Record Enable/Disable Level Changing

Hey,
Is there any way to stop Logic from 'remembering' the position of the level fader when Record Enabling/Disabling the track?
e.g. If the level fader is set at 0 without the track Armed for Recording then you Record Arm the track and change the level fader to -10, when the track is Disarmed the level fader will return to 0, i.e. the position it was with Record Arm turned off.
I think this goes for pan, mute etc aswell.
Hope this isn't too confusing.
Thanks

Hey David,
Thanks for your reply.
The problem is when setting all this while the tracks are enabled for recording, when I have fineshed recording and disable all the tracks from recording to listen to them, all the level faders go back to 0 and I have to setup my mix again, this may sound silly but when tracking 14 tracks of drums, it can become quite tedious when in a tracking session and not really into the mixing stage.
Thanks again
Regards

    When in a call in Skype there is a global keyboard shortcut of CMD + Option + CTRL + Up Arrow to enable push to talk mode. There is no way to customize of disable it. I tried adding a global shortcut in keyboard maestro, it was triggered but the push to talk mode was also triggered in Skype. Is there a way to make keyboard maestro take control over these types of global shortcuts?

  • Record column level changes of table for audit.

    Hi Experts,
    I need  suggestion on recording column level changes in table for internal aduit purposes, our company policy does not allow us to enable CDC and CT on database levels so I am looking for whar are other the best ways for doing the same ?
    I know we can use triggers and OUTpUT clause to record the changes on tables but Is there any other light weight solution for recording changes on transactions tables which very gaint tables.
    Seeking your guidnace on solution side ?

    OUTPUT should be the best choice for your case as this would be much lighter than Trigger.

    Fixing up some logic around pauseWhenHidden (there were some bugs) and also changing some logic around enabling/disabling.  Also fixing a small documentation bug on VideoPlayer2.scaleMode.
    When a video component (or one of its ancestors) becomes disabled, the video pauses.  When it becomes re-enabled, we do not play the video.  This behavior is baked in to VideoDisplay and does not depend on the pauseWhenHidden flag.

    Thanks Erik,
    If nothing else, this huge list of updates and fixes, shows clearly that the Logic Dev team is working hard on fixing and improving LPX to a major degree.... and from the list of fixes done.. show they do read the bug reports submitted!
    As an aside....
    I recall how all the 'naysayers' prior to LPX (and in some cases, since...)  were proclaiming how Logic was dead, the team was being disbanded, we won't see any further development, the Dev team doesn't listen or care... and so on....... I wonder where those people are now?

  • Disable input monitor while record enabled?

    i just got an m-audio profire 2626 interface that I'm using to do my monitoring through, so i no longer want logic to monitor each track because it creates a weird double monitoring phaser thing. I thought that i disabled the monitoring by clicking the little "I" button next to the record enable, but as soon as i enable the track for recording it starts the monitoring again, is there away for me to disable monitoring when the track is enabled for recording?

    If you are monitoing using direct monitoring on your interface, you should disable "Software Monitoring" in the audio drivers preferences. Now Logic will not monitor signals through the mixer at all, leaving it up to your audio interface.

  • Option to NOT auto Record Enable?

    Have searched GB Help, the GB PDF, and this forum, but not finding the answer (which means I'm probably just not searching correctly). In any case...
    Is there an option or preference in GarageBand to NOT activate the record enable button when selecting a "Real Instrument"/audio track?
    I find myself doing a fair bit of extra clicking (to turn that little red button off) when I'm listening to different tracks in-between recording new ones, and I don't want the room tone or any random sounds being heard by the live mic added to the track playback to which I'm trying to listen. Since I'm frequently going back and forth between listening to various tracks and then recording new ones, I'd prefer to leave the mic connected and the record level where I've set it -- it would just be nice if I could disable that automatic Record Enable feature. But is there any way to do that?
    Thanks,
    John Bertram
    Toronto

    Dang.
    It's always ironic (and a bit annoying) when a feature that's been implemented as a convenience (most of the time), can never be turned off, even in those situations where it actually becomes inconvenient, and the user is forced to do more work instead of less.
    And you'd think this would be a relatively easy preference to include as an On or Off checkbox, perhaps under the "Advanced" tab. (There should also be some sort of keyboard combo, like holding Option while clicking to select a track, which temporarily overrides that global preference and causes the opposite to happen in just that one instance. This would be consistent with similar Opt-Click scenarios in many other apps.)
    And since the default setting would still be the automatic Record Enabling of a selected track, for the very casual user nothing would have changed. This trumps the counter-argument of "oh it's just a consumer app and we don't want to make it too complicated".
    In any case, thanks again HT for the quick reply.

  • Need help with OA Framework. Enable/Disable LOV dynamically

    Hello,
    I am new to OA Framework. My requirement is as follows;
    The page should have a field with parameter org code (LOV). When the user selects an org and click GO button, the page should display all the inactive items (which have no Sales order or work order for last 2 years). In the table region, user selects single record or multiple records by a check box. The selected records should be processed after clicking a submit button in the table region. The process is, calling an API to change the status of the item to Inactive or some other status. The status should be determined by the user by selecting a LOV within the table region. I could create LOV based field for org code and could display the data on the page. I have been trying to display the LOV for item status , I have created a LOV under table region under table components > table actions. I could open the LOV and select a value, but the value is not defaulting to the field on the page. Somebody please help me with a suggestion or if you have the code for a similar kind of requirement please share with me.
    Also, need some suggestion on how to enable and disable LOV dynamically. I want to display the 2 LOV's in different regions. I want to enable the LOV for Item Status only after the org code is selected and the page populated after the user clicks GO button.
    Thanks in Advance…..

    Hi,
    I could open the LOV and select a value, but the value is not defaulting to the field on the page.pls check the LOV mapping ,this might be wrong.
    to enable/Disable LOV dynamically ,u need to use PPR,please check the lab solution exercise create employee chapter to learn to implement PPR functionality.

  • How to enable the option Change in PSA

    Hi Guys
    What auhtorization do we require, which can enables to make changes in the data in PSA?
    I got SAP_ALL auhtorization, but i see that change option in PSA is disabled. Thus not able to make changes in the record.
    Regards,
    Rohini

    Hi Ryan,
    this is a little overview of this type of scenario:
    If you cannot change the request data in PSA, there would be several possible reasons:
    1. The request is already present in an InfoCube/ODS.
    (Logically, if you loaded with 'PSA only' option this scenario is not possible, but it is not completely true that ONLY with this option changes are allowed!)
    In this case changes to the data here would lead to inconsistencies.
    2. The request has already been successfully updated in the master data table of an InfoObject.
    3. No change authorization.
    Procedures to follow in the above-mentioned situations.
    For 1:
    In the data targets tree in Administrator's Workbench, select the InfoCubes or ODS objects to which you want to update the data from this request.
    Then, from the context menu, select Manage InfoCube or Manage ODS Object. Search for the existing request and delete it from the InfoCube or ODS object.
    For 2:
    Make your changes directly in master data maintenance for the corresponding InfoObject.
    For 3:
    Obtain the required authorization.
    Hope now is clearer!
    Bye,
    Roberto

  • Enable/disable buttons

    Hi All
    I have created an application wherein datablock is supposed to display 5 records at a time. In addition to it i have displayed 5 buttons alonside these records. But all the buttons are addresed by single name.
    I want to change the enable/disable property of the button in such a way that only those buttons get disabled where records value match with those given by me in procedure.
    Since all the buttons are having same name i am not able to target button corresponding to specific record.
    I will make the problem more clear:
    This is how my GUI looks
    Record1.element1 Record1.element2 Button1
    Record2.element1 Record2.element2 Button1
    Record3.element1 Record3.element2 Button1
    Record4.element1 Record4.element2 Button1
    Record5.element1 Record5.element2 Button1
    I want to disable button1 only corresponding to the record3.
    Can anyone help me out in this regard?

    Thanks Roel for your reply. I had already designed the way you mentioned(by using 1 button) but this is not the way application should look.
    Also I have to work on this application using designer only, that is the reason i have posted it in Designer forum so that i could get any clue as to how i have to proceed using designer.

  • How to enable /disable MWI ?

    Hi,
    I want to write a small application to enable/disable IP Phone lamp. But confused by how to enable MWI(Message Waiting indicator). TAPI ? AXL ? or some others , which can implement it . Could you give me some direction, thank you !

    I never checked what happens on a database level. However, for any actions that have a direct influence on a device, writing directly into the database is the wrong approach.
    As an example: if you set a forward (callforward all) via database (and not AXL), calls may well be forwarded, but the phone's status won't be adapted (so you don't have the callforward indicator and no information about the callforward). If you set the callforward via JTAPI or AXL, the phone's status will also be updated to show that it has been forwarded.
    When you configure a phone, you'll see the same thing in many cases.. especially in older CCM releases, you were often told that you need to reset the phone to apply a change you've made. In newer versions, this is often (but not always done automatically.. you'll see the phone restart after pressing update).. it's the same thing here.. you write into the database, but then you also have to apply those changes to the phone (one good example is changing a line label.. you won't get the label to change on the phone by just writing to the database.. you have to restart the phone for it to load the new label name).
    Even if you need to get the mwi status, JTAPI will do that for you (CiscoAddress.getMessageWaiting - and to set it, it's CiscoAddress.setMessageWaiting). Since you need a CTI command to set the MWI, you can as well resort to CTI to get the MWI status as well and don't bother with the database.
    fkcallingsearchspace_mwi is definitely not it though - I can tell you that without looking at the diagram since fk_anything is a foreign key and you have an uuid value in that field. The mwi status would be a boolean since it can have just two values. In fact, it's numplan.ismessagewaitingon but as I said.. with any element that has a direct influence on a phone's appearance or behavior, you cannot just change it... at best you need a phone reset. And if you do it with JTAPI (and probably TAPI too.. I can't be sure because I've never done TAPI and hope to never have to), you can change the MWI status on the fly without having to restart the phone, which is much more elegant.

  • [ADF UIX] Dynamically enabling/disabling fields

    Hi
    Another newbie question.
    Does anybody have any pointers on how to dynamically set the read-only property of a messageInputText field dependent on the value of another field in an ADF UIX input-only-form?
    To set the scene: I have a VO with the following columns:
    1) id
    2) subtype (values L or N)
    3) field1 (only editable when subtype = L)
    4) field2 (only editable when subtype = N)
    When the user creates a new record, the subtype will default to L. I need field1 to be enabled and field2 to be disabled. If the user changes the subtype field to N, field1 must be disabled and field2 enabled.
    Is this possible? Or is this best left to the spanking new ADF Faces?
    (My environment: JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 build 1618)
    Thanks!
    CM.

    Some research reveals one method to do this: EL (Expression Language).
    As an example I had the following messageLovInput that I wanted to dynamically make read-only (similar to enabling/disabling) dependent on a value in another field 'InputRequiredInd'. As such the following tag was implemented:
    <messageLovInput
    model="${bindings.DsvId}"
    id="${bindings.DsvId.path}"
    destination="dataSetValidationRulesLevelOneLov.uix"
    partialRenderMode="multiple"
    partialTargets="_uixState"
    readOnly="${!empty bindings.InputRequiredInd.inputValue ? false : true}"/>
    You'll note in the readOnly element an "EL" expression. Essentially this says if the InputRequiredInd is not empty then return false otherwise true.
    A useful reference:

    I hope this is helpful to someone!

  • Enable/disable an item in a multirecord block

    hello to all
    How is possible Enable/disable an item in a multirecord block?
    set_item_property change all instances of an item in a multi-record block
    SET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY only affects the display
    thanks

    Hi,
    You cannot set the Enabled property in a multi-record block, instead you can change the INSERT_ALLOWED, UPDATE_ALLOWED properties. So that the user can't change the value in the item.

    Manu.

    Similarly other functions. Have someone written the code for this control. I am trying but no desire results.
    Pliz Help,
    Imran

    Hello Imran
    You have to write a code like
    If <condition> the
    set_item_property(button,enable,property<true/false>);
    ELSIF <condition2>
    set_item_property(button,enable,property<true/false>);
    ELSIF <condition3>
    set_item_property(button,enable,property<true/false>);
    ELSE
    set_item_property(button,enable,property<true/false>);
    END IF;

  • Is there a way to disable levels of a cascading dynamic parameter?

    Hello,
    As the title describes, I'd like to see if there's a way of programmatically disabling levels of a cascading dynamic parameter.
    For example, I have a dynamic cascading parameter that has two levels, levelA -> levelB, where based on the value of levelA, levelB choices get filtered. I'd like to programmatically populate a value for levelA and disable it so that the user can't change it.
    Miscellaneous info:
    Language: C#,
    IDE: Visual Studio 2010
    CR for Visual Studio ver: 3.0.2.x
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew,
    First, the version of CR for VS does not make sense, did you mean 13.0.2000.0? If so that is the Assembly version which never changes. The real version s the version of the dll's. Or you can query the GAC for the version this way:
    foreach (Assembly MyVerison in AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies())
        if (MyVerison.FullName.Substring(0, 38) == "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine")
            //File:             C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine\13.0.2000.0__692fbea5521e1304\CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll
            //InternalName:     Crystal Reports
            //OriginalFilename:
            //FileVersion:      13.0.9.1312
            //FileDescription:  Crystal Reports
            //Product:          SBOP Crystal Reports
            //ProductVersion:   13.0.9.1312
            //Debug:            False
            //Patched:          False
            //PreRelease:       False
            //PrivateBuild:     False
            //SpecialBuild:     False
            //Language:         English (United States)
            System.Diagnostics.FileVersionInfo fileVersionInfo = System.Diagnostics.FileVersionInfo.GetVersionInfo(MyVerison.Location);
            txtRuntimeVersion.Text += fileVersionInfo.FileVersion.ToString();
            // check if CrsytalDecisions.Enterprise dll's can be loaded ( Anything but Cortez - managed reporting )
            if (fileVersionInfo.FileVersion.Substring(0, 2) == "13")
                btnRasOpen.Enabled = false;
            CRVer = fileVersionInfo.FileVersion.Substring(0, 2);
            return;
    As for the dynamic parameter you cannot get the top levels of the prompt, only the last field info but there are limitations right now.
    If you look at the Query all you will see is the last prompt field in the SQL.
    Currently we have an Enhancement request to be able to get the field name from the the report to get that last field name. There is no plans to get the field names above though so no option to disable in code.
    What you can do though is change the Dynamic parameter to Static and/or List of Values and then you can change the behaviour in your app by creating your own Parameter Prompt UI and the result should be noted in the WHERE portion of the SQL Statement. And no you cannot modify the SQL statement.
