Record enable light blinking

I'm trying to record two tracks and can't seem to get both enabled at one time. The record enable lights on the track header blink and I can only hear the track selected. What am I doing wrong?

i saw in another thread that you watched the multiple interfaces vid, perhaps the multi-track recording entry would be more appropriate:

I have two input mics with which I wish to simultaneously record into garageband 10. I have selected the "record enable" button in the track header, and I have allocated each audio input to the appropriate audio interface channel. The record enable buttons only flash at me and do not allow for multitrack recording--that is, unless I have selected a single specific track which then allows the track to be armed for recording.

Record Enable Cancels

When I start recording by pressing the record button in the transport bar, some of the record enable buttons on tracks go out only to relight when notes are hit which correspond to those tracks. This would not be a problem except for the fact that there is a delay in hearing the initial note in the track. It happens to software sounds in the computer as well as external MIDI devices being heard on audio tracks. If I change the "selected" track around, the the record enable light goes out on different tracks when the record button is hit in the transport bar. I can relight the record enable lights prior to recording by hitting lots of keys on the keyboard during the metronome count in but I am hoping there is an easier way to fox this.

Understanding Live Mode
Live mode instruments need to stay in Live mode while the audio engine is running
(when Logic Pro is in playback or record mode), because switching a software instrument
track out of Live mode creates a gap (or noise) in the audio stream. Obviously, this is
unacceptable.
Software instruments that are live (ready for playing) require considerably more processing
power than those that are merely playing back existing regions. If selecting a software
instrument track automatically activates Live mode, switching between multiple instrument
tracks would compound the problem, possibly resulting in system overloads.
If you require perfect timing for the first played note, you need to send silent MIDI events
in advance; press the sustain pedal, or make a small move of the pitch bender or
modulation wheel, forexample. This will turn on Livemode.

Is it possible to lock an audio track in "record enabled" mode?

Here's how i write... i set up a drum loop to play for around 20 minutes, then I rec-enable one audio track to record vocals, and then finally, I skip around among hundreds of different midi tracks.
I just hit the down arrow button, and scroll through dozens and dozens of midi tracks. I quickly hit the keyboard to listen to the sounds. If i like a particular sound, i just want to hit record, and instantly record my vocals along with the midi performance.
Unfortunately, when i hit record, the vocal/audio track doesn't record. Right at the moment when i find an inspiring sound and hit record, the vocals just don't record.
I'm forced to scroll miles up the arrange window, to find
the vocal audio track. It's still blinking the red "rec" button, but this is misleading. It's not actually record enabled. I have to hold down shift, hit it once to turn it off, then hit it again to re-activate record function.
Only then can i record the midi AND vocals.
What I want and need is sooooooo simple to offer as a function, yet totally ruinous to my creative flow if it's not possible. (I used to do this easily on the far inferior
Cubase VST 5.1, OS 9)
Is there a way to record enable an audio track, so that,
until I specifically disable the record function, it's
ALWAYS ready to record the second I hit the record button?
Even after I've been hitting the down arrow to audition
various midi channels?

get this to work, I think it would be a great solution, but

I opened a separate mixer, with just the single vocal/audio
track showing.
Then I opened the main mixer, which has all the faders.
If I record-enable a midi track, and then hit the record-enable button on the audio track, the midi track becomes un-enabled. Incredibly frustrating.
The only way I've been able to do it has been to record-enable the vocal track, and then start recording.
Only if Logic is actually recording, can i then record-enable the midi track without deactivating the audio
track.
A big problem is, that when i click to record enable the
vocal track, the arrange window jumps all the way up to the
top, where the audio track is. THen i'm forced to travel
down, to re-find the midi track.
You mentioned in your post that the mixer needs to be
"unlinked". HOw is this done? Will it be possible for
me to click on the record-enable button on the mixer's audio track without the arrange window jumping to that track?

Hp pavillion dv7-3065 laptop will not turn on - led light blinks, ac's light on?

HP Pavillion dv7-3065 with Windows 7.
I fell asleep two days ago, and when I woke up yesterday, my laptop was off. (The battery very well may have died while I was sleeping, or just shut off on its own. I don't know which.) I tried turning it on, but nothing happened... except for the lightning bolt (LED light) blinking three times. No noises inside, blank screen, nothing aside those three blinks.
For the record, I've already tried removing the battery. I've also tried removing the battery, removing the AC cord, and holding in the power button for 30+ seconds. It didn't work.
I've tried removing the battery and running off AC. This still doesn't work. However, the laptop recognizes that it's plugged in; the little light by it is consistantly on. I've also tested my laptop with another AC adapter just to be safe. Nothing.
My laptop has been tested without harddrive/etc, but I'm still at a blank. I don't know what else to do. My boyfriend, who's in school to be an IT, took it into his teacher, who messed around with it, and came up with a few conclusions.
He believes that because the lights are flashing, he's confidant that my motherboard is fine. He said to replace the battery, and if that doesn't work, solder the ...I forgot what exactly, but basically it's the charging connection. I forget what exactly. My apologies there.
However... I feel like replacing the battery would be a waste of money... Because regardless of battery, the laptop should still turn on with the AC cord. My boyfriend intends to bring this up and ask if he can just skip to the other thing anyway, but he doesn't have that class again for a week, and I'm at a loss of what else to do. Aside from that, his teacher says there's a limited number of other things that could be wrong...

I have the same problem! Except I did manage to get mine to turn on. After doing the hold the power down thing. Nothing happened. I did leave the lap top on cause I was irritated and walked away, about an hour later it came on. It let me turn it on and off a few times. Then stopped. Then leaving it sit on stopped working too

No display with Capslock & Sroll lock light blinks

I have HP DV5-1211em pc which is not showing any display at all. Upon powering on all I see Caps lock & Scroll lock light blinking.
I have done all the methods I have seen on youtube guidance etc; but didn't work at all. I took the battery out and kept pressing power button for a minute, then took ram out repeated same, then took the cell out of the motherboard but nothing worked. Its still showing the same blinking problem.
I have read that if you upgrade from Windows Vista to 7 or 8 you may have this problem and a bios upgrade is recommended but since I cant get it worked to update bios I need help just to get is on desktop once, even if that is the only problem.
Just to mention here that all the parts are working properly and does not seem a hardware problem.
Any Suggestions please?

That might in your case but there's been a history of Video failures that isn't attributed to BIOS but Video chipset failures from both AMD/Nvidia that are documented so don't discount this problem on older systems.

If you can't sign in, then you can't troubleshoot and/or pair the keyboard until after that........ so, for that, you will need to borrow someone's USB wired keyboard in order to get signed in and to the Keyboard Bluetooth Preferences.

Yes Clinton I did same, but they were (Huawei customer support) surprised about this problem, They behave like they have no idea about USB 2.0 and 3.0 knowledge. They handsUp that reason I posted my problem in this forum.
So is there any better solution to use any mediator between these USB version handling, Please let me know.

Logic crashes any time I record enable. Also, it won't quit normally. I have force close the application any time I want to quit. What's wrong here?

From the moment I downloaded Logic it would not quit properly. It won't respond to cmd Q or going to the menu to quit the application. Then when I try to simply record enable a track, the whole thing bugs out and crashes, no matter how many times I restart, same result. This is not how $200 software should act. *** Apple?

This is an oddity that happens if you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard.

You're right, Apple's software should not behave this way... however, a little background.
Apple purchased this software at version 5.2 from another company, a highly respected company, it's coast at that time was $999.00, which is what I paid for it, it's professional software. Apple priced it at $499 for several years, when it moved to the app store it was reduced to $199, which is dirt cheap. It's all a matter of perspective.

Sorry it is just not enough info to be able to figure it out.
Do a full factory reset and start over.. that is the best way out of the hole.
Using ethernet is far far superior to using wireless at least for setup.
Using iOS device with airport utility is better than using wireless via a Mac with airport utility if you have MBA or MBPr.. but it is still better to buy a usb or thunderbolt to ethernet dongle so you have actual real connection and not a vapourous one.

Thank you for the information. I did what you said but it is still not working. My apple box works with my wifi so I think the wife was disconnected and I can't figure out where to go to set up the wifi pass word for the apple box. Any hits would be appreciated if not my next step is to ship back the box to apple.
