file you render out of AE into the Adobe Media Encoder and render out your final compressed file. Either H.264 or WMV should work well for playback.

  • Recommended settings for HDTV

The "best" settings are what looks best to you.  That being said, it also depends on the TV you are hooking up to.  Ideally it should be set to the aspect ratio of your TV (I'm assuming that would be 16:9 for an HDTV) and the native resolution for HD (1080i or 720p - depends on your TV and I am assuming you have a flat panel and not a CRT set).
Now comes the trickiest one the SD override.  Some sets don't accept 480i over HDMI so be careful here.  Setting this to "OFF" causes the FiOS box to output SD (4:3) at whatever resolution you have selected for HD(the box upconverts the resolution).  The best bet is to try the different options for the SD Override and select whatever works best with your TV and looks best to your eye (some TV sets do a better job of converting SD to their native resolution than the box will).  The other option is whether you want SD in 4:3 (black side bars) or stretched to fill the 16:9 screen (personal choice is to never stretch, YMMV).  As always, the best setting is what looks best to you

  • Recommended vmware settings for OES11

Are there any recommendations for virtualizing OES11 with vmware vsphere (ESXi 4.1 or 5)?
    1. While installation (near at the beginning) there is a choice for the virtualization type.
The relevant choices are "physical Computer" or "paravirtualized Computer"
Is "physical" really the best choice for vmware, because thats also the setting for fully virtualized guests.
    2. SLES11 SP1 support paravitualized drivers for harddisks and usually that is a big performance boost on a suitable server (RAID Controller, SAS Drives, etc.)
What's with OES11 here even if using NSS Volumes?
    thanks
    Tobi

The bit about the removing and readding the NIC as VMXNET3 is unnecessary:
SLES 11.1 distribution includes a VMXNET3 driver, so you can create the VM
with a VMXNET3 NIC to begin with and have it seen during installation and
    before the tools are added.
Can't say I bother with pvscsi. You only see benefits under very high I/O
load. This is outweighed for me by the nuisance value of having disk
drivers that may fail after a kernel upgrade. VMware tools are not very
robust in this respect I find.

  • Outgoing server settings for MAC MAIL with multiple accounts?!

if i got paid to do this, my outgoing mail server issues would be somewhat amusing but as it stands they are really extremely annoying.
i have multiple email accounts (multiple addresses with multiple hosts - gmails, domain based email, me.com address etcetera).
does ANYONE know if there is an FAQ on what is recommended with respect to the settings on whether to tell mail to ONLY USE the one outgoing server and/or anything with the other settings?
i feel like i am in a pachinko parlor when i send mail because there is constantly an error of some kind and then i try dropping the mail through a different outgoing server by selecting a different one from the list and i just do this until it goes out. oftentimes i don't find out it didn't go out until the NEXT DAY becasue i am working and this alert gets hidden behind my other windows where i do actual productive work.
any ideas? i have two domain based websites (multiple emails with two SMTP addresses), two GMail accounts and me.com...
    THANKS!

    hi. CS. thanks.
do you know what this does as a practical matter? i mean, is it NECESSARY to check this box? will it try other outgoing servers and NOT WORK if you don't check this box? conversely, will it NOT try other outgouing servers if this one is unavailable if i check this (presumably the answer is yes here). i mean - am i likely to run into fewer problems by checking this box and i assume it is necessary to use the OUTGOING SERVER of the actual domain you are trying to send mail from as opposed to - for example - using GMAIL outgoing server for everything because you think you will get less errors than sending from your email domain outgoing server.
you know what i am saying? i mean, i get a bootload of errors and actually can't send mail these days even though Connection Doctor is telling me everything is hunky dory.
also, what is meant by "Offline"? do i have to go in and tell it to take everything on line for some reason and is this totally separate (telling it to go online) from checking things in Connection Doctor?
    THANK YOU

  • Can someone recommend good settings for HC Encoder?

    Hi all,
I have an SD, 25p 16:9 movie that I wish to encode for burning to DVD.  Now, it is an .avi that was made with Avisynth.  I wish to know what settings you recommend while using HC Encoder.  I just want to minimize loss of quality and be able to put the .m2v into Encore.
I have searched the web many times trying to find this answer but there seems to be little documentation/tutorials for this encoder.
I would appreciate any help with this.  Thanks!

    Hi,
the language used is not important. Ideally it would be explained in a language independent way :)
What's most important is that I get to understand beyond just cutting and pasting. I understand vectors and trigonometry and basic algebra and a little physics so a book that would assume a person is rusty in these areas would be great. hmm maybe I need to buy some school text books!!!!
I found the following books below if someone has read one and can help me decide which to buy that would be great. Otherwise I'll have to buy all 4!

  • Best rgb and gamma settings for external monitor with mountain lion

    Hi,
I'm using an LG LED 22 inch monitor with my MBP mid 2010 via minidisplay to hdmi. on OS X side the settings have been default. On the LED side the settings , if set to preset RGB it tends to fade the whites a lot. when i set to user definied and let the preset rgb be at it is, the colors are quote decent. currently they are on R 50, G 58 and B 59 and Gamma 1. Which is the best RGB and Gamma value for OS X Mountain Lion?

    Welcome to the forum.
First off, you need to go and buy a hardware monitor calibrator, such as an OptixXR or similar. This will build a custom monitor profile for your specific screen. Without this starting point you can forget ANY attempt at accurate colour matching.
Never (and I mean never) use a working space such as sRGB or Adobe98 as your monitor profile, that's not what they are designed for. Working spaces control what colours are possible in the image, monitor profiles control how those colours are shown on screen. Aperture uses it's own working space so you don't have to worry about that too much.
To answer the rest far too briefly, I'd suggest setting the proofing profile to sRGB and of course use sRGB for the export preset. The gamma setting you will have to adjust depending on how dark the Lightjet prints look compared to your screen. You will have to do test-strips to start with.
Your images looking crap on flickr on Windows machines is partly because Windows web browsers generally do NO colour correction, and only partly to do with the different gamma.

  • What are the ideal settings for my TC with Shaw's Cisco DPC3825 router/modem

My old 2nd Gen Time Capsule crapped out and now I am about to set up my new 2TB TC.  My provider is Shaw Communications and they have upgraded me to their Broadband 100 Mbps service.  This came with a new modem/router combo made by Cisco and is model DPC3825.  Before I start plugging things in I'd like to know what are the ideal settings such that I gain the most of the BB100 service.  Should I be setting the Cisco modem/router to Bridge mode or the TC?  Should I have Shaw disable anything?  Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Unless you specifically need to have the TC perform as the main router for your network, life will be a lot easier if you configure the TC to operate in Bridge Mode.
Whether the Cisco modem/router or gateway can possibly be configured to act as a simple bridge mode modem is one thing to consider.
Whether Shaw would support you in the event of any connection difficulties with the modem/router configured this way is another.
Since Shaw is your provider, it might make sense to talk with them about best practice as far as configuring the DPC3825.
Once you have that information in hand, you will then have the answer on how best to configure the TC.....which will very likely be in Bridge Mode.

  • Help with OC settings for P67A-GD65 with i5 2500k using v1.E BIOS

Right, I have overclocked quite a bit before, but it was a years ago and on AMD's. Now I have a system worth pushing again and I'm not familiar with a lot of the terms in the BIOS anymore!
Have been reading through the various threads on OC'ing this Mboard, but something thats frequently mentioned is problems with older BIOS's and voltage settings, which v1.E is supposed to fix.
I'm looking to get a stable 4.6ghz with low power usage during idle and under load temps of 65-70deg (if poss).
I don't know whether to use the approaches others have used to get round this issue or is this now not a problem?
If so, what settings should I be using?! Getting a lil confused.
Englishman's thread (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=146272.0) has helped a bit, but I fear I may have misunderstood and cocked some of it up!
So, here's the settings I'm trying atm, will be doing an overnight Prime95 torture test, but what do you guys think? Any corrections/improvements?
Dunno how to post pics on forum so will just type all that I can think is relevant. If I've missed anything, ask and I'll post.

  • Security settings for CRM Integration with SharePoint

I have successfully integrated CRM 2015 and SharePoint 2013, both on-premise. I can see the SharePoint iframe on my CRM.
Next, is to set up the security. Only users with access to CRM record can access the respective SharePoint folders.
After I set up the security in SharePoint, i.e, by only giving permission to the specific folder and not the root site's Visitors group, the iframe on CRM side displays an error. It seems that the iframe is trying to access the root URL first, to which the
users don't have access, hence the error.
Am I missing something or is it not possible? Little explanation is given on MSDN about the security settings.
Another question, is there any plan for Microsoft to support server based integration for on-premise version?

crm does not give the rights through to sharepoint. u have the option to open sharepoint external with list component where you must take away the sharepoint rights and for us never a usefull option. We created custom application internal and did not published
sharepoint, we programmed so that documents are visible in iframe via a IIS website and looks to the logged-in user´s and only the documents are visible which belongs to his security role. its a lot of work but we found that it is also faster then the list
    component.
