Reconstruction in BI 7.0

Hi
What is the use of Reconstruction tab in BI 7.0, I understand that - if we delete the request from a cube by some reason we can recostruct the data from the PSA using reconstruction.
Another clarification I need is, if there is a DSO before the cube and we do reconstruction, will the data get pulled from the PSA / DSO? if it is not from DSO - will the data get loaded to DSO again in the process?

What help you require?
Its standard functionality, SAP help document says "This function is only necessary for InfoCubes that obtained their data from 3.x InfoPackages.".
Now why is it there in 7.0?
Because 7.0 systems can have 3.X dataflow.Its more like backward compatibility, as manage screen is common to 3.X flow and 7.X flow.

Reconstructed Welcome page will not animate a .gif clipart

Upon having to reconstruct my Welcome page because the weblinks had to be re-entered thanks to a friend informing me they were not engaging, upon rectifying the weblinks, when I published the changes, the animated gif did not appear. After several attempts, I reconstructed the page by getting a fresh page. I was able to successfully copy-paste the contents, retype the side-bar that included web links, pasted in from file, the animated gif. It pasted in but would not animate. I tried many times over with no results. Gifs located on other pages are active. But, this one that is animated on the website were I download it

Yes, the dove animates on the previous welcome page which no longer exists as I am in the process of uploading the entire website. I will not know if the animation occurs until I finish the upload.
Right, you are. It is not an iWeb issue if the gif file does not animate when I open the file on the desktop. But, as I typed this sentence, my brain awoke to the idea that I must not open the file, copy, paste it into iWeb. Instead, one must drag the file into iWeb. I just tried that and VOILA! the animated bar is there.
You just prodded me enough to resort to using my brain with your last sentence. I had completely forgotten that gif files are drag files.
Case resolved.

Short dump while reconstructing request in ODS

Hi
I had loaded a request into a few ODS, but later found i had to do some changes to the PSA manually, so i deleted the request from all the ODS and modified the records in the PSA.
Now when i try reconstruction it gives a short dump in one of the ODS with message "Exception condition "NOT_EXIST" raised. ".
Data from this ODS was further loaded to a few other targets as delta and while deleting the request it gave a message saying the delta will be deactivated, I said Ok and the request was deleted.
I was able to reconstruct the request in all the other ODS and cubes without any issues.
what could be the problem???

I am doing PSA to ODS. The data is available in PSA. the reconstruction went thru fine in the other targets. but when i try it in the ODS that i want it goes for a dump. This is where the error occurs.. shown in the dump..

Error while doing reconstruction

Hi,
While doing reconstruction of the info cube which is getting updated from the another cube i am getting following error.
Delta upload is only possible after successful initialization.
Message no. RSBM103
Diagnosis
You tried to extract records using a delta request in the target BW. Howver, it is not possible to transfer a consistent delta for this DataSource.
System response
One of the following takes place:
1. You have not yet triggered the delta update with an init request.
2. The delta update was initialized but a request was deleted that was already transferred into the target BW.
3. The delta update was initialized but a request was deleted that was not yet transferred into the target BW.
In each case the consistency of the data transferred into the target BW is not guaranteed.
Procedure
Restructure the delta update by deleting the delta request that already exists in the target BW and then submitting an init request to InfoCube 0AFMM_C02 of the source BW.

You can't have full load and delta load in ODS unless full is marked as <b>repair full load</b>.
Now in your case you have done full load to the ODS and now want to carry on with delta load then you will have to execute the program "RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG" for that ODS. And then run the init load for the ODS.
Now some times you have delat load going on in a ODS and you want to full load then you will have to set the repair full load setting in the infopackage when doing full load. Repair full request setting is in the top menu "Scheduler" of the infopackage.

Monitor status Green buy in details tab reconstruction process is in red

Hi,
I am facing an issue with RSMO. It is master data load trough PSA. Some records are marked as error in PSA, while updating data to data target trough info package correct records were uploaded into target, error records not uploaded, but QM Status is green.
If I check in details tab Reconstruction process has failed.
We are working in BW 7.0 version, but data flow is still on 3.5.
Patch level: 18
Any inputs appreciated.

Wht is the target here? Is there any data packet red?
If u feel that all the packets are in green and processed u can change the status to green and leave it...
and if the target is DSO and if the activation fails also under the details it'll give the same information...
Once open the longtext of the red status where it is showing and chk..

Unable to see the request in Reconstruction Tab of Info Cube

Hi Experts,
We are scm 5.1 version.
Actually I have created extraction process to extract data from Demand Planning area. I have extracted data from planning area also. I can see the request in to PSA as well as Info Cube but I am not able to see the request in reconstruction tab.
Is there any setting to see the request in to Reconstruction tab of the info cube?

Reconstruction is critical functionality for our current DP solutions, it allows us to "reconstruct" old requests from the backup InfoCube (based on what's been kept in the PSA) and use this to restore data in the planning area to a day in the past. It is used whenever there is a technical or user error than needs to be un-done. I believe there is a way to accomplish with the BW 7.0 design.

Reconstruction of request in BI 7.0

hi All,
In 3.5 , i can go to "Reconstruct" tab in the cube and able to select the request which need to be reconstructed. But in 7.0, is there any way to reconstruct the request like what we used to do in 3.5. Can you please let me know how we should do this in 7.0 ?

Hi,
The reconstruct tab only works for InfoCubes loaded with 3.x data
flow objects (update rules).
In addition to this, this function only works if the data is stored in the PSA,
But since you know in BI 7.0 there is no PSA when u load data from DSO to Cube.

How to reconstruct the statistical cost of project stock?

We added the statistical cost element of 90 category for project stock BS account.
Now we find that some of the project stock don't have statistical cost,
some of the project stock have statistical cost(Value type: WRTTP=11).
How can we reconstruct the statistical cost of project stock to make it right?

Warning Messages related to Reconstruct Availability Control for Project

Hi Gurus,
In Transaction IM52 - Change Original Budget for Investment Management Program, after changing the Budget Values of Investment Management Position and when we check the transaction for error, we get Warning Messages, the warning message is as follows:
You Must reconstruct the availability control for Project P.000XXX.
We tried to reconstruct the Availability Control in Transaction CJBN and again checked for errors in IM52, then also we get Warning Messages.
As these are only Warning Messages we can ignore and save the modified budget values for the Investment Management Program. But we want to know whey these Warning Messages are keep on cropping up inspite of reconstructing the Availability Control for Project.
You inputs on this will help us immensly.

I am also facing the same issue.
Even if i am having enough budget, while making a PO, the system says " Budget exceeded".
i could processs the PO, after performing CJBW (deactivate), CJEN (refresh) and then performing CJBV ( activate availabilty control) for that project.
This is repeating everytime i make a PO. is there any permanent solution?
Even after performing all the above, if i check in IM52, and check for budgets (perform from menu), the error is " You Must reconstruct the availability control for Project P.000XXX"

FMN0 - Reconstruction of FI Doc in FM with wrong figures

I reconstructed one FI - HR document from FMN0 with SAR as document currency where following are the system settings. We don't have PBET.

I tried several times by deleting the orginal FM document by using RFFMDLFI program and reposting it again by FMN0 but still the figures in FM document are not matching with FI LC currency.
The rest of the system for postings in FM are working fine.

How to export & reconstruct a digital signature

I would like to submit a reader-enabled pdf form with a digital signature from within a browser.
I'm currently using CoSign Digital Signature to successfully create the signature. I have created a test form with Acrobat X Pro and assigned the "Submit a Form" action to the submit button. The form is configured to submit to a perl cgi, with the Export Format set to FDF with the following settings...
- Field Data
- Incremental changes to the PDF
The post data is received as the POSTDATA parameter and printed back to the browser as content-type: application/vnd.fdf. However, when the fdf is printed back to the browser the digital signature is not included in the signature field. The rest of the form is populated successfully. If I log the POSTDATA value, I can see what appears to be the digital signature.
According to the Adobe docs...
"FDF Exports as an FDF file. You can select one or more of the available options: user-entered data, comments, and incremental changes to the PDF file. The Incremental Changes To The PDF option is useful for exporting a digital signature in a way a server can easily read and reconstruct."
My question is, how do I reconstruct the digital signature so that I can save it offline within the PDF file?

You can't sign a blank document simply by importing an FDF. The data is in the FDF, but the appened saves (aka incremental change) would have to be extracted from the FDF (e.g., using the no longer supported FDF Toolkit) and then concatenated with the original blank form that was used by the person who filled-in and signed. I can't say for sure this will work any more anyway as Acrobat/Reader has changed the way this works and does a Save As (as opposed to Save) when a document is signed, so there is no incremental change data any longer.

Problem with reconstruction....very urgentttttttt

I was reconstructing the request in ODS. After reconstructing the request with out changing the indicator from red to green I activated the request.
It got activated....but with red color in the indicator.
When I am trying to delete that request it is not allowing me to delete it.
Even in the reconstruction tab also I am seeing that request in Red color.
Is there any way rt to delete the request and reconstruct it once again...

I just used RSDELPART1 program to delete the request...then I got short dump....
this is the short dump I got

    In the source code you have the termination point in line 81

IO error - REconstruction required?

Is there a reconstruct program for Internal orders?
In KOB2 I have an internal order that is not being updated. There are two lines in the report, one shoing the actual and one showing the commitment. The report should only show 1 line with the residual commitment amount. Any advice would be apprecaited!

Reconstruct

Hi BI Expert,
If we do the reconstruct then can we get the updated data in data load if its taking data from another datatarget in update rule?
My problem is I am having one infocube which takes data from one of ODS1 and ODS1 it self get loaded another ODS2.There is a routine written in b/w of them.
In ODS2 there is a field which is having lookup in another ODS ODS3.
In the past when ODS3 get loaded i.e on 7th April ODS1 had some load issue for that few of the records were missing in Infocube.
Now we would like to reconstruct the data in Infocube .
My query is if i will do the reconstruct will it take the updated record from ODS3 or not.
I know its bit complicated structure but please let me know if you need more info on this.

Thanks for the reply but as i mentioned we need to do the reconstruct at ODS level.My question is how the reconstruct has happened.
As i explained in this ODSA there is one field Equipment which is picking data from another ODSB.
This equipment had blank value due to the fact that ODSA got loaded befor ODSB due to some load issue on 7th April and we missed the euiment detail for few of the nos.
Now we would like to reconstruct that 7th April request in ODSA my question is while doing the reconstruct will it take the latest entry present in ODSB for equipment or not.

The user deleted every single mail from his mailboxes via webmail. Every folder appeared empty in the webmail, the inbox, recycle bean, sent mails... all of them (I checked it). However, it stated that the quota usage was 50%. That was because in the server there were 50 MB of .msg files, and the user's quota is 100 MB. I don't know why happened that, as far as I know, if the .msg files were expunged messages, they shouldn't count for the quota usage, is that right?
Anyway, I removed the messages using rm, then imexpire and reconstruct -r user/username/INBOX. I sent two emails to the user with attached files, they were correctly received and the quota usage changed right (files size was 2 MB, so quota usage was 2%). I deleted the messages via webmail, I was able to see them in the server but did not appeared via webmail, and the quota was right, so everything seemed to be OK.
The weird thing is:
root@machine # reconstruct -n user/username/INBOX
user/username/INBOX
ERROR: Inconsistent information: 0 idx records 2 messages 3 expunged
So, I run reconstruct -n user/username/INBOX, it finds the problem, it shows something like "reconstructing: OK", but if I run the reconstruct -n again, it still show the "Inconsistent information" error. ¿? What am I missing?
