Recording and burning voice from ipod 2

Is it possible to burn onto CD a 1hour voice recording recorded via your ipod2 directly to a USB external hardrive CD burner attached to your ipod via USB, without having to use itunes or be online (wifi).

  • Transfer my music and foto's from Ipod to computer

My Ipod Photo was synchronised with a laptop. This one crashed and now I want to put the music and photo's to my new laptop.
Nowhere can I find a way to do so.
    Who can help me?
    regards
    Anjo

First of all try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
CopyPod Photo can be used for your photos, although if you loaded them to your iPod as full resolution photos, you should be able to retrieve them from your iPod by enabling disk use and dragging them out of the photo folder on the iPod. I've never actually tried this though.

  • Is it better to export an iMovie project as QT and use Toast to burn a DVD for general use or to export to iDVD and burn VD from there?  Why?

Is it better to export an iMovie project as QT and use Toast to burn a DVD for general use -  or to export iMovie project to iDVD and burn DVD from there?  Why?

Toast probably maintains better quality if you are just doing simple conversion direct from your camera straight into Toast and then to DVD. There's a lot less transcoding steps and loss of quality in that direct to DVD disk creation in Toast. However, having said that,...There's good arguments probably for both.
What I've seen promoted most often (as most people don't have Toast or aren't motivated to buy it) is to Share to Media Browser (choose the Large size option) and then from inside iDVD click the Media Button and the Movies button to find the project under the iMovie star icon in the Media Browser window. Drag that project into your iDVD project and burn the disk.

Just downgraded back to iTunes 10.7 and copied music from ipod classic to itunes using houdini, but how do i copy the playlists from the ipod when itunes says that my ipod has been synced to another itunes library?

Thank you again for all of your help!! I really appreciate it!
I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.
Thank you for letting me know about my contacts! How do I know if I have the contacts app?
Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(
How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.
    Sync Contacts:
Your contacts are being synced with you iPhone over the air from iCloud. Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on you iPhone

  • Burn CD from iPod playlist?

I'm listening to some songs I ripped from my purchased CDs on my work PC - the library file these tracks were initially added from is on my home PC. Along the way, I made a playlist in iTunes and saved this playlist on my iPod for later listening. Since I listen to music in my car, I'd also like to burn the files in that playlist to a CD, however since I'm using song files stored on my iPod it's not letting me burn them to CD, even though they are DRM-free MP3 files I ripped from my own CDs.
Is there a way to work around the asinine "copy guard" BS that's part of iTunes so I can use MY music the way I want? Thanks in advance!

So... I can't burn to a CD from my iPod - I'll need to copy the files to my PC to do that.
Oh, wait... whoops, I forgot - I can't even COPY the files from my iPod to the second PC from that iPOd without a third-party application...
That sounds like a DRM issue to me, seeing as how it's in no way a TECHNICAL issue. it's an artificial limitation imposed on my file usage by the software. Grrr.
But I see what you're saying - without the files being on the PC that created the initial Library file (my home PC), I cannot burn a CD. At least I'll be able to take the Playlist I made and saved on my iPod and use it as the burn list on my home PC, correct?
Thanks for the Product Feedback link - not thatit will do me any good I assume, but at least I'll go on record as being dis-satisfied with the service. If enough people complain maybe things will change. Appreciate it!

  • Burn playlist from ipod nano  urgent

    ipod nano too full
need to take a few playlist off ipod
they will not drag to library
    or other playlist
i tried to burn them to cd
    but it wont highlight
i tryed new playlist but songs wont drag over

You would have to move the songs onto your computer from your iPod first and then burn them from your computer. iTunes cannot burn the songs if they are only on the iPod.
You can use free software such as this to move the music from iPod to computer...

  • How do I burn CD from iPod?

I keep all of my music on my iPod, and none in my Library on my computer's hard drive, to conserve space. How do I burn a CD using tracks on my iPod?

You can't. You'll have to transfer them back to your computer and burn from there.

  • Burning tracks from iPod Playlist

    Hi all,
The time has come to get my 50Gb of music off my powerbook and keep my library entirely on my iPod Photo 60Gb.
Before I make the leap I wanted to check if it's still possible to burn cds of playlists stored on your iPod? I can remember I used to be able to do this under older versions of iTunes but I cant find any mention of this feature now.
Can anyone shed any light? Any help greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Drew

You can't burn directly from your iPod. If the playlists are in iTunes you can burn them from there

  • Record and sample libraries from same HD?

My question is would it be okay if I for example used one large external hard drive and made 2 partitions - one partition for recording into logic and the other for streaming sample libraries. Is this a no no? Or, should I have 2 external hd's - one dedicated to logic recording and one for sample libraries?
I would like to just get one large hd if possible - so I won't have to lug around 2
    Cheers

    Hi
Generally, it is not a good idea to have samples streaming from the same drive as the audio (project) material... (though it would depend on the nature of the project (predominantly samples or predominantly audio files).
With 'standard' rotating HD's rather than SSD's, the drive would end up being slower because it was trying to find data from several places at the same time. Partitioning the drive would not help in this sort of situation either since the drive head would have to try to read/write to separate partitions at the same time.
With SSD's, the read/write speeds are so much faster that for most purposes one drive would suffice (provided that the external drive to Mac connection was fast enough to cope (Thunderbolt). No need to partition. You *might* get away with a FW800 connection, but you would not be getting the best from the SSD.
You run into similar issues with external (rotating) RAID drives... the overall speed depends on the controllers/connection bus (FW800 vs USB 3 vs Thunderbolt etc)  as well as the speed of the drives themselves.

  • Trouble authorizing computer in iTunes and transferring apps from iPod

Every time I select "Transfer Purchases from iPod" from the File menu, it tells me I can't because my MacBook isn't authorized for the iTunes store. I only have one other computer authorized - my desktop - and I've deauthorized and reauthorized the laptop several times, supposedly successfully, but I still can't transfer my apps from the iPod.
I know that I can re-download apps to the laptop that I've previously purchased on the desktop or the iPod, but not only would that take a fair bit of time that I'd rather not spend (I have many pages of apps), but the couple times that I've tried it, I don't get the dialog box (offering to let me re-download for free the same apps that I've already bought) that it shows in the thread I found about the procedure.
So what do I do now?
    TIA.

  • Recording and Sending voice through a modem

    hello there,
i am using JavaTM Communication API to send and receive voice though my serial modem. Firstly, it easily receives voice but i couldnot record it. Secondly, i cannot tranmit my voice to a telephone through my modem.
    Can anybody help me.
    thanks in advance
    Sarad Thapa

    Well, what have you tried?
Exactly what problem are you having recording voices? Do you have any working code? Is it returning an error message or throwing an exception? Are you certain that it's receiving the right input?
Exactly what problem are you having sending your voice? Is the phone ringing at their end? Do they hear beeps, whistles, or just plain silence when they pick up the phone? Or alternatively, are you certain that your code is sending your voice to the right modem device? Is it throwing an error message?
What you are doing right now is going to a car mechanic and saying "my car doesn't work" but you can't specify what kind of car or what's not working. Very fustrating to the mechanic.

  • Crackling and Burning Smell from Home Hub 5

I have had a crackling noise and burning smell come from my Home Hub 5, as a pre-caution I've turned it off.  But depsite repeated attempts to get a replacement from BT no-one on the phone or via the live chat system seems to understand!
Any chance on getting help to get a replacement please?

You will need to phone them back and tell them what the problem is. This time tell them that flames have come out of it.
Obviously do not plug it back in.

  • Adding and Removing Tunes from iPod nano

I am a 68 year old man who has loved music for many years and has an extensive music collection so my kids gave me an iPodnano for Christmas 2007. I hardly touched it for over a year because of fear of and unfamiliarity with new technologies but recently decided to give it a try.
My fears were well-founded. I don't know how it happened but lots of things are on my iPod that I don't know how they got there and that I want to remove and I also have lots of songs that I want to add to the iPod but I can do neither.
I read the manual for the 3d generation iPod I have and it did not bhelp. To remove songs the manual states, " In iTunes, select iPod nano in the source list." When I turn on iTunes there is no "source list" taht I can find. The same thing happens when the manual refers to a "Devices" icon which I cannot find either. And although I can see what tunes I have on my iPod by looking at it, I don't know how to make what I have on my iPod appear on my computer scrteen when I'm in iTunes.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated or else my iPod nano is pretty much useless to me.
    Thanks.

the source list on itunes is the grey blue section on the left hand side of itunes, where it lists your libraries and the store.
When the ipod is connected to the computer you will see devices on the left hand side of itunes between itunes store and playlists.
if the ipod is not showing there I would try another USB port on the computer (if on a desk top use the back of the tower).
If still not showing at that point I would make sure you are running the proper system for the unit.
Try those steps first and if still having the issure of the ipod not showing there are other steps on the support pages or you can call apple but if the ipod is over a year old they will have to charge you to walk you through steps on the phone but they can email you for free the articles that will solve the issue at that point.

  • Burn cd from ipod classic

how do i burn a cd from my ipod classic ?

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
