Record my desktop video recording goes really fast

Ok so i got recordmydesktop to like my sound card by using the wiki but it now acts really weird.
When i record something with sound the video will go more than double the audio speed and finish way before the audio ends.
Also i tried uploading a video to youtube of this happening but something went wrong in the upload and a 45 second video turned into over 2 minutes long and the screen being just green.
So has anyone had this problem and have a fix?
Btw: if it matters im using DWM as a WM

same.i tried rmd and it was a green youtube video.it was tried on linux mint 9 isadora  at the time

  • No Stereo audio recording in HD video recording.

    Hi,
    I have Nokia 701.
It's too bad that there is no true stereo audio recording while HD video recording.
Though in specification it is given that there are two microphones for stereo recording.

I was right there with you. I posted early on in this thread and was working with tech support on the phone. We worked for a few days and it was like I was having to do too much work on my end. Nothing was working and they were so busy. Someone else posted that they took theirs back and it was an easy swap. I had already made an appointment at the apple store as a backup so I decided to drive the 50 miles. It was so easy....the guy really did not care too much about me working with support. He just tried a restore and was able to repeat the issue. Not saying that all stores are like that but I have had very good results with other apple products and getting support at the genius bar. Good luck...but you may be waiting a while. Seems that the hot topic for them is really the "reception" issue.

  • Screencast or desktop video recording software for the mac?

i am coming from a PC but would like to do a couple of recorded "screencasts" of my desktop. basically i want to show someone how to do something.
anyone have any good recommendations for easy to use software that results in a good mac and/or post-to-the-web-easy-format?
i've messed around a little with Jing but my recollection is that this gets posted to your web space and it was not providing a file format that was easy to use. i have also posted to Vimeo with earlier videos but i am wondering if there is anything that will record my desktop and if there is anything to consider in terms of which file format, quality, ability to post to my webpage etc.
thanks for any advice or recommendations. i am on lion and mountain lion.

You can go to the File menu and check the various options to export or share:
I'm sure the formats would be whatever is needed; I don't share any of my content online so I've never used any of these options. If you want control over formats or quality, use export to Quicktime and choose expert settings.

  • IBook not starting, fan going really fast

    Hi everyone.
Yesterday something happened. Everytime I try to switch on my iBook G4, the power goes on, but the screen remains black and the fan starts to go really fast, like never happened before even when it was too hot. Yesterday I managed to hear the startup chime, and even once I managed to switch in on, but it lasted for around 10 minutes, and the the screen went black again.
Now I can only hear a sound, like a click (not the start up chime) and then the fan going fast, as I said, but nothing else happens.
Sorry for my English and thanx in advance for any help. It's much appreciated.
    Regards.

Did you try booting off of Install disc #1 to see if you have video? If you can, it wouldn't hurt to navigate to Disk Utility and verify both permissions and the disk and repair if necessary. This probably won't solve the problem, but it is good practice to do before and after software updates.
If you can boot off of a CD, you could also try running the Apple Hardware Test and check for hardware problems. Very likely there won't be any that show up, but it will give you some assurance that your hardware has no major problems. The AHT won't find everything, but it does test quite a few things.
If you can boot from a CD, then you could consider doing an Archive and Install, as suggested in the article. It would be best to back up your data in advance if you can. If you have access to another Mac, you might be able to do this using Target Disk Mode. A fresh install of the OS will take care of any corrupted software, especially if it was caused by an update.
If reinstalling the OS does not fix the problem, then it is likely a hardware problem. But given what you have said here, it sounds more likely to be software.
    good luck!

  • Macbook pro fan making loud noises and going really fast. Now the fan doesn't work at all and my computer gets extremely hot almost instantly. Is there a way to fix it without having to pay a ton of money to have someone fix it for me?

I've had my Macbook pro for about 3 1/2 years now. It has worked great until recently. A few months ago I noticed that the fan would always run really fast when I was doing simple tasks. After a few weeks/months, the fan was still really fast but it also started to make these loud noises. Now, it only occasionally makes the loud noise if I move my computer after its been stationary for a while. The fan no longer works at all and my computer gets exceptionally hot almost instantly when I turn it on. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to pay a ton of money to have someone fix it for me?

You can try a SMC reset:

  • Recording causes voice to speed up really fast

Hi there just started our captivate e-training application
development task today and encountered a problem in the voice
recording. After the first two IE applications were recorded the
voice speed up to a very fast speed. Seems to happen when we start
    moving the mouse.
We are able to reproduce it but it has stopped our project
dead in its tracks. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

Try adding audio as a step in the editing process, as opposed
to adding *narrative* audio during recording. For one thing, doing
a narrative while mousing through the recording process can be a
bit like patting your head while rubbing your tummy - an exercise
best saved for trick shots ... just my opinon ...
Plus, adding the audio voice-overs to the slides as a part of
the editing process gives you much greater control - including
*do-over* ability that you don't have during recording.
And finally, I realize that a lot of newcomers to the program
really like the marketing hype about saving time by adding
narrative while recording, but let's face it, you said yourself
    that it *
has stopped our project in its tracks*, so it's not really
saving anyone any time is it?
Hope these thoughts are helpful ... best of luck!
    Larry

  • Desktop video recording

Does anyone know of decent software to record an mpeg or something of your desktop? I googled and found a link that provides a process to record to swf with sound but I like to avoid swf if I can.
Basically what I need to do is provide a video demo of a project I've been working on this summer. My last resort is to just point my prof's video camera at the screen.

I tried xvidcaps, byzanz, istanbul, but all of them were very slow. Recordmydesktop works very well for me, it's very well done and well optimized. You should try it. As said on the official website :
recordMyDesktop tries to be as unobstrusive as possible by proccessing only regions of the screen that have changed.

  • Whenever i open a youtube video, firefox goes really slow and often stop working. Any suggestions?

I have installed the plugin extension, but still whenever a youtube video is on firefox is like drop dead.
    Stop working and lag awfully.

There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Could you see whether anything in this article helps: [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]].
You might also consider disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • I am running my canon camera on the EOS utility program for mac, and i was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to start video recording, instead of using the mouse.

I am using EOS utility for MAC to run my canon camera at work. I have a foot switch connected to my macbook that allows me to take snapshots with my foot while i work ( i am a dentist and i have my camera hooked to a microscope). the way i did that is by programming a keyboard shortcut that snaps photos on EOS utility, to the foot switch software.
So my question is: On EOS there is a video recording function, so i was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut or if i can create a keyboard shortcut for the start/stop record function for video recording..

    Hi
How much free space do you have on your boot disk ( Macintosh HD)?
You may also like to add your current OS ;-)

  • Nokia 701 Stereo Video Recording.

As per specification, stereo recording is present in Nokia 701, but i have tested the sound in many videos which I've recorded using earphones, there was no stereo effect. So there is no stereo recording in HD videos?
    Please help.

    I'm just disappointed.
Used media info tool and audio info is:
    Audio ID : 2
    Format : AAC
    Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
    Format profile : LC
    Codec ID : 40
    Duration : 13s 589ms
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 128 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : Front: L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Stream size : 213 KiB (1%)
    Encoded date : UTC 2011-10-05 09:16:20
    Tagged date : UTC 2011-10-05 09:16:20
In specifications it is written that 2 microphones for stereo recording.
I have tested the audio recorded in 720p video recording by playing music from other phone and moving it around Nokia 701 from left to right, and top to bottom from some distance and the result is no stereo recording.
Atleast you should be able recognise movement of sound from left ear to the right and vice versa but no luck.
I don't know where is another microphone but just there is no stereo effect.
I don't know how this phone records the audio using its two microphones (If present) but may be the sound from two microphones are first mixed and then recorded same to the two channels instead of left microphone to the left channel and right to right channel.
Now at present 701 records HD Video plus an audio with mono effect recorded to two channels.

  • (Nokia N9) Is the video recording really that bad?

Hello guys, there's some time that I'm using the Nokia N9 and I just can't believe that the video recording quality is that bad, I came from a Nokia C6-01 and honestly, the C6-01 is much much better. The problem with the N9 is that when you move the camera the video become a mess full of artifacts, the auto-focus and the incredible audio recording become irrelevant when the videos don't make any justice for what you expect from HD videos. It's just sad that this only happens when you are moving the camera, if you stand still, the quality is incredible and the audio quality makes it perfect. I bet that the problem is from the low bitrate from the N9 videos. I'm hopeless but I wonder if there's a mod or anything that can be done to make the videos look better?

The N9 does have an issue on video recording.
When I was still using the Nokia N9, there are some frame lags and video quality is not at its best. Details are good on me but not as good as my Lumia 710 or the Nokia E7.
And yet unfortunately, I can't help you on this one.
If I have helped you in any way, give me a kudos!

  • I am going to Challenge my 3rd Endurance World Record "Unstoppable BMW Challenge" utilizing both the New Ipad and Iphone 4s and I want to ask how much Video recording space is used per minute on both the iphone4s and Ipad2 ?

    Unstoppable BMW Challenge 2012
I dont yet own the Iphone 4s or the New Ipad hence the question. I would also like to ask what Iphone Apps would the community recommend as essential apps for a Herculeun Guinness World Record Challenge with a view to showcasing a video diary and picture diary whilst the challenge is underway.
    Kindly Simon Newbound
BMW Endurance Guinness Champion of the world 2012

Seems like you're just advertising and showing off rather than asking a question, but a 16 or 32 3GB iDevice would do for video recording.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 video recording on Microsd card i...

First off, I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 for about one month now.  I love the screen size and everything.  My picture/video recording to phone memory works fine.  I have recently purchased a Class 10 Sandisk Pixtor 64GB microsd card from Best buy for video/pictures storage due to this device having only 16GB of memory.
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-pixtor-64gb-microsdhc-class-10-memory-card/1299201.p?id=12190475...
Picture taking is fine writing to this card.  However, I noticed that on all video recording mode (720p to 1080p), the video would sometimes skip and lose a few frames here and there.  For example, when i try to record a video of a kid running, the video playback will show the kid run across but would jerk or freeze a bit during his run (almost like the phone is too busy doing other tasks during recording).  Playing the same videos on a computer show the same result which means the video taken were bad to begin with.  My temporary fix is to switch video/picture recording to the phone storage itself but that defeats buying the sd card in the first place.
Anybody else having this issue?  I couldn't find another microsd card to test but i wonder if the phone itself is having a performance issue with sd cards in general.  Should i engage with tech support from Nokia?

It is quite well known that Class10 card are overkill on a mobile phone and in many cases have been proven to actually have worse performance when compared to even Class4 cards.
Class10 cards really only make sense in (high end) DSLR ca,eras where itis a requirement the shots can be written to the card fast. In practical use the class only indicates the card cab sustain a transferrate of X MB/s and with that in mind a Class4 card even will be plenty fast for your mobiel phone.
Due to the fact a Class10 card is basically overspec for the hardware it may even cause timing issues.

  • "Noise" during video recording, normal?

Is it normal to hear a hissing/"noise" sound for lack of a better word during video recording on the ipod touch 4? I could be in a perfectly quiet room and I can still hear it. Is this normal or should I return it to a Apple store for another one? I ordered it online but figure going to the local store would be faster.

It has nothing to do with low light at least not in my case. I'm returning it to Apple, I think it's a bad speaker as I ran the memo app in a quiet room (Didn't say anything) and on playback it still made the sound (A shhhhhhhh sound)
Guess I got a bad one
