Recorded DVD Media extracted on to a website in iWeb

I am the organizer of a live vocal group and we have DVD recordings of us....long ones upwards of 30-60min. I am trying to get this media on to my iweb on a media page. I have figured I'd have to extract it first, so I did that with "Mactheripper" and i have the .vob files and what not but now I'm not too sure what to do with those. I presume there is an easier way to handle this. Any ideas as to how I should put DVD Media (Video) on to iWeb where the original source of the media is one of those small mini-dvds for camcorders?
Thanks!

You do not put a DVD om the web.
First you rip the DVD and then turn them in to managable pieces of movies.
[Handbrake|http://handbrake.fr>, [iSquint|http://www.isquint.org>, [iMovie|http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie> are such applications you need.
Consult other forums for the particulars.
iWeb is the last step.

  • Variation on a theme: recordable DVD media wont load (blank or with data)

I've read through the forums about problems people are having with the CD/DVD drives, but this one seems unique.
    My MacBook will read:
    commercial DVDs and CDs
    Blank recordable CDs
    Recorded data CDs
    But wont read:
    Blank or recorded DVDs.
I've tried a number of different brands, and none of them will be recognized. (The same DVDs I've tried in a friend's identical MacBook and his reads them fine).
I've reset the PRAM and bought a cleaning disc, none of which hand an effect.
I'm assuming the drive is bad. Just thought I'd check here once before taking my much-beloved MacBook in for service.

It's beyond obviously bad, my friend It ***** to hear it, but it's true. Don't waste any more time and money, just get it to Apple so that they can replace it. The more they see people coming back with bad drives, the more likely they'll get their act together and fess up and start taking a more consumer-friendly approach (accepting, not denying, helping, not ignoring), which WILL make them RICHER in the end. Guaranteed. A customer who is shown appreciation, stays a customer, even in tough times. So simple a concept.

  • Dual Layer DVD media help

Does anybody know what DVD +R or -R Dual Layer media is compatible with Macintosh (specifically, Dual 2.5 Ghz G5 running the Final Cut HD Studio.
I tried Fujifilm DVD+R DL and DVD Studio Pro 4 did not recognize the disc when I tried to build/burn the disc. The Apple Store does not sell any Dual Layer DVD media and Best Buy only had the aforementioned media available for sale.
What do the Hollywood studio use for their dual layer media?
    Thanks!

    Hi David,
I authored a dual layer DVD a few months back and had no problems with Memorex DVD+R DL media. They came in 15 disc packs.
I'm in Miami, so I can't say what the Hollywood studios are using for one-offs, but the dual layer DVDs you rent
from BlockBuster or NetFlix aren't recordable DVD media discs. They're DVD-9 discs from a replication facility.
    Cheers and happy authoring,
    Jeff

  • What DVD formats can read iMac recorded DVDs?

    Hello All,
I have a new intel based 20 inch iMac. When I record a video to a DVD with my iMac I'm I safe in assuming that everyone I send it to will be able to view it on their players? Is there a list someone that lists the formats that will read iMac recorded DVDs? Are they universal?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

If you are talking about DVD video format (i.e. using iDVD)...
It's not so much a function of the Mac, or the DVD recorder as much as what media you use. Most recent DVD players should be able to handle just about anything, but some older ones don't handle all formats well. For instance, some may like +R disks, and others may like -R disks. Others may not like RW disks. Some very old players may not properly play any burned media.
If there's one or two particular models you are going to be using to play your disks, visit their company's website and read the specs for that drive. You can usually get user manuals for the older drives. If you can't find any specs, then you will have to experiment with different media, testing them in your target players.

This is a very common problem.  Some are beacuse of the quality of media, some are because of the speed the media is burnt, some are because the drive gets dirty just where DVDs are concerned, and some are because of computer age.  The last problem is common if the machine gets more than 4 years old, the PRAM battery needs replacing, and all sorts of settings start malfunctioning, until lastly the system clock no longer works and it might not boot.  The others, see my FAQ*:

  • Wont burn. Error..."No disc is in the drive. Insert a recordable DVD disc."

Get error message "No disc is in the drive. Insert a recordable DVD disc."
After multiple attempts with "Staples Brand" DVD-R (up to 16x Speed) and DVD-RW (up to 4x Speed) Recordable & Rewritable Disc. I tried every disc in the package (12). None of them will burn? The DVD player still functions. So I don't think it's a hardware problem. Any body got any ideas?

I have burned to "Staples" media in the past (about a year ago).
Staples, and many other 'big box' stores, buy their own brand media from low bidders and so it can come from many sources.
If it was dust, wouldn't that also effect the read ability?
    Not necessarily.
I was leaning towards the "Cheap Media" as the main problem
    So am I.

  • Question on reinstalling DVD media software on a Satellite A100-049

When I first ran the System Restore on my Toshiba laptop it put these two on but I can see no way to reinstall them without restoring the entire drive back to when I first bought it. I still have WinDVD installed but have removed Ulead (I forget the exact name of the DVD Media software) and cannot now re-install it.
Would Toshiba send me a proper installation CD for these?
    Thanks

    Thanks. I was thinking that.
There's nothing wrong with the actual disc as far as I'm aware. There just appears to be no obvious menu when you run it from Windows. It restores perfectly fine. I wasn't sure if Toshiba would send me "normal" CDs for this software. I'm not after anything more than I get anyway.

  • Odd problems with reading DVD media [concluded]

There is an odd problem I've encountered...(I'm not sure if its a bug with Arch Linux or Linux in general).
    Firstly, the details:
    * I've updated the systems (using "extra", "current", and "community" respositories). So its the current one (0.80 "Voodoo"). I'm NOT using "Unstable" respository.
    * I've already added the user to the "optical" and "storage" groups. So there's no problems in relations to permissions.
    * My fstab entries for the CD and DVD drives are default (I didn't touch them)...That is, "iso9660" and "udf" respectively.
    * My desktop environment is KDE 3.5.5...And I have changed the behaviour of the desktop icons such that DVD media, CD media, and USB devices will have an icon pop-up as soon as you plug them in.
    * I have "hal" loaded in the DAEMONS of /etc/rc.conf
    * I'm using 4 different Linux systems with the following DVD burners.
    => Pioneer DVR-108
    => Sony DW-Q120A
    => Hitachi-LG GCC-4240N (DVD-ROM/CD-burner combo)
    * There are three Sempron 2800+ (Socket 754, 1.6Ghz) boxes and the last one is on an IBM R40 ThinkPad, and I know you can't read DVD-R media on that. But it should be able to read DVD+R media without issue.
    * Two of the Semprons are running Arch, as well as the ThinkPad. The final Sempron box is running Ubuntu 6.06.1
    * When I installed K3b I did: pacman -S k3b dvd+rw-tools
    * All the DVD media is Verbatim DataLifePlus ones.
    Here's what I've done...
I've burnt two DVD media (they're just video files from last year's Blender 2006 conference thing, so its legal stuff).
One is a DVD+R and the other is DVD-R media. Both were done on a Windows 2000 Pro SP4 box using Nero 6.6.1.4
    What's the problem?
Well, KDE in the Arch Linux boxes doesn't recognise the media!...There is no DVD icon that automatically pops up on any of the Arch Linux boxes!
When I run dmesg on the Arch boxes, the only relevant info I get is:
ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3
    ISOFS: changing to secondary root
Now if I re-insert these DVD media onto an Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS box...The DVD+R works perfectly! While the DVD-R does not.
When I run dmesg on this box, I get the following:
    [17179654.808000] hdc: cdrom_decode_status: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplet e Error }

If I re-burn the data onto a DVD+RW, Arch and Ubuntu immediately sees it, and KDE (or Gnome in Ubuntu), will have a DVD icon popping up! I can view the video clips without issue!
Now here's the really odd part...
When I load up K3b on either Arch OR Ubuntu, they recognise all DVD media! (As in, they can read the media disc information!)...Tools => DiskInfo
If I click on the PIONEER - DVD-RW DVR-108 on the tree menu on the left side in K3b, (to view the contents of the DVD-R or DVD+R media), it can't read and pops up an error message informing about a read problem. It suggests I try dmesg|tail to see what's wrong.
When I do that, I get...
    # dmesg|tail
grow_buffers: requested out-of-range block 18446744073708569376 for device hdc

grow_buffers: requested out-of-range block 18446744073708569376 for device hdc
    UDF-fs: No partition found (1)
I repeat the same procedure on DVD+RW, and it works perfectly!
Should I use another burning application instead of Nero on the Windows box?
Could it be the way I burn things?
(Some DVD+R and DVD-R are burnt with multisession while others aren't.)
Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
What are your "workarounds" or fixes?

    It *should* work...But they don't.
    I tried this...
    mount -t auto /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
    I get this...
mount: block device /dev/dvd is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/dvd,
    missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so
    I then do dmesg|tail
grow_buffers: requested out-of-range block 18446744073708569376 for device hdc
    UDF-fs: No partition found (1)
    If I try this...
    mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
    I get this...
mount: block device /dev/dvd is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/dvd,
    missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so
    I then do dmesg|tail
    Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
If I stick in a DVD-R that is burnt in one go without multisession, I get this in the dmesg
UDF-fs: Partition marked readonly; forcing readonly mount
    UDF-fs INFO UDF 0.9.8.1 (2004/29/09) Mounting volume 'SW', timestamp 2006/11/07 19:37 (1000)
It reads this disc perfectly and KDE pops up a DVD icon.
I'm scratching my head as I'm not sure what is the problem.
Could it be hal or the way the DVD media was formatted?

  • Is it possible to Extract the Data from Website?

    Dear Experts,
Is it possible to Extract the Data from Website and Upload it in the SAP Table?.It is very Urgent. Please help me.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Friend,
Generaly if it is one time activity you can do it manually by copy paste in excel.
But if it is weekly or monthly activity then you have to ask website provide to provide data in excel or CSV file and upload it into SAP.
I have a situtation like this, and they (Rapaport price) provide it in CSV format with defined columns.
So it is better to raise the issue to website provider.

  • Trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit - setup.exe fails due to msxml3.dll error PDApp message [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154

If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
    12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
    Any other ideas?

  • DVR620 incorrect aspect ratio when recording DVD or VHS

I have a DVR620KU connected to a Sony Digital LCD Bravia TV, Sony HT-CT100 Home Theater system and a Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8300HDC cable box.  I am using HDMI cables except for the connection from the "out" on cable box to the "in" on the DVR620.   When recording from a broadcast program or DVR'd(cable box) program, the picture on the TV while recording, and the DVD or VHS recording when played back, have letterbox like bars top and bottom and the aspect ratio for the picture is stretched.  I have tried eliminating the Home Theater system, but that doesn't help.  Other than that, things work as they are supposed to, including viewing a commercially recorded DVD.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It does mean that the DVR620 is not the problem.
I don't have the same cable box as yours. Mine is an Explorer 4250HDC. Even if they were same, however, I believe different cable systems will handle things differently.
I'm on Time-Warner Cable in central NC. I have that big universal remote model URSU-8800L-TWR.
When I press SETTINGS, I get the Settings menu. On the bottom of the screen is Quick Settings. If I press right arrow several times, I get to High Definition. The choices are AutoHD, Picture Size, Aspect Ratio, and Output Resolution. The choices for AutoHD are on/off. I'm using on.  Picture Size are Zoom, Normal, and Stretch. I am using Normal. Aspect Ratio choices are 4x3 and 16x9. I am using 4x3. Output resolution should probably be 480i for recording to the DVR620. Note that on the NBC channel currently there is letterboxing on the top and bottom. There is no distortion or stretching. I don't see a way to avoid the letterboxing.
Part of the problem with making these changes is that they will affect all output from the cable box, so your HD signal to your TV might not be as good.

  • PROBLEM RECORDING DVD

    HELLO:
After installing SnowLeopard, this is the first time I am doing an Idvd project and recording it, I am not sure if my problem is related to the OS upgrade.
I do my project as usual and record it and the result is that I get a DVD with Video_Ts and Audio_TS files instead of the normal movies I used to get.
Once the files for the project are loaded I click on "RECORD BUTTON" the one is round divided in yellow and black pieces. I have also tried by selecting "record dvd "...in FILE, and there I have seen that there is an option to save the projecto as video_TS but I have never clicked ont that. If I press on Play on Idvd , I can see the movie the way I want it , the problem is that it does get recordee in the same way.
    Any help with this?
    Thanks

Sorry , forget all about it, it was the dvd player in my Imac, I never usu it and I thought play was automatic .
    Thanks anyway to all
