Hello Jim,
you should go to Jobs --> Job Activity --> Advanced Search --> Job Type --> Database Backup
press "Go"
Then you Backup Job should be displayed.
You can then Stop --> delete the Job
Reschedule a new Backup Job using the Availability Page for the Database

I have tried various combinations of

  • How to take Auto backup from External Network Drive to Mac pro internal Dri

    Hi,
I have a External Network Drive (Buffalo 1TB) which i use as a server, now i need to take auto backup from that external drive to the Mac i am working on, which has 2TB Internal hard Disk.
Please could anyone help me on this.....
    Thanks in advance

If you are looking to actually integrate what you have on the external one terabyte hard drive with the 2 TB hard drive you're using inside the Mac the best move for you if you want access to that data when using the Mac Pro server is going into utilities click on the top bar where it says go fall that down to the utilities told them that folder quickly once you are there you will see migration assistant click on that you will be asked to type your admin password to that. It will ask you "how do you want to transfer your information" then select from a Time machine backup or other disk when it asks you will be transferring information to your Mac Pro from your 1 Tb backup external hard drive once it's finished eject the drive or reformat it and use it again if your objective was to infect keep compress the data on the external so you have more space but do not have access to it I strongly recommend Carbon Copy Clone 3.3.1 is 100% free and does a fantastic job here is the link http://www.pure-mac.com/downloads/carboncopyclonerdl.html of copying every block to create an exact replica of your source hard drive. If you want something different and don't mind paying SuperDuper! is a great product as well this WebSite will have many options I would stick to carbon copy clone http://www.pure-mac.com/backup.html I also like EMC Retrospect backup and recovery software for the Mac it is a great product but very much on the expensive side for backup utilities although if you need word offers this might be right up your alley.
    I hope I wasn't help,
    Sincerely,
    Thomas

  • "This backup is too large for the backup volume" - Info

Hi there. I had a problem with my time machine and got an error stating "This backup is too large for the backup volume". I did noticed after logging in that TM was indexing in the upper right corner [magnifier with a flashing dot(spotlight)] for a few seconds. So then I went on to "back up now" and it was preparing and then I got the Error message described above. So I uninstalled my anti-virus (you must disable auto protection/or exclude timemachine.app and its plist file (location below)from Anti-virus preferences in the case you have a anti-virus app, otherwise it will take forever to back up.) though that was not my issue. I then turn off time machine and deleted this .plist file in Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.apple.TimeMachine.plist....STOP here if this fixed your problem after restarting. Time machine External Drive in Disk Utility **THESE STEPS WILL ERASE YOUR ENTIRE BACKUPS** ( "Erase" and rename or "partition" to make more that one partition on the External Drive if you wish, and Rename) (Disk utility> Partition tab> "option" you must - guid=intel / apple partition map=PowerPC)...sorry alot of newbie out there...by deleting the "com.apple.TimeMachine.plist" = when you plug in you TM it will ask you if you want to use the drive as a TM back up automatically. This did the trick. But to let you guys know I also used Cocktail (app) and used a feature it has to erase my computers spotlight index and rebuild it. Also in Cocktail, when you have your time machine plugged in you can erase its index and disable it all together. I recommend you first disable spotlight (before the first initial TM backup) in system preferences > spotlight> Privacy (tab) and plus to add time machine ...which has to be mounted (plugged in) to add from window under "Devices".

  • How to cancel BT Auto Backup?

    Hello
I've finally got to the end of my tether with BT Auto Backup. It constantly stops half way trough a backup and I can't get it to back up the files I need. £60 quid a year is a lot to pay for something I can't trust.
What is the best way of cancelling the service? Do I just cancel my direct debit?
    Thanks.

I think it depends on how you paid.

  • I am running a MacBook Pro with 10.7.5 and I downloaded the OS X 10.10.2 Update Combo, however when I try and open the package the error message "This volume is used for TimeMachine-backups". Which is not true. I´m using TimeCapsule.

I am running a MacBook Pro with 10.7.5 and I downloaded the OS X 10.10.2 Update Combo.
When I try and open the package after accepting the lincence-agreement and upon choosing the install-volume the error message appears: "This volume is used for TimeMachine-backups".
Which is not true. I´m using a timecapsule for backups.
    How can I proceed?

I am using a MacBook Pro (2010) with 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, 1067 MHz, DDR3, Startvolume Macintosh HD.
After downloading the package and starting upgrading it asks acceptance of the license-agreement. After that it asks for the volume were to install. And when I click on the Startvolume Macintosh HD (which is the only available on the machine) it says: "The volume is already being used for Time Machine-Backups".
It doesn´t offer to skip that point or to reconfigure the Time Machine settings.
The point is that my Time machine is not and has never used the Mac HD for Backups. In the past I have used an external drive and since 05/2014 I am using a Time Capsule which is appropriately addressed in the Time Machine settings.

  • Digital Vault / Auto Backup - How to upload a dire...

    Hi there,
Can you use auto backup to backup a directory structure that is not held within one of the options under 'we suggest'?
I want to backup a directory that has 2 layers of sub directories that is on another drive on my computer, I tried going via 'you pick' with everything unticked on 'we suggest' but, although I could navigate to my other drives, I could only select files and not directories which is no use to me as it would take far, far to much time to select all the files in each sub directory (over a decades worth of family photos)
I do not want to move it over to my documents or pictures folder as I want to keep it all on a seperate hard drive.
I cannot see a way to upload directories using the digital vault web uploader either otherwise I would do it manually.
Thank you for any assistance :-)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes you can, I do it.
Forget "we suggest" and use your own selection.
Navigate to the parent folder, and simply tick the box. Everything in the parent and subdirectories will be backed up.
If you only want certain subdirectiories, then you click the "+" option, and the directory treee will be displayed.
You can then select whichever subdirectories you want.
You can backup from any "fixed" drive, but not network drives.

  • BT Auto Backup

I have recently enabled my Digital Vault and installed BT Auto Backup on my Windows 7 PC.  Looking at Auto Backup it appears to run on start up and backup selected files to the vault.  On my PC this is not an issue as it is connected to the Internet via Ethernet cable.
However I would like to install BT Auto Backup on two laptops.  These are mainly used via WiFi and are not connected to the Internet until the WiFi software in the laptop runs.  Is the BT Auto Backup tool clever enough to wait or try again once the WiFi connection is established, or will it never back up the selected files?
    Chris.

It will normally wait until there is an active network connection.

  • BT Auto Backup failing to backup

When my Auto Backup stopped working, I went into my digital vault only to find my files had disappeared and it showed 0GB used.
The next day I checked on my sons laptop who shares my backup and his was working ok and I could see all the data was still stored ok, so I knew the digital vault was working.
I tried my lap top again and still had the same problem.
I have overcome the problem as follows...
I logged on to dital vault directly, and clicked down load auto backup.
It down loaded and the install wizard said it would automatically remove the old files and reinstall, then after restarting all worked ok .  I thought I would post this as it might help someone...

  • Stop the auto backup - guide needed

I have the iphone 3g and itunes 7.7 and whenever i dock the phone it backs up. I know I can click the x but whether or not to back up should be an option and not automatic. If the phone was backed up 1 hour ago and i dock again - it backs up again. There has to be a way to change the frequency of the backups but I cannot find it. Can someone please advise?
P.S. Apple come on - you might want to add the word iphone to the accepted words on the spell checker in the forums.

        Hi alellis1992,
The Backup Assistant application is useful for most, but I understand what you mean and am prepared to help you. It is actually not possible to turn off the auto-sync for Backup Assistant, but what you can do is change the settings so it backs up less frequently. The default setting is once a day. You are able to change that time frame. You would go to your Media Center, then to Backup Assistant, then Settings. You will then be able to change the sync settings for the Backup Assistant. Here's a link for the information and Device Manual for the Cosmos 2. http://bit.ly/JVaAQZ Thanks and have a good day!

  • How to set auto backup as like quark express

    Hi,
I want to know how to set auto backup opening files in InDesign 6 as like quark express

InDesign restores everything after a crash.
Versioning was removed aw hile ago, now you should set it up on OS or computer level or use a cloud service like dropbox which offers such functionality.
For formatting use Paragraph Styles, for exceptions use Character styles. It is a no-go to make a font bold, it must be done via styles. I think it is a problem with Quark documents that people bolded with the B button their text, this caused false styles and did no semantic styling which would not allow to create PDF/UA documents.
Paragraph and Character Styles are completely different in InDesign than in Quark. In InDesign every font property is defined in a paragraph style. Character Styles are only used for exceptions and only the different properties are defined. E.g. if you have black text and want some words or letters to be red the InDesign Character style would define only the property character color to red, everything else would remain empty. So you could apply the same character style to text with different paragraph styles with different fonts and sizes. In Quark you would have to set up a different character style for each paragraph style.

  • No iCloud auto backup since iOS 6 update

I have three iPhone 5's, an iPad 2, & two iPod Touches.  None of the iPhones perform an auto backup when plugged in. Two are setup for iCloud backups & one is setup for iTunes backup.  Even after a Genius appointment, still no auto backup.  With the iCloud backups, I can backup manually successfully, so it's not an issue with corrupt data.  With the iTunes backup, the "sync now" button is missing, so I can't even do manual backups.
After updating an iPod Touch that was auto backing up successfully on iOS 5.1.1, it's now not backing up automatically with iOS 6.  Again, I can backup manually just fine.
When is Apple going to fix this issue?  It works in iOS 5.x, but is broke w/ iOS 6.  I see lots of posts about not being able to sync/backup, but I can backup manually.  I wish I could revert my iPod back to 5.1.1 & downgrade my iPhones.
I've tried deleting my iCloud backups, turning off iCloud backups, & re-enabling the iCloud auto backup, but the only successful backup are the ones I perform manually.  Any other suggestions?  Anyone else seeing this issue?

No, I'm on Time Warner Cable.
This issue is strictly an iOS 6 issue and not related to your ISP.  I have the same issue with all of my iOS 6 devices that are setup to auto sync/backup to iTunes instead of iCloud which only uses your wi-fi network and not your ISP's connection to the Internet.  The backup to iTunes, however, is even more messed up than the backup to iCloud.  With iCloud, it at least has the button  for backing up now where as the iTunes Wi-Fi backup doesn't have the button and appears to not be enabled.
I had a Genius appointment and the (not) Genius tried to tell me that I hadn't even set it up right.  I walked him though the setup with my Mac/iTunes and he gave me his approval that I'd done it correctly.  Still no backup from the device.  So he claimed it was iTunes so we removed it and re-installed it with no success.  Then he tried to tell me it was an issue with my Mac and that I needed to completely re-install OS X.  I told him he was an idiot and demonstrated how my iOS 5.1.1. devices backup perfectly and automatically via iTunes and couldn't be an issue with my Mac, OS X 10.7.4, iTunes, or my iPod Touches (3rd & 4th generations) and iPad 2, so the issue HAS to be with iOS 6.
I saw an article saying that Apple is planning an iOS 6.0.1 release in a few weeks, and iOS 6.1 after the holidays.  There was no mention of iCloud/iTunes backups being included.
