Record Drive/Partition not found

I am getting this message when trying to arm a track for recording :
Record drive/partition “es/Audio 1/Tom and Dirk/My Own Sweet Time/Audio Files/Audio Recording” not found!
Any ideas? I was recording a take just fine and wanted to record a second take and got the above message. It does it when I create and arm another track for recording. I tried restarting the session, restarting Logic, rebooting the machine, repairing permissions all to no avail. What is going on?

This is a BUG!!! A big one at that.
I know 3 other Logic 8 users experiencing this.
I do not know what causes it, although it may happen after you delete an audio region, like discarding a take.
The "es/Audio 1/ etc... should say "Volumes/Audio 1/ etc... I've gotten "olumes/Audio 1/etc... and even had it read the exact name of the Audio path "Volumes/Audio 1/etc...
However, if you had simply hit the "O.K." button, Logic would have taken you directly inside the proper Audio Files folder, where you would hit O.K. again, and be back up and running.
So while this bug is quite annoying, just click O.K. at the prompts, and the original audio path will be restored.
Hit Logic's Feedback page hard with this one.

    I actually have not had this happen to me in several months, and in fact, haven't even thought about it in a while.
    But back when it would happen, I would be working away, recording audio without any problems, and then I'd hit record again for something, and out of nowhere, get a message like this:
    "olumes/Audio Drive/Album Projects/John Doe/Song title/Audio Files" not found.
    When the first word should have been "Volumes".
    So I would click and hold the record button to get to reset my audio pathway, and the proper path would already be listed. I would then merely click the "Set" button, and be back in business.
    And there were even a handful of times when I would get that message with the full name listed, the V was there in "Volumes', and everything listed correctly, and going to the record settings, everything was set properly. But I'd still have to hit "Set" to remind Logic where the pathway was pointed to.
    Definitely a bug.
    But... this bug never happened to me in Logic 7. It was only since installing and using Logic 8, that it occurred. And as I mentioned, it now hasn't happened in months.

  • Record drive/partition "500G Ext HD Western Digital" not found!

    I don't know why I'm getting this message when I open any songs I've recorded in Logic Express. It just started doing this today. Here is the message:{Record drive/partition “500G Ext HD Western Digital” not found!}
    I do not get this message when I open and work on songs I've recorded in Garageband.
    The 500G Ext HD is my external hard drive.
    Does anyone know what this means and how I can resolve it and get back to recording music??

    Does the disk appear OK on your desktop?
    When exactly do you get this message? When you double-click on a Logic file on your external drive? Or when you start a new project? Is your record path set properly in Logic?
    First, as you may be nearing a hard disk problem, make sure that all essential files are backed up properly.
    Then, open up your Disk Utility and run 'Verify Disk' and 'Repair permissions' on your external drive. If you have a copy of Disk warrior, even better.

    I solved this by using the uuid instead of the root:
    # (0) Arch Linux
    title Arch Linux - SSD
    uuid 128a4425-c9ae-433f-b604-5488d55a14b3
    kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdb3 ro vga=775
    initrd /boot/kernel26.img
    Also, I got "grub-install" to run much faster by removing the fd0 from the device map.

  • Record Drive/Partition...

    I've got Logic Pro 7 the Academic version and for some reason it's giving me a whole ton of problems. The main one, though, is, when I go into the 24 track template, and click the record button, I get the following error:
    Record Drive/Partition "OS X HD" Not Found!
    I click ok, it goes into the file saving thing, I type in something (gtr1 or something) and it says:
    "Could Not Create File"
    Anyone know what might be going on?

    Every Logic song has an audio path that is where the audio files recorded will reside.
    What's happening, is that template/song is looking for a volume (hard drive) that doesn't exist on your system.
    When that prompt comes up, navigate to the hard drive you plan on using for recording audio, and select it. You can even goes a far as selecting a specific folder on that hard drive (recommended). Then save that song. The audio "pathway" will then be remembered the next time you open that template up.

  • Help! "Recording#68.aif not found"

    Hey everyone,
    I was just in the middle of recording guitar for a song when I noticed GarageBand wasn't recording anymore and I couldn't hear myself play. All of my equipment was hooked up properly and all volumes were up. So I saved and quit GarageBand, reopened it and tried to record again. When it began to open my song file, a window popped up that said "Recording#68.aif not found". Now I find that I can't record anything on any of my other songs either! It looks like its recording but won't playback any sound and I can't hear anything in the monitor.
    What happened? What can I do? Can anyone please give me some suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    The iMic is a weird duck. To get it to work properly I plug it in, choose it in Garageband audio prefs (Garageband initializes the driver), close the Garageband session and reopen it. Then everything works.
    The missing file, listed in your first post is a totally different story. It has nothing to do with the iMic. When you lock tracks, GB puts some files called recording.aif 1, 2 etc. in the Garageband package. These are basically a mixed down version of the track so GB can save cpu power to render the track. I have found that if I unlock all tracks I can safely delete these files and the .band file is smaller. If I lock tracks again new .aifs are created. In general, it is not good practice to mess with the Garageband package. A corrupt package will cause the session to not work.
    If you have gotten the track to work you might want to do the save as archive option to make sure you have saved the track properly.

    This error occurs if there is any problem with the partitions of the hard drive. You can boot with Recovery disk 1, go to command prompt and use disk part tool to resolve the problem.
    However, I would like to understand when this issue started to give better steps in detailed.

  • "Recovery partition not found" when trying to creat recovery discs.

    I received the following error message when trying to create recovery discs for the first time "recovery partition not found"  HP G61 401SA Notebook and it is a couple of years old and has windows 7 as th OS.
    I specifically purchased DVD-R discs for the disc creation, which was advised from HP site was the only disc suitable.

    One more thing, could you advise on how much space the recovery might be approximately - I will need to make sure a USB has enough memory available. Take another look at the disk management window. The partition sizes are visible in the descriptions. My HP loaner has a large recovery partition at >20GB. That mean I had to use a 32GB usb flash drive Most others are smaller and a 16GB usb flash drive will suffice.

  • Driver Version Not Found" Error when installing drivers for X-fi Xtreme audio

    I recently bought the game Bioshock off steam and have been unable to play as it crashes as soon as I try to launch it. After doing some digging around I found out it was a sound problem. When I was looking at the drivers for my sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio) I noticed that the driver called:?XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0079.exe has a fix for Bioshock. However when I install the driver I get the error "Driver version not found". I am positi've it is the correct driver for my sound card. I am on Windows 7 64bit.

    Hey!
    I have Vista Ultimate x64 and I ran windows update couple days ago. There was a new update for my xtreme audio pci-e. I installed it and now my driver version in creative software update is .3.2. Before i updated i ran creative's own software update. It didn't find any new drivers. I was WTF. I think that new driver fixed my volume problem. I had problem's when there was a deep bass in a song. The sound card lowered volume levels then somehow. Now that happens no more. In vista's device control it shows the driver version as 6.0.0.203. Driver date is 7 october 2008.

  • "Audio File "Recording#27.aif" not found" Error Message- Please HELP!

    Hi Everyone-
    I was opening a podcast today to finish editing it and I got this error message, "Audio File "Recording#27.aif" Not Found" - and, naturally, when I opened the project, half of a phone interview was missing (or, rather, it shows up as purple balloons but each one says "File Not Found" inside). This file is the audio from the interviewer (the interviewee file is totally fine, as are all others in the podcast). When I load the project it asks if I want to search for this missing file, but when I click yes it says that it can't be found.
    How can I find this file? What happened to it? Thank you for any ideas, suggestions, etc. For reference, I'm using GarageBand 3.0.4 on a MacBook Intel Core Duo 2Ghz and Mac OS X 10.4.11

    no, GB wouldn't delete anything on it's own. it only deletes files for which you've deleted the entire region from the timeline and then saved
    if the file is not within the projects, i'm afraid it's gone, and i can't think of any way that could happen by itself B-(>
    Well i guess I should warn others that copying and pasting is very dangerous stuff! I had two podcasts- in podcast #1 GB saved the interview file as "Recording#27.aif" and in podcast #2 GB saved a little intro clip under the same name. When I pasted the intro clip from podcast #2 into podcast #1 my interview disappeared. I didn't delete it- I was never asked about it, I didn't delete the region from the timeline, etc. I have to assume that since they had the same name, GB thought I no longer needed the "Recording#27" from podcast #1 and now I can't find it anywhere! If anyone has any suggestions as to how I could find this file I would be very appreciative.

  • Audio file 'recording#10.aif' not found (message)

    When I try to open any garageband files that contain real instrument recordings(purple recordings) I recieve a message saying "Audio file 'recording#10.aif' not found, or any other recording number... When the computer prompts me to search i tell it to, and then it comes up with the message "16 invalid region(s) changed!"
    I have found the original recordings in the finder and have tryed putting them in the garage band folder...
    Is the problem that the recording files have maybe changed location in the finder? If so, where does garageband send the files after they are recorded so that I can return them to there original locations?
    Thanks a lot guys.

    I once spent three days (long days) trying to track down and beat an "invalid region" problem, I finally had to admit defeat, nothing I tried could solve it.
    where does garageband send the files after they are recorded
    They are stored within the project you create. There are no scratch files.

  • Error oracle.sql.* and oracle.jdbc.driver.* not found when using oracle as a database

    I am using oracle as database and weblogic 4.5. I have copied the classes12.zip file in lib directory of weblogic. I am getting the error that oracle.sql.* and oracle.jdbc.driver.* not found when i am importing these packages in a jsp file. what i need to do to import oracle driver packages?I put it in the classpath also.
    Please Advice!
    Thanks in advance
    AnuPama

    Hi Anupama,
    First of all I would be surprised if you would not like to use the connection pooling feature of weblogic (in which case you might not be needing the import the classes directly), and would like to open direct connections to your database. Anyways for doing that I would recommend you to check out the readme doc that ships
    along with the jdbc oracle (classes12.zip etc). I am giving an excerpt over here:
    These are a few simple things that you should do in your JDBC program:
    1. Import the necessary JDBC classes in your programs that use JDBC.
    For example:
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.math.*;
    2. Register the Oracle driver before before calling other JDBC APIs.
    (This is not needed if you are using the JDBC Server-side Internal
    Driver because registration is done automatically in the server.)
    To register the Oracle driver, make sure the following statement
    is executed at least once in your Java session:
    DriverManager.registerDriver(
    new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    3. Open a connection to the database with the getConnection call.
    Different connection URLs should be used for different JDBC
    drivers. The following examples demonstrate the different URLs.
    For the JDBC OCI8 Driver:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@<database>",
    "scott", "tiger");
    where <database> is either an entry in tnsnames.ora or a SQL*net
    name-value pair.
    For the JDBC Thin Driver, or Server-side Thin Driver:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:thin:@<database>",
    "scott", "tiger");
    where <database> is either a string of the form
    <host>:<port>:<sid> or a SQL*net name-value pair.
    For the JDBC Server-side Internal Driver:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:kprb:");
    Note that the trailing ':' character is necessary. When you use
    the Server-side Internal Driver, you always connect to the
    database you are executing in. You can also do this:
    Connection conn
    = new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
