Record Working Time on ESS and IT2002

Hello,
I'm trying to configure Record Working Time on ESS.
I input some attendance "hours" and I obtain the message "your data has been saved" on the "Overview of your newly recorded working times"
When I come back on ECC6, there is nothing in IT2002...
For information :
Tcode : CAC1
Data Entry Profile : Without approval procedure
Is there something more to do?
Thanks

HI,
You supply Human Resources (HR) with absence and attendance data and
data on employee remuneration and substitutions by transferring data
records from the time sheet or an external time recording system. The
transferred data is then available for further processing in Time
Management and Payroll. You transfer the data records using the transfer
report RPTEXTPT.
Report RPTEXTPT transfers data from the interface tables PTEX2000,
PTEX2010, PTEX2003GEN, and PTEX2003SPEC to the corresponding infotypes:
Attendances/Absences (2001/2002), Employee Remuneration Info (2010), and
Substitutions (2003).
To ensure that HR is always supplied with current time data, schedule
the transfer report to run daily.

We would like to know, how to remove this error message. We tried through clearing error log but when employee logs back in, it again appears.
And also, when Manager approves time, for the approved data Calendar doesn't get updated and employee don't have details that manager approved or not.

  • ESS: Record working time - employee name and number

    Hi All,
I'd like to display the employee number and name in the Record working time screen.
Please help me with the configuration I need to do in IMG or on the portal side.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rajit
    Points will be awarded.

    Hi Siddharth,
On the General Information page, there's a Related Activity iview which contains a link for Record Working Time.
A manager can select an employee in the Data View and then can click on the Record Working Time link which opens up that emp's time sheet.
In such a case, display of employee number and name is very useful and I'm trying to solve this.
In IMG's "Define Field Selection" -> Data entry section, there are employee number and name fields that I set for the data entry profile. But they are not displayed in the portal.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Thanks,

  • Record working time in ESS window collapsed

    Dear all,
after we implemented EHP6 in our environment we have a strange issue with the Record working time window in ESS portal.
When a user log in to the portal and go the Record working time the record working time window initial state is collapsed. He need to expand the window manually (see the screenshot).
Does anyone of you have / had same issue? Are you aware of any SAP notes we can consider to solve the issue?
Everything is standard , nothing customized.
    Thank you
    Vladimir

This is because end users do personalization in that page. In this case when they logon next time always it will display the based on his personalization in previous logon.
You can clear all personalization's for users in System Administration tab
Clear all personalization for users from System Administration in portal.
    System Administration -> Support
    -> PCD Tools
         -> Personalization Data Cleanup
Here Remove personalization data of all users for all portal objects or specific to user / specific to portal object

  • Difference in Record Working Time in ESS

    Hello,
We are implementing ESS on EP7.0 and when I go into the Record Working Time with one user I see the "Profit Segment" field and not for the other user....I feel it's in the Data entry profile of the users but when I compare the profiles I don't find any difference .....
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Anil,
Did you do IMG step Define Field Selection under Record Working Time?  Select Data Entry Section then the Influencing button, and you'll be able to entry the profile name so that you can hide or unhide specific fields.
    Hope that helps.

  • Show Target hours in Recording Working Time(CATS) ESS version

    Hi All,
I am trying to find out, if I can show the planned target hours on the web side of the Record Working Times component like it is shown in CAT2 as the first entry in the table. Is this possible ? Cna it be done by customizing somehow ?

    Hi Paulo
I think the only way here would be to modify the standard Web Dynpro application directly in a JDI system. Check note 872892 for more info on this.

  • Record Working time in ESS

    Hello,
We are implementing ESS and I have a requirement to introduce the "Copy from previous period" functionality when employees fill the timesheet so if that want to copy the hours from the previous week ...they have a button and on clicking on it ...they see the hours entered last week....Has anybody implemented such a thing...Please help.

    Hi Siddharth,
    I am using HRXSS_CAT_WD_RECORD with IV_ACTION = COPY_FROM_PREVIOUS_PERIOD
to fetch data from the previous week in my custom timesheet.
But does not seem to be returning any value from the previous week
    IV_PERNR = 0000453
    IV_ACTION =  COPY_FROM_PREVIOUS_PERIOD
    IV_BEGDA = 07/11/2010
    IV_ENDDA =  07/17/2010
But its returning TA_TIMESHEETDATA which 8 collumns and 1 row which has value 0.
And I have data for the week 07/04/2010 - 07/10/2010. Is there anything which I am missing.
My requirement is to fetch the data from the previous week.
    Thanks in advance,

  • ESS Record Working Time - How to set up approvals?

    Hello experts,
I've hit a bit of a roadblock and could use some direction.  I have recently implemented the newer ESS_WDA role in our sandbox environment to see what it had all to offer.  Using LPD_CUST to customize the ESS launchpad role, instance = menu, I have successfully implemented the Record Working Time WD application and have it running fine.  Using CAC1 I created two profiles, ESS (without approvals) and Z_ESS_A (with approvals).  Using the ESS profile, a user can enter time into their ESS time sheet, save, and thus time is entered into CATS and their IT2001/2002.
Now, Z_ESS_A is another story.  Some time this year, we'd like all our US administrative personnel to enter time using ESS Recording Working Time (HRESS_A_CATS_1) however, they would need to have all their time approved by their reporting manager (or a backup) before it goes into IT2001/2002.
I'm a bit fuzzy on the process, but I would like the approval to be done by their reporting manager in Manager Self-Service using the Approve Time Sheet application (HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL) and not by click on some link in their UWL.  I assume this is set up by assigning a task in the workflow section under Approval in the data entry profile, but I have no idea what task to assign.  Do we need to create a custom task? Am I on the right path or is there another path I should be pursuing?   Ideally, if the manager is unable to approve the associate's time sheet, we would have a backup enter their MSS and approve time sheets that haven't been approved by the direct manager yet.
I did notice the Approve Working Time section in the IMG.  Is this where I need to set up the approvals?  I noticed a SAP_LINE view, however I read this uses a line manager relationship dictated in OM, however we do not use that relationship (A002/B002).  We simply use the A003 (Manages/Belongs to) relationships, thus the task would identify the chief of the org unit and use that relationship to decide who to send the time sheet approval to.
    Kind regards,
    Garrett Meredith

    Hi Garrett,
System identified the Record working time profile from the value against User Parameter CVR in SU01.
If you maintain ESS against CVR it triggers without approval
If you maintain Z_ESS_A against CVR it triggers Approval process
Some time this year, we'd like all our US administrative personnel to enter time using ESS Recording Working Time (HRESS_A_CATS_1) however, they would need to have all their time approved by their reporting manager (or a backup) before it goes into IT2001/2002.
You need to change the CVR parameter value to Z_ESS_A for that period for all US administrative employees for that duration. Again you need to change it to ESS once that duration is over.
but I would like the approval to be done by their reporting manager in Manager Self-Service using the Approve Time Sheet application (HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL) and not by click on some link in their UWL.
Below tick in CAC1 triggers workitems to UWL, if not only sent to Approve Time sheet application in MSS.
I did notice the Approve Working Time section in the IMG.  Is this where I need to set up the approvals?  I noticed a SAP_LINE view,
SPRO / PM/ ESS WDABP / Working Time/ Record working time/ Approve Working Time
above is the navigation where you configure approval process.
SAP_LINE is also a user parameter for managers in SU01 against CATS_APPR_PROF.
    So Employee SU01 - CVR = ESS or Z_ESS_A
           Manager  SU01 - CATS_APPR_PROF = SAP_LINE or Custom one.
however I read this uses a line manager relationship dictated in OM, however we do not use that relationship (A002/B002).  We simply use the A003 (Manages/Belongs to) relationships, thus the task would identify the chief of the org unit and use that relationship to decide who to send the time sheet approval to.
It doesn't work based on A002/B002 relation, it works based on Chief Relation (A012/B012) to Org.Unit.
Let us say X is the chief for A org.unit, all the positions those belong to A org.unit shown under X as reportee employees, so X can be the approver for A1, A2, A3 and so on.
Hope this give you an understanding.

    Srikanth Naidu

  • Time Constraints on ESS - Record Working Time and Leave Request

    Hi All,
I have configured Time Constraints and their reaction in V_T554Y.
When I record the appropriate combination of Attendances and Absences in back-end, I can see the reactions as specified... However, when I try to do the same in ESS - Recording Working Time and Leave Request, I do not see that Time Constraints taking effect on the front end.
Here is what I have done:
I have two attendance - P001 and P002. P001 is configured to be recorded on Leave Request where as P002 is configured to be recorded via Record Working Time (CATS) link.
I record the attendance P001 in Leave Request and also post that into infotypes. After this, I try to record P002 in the Record Working Time Screen and I still get errors (Errors are from: HRTIM00REC E/207 and LR E/335)
If I try to replicate the same in the back-end in IT20002, then there is no issues.
Can anyone help and let me know how we can implement the same Time constraints reactions on the front-end and the back-end.
    Thanks a bunch
    - Harshal

Note that Time constraints are not valid for Leave request and Working time ie in ESS
    it only comes via PA30
in CATS too, we dont follow much HR related collisions checks these are taken into consideration during CAT6
and in leave request via Rptarqpost
so its not gonna work, Its intended and correct! go for a user exit cats0003 or check cac1 profile customisation

  • ESS - add a new column to Record Working Time table

    Hello all,
My client would like to add a column to the Record Working Time table in ESS. They would like to add a column for Activity Name next to Activity Number. Can anyone tell me where this can be congured? Or would this be something I would need to hard-code in the ess~cat source code?
    Thanks,
    -Kevin

I have figured out the 2 step process needed for this, involving Modifiable and Influencing. So I am able to add new fields. The only issue I am running into now appears to be dependant on the field name.
    I can add CATSD-VORNR
    But I cant add CATSDB-LTXA1
I have tried a few variations and it seems i can add fields from CATSD but not from CATSDB?
Has anyone else seen this or know what steps must be taken to display CATSDB-LTXA1?
    Thanks,
    -Kevin

  • ESS Timesheet - Record Working Time application partialy in german

I initially deployed the ESS BP and the Time Entry -> Record Working Time application was comming completely in english.
Then I changed the JCO references of ess/cat DC to some other backend, still the app was english.
When I changed the JCO reference back again this time the Record Working Time application was half in german langauge.Text on tab strip, all buttons are in german.
I even changed ProjectProperties.wdproperties property masterLanguage="en", earlier this was masterLanguage="de"
Still half the app is in german. I even deployed the standard ess/cat DC again still no luck.
How do I make it english back and what is the reason for random behavior?
    Regards,
    Vishal

Make sure you have no language set up with Jco connection
    it should be blank!
Normally no language should be maintained for the above mentioned JCO's
If you have maintained any language for the JCO's ,kindly put it
    blank.
