Recorded messages when an 0844 message rings me

We keep getting recorded messages from 0844 numbers, they start by saying that 'This is an important message' but you can't speak to anyone, if I hang up the message keeps going and I can't ring out for some minutes until it finishes.
We are registered with the TPS service which can't stop these calls, I've tried Googling the numbers and it comes up with the UPS Parcel Tracking site which says that it's not one of their parcels. Another Google suggestion was that it was a BT number! Yet another solution was a firm called Credit Style Solutions.
When my husband spoke to BT earlier on they said that it was a credit rating agency and they couldn't do anything about it.
These calls are getting quite distressing, we have no wish to ring the number back as we don't know just what we would be getting ourselves into, and anyway they seem to use different numbers, also 0844 numbers are expensive to call, if it is a debt collection agency surely they would want to speak to us rather than use a recorded message.
Has anyone any suggestions for stopping these unwanted calls with incurring charges.

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
If I may be frank here based on your last paragraph - harrasment by the telephone may be a criminal offence which you could report to the police. The problem being the different calling numbers as you've said.
The people ringing may well have the wrong number, however calling numbers on the TPS from the UK is against the law unless you have an "active" ongoing business with the caller.
Do any of these calls say "PPI", or payment protection etc ?
Keep a note of the exact time and day these calls are received, as well as the telephine number. And also the message relayed each time.
0844 calls aren't actually that expensive to ring, however I suggest you don't of course.
Informing the TPS is also a route to take.

There is no setting for that on the phone. Some carriers provide ringback tones, which play instead of the caller hearing a ring. But I am not aware of an app that would play a message prior to you picking up the phone. The amount of time before you pick up is not a constant, and if it lasts too long, then the call would go to voicemail.

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem with the DME File download. This problem happened all of sudden in our production system since last month and it was never before. Our system landscape has also not been changed but as per our basis consultant he has added two-three more new application server to the Production client. Even we do not have this problem in our testing clients.
Please note that we have been using the output medium '1' from the day one and thus the system has been generating the DME in 'File System' which we download on the desktop and upload the same to the bank online. After running the payment run when we trying to download the DME File, the system gives the error "There is no source data for this data record, Message FZ205".
I tried to fix this issue through many ways but not able to. So can you please let me know the reason of this error and solution to fix this.

Play pre-recorded message

Hello,
I'm trying to set up a number such that when a caller calls the number, a pre-recorded message gets played. The caller will not be able to leave a message/voicemail on this number though. Here are the steps:
1. Caller dials number
2. Caller listens to pre-recorded message
3. Caller hangs up the phone
Is the above doable with Skype? If so, how?

Applciation Monitor (RZ20) not recording messages

Dear SRM 7 Experts,
We are implementing SRM 7 with ECC EHP 4. We transfer Preqs from ECC to SRM via PI and Central Contracts from SRM to ECC via PI. The problem we have is that the Aplplciation Monitor in SRM 7 (RZ20) is not recording any interface errors when replication of Preqs or Central Contracts fails. What are we missing? Is there a background job that we need to run to make RZ20 record messages?

you can download your software now and use the trial (which is the same as the full product except it's limited to 30 days use). when you get your serial number you can convert your trial to the full non-time limited version by clicking help>sign in (or activate) so there's no need to uninstall, reinstall etc.

Same issue here. This is really disappointing. I used to look forward to the milestone messages after each run, especially when I was surprised by a celebrity voice. Now, it's the same thing every single time, "Congratulations on another 250 miles. Way to go!" or something along those lines. I was proud of the 250 mile mark, but please...I don't want to hear it every time!
I hope there's some movement on this issue.

Hello,
I am looking at one of our numbers and would like to have the ability to set a recorded message to play when the number is called. Then at the end of the recorded message to hand up.
Is there a way to do this from Call Manager 7? Or will I have to push it through to UCCX7?

If you just need a message to be played then you could potentially do this via voicemail as well. If you have Unity or Unity Connection, you could configure a call handler (does not require a license) or mailbox for the DN and call forward all to VM. Record the appropriate greeting and set the after greeting action to hang up. When you do this, the call will be forwarded to VM where the greeting is played and then Unity/Unity Connection will immediately disconnect after the greeting.
You won't be able to do this natively with CUCM. IMO, this option is probably the easiest.

We have a network which consists of CUCM, UCCX, AQM, CUC. During after hours, if someone calls, the IVR will ask to press * to record a message. But from where shall we listen to these recorded messages?

That wouldn't be enough information to answer your question.
Are you an administrator of the phone system or a supervisor?
All of those products are capable of recording a phone call, but since you mentioned the IVR, it's like narrowed down to UCCX and/or AQM.
UCCX is playing the IVR for sure, and cannot record the call in the IVR, only once it lands on the Agent, which really just leaves AQM. But I'm guessing here, based on limited information.
If you also agree that it's AQM that is doing the recordings, which I'm not even positive it can record a call at the IVR level, then you would need to access the web interface for AQM to listen to the recordings.
If you post your IVR script from UCCX, we could see what is happening after the user presses *. Such as sending an HTTP POST to AQM or the like.

Recorded message from Verizon

Hi folks,
I received a recorded message the instructed me to go to vzw290.com, or something like that to redeem something. I wasn't given the option to re-listen to the message, and I wasn't prepared to write anything down. I went to my account, and I don't see anything that leads me to believe I have a refund coming or anything like that. Have any of you experienced this? Could it be some kind of scam or something?

Recording stops when headphones are unplugged

I'm the FOH guy at my church, and I typically record the stereo output from the console for archival purposes. I'm using Audition CS6 on my Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.5.
I'm recording the stereo track in edit (waveform) mode with headphones plugged into the MBP's built-in headphone port to monitor the recording. When I unplug my headphones, the recording automatically stops.
A quick check of the preferences didn't show me anything, so I'm wondering if anybody else knows of a solution to this?

My Lenovo laptop would do the same...it appears to send a message that the audio devices have changed when the computer switches from speaker to headphone or back.
One cure I know (but which might not be popular) is to forget using the rubbish in-built sound card in your Mac or PC and get an external USB (or Firewire or Thunderbold but USB is cheapest) audio interface. Even the cheapest, nastiest external interface will sound tons better than the built in and also eliminate sillyness like this.
That said, I just tried something on my built in Realtek sound destroyer and may have a suggestion. When I plug or unplug the headphones, I get a warning saying that the list of sound devices has changed and do I want to re-set my preferences. There's a tick box on that that says "Don't show me this message again" and, after ticking the next trial recording kept going as I plugged and unplugged my headphones multiple times.
I have no idea if this would help on other computer/soundcard combinations (and have even less idea about Macs) but, if you see that message, it's worth a try.

After updating to iOS6, I lost all sound for apps like YouTube, Netflix, games, and even notifications. The only time sound worked was during a phone call or when the head set was plugged in.
I did a full back up and restore- sound restored but only for a day before the problem returned.
Called Apple Support and was advised to do another restore, but this time restore it as NEW first, then do the restore from back up.
Seemed to do the trick.
Here are the instructions of what I was given- hopefully this will help you too:

Once you back up your device you will want to restore it.
You will need to have iTunes open on your computer screen.
Please turn your iPhone off.
Press and hold the Home Button.
Continue to hold the Home Button as you plug you iPhone in to the usb cable.
You will want to continue to hold the Home button until you get a screen with the message "device found in recovery mode".
Please follow the prompts and restore device as NEW.
once the restore is done you will have to set up the device and test the sound.
If it works you will then need to restore the device from the back up to restore your user settings.
