Recording & Adding markers

I need to switch from Peak 4 to either Logic Pro or Express. The best feature on Peak is adding markers while I'm recording an audio book. The markers are embedded in the recording so when I edit and delete a section the markers move with the time so all my markers are still where they need to be... Does Logic Pro or Express offer adding markers while you record and embed them into the track?

Not that I know of.
Marker support in LE7 is pretty poor to be honest. When you've made them they can't really do a lot.

Hey everyone, I was hoping to find a way to add markers to my RED footage without having to transcode it during ingestion. All my footage is kept on a separate drive from my computer. Two separate computers can pull from this drive so I'd love to avoid the transcode process to save me some time and allow me to edit everything RAW. Anyone have a work around to this process they know about?

If you are using Prelude 2.1 or later it supports logging directly to RED media.
What version are you using and what does Prelude show you that is preventing you from adding markers?

Table associated with ODS that gives number of records added

I am looking for a db table that has information similar to that in the 'Request' tab of ODS Manage. Most importantly I am looking for the number of records added for a given request.

Hi Deepthi,
Refer the RSMONFACT table with the ODS's technical name. The field REQ_INSERT_SUM would give the no. of records added. The field IC_ID would take both cube and ODS name.

Records transferred & records added?

Hello,
what is the difference between records transferred and records added? why is there always a difference between the two.
when i check the contents of the ods object it says records transferred :23,000 and records added:44. Does it mean the ods has been filled with 23,000 or 44 data records?

Records transferred: The # of records coming from the source system.
Records Added: The # od records finally gets updated into data target. The records added could be less or more than records transferred because of the Overwrite/Addition property of key figures, various logics written in transformations.

Adding Markers with the * key

Hello All,
In the past I was able to add a marker to a layer in real time with the * key on the numeric key pad. Today when I was trying to do it, everytime I hit the * key the composition stopped and no marker was added. Only when the comp was in stop mode would a marker add onto the layer.
What am I doing wrong.
The only thing that I know has changed is that I recently up graded my operating system to Mac OS 10.6.5

Hello again Dave, I can add markers to a layer when only the audio is playing (by pressing . on the key pad) and the play head is moving I could do this with the Open gL on or off). The markers show up after once it is stopped---- but I cannot add marker when the video is playing. I may have been confused to think that in the past I was adding markers while the video was playing.
In any event it would be nice to be able to add markers while the video is playing.
Can you add markers to the layer or the time ruler while the video is Playing?

Records Transferred / Records Added discrepency

Hi Gurus,
I am working in BW 2.0 and did a dataload from R/3 --> ODS --> InfoCube.
In R/3 --> ODS dataload, my result is as follows...
Records Transferred: 2243
Records Added: 2243
In ODS --> InfoCube dataload, my result is as follows...
Records Transferred: 2243
Records Added: 110
Why this discrepency? What happened to the rest of the records? Does this affect my Reporting?

Hi SD,
Ideally it should not affect the reporting. This is what we expect in Data Warehouse. These records are getting aggregated in the cube. If you observe such scenario for masters or ODS (In most of the cases), records got overwritten.
Just do the reconciliation to check whether your KF values are matching or not. If they are matching then there should not be any reason to worry.

First time when i add reords, a blank record is added automatically ,how to prevent it,
Also when i try to add invalid data, system throws error , field becomes display only.

Hi Tarun,
Go to the layout and increase the size of the Screen. or at the screen attributes change the length and width values.
You know that initially the screen occupies default size only.
Hope this would serve your purpose.

Zero records added after dataload from texttable of 1 infoobject to another

Hello,
We are working on BI 7.0 (2004S) but we still use BW 3.5 data flow.
We have a requirement to load text data from one infoobject (0material) to another infoobject (0rt_confmat). The actual requirement was - Text table of 0material (/BI0/TMATERIAL) should be added to info-object 0RT_CONFMAT text table.)
0rt_confmat is a navigational attribute of 0material.
I did the following steps to load this data using 2 methods. The data loads using both these methods are successful but zero records are added to the text table of 0rt_confmat.
Method 1 :
1. Text table of 0material (/BI0/TMATERIAL) cannot be added directly to info-object 0RT_CONFMAT text table.
So a datasource ZTXTMATERIAL was created with text table /BI0/TMATERIAL.
2. Infosource, transfer rules and update rules were created. Changes were made to
the info-object 0RT_CONFMAT to include its own text table according to the specifications given.
Method 2:
1. created an export datasource for 0material and did the necessary steps such as replicating data source, creating infosource, update rules and transfer rules and infopackage.
The problem is that the number of transferred records is 16089 but 0 records are added to the text table of 0RT_CONFMAT.

I have searched sdn and sap notes but was unable to find a solution for this issue.
Is it not possible to load data from the text table of a characteristic infoobject to the text table of its navigational attribute ?
Please suggest a solution for this issue.

Now I was to suggest the second approach:
1. What have you set into the transfer structure, did you map 0rt_confmat with 0rd_confmat? - I mapped it with 0material
2. Do you see text elements in the transfer structure? -yes the text elements exist in the transfer structure
3. As 0rt_confmat is an attribute of 0material, there is a possibility that for multiple material you may have same 0rt_confmat. In that case, your load may fail saying duplicate records. - The data load is successful, but records are not added to the target.
4. What is the data type for 0rf_confmat and 0material in your system? - Both are character strings
On what basis are you loading the text from 0material to 0rt_confmat. -the key field 0material is mapped to 0rt_confmat
Your problem seems to be the update rules / transfer rules from 0MATERIAL text table to 0RT_CONFMAT, that's why in your second method you have transfered values, but none were added.
Remember that you have to have a key for 0RT_CONFMAT and the text for that key mapped through transfer rules, and I beleive that 0MATERIAL text table doesn't have the key for 0RT_CONFMAT, but has the key for 0MATERIAL. If you want both keys to be the same, then in your transfer rules map 0MATERIAL to 0RT_CONFMAT, and the text from 0MATERIAL to the text for 0RT_CONFMAT.
Is that what you've done? - Yes, in the update rules 0material is mapped to 0rt_confmat and the text from 0material is mapped to text from 0rt_confmat. After reading your reply I mapped 0MATERIAL to 0RT_CONFMAT it in the transfer rules as well, but still zero records are added.
The data load is successful using both methods , but records are not getting added.
Can you chk in RSA3 if the data is extracted for the datasoruce ZTXTMATERIAL?? - Yes, data gets extracted.
ALso while you loaded the data, did you get the data in the PSA? - Yes data is seen in the PSA.
Please suggest how I can proceed now.

Adding markers for tracks in a mix?

i've recorded a 65 min mix and i want to put markers on each song so it's not just one big long mix. i could only find info for putting markers on podcasts but i'm pretty sure that what i want to do is possible.
can anyone help me out?

If you export your mix as an AIFF, there's no way to set markers because AIFF doesn't support markers. But why not export it as a "podcast" - the result is an AAC file, and you can add markers.
AAC is pretty similar to MP3 in terms of compression rate and quality loss (set a high quality in GB's prefs). You might want to avoid turning the AAC file into an MP3, because combining two compression methods is never a good idea in terms of quality.

Way to send records added to Z table to Transport ?

Hi
The functional personnel add records to Z table with SE16 using 'Create Entries' button; then they consult the records, select the records, go to 'Table Entry' menu and 'Transport Entries' option and put the records in a Transport Number for send it to other client.
But they are afraid to forget select some added record when selecting them to put in transport; so my task is investigate if is there a way to put added records automatically in transport without need to select them.
That is: Is there any way to make SE16 automatically ask for a transport number when we are creating records using 'Create Entries' button ??
For example, when we select 'Save' after create some record(s), is it possible make to SE16 ask for a transport number ??
I don't know if there is any attribute that we can set to Z table to make SE16 behaves in this way.

What does that FM makes ?? does it calls to SE16 ??
And value table name goes in 'View Name' parameter; then i leave others empty ? And the tables parameters ?
Tha is because i called this FM directly with SE37 to see its behavior but ti sends an error 'Transport is nos possible for the specified data'.

Requery Drop Down after new record added

Hi,
I have a form built with ADDT. There is a dropdown box tied to the buyers table (ID, Name) and a button to add new buyers. The buyers table has full contact info in it so I can't use the editable drop down. I need to be able to requery the drop down box after the user clicks the add buyer button, which opens a window with the add buyer form, so that it checks the table again and shows the new buyer in the drop down list.
At the moment I have it all working except that when the user adds a new buyer they have to refresh the page, losing any data already entered, in order to see the newly entered data in the drop down. Is there a way to requery the drop down after a new record has been entered or when the user clicks the submit button of the add buyer form? Or, maybe requery when the user clicks on the control again after entering the new buyer?

Sorry, I've been out for a few days. I ended up solving the problem by adding a preform search form to search for the buyers in the table before hitting the form. If the buyer isn't there it's added before going to the form. Works for me.
I do have another question about a javascript I've been trying to get working on the same form. It converts numbers in one field to words in another (http://javascript.about.com/library/bltoword.htm) and looks fairly simple, but I think the way ADDT creates the fields names I can't figure out how to make it work. I was able to get it to work on a simple html form, but not the ADDT form. Here's some code with the two fields and the button that calls the javascript. Below that is the call in the head section. The link is also there, but I don't need to post it.
I know this can work but I really could use some help.

Hi, i am enhancing 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF
as i added to the cube 0MAT_PLANT.
In order to get the value i update the UPDR (3.x)
with formula: RIGHT( 11, 0Material )
which is correct.
So far is fine.
The UPDR get activated.
And if i load the cube gets fine.
But i face an issue when transporting it to QAS as, despite the Transport going fine and the UPDR being fine, when i load data using BX or BF it does not add records.
I already set up all necessary stuff in RC, MCNB, LBW, OLI1Bw...
I tested it with and without such little enhancement and without enhancement works perfect.
With enhancement described here does not add records.
Did any face a similar situation ?

Though here is the case:
alright.
is all a bit weird.
The scenario is as follows. having a cube copy
from 0IC_C03 fed from 2LIS_03_Bx and 2LIS_03_BF.
I enhanced the cube with 0DISMM and 0MAT_PLANT
on UPDR from 2LIS_03_BX I included
0DISMM is updated with a small rotine
0MAT_PLANt updated with brief formula
I saved + activated.
Was working on DEV.
But once transported to QAS all was fine (activated and so on).
All preliminary steps were done on ECC side (tnx BF11,... LBWG, then mCNB,load...)
But when loading data was transfering records but not adding them
I went through all the custo on R3 side.
Loaded and delted several times from cube and loaded again.
I finally tried to undo the changes in DEV thus leaving the flow to its original status.
Then loading again -in DEV.
All went fine but in DEV even with the changes all was fine.
I decided to move the flow that put it to its original status to QAS.
Loaded BX => went fine
added records to cube.
So basically i removed the changes (a formula plus a little routine)
Transported to QAS.
Then added the changes again.
Transported including changes to QAS.
All is working fine now.
Just lost few days going through the entire pieces Stocks is entailed of.
Hope this weird solution comes to someone´s mind if in a similar scenario as a last resort.

Bulk Loading vs Ingest Record Adding(Updating)

We are integrating Oracle Endeca Server with our application. We already have set of interfaces which extracts record definitions and records from our database.
I created necessary classes to create record definitions in Oracle Endeca DataSource, but I have difficulties with selection of right approach with loading of records into DataSource. I wonder that is better to use Ingest or Bulk Loading.
We have constantly changing data in our application and time to time we had to update existing records in DataRecords. From point of view of our API there is no difference between adding new records and updating existing records. As I learned from documentation Oracle Endeca Server performs updating multivalued properties by adding new data to them and by ignoring changes in single-valued properties. In our case we need a replacement existing values. I figured out that I will need to use addAssignments and deleteRecords in ingestRecords operation. In this case existing record will be deleted and new will be created. However what happens if record is not exist? I guess deleteRecords will fail, but will engine still execute addAssignments?
Considering usage of Bulk Loading I also have some questions.
What Bulk Loading will do if record it's trying to insert is already exist?
If I have attribute definition of type boolean could I use
// entryCur.getKey() is String
// entryCur.getValue() is String
assignmentBuilder.setName(entryCur.getKey()).setDataType(Data.Assignment.DataType.STRING).setStringValue(entryCur.getValue()) instead of setting to BOOLEAN?
I guess Builder.set<Type>Value allows to set up multivalued attributes with multi calls?

Hi Eugene,
I am an Endeca developer working on ingest. The situation you describe is perfectly suited by bulk ingest; it is exactly this use pattern that bulk ingest was designed for. If the record to put duplicates the spec of an already-existing record, the record currently in the data store is replaced by the incoming record.
If you still wish to use the data ingest web service (DIWS), this is still an option. The pattern you describe is correct. If you attempt to delete the record that does not exist, Endeca Server will do nothing; again, this is the use case it is designed for.

Records added into the DB when deleting row in List

I have a list with an add button at the bottom. Every entry has a delete button on the left.
Whenever I create new entries and then delete some rows, the newly created entries are automatically saved.
How can I solve this? Deleting calls getOADBTransaction.commit(), is there a way to isolate deleting form saving?

Hi,
When do some operations on Records from OAF page it maintains a list of state of entity, and on the basis of this state it performs the DML operations like insert/Update and Delete.
Your case is no exception if you are inserting some records OAF will mark these for insertion, deleted records will marked for deletion and on commit data will be posted to DB accordingly.
Still if you don't want to save the data, explictly change the VO Row status as Initialize(same as we do while inserting new record STSTUS_INITIALIZED) then OAF will not consider this row for insertion.

MX Records added to business catalyst but email not working since site was taken offline (subsequently put back online) by registrar.

We've been experiencing some issues sending and receiving email since 1and1 took our domain name down. We've now got the site back live (check devonshiremarkets.com) but emails are still not being received. I have been informed the MX records have not been propagated for the domain name.
Check MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox and search the domain devonshiremarkets.com. You should see no MX records are associated with the domain name.
Under the business catalyst management section the MX records have been correctly assigned to google apps MX records as follows.
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (Priority 1, TTL 3600)
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (Priority 5, TTL 3600)
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM (Priority 5, TTL 3600)

Is there any reason why our email is still down and what do we have to do to get it fixed?
