Reconnect Media from Soundtrack Pro

I exported a clip from FCP to Soundtrack Pro and cannot seem to Reconnect Media in FCP; when I go through the selection process to reconnect in FCP; I can pick it but the clip is still declared offline/missing. How do I get this fixed using FCP or Soundtrack Pro? Thanks.

I am trying to export a single track with audio from Soundtrack Pro. When I select File>Export, all of my export options are grayed out. I've tried highlighting the track and that didn't work. Any thoughts?
Is the menu item *File > Export* greyed out?
If so, it's probably because you have the audio open in the audio file editor. The only option from here is to Save As.
If you put the audio in a track of a multitrack project then File>Export should be available to you.

  • Cannot export media from Premiere Pro CS4

I am unable to export media from premiere pro cs4. The process I go through is as follows
select files/sequence I want to export
    select file menu
    scroll down to export
    select media
nothing happens, premiere pro "freezes", as though it was going to open up adobe media encoder but does nothing, premiere pro can be "unfrozen" simply by pressing esc.
I have tried doing all of this with media encoder open and still nothing happens. if anyone has any suggestions please throw them my way. thanks.

  • Trouble with the round trip from Soundtrack Pro 2 to Final Cut Pro

I have edited a home movie together. I then have sent the sequence to Color for grading and then after completing the Color changes and Rendering. I sent it back to Final Cut Pro. It starts out working fine but during the transfer process it stops at somewhere between 50% and 60%. It is during the "Importing XML Data" phase. It just sits there and does not change and I have to force quit to get out of it. The exact same thing happens when I try to round trip from Soundtrack Pro 2 back to Final Cut Pro. So I am unable to make use of the changes I make in these programs.
This is a round trip process that I have successfully made many times before. Nothing has changed. I am working in Final Cut Studio 2 with the latest updates on an Intel Mac. Any advice on how to remedy this situation would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

Make sure your easy setup has the correct frame rate for your sequence.  Seems crazy but somehow or other fcp assigns a frame rate to audio files.   I've found this can sometimes be tricky to get right.  Here's what I've done to force the issue.  Make sure the easy setup frame rate reflects that of the target sequence in fcp.  Create a new project.  import the audio in the new project.  And then copy the clip from the new project to your main project.

  • Exporting from Soundtrack Pro - Trouble

I am having problems exporting from Soundtrack Pro. I haven't had these problems before.
I have tried to export a track to MP3 and to Compressor but all I get is the Exporting window and that's as far as it goes. It says, 'Time Remaining: Estimating...' but then that's it. I had even left it for a few hours and still nothing happened.
The program isn't frozen, just the export isn't working. Is this a common problem? Can it be fixed?
    Many thanks.

    I have the same problem...
I finished working on a project and when I tried to export it - it would start out just, tell me that it would be done in less than a minute and the just suddenly stop 1/4 of the way for no reason. Same thing happens whatever I do - in the same exact place. I spent a lot of time finishing this edit so I really want to get it back to FCP.
    Can anyone help?

  • Space Designer from Soundtrack Pro

I currently have Final Cut Studio 2 and I just got Logic Express 8 on my MacBook Pro.
Soundtrack Pro includes the Space Designer effect, and I am wondering if anyone knows where the effect is stored on the hard drive (I could only find the presets) and, if whether Logic Express restrict me from using it or if Logic Express simply does not install it.

Simply you can't use SD into Logic Express.
    cheers

  • What happened to all the cool sound effects from Soundtrack Pro?

I've recently had to upgrade my imac and macbook pro and my Final Cut Studio 7 isn't compatible with the newer verison Macs. How can I get access to the sound effects that came with the older garage bands and soundtrack pro applications? I've purchased Final Cut X and Logic Pro, but still seams as if the older verisons have better sound effects.

Have you a backup of your older system?
Then try to restore these folders from your backup to a folder on your Desktop and add all missing loops to your loop library in the corresponding folders:  You'll find them in the "Library" folder directly at the top level of all files on your Macintosh HD:
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro/
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/
    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Final Cut Pro Sound Effects/
After you restored the folders with the loops use the command "Reindex all Loops" in the "Loops" drop down menu in the Loop Library.

  • Repost from soundtrack pro forum: advice needed on how to master a dj mix.

i posted the info below on the soundtrack pro forum and someone suggested i use waveburner to master my dj mix after it's been recorded:
when i record a mix in soundtrack pro, it's 1 long song. sometimes certain parts of the mix come in at a lower volume than other parts because some records or songs aren't as loud as the previous song that it was mixed out of.
how can i bring up the volume on the lower parts and make them equally as loud as the other songs? or, how do i level out the volume without making the mix sound worse?
any advice on getting the EQs and other settings right would be appreciated.
if anything's not clear, please let me know.

no, i have not. would waveburner be more appropriate for what i want to do post-mix?
    if so, could you elaborate?

  • Render video pon audio import from Soundtrack Pro

Unique issue I have here. My video is standard NTSC Animation Codec and is in my Sequence in FCS2. I import my project into Soundtrack Pro edit my audio, Export back into FCS 2 (following the manual to insure proper steps).
Once I arrive back into FCS2 my video needs to be rendered. It checked the codec and everything matches up fine. Why is it now asking me to render mt video?

    Paul,
Did you edit to picture inside STP? And was it in sync there?
You may have an issue with a frequency shift. Audio doesn't have frames. It really runs in "real time." So if you shift frequencies the units per second change. It still has the same number of units, so ultimately the time changes.
How did you get the audio into STP in the first place?

  • 5.1 output from Soundtrack Pro?

I have FCP Studio 2, and would like to get into 5.1 mixing in Soundtrack Pro. I know you need some sort of intermediary device to output through, but if anyone could give me some specifics that'd be great. I've seen "M-Audio 410 interface" pop up in other threads, and was wondering if the Griffin Firewave is comparable (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewave/).
On a side note, I do have a Sony amplifier that is capable of 6.1 surround.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • Files from soundtrack pro play really slow in FCP

I tired searching the threads and couldnt find an answer
I'm trying to lay down a music bed in FCP before i edit a sequence.
I went into SOundtrack pro and listened to it.. looping music bed 40.aiff
    sounds awesome.
go over to fcp.. click on import and i find the file amongst my libary and stuff
then i laid it into my sequence and the playback is really slow.
    i can;t figure it out.
    any help guys?

Sorry it took so long for you to find an answer, happens sometimes. Your bump can bring the wrath of the forum curmudgeons down upon your weenie little head but you got a good response to a post that got lost off the bottom of the page.
You're going to find digital video is full of weird little gotchas like this audio sampling rate thingy. Frame rates. And pixel aspect ratios. And color spaces. &c. I remember when video was just luminance.

  • I ran Logic Pro 9 recently, and I realised I had missing loops. When I checked the index, I realised all the loops were missing from Soundtrack Pro. Is there a dummies guide to uninstalling Logic Studio (not logic pro), or another way to retrieve my loops

  • Can I export both the Video and Audio from Soundtrack Pro? or just audio?

I opened a video in STP and added some effects to the audio. But I do not see any video export options??? Can I only export the audio??? How do I add the New audio to the final video???

Thanks for that Soundaround. I tried to use the encoder option as well, down to an .mp4 file, but the video did not play properly. The source material is HD 1080i .mov and the frame rate was default, set to 100% of original.
Do you know Why this is? I also tried the same conversion in cocktail and got the same results. Can I only compress down to an HD .mp4? I want to retain normal sync and smooth playback?

  • Soundtrack Pro Won't Refresh And Keeps Crashing!

    Hi,
Got a lot of issues with Soundtrack Pro, so much so that I've been using the basic Soundtrack version rather than the upgrade.
I'm using a G4 with FCP HD and the biggest problem I have with Soundtrack Pro is that it just keeps crashing!! I've also found that trying to use the Graphic Equalizer function crashes everything, from Sountrack Pro, Soundtrack, right through to Final Cut. Every other audio filter works fine in Final Cut, except for the EQ filter. But lots of functions inside Soundtrack Pro, crash it.
I can only use it for short clips and short periods of times . But the worst thing is, if I save a clip either from Final Cut or from Soundtrack Pro itself, the moment I try and open that new clip, it doesn't appear in the browser. I have to close the software down, open it and THEN it appears in the browser. I can't find anyway of refreshing the file list.
Strangely this 'saved files not appearing' problem also happens in DVDSP, as well as Soundtrack Pro, but it never happens in Final Cut HD. Any solutions?

"is there anything unusual about the location where you save these files? (on a network volume, or something)"
I don't think so, although my boot drive was formatted separately from my video drive, they are both internal. But it doesn't matter if I save the file on the video drive or the boot drive, STP won't see them until I shut the program down and reopen it again.

  • Soundtrack Pro?

Recently there's been a lot of talking on the web about the future of Apple's (pro) video and audio applications.   Adobe has some aggressive deals for people switching to Premiere Pro or the Creative Suite (which as you know now includes Audition).   There's also great tutorials and technical documents for switching to Premiere Pro as well.  However, the audio love gets drowned out by all the other stuff.
So I wanted to focus just on audio and talk about Soundtrack Pro.   If any of you are/were fans of Soundtrack Pro.   I invite you to download and try out the following files.   I noticed on Twitter that there was some speculation about "STP was rolled into FCPX" or "STP functionality will be rolled into Logic" and so forth.   Now you can roll STP into Audition which is here to stay. We're already actively working on the next version to address some of the most common requests.  You can also get a feel for where our larger pro video and audio business is going, but note that we on the Audition team have some very audio-centric plans as well to more directly address your needs.
    File
    Info
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0ApplicationSettings.xml
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0/AppPrefs.xml
Color Scheme and some preferences here and there that are close to Soundtrack Pro's
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0/Shortcuts/Soundtrack Pro 3.xml
Soundtrack Pro Keyboard Shortcuts added or changed from Soundtrack Pro 3 User Manual
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0/Workspace/Saved Workspaces/UserWorkspace2.xml
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0/Workspace/Archived Workspaces/UserWorkspace2.xml
Workspace layout that is somewhat similar to Soundtrack Pro's default layout.
Just copy the attached files to the location shown above.   Note that you may want to backup your previous preferences folder (~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/4.0) in case you'd like to switch back.   I just context-clicked on the folder in Finder and chose "Duplicate" to back up mine.

    Okay, now for Part 2...
To use the impulse responses that are installed with Soundtrack Pro with the convolution reverbs in Audition...
    Step
    Details
Locate the impulse responses on your system drive (/Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/Apple/
Select the files you'd like to use and rename the .SDIR extension to .AIFF (they're really AIFF files with some extra proprietary metadata that the Apple apps use).  A batch rename operation can easily be scripted.
Fire up your STP-skinned version of Audition (see above) and open a file.
    Add the Convolution Reverb effect
Click on the [ Load... ] button to locate your renamed SDIR --> AIFF impulse file
And that's all it takes.  You should be able to use their surround impulses with our Surround Reverb which acts in a similar way to the "Convolution Reverb" effect.  However, I haven't looked at that in a while and can't remember if the channels get mapped correctly.  You can even save Presets for your favorite custom impulses.
