Reconnect multiple photos witout doing one at a time

I read the suggestions for reconnecting multiple photos when the photos are all from one file, but nothing worked for me.  In "Edit" I click Reconnect Photos, Instead of waiting for ever (and still does not auto-reconnect photos) I click Browse, the Reconnect Missing Files two sided page opens, on the left are the photos, on the right the location of files choice.
In the left side I select all the photos I want to reconnect, and on the right side I find the correct drive and folder the photos are in (PS- it is never in alphabetical order) and click "find".  Nothing happens-the photos do not reconnect.
WTF?  What am I doing wrong?
SkipRag

Try Reconnecting one of the files manually and then try auto-reconnect.
For Manual Reconnect: Click on "Browse" button present on reconnect dialog to open manula reconnect dialog.
For Auto Reconnect: Go to File >> Reconnect >> Reconnect All Missing.

I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this  thread for background.

  • Every song in my library is duplicated.  How do I delete the duplicates without doing one at a time?

How do I delete duplicate songs in my library without doing one at a time?

Apple's official advice on duplicates is here Find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership, or that sometimes the same file can be represented by multiple entries in the library and that deleting one and recycling the file will break the other.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

  • HT201365 I recently updated my Ipad 2 with iOS7 and I suddenly have 794 emails in my inbox which were previously read and deleted.  how do I get rid of them without doing one at a time?

I recently updated my Ipad2 to iOS7 and suddenly have 794 emails in my inbox which were previously reviewed and deleted.  How can I get rid of them without doing one at a time?

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup.  If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup.  You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone.  However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

  • Multiple photo streams on one PC?

My wife and I each have iPhones and we also have several iPads in the house. We used to use one Apple ID on all the devices.  But with Family Sharing I decided to switch to each person having their own Apple ID but I don't know exactly how this works.
I want all of our photos to be uploaded to Photo Stream on one PC.  Is this possible?  Will all of our Photo Streams be consolidated into one Photo Stream of the Family Organizer?  Or will they each be in separate streams tied to each Apple ID.  Or should I be using iCloud Photo Library. And will that consolidate the photos?

Photo stream photos don't use any of your personal storage, but comes with limitations (up to 1000 photos for 30 days and only holds photos...and videos of 5 min or less in shared streams).  If you turn on iCloud photo library that does use your personal iCloud storage, but will host both photos and videos, limited only by the amount of storage in your account.  Also, just so you are aware, turning on iCloud photo library will remove the my photo stream album from your iOS devices, but they can still upload photo stream photos to your computer.
I know many people are experiencing problems using iCloud photo library right now...guess that's what it's still beta.  You might have to fight it to get it to work.  Be sure to back up your original photos/videos to your computer if your going to use the current beta release.

  • ITunes lost all of my files on the external drive, thousands of songs.  Is there a way to load them back in without doing one at a time?

I've just updated the lates iTunes, and now it seems to have lost all of my music.  I have thousands of songs on an external drive, none of them can be found...the songs are in multiple folders on the external drive so the media folder to the external folder doesn't fix the problem...iTunes isn't seeing songs that are in different folders with sub folders.  Is there a way to have iTunes discover the music on the external drive to avoid reloading each of them one at a time?

When you first download iTunes onto a PC, it will give you the option to allow iTunes to search for your music. I'd suggest removing iTunes from your PC, connecting your external drive and then download iTunes from scratch. I'm pretty sure if you let it, it will find the music for you.

  • RECONNECTING MEDIA... ONE AT A TIME ?????

I migrated my I-tunes list from my dual 1.25 G4 to my new MacPro but its didn't automatically connect... I have several hundred songs in my library and have to find and connect a song individually by searching its title.
Is that the only way to do it- one at a time?
Is there anyway to have the whole list re-connect to its appropriate file automatically?
    Thanks

Basically the EDL will decide on the relevant cuts so once that is imported into final cut it's simply the case of connecting up the relevant media files, however the EDL offline timeline has the same naming throughout so each cut in the timeline has the same name but I am able to reconnect all the media gradually by selecting them one by one... Will the EDL have to have the exact name as the media files in order to reconnect all files at once?
    Thanks

  • Is there any other way to purchase photos other than one at a time?

    Hi everyone!
I love aperture, and would like to purchase some photos...whenever I click file>order prints, I'm led to order a SINGLE PRINT for just that photo. Does aperture offer like a shopping cart method, where I can check out all at once? i ask this not only for convenience, but also to save money on shipping; it would charge me 2.99 per photo when I could just as easily put em all in the same shipment.
    thanks!

i figured it out, thanks for looking at the question

  • Multiple photo streams to one Macbook

My wife and I each use different Apple IDs on our iPhones for iCloud and for separate Photo Streams but we only have one family Macbook.  How can both of our Photo Streams link to the one Macbook?

How can both of our Photo Streams link to the one Macbook?
Each of you can have their own user account and iPhoto library on the Macbook.  You can use Quick User Switching to move between the two accounts.
There's no way to have two iCloud accounts link to the same iPhoto Library.  However, with the release of the new Photos application for the Mac early next year and iCloud Drive one account on the Mac may be able to access photos from both iCloud accounts.

  • Automator. Need to send multiple photos each by one email.

    Hello everybody.
Help me please to create a task in Automator.
I have 500 images of JPEG 12-15 MB size and I need to send each one to [email protected] one by one email.
Since some mail servers have permit of size attachments not more than 20 MB - I can send only one image per one email.
    So the steps simply are:
    1) New mail
    2) enter email address
    3) add attachment (number 1)
    4) send
    Next
    1) New mail
    2) enter email address <<< same email
    3) add attachment (number 2)
    4) send
    Etc...
    Best regards,
    Art Fry.

I had a similar problem and created a service to attach from finder to a new email and then I changed to Outlook and had to update it to do the same in outlook.
    open automator
    Under choose template select "service"
At the top of script side will be the option "Service receives selected" set to "file" in "you can choose any application but since I only want this in finder that was my choice"
select the mail program in automator so that the related actions are shown.
    if you use Mac Mail
first select New Mail Message by dragging into the script.
2nd select add attachment to front message.
    if you use outlook
first select Create New Outlook Mail Message
2nd Add Attachments to Outlook Messages
save the scripted service with an appropriate name such as attach to email.
From then when you right click in finder the option to "attach to email" (or whatever you named it) will be shown to activate your script.

  • I synched my iphone4 on my wife's imac to down load pics but got 700 unwanted contacts.  How can I get rid of them without doing one at a time?

I synched my iphone4 with my wife's imac with the hope of  uploading pictures from my phone.  Instead I now have 700 plus contacts on my phone I do not want. How can I get rid of them except one ata time?

iTunes does not handle the import of photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll.
If this is not the computer you sync your iPhone with, you should have been provided a warning message that your iPhone is associated with an iTunes library on another computer and when trying to transfer any iTunes content from a different computer, a warning message is provided indicating that all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first.
When connecting an iPhone to iTunes on another computer, none of the options under the various tabs for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes are selected automatically. This means you had to select Sync Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your wife's computer.
Assuming you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, connect your iPhone to Tunes on your computer and without syncing, under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone followed by a sync.
For importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll which can be done with a computer that is not used for syncing the iPhone since syncing with iTunes is not involved.

  • Multiple embeds, play only one at a time?

I'm working on page with CD track info and I want to have a small quicktime play button by each song that will play a 30 second sample. I've already done this by just embedding each mp3 sample into the xhtml page. The problem is, a person can click on multiple tracks and they'll all play at the same time. Is there any way to get (attribute or javascript?) so that when some clicks on a track, the previously clicked track that is still playing (if there is one) will stop first?
I appreciate any help you can give me.

    I suggest you start here:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/Conceptual/QTScriptingJavaScript/aQTScripting_Javascro_AIntro/chapter_1_section1.html
...with the JavaScript API for QuickTime. I don't have an answer for you, but some of the attributes you are looking for are exposed to JavaScript. One trick is that to get the QuickTime plugin to do the heavy lifting for you, you need to insure that you are playing your clips in the QuickTime plugin (duh...). They may be MP3 files, but you might want to embed them in a .MOV container in order to make sure they don't get hijacked by some preferred audio player.
Of course, if you do that, you could, I suppose, just use a QuickTime reference movie to link all the media files together into a single player...

  • How does one SUCCESSFULLY transfer Time-Machine backup to a new (larger) hard disk drive using OSX 10.5.8

I have read a number of articles about how to transfer a complete Time-Machine backup to a new (larger) hard disk-drive.  Some of these articles are specifically for OSX10.6 users, which are not applicable to me since I am operating with OSX 10.5.8.
However, I have tried several times to use the Disk Utility 'Restore' function, dragging my old time-machine volume into the 'Source:' box and my new volume into the 'Destination:' box.  This works, of sorts, BUT the newly created volume on the new larger hard disk-drive remains the same size as the original volume on the old Time-Machine HDD, with no apparent way of increasing the new volume's size.  So I am not really any better off:
E.g. the total capacity of my new HDD is stated by 'Disk Utility' to be 465.8 GB, of which I'm told 228.2 GB is used for the Backups.backdb folder, but only 4.6 GB of free space is actually available.  Yet under the 'Partition' tab of 'Disk Utility' it tells me that there is still 236.4 GB of available space.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue without upgrading to OSX 10.6?

First, how did you prepare your new drive?  See:
    Drive Preparation
    1.  Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.  If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
If you plan to partition this new drive then be sure you create a larger partition for TM than your old volume.
Next, clone your old TM volume:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4.Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.

  • Can multiple photos be displayed at the same time in  a slideshow?

    Hi folks,
I don't actually have iPhoto '11, I'd like to get a little info before I go out and get it. I really like photo slide shows to music, it's the thing I love most about my first gen Apple TV. The slide show is awesome, how it displays many photos at once, spins them around, layers them, etc. Is there any way to replicate that behavior with an iPhoto slide show?
    Thanks for your time!
    -Adam vonNieda

    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie, on every Mac sold, as is iDVD.
    Others, in order of price:
    PhotoPresenter $29
    PhotoToMovie $49.95
    PulpMotion $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
    Final Cut Express $199
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs.
However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • Sooo... How does one restore a Time Machine backup to an Air?

My girlfriend is getting an hand-me-down air to replace her white MB whose logic board recently died. It comes in today, I was going to restore, I realized that I can't boot up and select that drive without starting up into a OS X dvd. How the heck are you supposed to restore an Air? Is there an elegant Apple solution? Everything I seem to find on the 'net is pretty difficult/ridiculous.
    Thanks...

If the computer is bootable, you can run the migration assistant from the applications folder (assuming you have enough free space on the harddrive).
Otherwise, there's a number of ways to remote reinstall or restore from the MacBook Air without a superdrive. A USB superdrive or other optical drive would be fastest, but the remote disk option is also possible with a little patience and a lot of time.
