Recommended SD Card for Lumia 1520?

I'm going to buy 64Gb Sd card for my Lumia 1520 but read about problems with video recording on some cards. What 64Gb cards are proven to work without any issues? Would appreciate any advice

I was using a Sandisk Extreme 64gb card for a month without any problems before switching to another 32gb Sandisk I have.

  • Recommended Graphics Cards for Encore / Premiere

    Hi-Dee-Ho Everybody:
I started a thread yesterday regarding trouble I am having with Encore CS4, specifically, my "Monitor" window just stops, well, monitoring after a short time while manipulating fairy straight forward 720x480 AVI files. Rather than reiterate it all, here's the link:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/555265?tstart=0
It's a new system that I'm using. I had been using Encore successfully for the last 6 months on an older, slower machine - Windows XP Home, 4GB memory, ONE processor core.
Everything about the new system should improve the performance of Encore: 8GB of memory, Quad Core, 2.5GHz a HUGE harddrive. The only two things that I see could be the cause of my new problems are:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
Different Graphics Card (Intel G43/G45 Express)
I've updated EVERYTHING: Windows 7, display drivers, card drivers, the Roxio PX Engine (4.18.16a). All that's done.
I've heard from many people that they are getting along fine with Windows 7. I am leaning towards this graphics card as the problem. The system was, overall, a great deal but I neglected to ask about the the amount of graphics memory in it.It's just one of those mother board embedded scenarios. I don't know if I should expect much from it.
So, I was wondering if anybody had any experience with this "card". If not, I was wondering if there was a recommended graphics card for Encore and Premiere. A minimum recommendation for graphics memory?
    Thanks!
    Mark Roberts,
    Toronto

    Mark,
Many have had problems with embedded Intel graphics chips and various Adobe programs.
For the vast majority, replacing that with either an ATI, or nVidia, has solved the issue.
Though it is overkill for general NLE and authoring, I love my nVidia Quadro FX-4500-512MB has worked perfectly. It is older, and more than you need.
On my laptop, my nVidia GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB has also performed very well.
One is a higher-end, albeit older, 3-D card, and the other, a "mobile" card. What I am getting at is that most of the offerings from ATI, or nVidia should work perfectly, and better than the Intel chip - plus either source will provide many more new drivers, and in a much more timely fashion, than the Intel.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • What is a recommended Graphics card for G4MDD running tiger and sometimes..

What is a recommended Graphics card for G4MDD running tiger and sometimes 9.2.2
I really need to have both in accelerated mode, looking at my stats I currently have 9000 PRO with 64mb ram... don't need it for games but high end graphics applications currently using Starta Pro 2.5.3 on 9.2.2 which for my current purposes is afficient

The 9600 runs like crap in OS 9.2.2 with any ATI software you can find because ATI never wrote OS 9 drivers for the 9600. OS 9 ATI software does not recognize the card. You get a basic 2D monitor output that is soft, dull, slightly off-color, and cannot be enhanced with the Monitor's Control Panel calibration utility.
If you spend any amount of time in OS 9.2.2 or you want to use OS 9.2.2 for any of your old games (even 2-D video clip type games), don't get the 9600.
I have a 9600 installed in my MDD G4 and now have an original Radeon for Mac PCI video card installed as well. When I want to use any of my OS 9 games, I move the DVI cable from my LCD monitor over to the old Radeon card and restart.

  • Recommended sound card for Oracle Redhat Linux 64 bit?

    Dear Experts,
I'm trying to install the latest Oracle Redhat 5.
64 bit. On a certified Asus motherboard.
It will be a dual boot windows/Linux machine.
And I'm having an awful time with the sound card for my new server.
(It will be used for learning, at home. It's important to
have sound for some instructional videos that I will also watch.)
Other installs, sound has installed and worked fine.
I believe it's partially because the sound came directly off
    the motherboard in those cases.
But with this new server, it came with a sound card, no onboard.
The sound card works with windows. But not with Linux.
I've been swapping three sound cards in and out, trying to get
one to work. Each has some partial success, but none meet all
    of the requirements (below).
What is really frustrating is that I want the sound to go
to the green headphone jack on the front of the computer case.
To do this, there is a cable that connects the sound card, to
    the front of the chassis.
The existing sound card that I have, has a connector for this.
It is an "HD audio", or an AC 97 connector. There two rows of
five pins, with one pin blocked up, so that the connector is
inserted in the correct manner. The cord is hard wired to the case.
You can see some images of the pins and the cords here:

You would figure that whether the connector existed or not would be a standard
feature that would be listed for sound cards. But it's rare to find it listed anywhere.
When I went to the computer store, I had to open all the boxes to see if it
was there or not!!!! Manufacturers, this is not that difficult!!
At this point, after a couple of days of struggle, I just want to buy a
simple sound card that works right out of the box.
    Here are the requirements:
    - gets instantly recognized by Linux (Oracle Redhat 5) 64 bit, and plays sound
with the standard Linux drivers. I believe I have all of the drivers installed,
because a few cards do play with them automatically. During installation, I
    installed Every package available.
    - no installation of special Linux drivers required.
    - the other big requirment is that the card have output to an HD Audio,
or AC 97 connector, and will play music through the headphone jack.
(Believe it or not, I have one card that works fine out the back,
but won't work through the HD Audio. But it works fine in Windows)
    - will also work with Windows 64 bit.
Does anyone have any good sound card recommendations that will meet all these requirements?
    Thanks a lot!

Almost a year later... what have you been listening too? :-)
I have to admit that I'm not an expert for "sound" under Linux. I think you may find http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Main_Page interesting. It also shows which sound cards are compatible.
ALSA is pretty much standard under Linux and stands for Advanced Linux Sound Architecture. Together with pulse-audio it provides audio and MIDI functionality to the Linux operating system and is, by default, also included in RHEL and other descendants. You can install pulseaudio support using the EPEL repository following the instructions at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL
    wget rpm -Uvh http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/x86_64/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm
    sudo rpm -Uvh epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm
    yum list alsa* pulseaudio*
    Loaded plugins: downloadonly, rhnplugin, security
This system is not registered with ULN.
    ULN support will be disabled.

  • External battery charger for Lumia 1520

I was looking for an external battery charger but all of them are either 1.0A or 2.1A.
Since Lumia 1520's charger is 1.5A, is there any brand of external battery fit the requirement?
Is it safe to charge Lumia 1520 with an external battery with output=2.1A?
    Thanks!

Agreed, those power packs are great to have as an extra power supply when you know you're going to be out and about for extended periods.
Recently I got myself one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BJCHH36/

  • Lte support for lumia 1520 model in india

    hi,
am planning to buy the lumia 1520 here in india.
What is the model number [ rm 937 or rm 938 or rm 939 or rm 940 ] of the model sold officially in india ?
does this model have support for 4g/lte networks, irrespective of the fact that carriers in india currently do not offer 4g/lte networks ?
is it true that even if the model has 4g/lte support, it is disabled for sale in india ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi hardisk88,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
The RM model compatible with India is RM-937. The phone supports LTE frequency bands, however your network provider should also support this service to enjoy LTE connections using your Lumia 1520 in India. Here's the supported LTE frequency bands: LTE bands: 2100, 1800, 2600, 900, 200.
    Hope this helps.

  • Denim Update for Lumia 1520

Why can't a flagship device like Lumia 1520 get the latest updates ? What's the point in purchasing the top of the line products if no support is provided. How can Microsoft retain its loyal customer with such a poor service? What is the point of advertising features like Lumia camera 5, 4K video and Cortana if we cannot use them. It looks like Microsoft is dumping earlier Nokia branded phones.

Hello have a 1520 Lumia with HK ROM and I have not yet received Denim, on the microsoft web site indicated that as there are Denim but my phone still says that it is updated.
    This is the page:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/wp8-availability-in-...
However, there are other specific page of this model where otherwise indicated, all that is this:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/mobile/support/product/lumia1520/softwareupdate/
There is a problem that I think Microsoft should solve, there are many users of this great terminal that are like me in any way.

Seconded - although I'd never heard of Lexar before. SanDisk and Kingston are the brands I tend to recommend, and I've had an 8GB SanDisk card in my N95 for a while now.
FWIW, Nokia does sell an 8GB card, the MU-43, but the price will probably be rather steep. They sell the MU-41, a 4GB card, already at about twice the price of everyone else's 8GB cards.

  • Recommended wireless card for G3?

I have a Powerbook GS series running OS 10.2 and am looking to buy a wireless card. Any suggestions? I went to the local Mac store and the guy there suggested a card that was about $80. Is this reasonable? Thanks for your help.

    Tyanlee,
To make your wireless experience as pleasant as possible, I would suggest this:
    1. Download and install the Mac OS X Update Combo 10.2.8:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdatecombo10_28.html
    2. Download and install AirPort 3.1.1:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=70176
After installing both updates, you can then buy one of the wireless PC cards below and it will be fully compatible with AirPort software.
    http://www.sonnettech.com/product/aria_extreme.html
    http://www.macsense.com/product/broadband/WPE800.html
    http://www.buffalotech.com/wireless/products/airstation/WLICBG54A.html
I recommend downloading the standalone updates instead of using your OSX's Software Update. If you have only a slow modem connection, possibly a friend can download them or your local Mac store may burn a CD for you for a few dollars.
If you are running OSX 10.2.0 > 10.2.5, you cannot use AirPort software, but you do have other options. If you are not interested in updating to 10.2.8 (possibly you are already there), please reply.

  • Maps on the SD card for Lumia 820

I've just ordered an 820, and now I see that apparently it's not possible to install maps to the SD card - is this true? So when what's left of the 8Gb is full with maps of Europe and apps and games, I have to uninstall something, even if I have 32Gb of empty space plugged into the phone? Please tell me you're going to fix this... I'm upgrading from a 5230 that was already an old design when I bought it, and I could store maps wherever I wanted. I know that microSD support has only just come to Windows Phone so I don't expect perfection right out of the box, but please consider fixing this, for me it's a major bug. If it's not going to happen I guess I should cancel the order and buy the HTC 8X, doesn't cost much more than the 820 and has double the storage, and now you released Drive+ for all Windows Phones...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You are correct about not being able to install map data on the sd card. I travel overseas regularly and havent seen the need to download more than just the maps I need for the next few months and remove them when not required. This is because the data is updated a couple of times a year anyway, so even if I already have the data downloaded a few months previous, I'll probably need to redownload it again to get the latest updates just before I travel.
However, if you should want to download all the map data anyway, then the 820 is not for you and there is always the Lumia 920 with 32gb storage.

    Hi bluesmom,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Just to verify, do you only get the issue when opening HERE Maps? How about with other navigation applications like HERE Drive? Try to reboot the phone. Don't forget to remove and reinsert the battery before restarting.
Although HERE Maps is preinstalled on the phone, you may also try to remove and redownload it from the Store. Just make sure that before removing HERE Maps, check if it's available in the Store under the Nokia Collection.
You may also check if there's an update for the app. Normally, applications update show up on the bottom part of the Store homepage. We recommend using Wi-Fi when downloading and installing updates.
If the issue continues, try the tricks shown in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2749480.
Hope this information helps. Just feel free to give feedback if this solved your concern.
