Record enable button not showing up in logic pro x?

it is checked under the "configure track header" box and even has a blank space for it ("input monitoring" button is slid to the right), but is invisible. checking and unchecking "record enable" slides the "input monitoring" button right and left. this isn't an issue with the built-in mic on my comp but does become an issue with my m-audio fast track. i have the fast track set as the input and output and can hear the microphone through the monitoring (although i don't think any added effects are present in the microhpone monitoring). it just cannot record. what? is this a driver issue or something? logic displays the interface correctly with the name and everything. thanks for any help.

Look at all the posts in the forum from users with similar problems, it happened with the last Logic update.

  • Why is my midi data not showing up on Logic Pro X?

So i've been working on this project for a while now and for some reason out of no where the midi data is not showing up. every time i click on a region, it doesn't open up the midi data for that track, but instead only opens up the data for a different track. No matter what region i try to open, it always goes to that one specific region, and if i try to click in notes it only puts them in on that region. furthermoer, the MIDI draw refuses to work. it will not let me pitch bend, change note velocities, or anything. Am i missing something obvious or what?? please help, this is one of my favorite projects so far and I don't want to trash it because i can't do anything with it.

Just happened to me. Then realized that I had clicked the "link" button off in the Piano Roll Editor and clicking it back on fixed it.

  • Audio Instr records but does not play back in Logic Pro 9

Hi all.... recently upgraded from a PPC G5 to an iMac 27"" 2.8 GHz Intel i7 w/4GB mem. was running Logic 7.2,now Pro 9. Here's my prob. After opening an old session in LP9 and recording an audio instrmnt (no prob setting up trk or recording) the trk won't play back. However,I was able to drag the recorded region to another trk (set up w/same audio instrmnt) and it plays. Is there some possibility that when opening a Logic 7.2 session that LP9 sees an audio instrmnr trk as an "audio"trk instead? Since I'm relatively new please excuse any newbie faults. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Blue Icicle XLR to USB adapter is not showing up on Logic Pro or Macbook Pro.

I've tried Aggregating it in the settings but there's no Microphone or Icicle even showing up. It's Glowing and I've tried the mic with an alternative interface so I know it works. Also there is no Driver for the product it is supposed to be plug and play. There's no manual either, so troubleshooting is out the door.
    Please help!
I'm using a Yeti Bluebird Mic with the Blue Icicle yet they are nowhere to be found!
Here is a screenshot of both:
Please help this is so frustrating

Previous? But is is selected as both in- and output...? ...and that can only be if it is plugged in...
same goes for your Icicle... it doesn't show up if it's not plugged in... so... try at least two more things: 1. Use a different USB port, in fact, try all, and (temporary, to troubleshoot) unplug any other USB device. 2. Try a different cable. 3. Reboot with the icicle plugged in.

  • No record enable button

Hi, there is no Record Enable button between the Mute and Freeze button. I can't for the life of me remember how to put it there and can't find it in the reference guide or within the forum. How do I make it show up in the Track List?
    Many thanks, Ros

Thanks a million Steve. I'm not a Garage Band user, but today I was able to record directly into it using the Built-in Input. It automatically set the source as "Stereo 1/2 (Built in input)", so at least I know that the computer Audio Input is working.
I don't know how to load it as a Logic project, but I saved it as a "Compact Project" to export it to iTunes. Then I imported the audio file into LE. I have the audio file, but not the Record Enable button.
So finally, I re-installed LE....guess what? Still no Record Enable button, not even in the Tutorial song. I used the Logic Set-up assistant again and chose Built-in input as the driver, rebooted. It tells me it will use the Built-in Inputs as it starts up. It shows Built-in input as the driver in the Core Audio LE preferences, but shows No Input in the arrange window when the Audio track is selected. If I touch Built-in input (as the driver) in the Core audio LE preferences, it disappears from the list of drivers (the only other one is Built-in Output) and asks me to reboot to launch CoreAudio, then the whole process starts over again.
I did a fairly extensive search in the forum (several pages) before posting my question, but I'll go back through it again.
The LE7 Manual just states that you should click the record Enable button on the Arrange channel strip. The problem is, it ain't there!
I really appreciate your assistance and calling up your friend all.
    Thanks, Ros

  • Nexus2 doesn't show up on Logic Pro X

So i installed the Nexus2 like instructed by ReFX, but its not showing up in Logic. I did the licence USB thingy, transferred content folder onto hard drive etc etc. I checked vst and the component folder, and nexus2 was there. But its not showing up on  logic pro x. Help?? Ive restarted my computer and re-installed it like over 10 times now, but it just doesn't seem to work. Many thanks!

Check Logic Pro X's Audio Unit Manager.... (LPX's menu bar / Logic pro X > Preferences > Audio Unit Manager.... ) and see if it's listed there..
    1) If it is not there you have not correctly installed the plugin or... it's not the 64bit AU version that you have installed... Check you have downloaded and installed the 64bit AU version.
Note: Logic Pro X only supports 64bit Audio Unit (AU) plugins and not older 32bit AU nor any other plugin types like VST and RTAS etc...
    2) If it is shown there, it will have a status message next to it....
    a) Successful Validation - You are not looking in the correctl place in Logic Pro X..  Create a Software Instrument track and then select that track and in the track strip.. click on the Instrument Button and look under the AU Instruments section at the bottom of the popup menu that appears...
    b) Failed Validation - Select the plugin and click on reset & rescan selection button. If it still fails validation contact ReFX for assistance...
    c) Crashed Validation - See (b)
    d) Couldn't be opened - See (b)

  • Record enable button disappeared Logic Pro X

I have been using Logic Pro X for several months without any problems but now the Record Enable Button has disappeared.
There is a space where it should be. If I choose "Hide Record Enable" the space disappears, but choosing "Show Record Enable" results in only a blank space where R used to be.
I have checked my hardware settings and my audio input appears like it should.
The problem is not appearing on my MacBook so I tried creating a new file and importing it to my desdtop Mac (Mini), but when I did this the Record Enable button promptly disappeared.

Well, yes.. but thats how you are meant to assign/select an Audio device in every version of Logic... going back several major versions now. You had to have done that in Logic Pro 8 or 9 in the past.. You probably just forgot you had to do so initially.
    Anyhow...
The problem described in this thread was caused by incompatible drivers and a change made to LPX during an update...
...and was not caused by the OP failing to select the Audio interface correctly in audio prefs in the first place...
    Cheers..

  • I have a m-audio producer usb microphone and since the update on Dec. 22, 2013 Logic hasn't been allowing me to record with it. Logic is reading the microphone as the input but the audio tracks don't have the record enable button. What's wrong?

I have a m-audio producer usb microphone and since the update on Dec. 22, 2013 Logic hasn't been allowing me to record with it. Logic is reading the microphone as the input but the audio tracks don't have the record enable button and won't let me select an input for the audio track on the inspector panel. What are some possible solutions.

Certain M-Audio USB devices (along with some other USB2 class compliant devices that don't use drivers) no longer work with Logic Pro X 10.0.5
At this time it is unknown as to why this has happened. Nor is it known if Apple will need to fix it or if it is up to the Developers of said USB2 devices  to remedy the problem.
In the mean time, assuming you made/could make backups prior to updating to 10.0.5.... the solution is to roll back to LPX 10.0.4...

  • Why isn't the edit button not showing in my ESX24 sampler?

why isn't the edit button not showing in my ESX24 sampler?

Is that during installation when you see the two icons.. the one on the left looking like a Garageband guitar icon, the one on the right like the Logic Pro platimum record icon?
Yes.. that one.. with the choice to click on which option you want/are coming from...
p.s. I'll probably aquire a Mac Mini this fall then upgrade.... I mean repurchase!
I think I managed to grab one of the last of the 2011 refurb'ed MMS's.... at that super low price Apple were selling them for... before they bumped it up and now, they seem to have none left at all at any price
However, just in case, I have found this site really useful at keeping track of Apple's refurb stock... and pricing

Ever since the update I can no longer record any audio with my blue microphones yeti mic. The "record enable" button that is usually visible in the track header area has disappeared even when enabled in track header configuration. I have also messed with the audio preferences settings but cannot get the button to show up. Please help report this bug to apple using the following link!

  • Record enable button on garageband

unable to find the record enable button in the track header on garageband

Same problem.  I have an Onyx 1620i mixer, late-2013 Macbook Pro.
Core Audio on the Macbook recognizes the Onyx and its multiple tracks.
When I create a track in Garageband (using Microphone/Line option) then during setup Garageband asks me to select which of the 16 channels on the Onyx I want the track to record.  The track then shows input level bouncing around as sounds are made on a mic connected to the mixer on the appropriate channel.
Everything seems to be working fine!  Except no Record Enable button appears on the track.  Can't record the audio that appears to be coming into the computer just fine.
I am aware that there are issues with Mackie mixers after OSX 10.7.1 (or 10.8 with some models).  Mackie hasn't bothered to keep up to Mavericks.  However I didn't think the issue was "doesn't work at all", but that there were some latecy problems that can cause hiccups.
So, despite appearances Garageband can't record from this device?  Or am I missing something else to record-enable a track?
Thanks in advance for any advice about resolving this, or even advice about an excellent Mavericks-capable device that will allow me to mix about 16 external inputs into the Macbook Pro.
