Reconfiguring EBS after IP address change

Hi All,
In our EBS(12.1.3) , only IP addresses have been changed as part of a migration.
I believe I need to clean up FND_NODES and rerun autoconfig for IP change to be recorded in the table.
I also need to do changes to listener and tnsnames if they are using IP address.
I could not find any standard doc on metalink. Can somebody refer me the standard oracle's steps on reconfiguring EBS after an IP change.

  • Named instance cannot be accessed from another computer after IP address changed

    Hello
In our SQL server computer, we are using dynamic IP.  There are two instances; one of them is a named instance.
    We can access both instances.
However, after changing the SQL server computer to static ip, we cannot access the named instance from another computer (the non-named instance is ok).  Any idea what to do to make the named instance accessible?  After the ip address changed, I
only did a ipconfig /renew without rebooting the computer, would rebooting solve it?
Since I only have limited amount of time to take the production server offline and since I do not know enough about this, I ask to see if any one has any idea.
    Thanks
    Carbond

    Hello,
Please try to restart SQL Server service instead using SQL Server Configuration Manager.
    Hope this helps.

  • Login to Java Desktop fails after IP address change

If the IP address (or networking type DHCP vs. static address) changes, users can no longer log in to their accounts and use the Java Desktop environment. I can get around this by using the Solaris Management Console from CDE to remove the user(s) without removing their respective home directories, then recreating the users with the respective home dirs. This, however, seems to be an extreme hack to me. Is there a better way? Thanks.

    Hi Glenn,
The issue could be caused by unfinished AD replication. It may be intermittent and resolve itself automatically.

Nowadays it's fairly painless - most issues arise around the admin server. With 5.x Sun provides scripts to help with this (admin_ip.pl) in the shared directory ...

  • Workflow Mailer stops picking up notifications after IP address changes

We changed the IP address of our Domain Controllers this afternoon. Soon after we did this, I noticed that notifications in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table were not being processed.
FND_SVC_COMPONENTS showed that the mailer was running, and I was able to telnet into the Exchange server (our mail server) from the PRODuction/admin/concurrent processing tier.
OAM showed the mailer was running and I was able to stop and start the mailer from the GUI from the OAM.
Does anyone have any ideas as to whether a Application tier bounce would help with us with this?
    Tks

Yes - there were errors in the log file (as shown below)
    [Mar 2, 2010 2:16:03 PM CST]:1267560963744:Thread[outboundThreadGroup1,5,outboundThreadGroup]:0:-1:mkewis01.drs-pct.com:10.40.9.61:-1:-1:UNEXPECTED:[SVC-GSM-WFMLRSVC-17842-10006 : oracle.apps.fnd.wf.mailer.SMTPOutboundProcessor.send(Message)]:Problem occured whee n sending to {[["Sentieri, Gerald L" <[email protected]>]]} -> javax.mail.MessagingException: 451 Sender domain must resolve
There were several of these - one for each notification that was not being processed from the WF_NOTIFICATION table - with the same error message.
While we were experiencing this problem, I bounced the mailer. This had no effect.
Not sure if the IP's of the old domain controllers are cached anywhere.....and whether a biounce of just the APPS stack will force the expiry of the lease of the IP address of the old domain controllers.

  • Can't Access Azure VM after IP Address Change

I recently logged into my Azure VM (Windows 2012 R2) and did the following:
went to "Network Connections", selected properties
Selected IPV4 and changed the "obtain IP Address automatically" option to "Use the following IP Address".
I set the IP Address to the address that Azure gave me in the Azure Portal.
However, since then - the machine is running but I can't access it.  Through some investigating, I realised that I shouldn't have done that.  Lesson Learnt.
However, my question is - is there a way to change this in Powershell so that I can gain access again?
or do I need to delete and recreate the server?
    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Based on my exprience, if you change the TCP/IP settings on the Azure VM. Next time you reboot the VM from the Azure management portal, the settings you saved on the VM would be changed to the default status(obtain IP Address automatically).
I recommend you to restart the VM in the Azure management portal and then check the quick glance of the VM to make sure that all parameters are displaying. After that, you can connect(using xxx.cloudapp.net with RDP port)to it without any problems.
If the above suggestion is not helpful, please share us the detailed error message.
By the way, did you mean the internal IP address in the portal? Do you want to assign a static internal IP address to that VM? If yes, the VM should be in a virtual network and you can use Azure PowerShell cmdlets to do that.
Configure a Static Internal IP Address for a VM

    Susie

  • Clean Access HTTP redirect wrong after IP address change

    Hi,
Wondered if anyone had seen this:
We have a Clean Access server running in VGW mode for VPN traffic, after a redesign the IP address has changed (the trusted and untrusted are the same).
Unfortunately when a user logs in it still uses the old IP address in the HTTP redirect, this has been confirmed by looking at the HTML source.
Apart from that it looks fine, new SSL certificate etc.
    Any ideas apopreciated, thanks.
    Jim.

For all deployments, if planning to configure the Clean Access Server in Virtual Gateway mode (IB or OOB), do not connect the untrusted interface (eth1) of the standalone CAS or HA-Primary CAS until after you have added the CAS to the CAM from the web admin console. For Virtual Gateway HA-CAS pairs, also do not connect the eth1 interface of the HA-Secondary CAS until after HA configuration is fully complete. Keeping the eth1 interface connected while performing initial installation and configuration of the CAS for Virtual Gateway mode can result in network connectivity issues.
When setting up a CAS in Virtual Gateway mode, you specify the same IP address for the trusted (eth0) and untrusted (eth1) network interfaces during the initial installation of the CAS via CLI. At this point in the installation, the CAS does not recognize that it is a Virtual Gateway. It will attempt to connect to the network using both interfaces, causing collisions and possible port disabling by the switch. Disconnecting the untrusted interface until after adding the CAS to the CAM in Virtual Gateway mode prevents these connectivity issues. Once the CAS has been added to the CAM in Virtual Gateway mode, you can reconnect the untrusted interface.
Administrators must use the procedure mentioned in the below URL for correct configuration of a Virtual Gateway Central Deployment:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/418/cas/s_instal.html#wp1045874

  • CRM 5.0 not booting up after IP Address change to Static

    Hi Experts:
I really hope that you can help me out with this.
We had/have a CRM 5.0 system, we changed its IP from Dynamic to Static (that went fine).  We rebooted the system up (that also went fine)
The next morning we noticed that some of the processes were showing red (in SAP MMC).  We waited on that hoping that it would resolve it self.
HOwever, till early evening, the system was still showing red processes.  So, we decided to reboot the system up.  HOwever, the dispatcher is not starting up.  Essentially none of the java applications (SDM, Dispatcher, and Server) are starting up.
I have opened up a ticket with SAP, and they beleive that the issue is with Oracle Listener as that is refusing to recognize the SID from our SAP system.
Since then I have turned off the static IP and tried restarting the CI, but still it continues to give the same error.
During the Disp+Work.exe start up protocol...it continues to show "J2EE status info unavailable".
Have any of you encountered something like this in regards to NetWeaver 2004s or anyother SAP application.
    Any help would be appreciated.....
    Imran

  • Portal not working after IP Address Change

    Hi,
Because of some reasons, IP Address of the unix machine where portal was installed is changed and all of sudden portal is not working. On accessing the portal on new IP, we are getting "Service Unavailable, Cannot process request for dynamic resources". Can anyone please advice on this?
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi,
Have you restarted the portal ?
This might be needed even if you are using hostnames in the config, since the JVM by default caches DNS lookups for ever. See Controlling DNS caching in the Java Virtual Machine (i.e. J2EE WAS) for more info

  • How to deal with dynamic IP address changes

I have installed Fodero C3 and Oracle 10g successfully. Oracle 10g use web OEM console to manage database. However, my internet provider only provided me a dynamic IP address. When I installed Fedora C3, Linux server automatically picked a Hostname like " ip12-345-678-90.dc.dc.cox.net". After I created database, all database files also used this hostname. Then Oracle web OEM console worked fine. Due to the dynamic IP address assigned by ISP, their DHCP server changed the first part of IP address(ip12-345-678-90)frequently to another one. After IP address changed, I couldn't start up web OEM console and listener because they couldn't find correct hostname (IP address). I have talked to my ISP. It seems that it can not be solved. Anyone knows how to deal with this problem through 10g and OEM console themseleves. I also think about to configure Linux server to solve the problem. I really need your help. Thanks in advance

Thank all of you so much to respond my questions. I think I have solved the problem. Since the key point was that Oracle 10g OEM console could not work with the frequent changes of IP address made by my ISP. I just bought a 54G wireless router. Then connecting router to cable modem. The cable modem still gets the dynamic IP from ISP, but the router automatically assigned a static IP address to my Linux system with the range from 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255. This IP was control by my router. It is nothing to do with ISP. So I re-created Oracle database with this new static IP. Then OEM console and listener can startup and connect to database without problem. I do think other guru's methods also will work. I just have no time to try them one by one. Thanks again. Your inputs make me learn many things.

  • Address Change

    Hello Gurus,
I understand that changes to the address of a customer in the master data will be reflected in a Sales order that was created before that.
I just want to confirm that the same is true also when a Sales Order has been completely or partially referenced in a DO and the DO is created. So, this case, the Sales Order is completely closed already. The address change is still reflected in the Sales Order am i right?
That means all subsequent documents and processes have occured, the Sales Order would still be able to show the address change. Am i correct?
    Thanks.
    regards
    M Russo

    Hi Russo,
The General tab of customer master which consists of Address data is maintained in Client level. It is maintained there irrespective of organizational data.It is independent of sales area / company code.
So all the sales orders created before the address change in customer master & similarly all the sales orders created after the address change in customer master will have the new address.
The subsequent documents created in both the below cases will have changed addresses.
Case-1 where orders prior to address change in customer master were taken as reference &
Case 2 where orders with later address change in customer master was taken as reference.
    Hope this answers your query.

  • Do i need to reconfigure OEM Database Control when change ip address?

    Hi all.
Do i need to reconfigure OEM Database Control after a change of ip address?
I mean, i have an OEL5 box with 10g Rel2. I have configure the server with a static ip address.
This server will be sent to another location and it's possible the ip address will be changed. It will remain a static ip, but may change. Since i plan to deliver this server with rman jobs within OEM Database Control. I'd like to know if this will continue working after an eventual ip address change ....
    Regards....!

    Regards....!It depends.
When you created the dbcontrol, the configuration was put in a directory in ORACLE_HOME named something like 'hostname_sid' and there are also files under that where the hostname is baked into either the file name or a property of a configration defined within a file. If it is truly hostname, you might be ok, but if it is actually IP address instead of host name (I have seen that) then you obviously have a problem.
Over the years (and across several versions) I've found the OEM repository to be rather "brittle", and Oracle to have a rather cavalier attitude about rebuilding it. As a result, I specifically DO NOT have anything important - and very specifically my backup jobs - in the repository. I still schedule my backups through rman, though I know many people use dbms_scheduler. But even that appears to not be the same as an oem controlled schedule.

  • Not able to access object after server IP address changes

I have an Activatable object that gets registered with the RMIDs registry.
If my servers IP address changes, then when I look up the remote object, I can retrieve it from the registry, but as soon as I make a method call I get an access denied to xx.xx.xx.xx, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the old IP address - and not the new one.
I've tried rebinding the object to the registry after the IP address has changed but with no success.
I've also tried settings -Dnetworkaddress.cache.ttl=0. All my lookups are done by hostname.
    Any ideas?
    TIA
    Ian

If the server changes its IP address all stubs which have already been exported become invalid and must be reacquired. For an Activatable this also means that you must re-register the object as an Activatable as well as rebinding it.

  • Mac address changed after coming to IOS7

After ipad retina upgrade to IOS7 mac address changed to a strange one starting with 02:00:00. So wierd.... Someone has the same magical thing?

Same thing here. I believe this is causing netflix to freeze; as soon as someone else with the same MAC address initiates a Netflix session, mine gets bumped one notch until the next session with the same MAC initiates and then it's freezing time.
    Apple, fix please.
