Recording audio with Motu interface

Hello,
Happy Christmas!
I normally record guitars and basses with a Yamaha THR5 or 10.
The digital amp becomes the audio interface (if I understood correctly) and I can hear the guitar while being recorded and the tracks on Logic Pro.
I would like to use the audio interface MOTU Micro Book (1).
After installing the drivers, I can connect it to the mac, and I can hear the sound of the bass.
Still the Logic tracks are sent to the speakers (or mac phones).
That would be OK if I could hear the bass lines while being recorded but I can only hear them if I plug the phones on the Motu phones exit.
I have tried with the system and Logic configuration but the MOTU interface doesn't show as an available device, despite the signal arrives.
What am I doing wrong?
Funny that after trying a few things, now the audio doesn't "reach" my mac at all (even if I select "R") despite I can hear it on the headphones (of course when connected to the MOTU).
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Jim. I don't know of any faster cards, though they might exist. The "Slim SCSI 1480" is Ultra SCSI (20MB/sec), not SCSI II (10MB/sec). Adaptec used to advertise it as Mac-compatible, and I talked to a number of people who used it in Powerbook G3s that lacked SCSI ports, but that was before the early versions of OS X abandoned support for SCSI. The "PowerDomain 1480" is only SCSI II. It's specifically advertised by Adaptec as Mac OS 8.6 and 9.x-compatible, but its spec sheet says nothing about OS X — I don't know why not. Back when I was using a PBG3 and frequenting the PBG3 Discussions area, Adaptec didn't offer these two different 1480 models; there was only the Slim SCSI 1480. That's why I suggested calling and asking Adaptec about SCSI support for the faster card in Panther and Tiger. The market for SCSI peripherals to be used with Mac laptops must now be very tiny indeed, so I doubt that web pages or spec sheets for these cards are being updated frequently to reflect the slowly improving support for SCSI in recent versions of OS X.
Ratoc also makes a Cardbus adapter, but it too is Ultra SCSI, not Ultra Wide SCSI. You would, of course, have a much wider range of SCSI adapter options with a desktop Mac instead of a Powerbook. A laptop may not be the best base for your system.
