Recording frames on to HDD or SD card

Hi ,
Good Morning!!
I am working on vision application, where i need to record video frames on to Micro SD card or HDD and access via USB port. Please let me know how this can be achieved by providing any sample vi. Thanks in advance
with best regards,
Sri

I think I have got what you want SriSwathi
After expanding my former program some minutes I have come to the VI that is attached. I think this does what is has to do for your application. It still has some little beauty errors, but I think you are able to adjust them to your wishes.
beauty errors:
You can adjust the captured frames per second by adjusting the constant of the wait (ms) block
The filenames are the numbers equal to the iteration you were in taking the frame
When you choose your path you can't pick a map as path, but only a file. Simple solution (create and) select a file in the map you want to use. If you selected the file remove the file name from the path and you will use the map instead. This little bug is probably easily fixed, but I ain't got the time for it right now. I will maybe look for it later.
If you run the first time the files will be created, if you run the program a second time you will overwrite the files. If you captured 100 images the first time and 50 the second time picture number 49-99 won't be deleted and will stay in the folder untouched, so be aware of that. Also on this I think there is a solution for this.
I have to assign a program to open the pictures for every single file
Does this answer all your questions? Otherwise shoot.
Kind regards
Ruts

  • Camcorder video error: "Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."

We purchased two Samsung Droid Charges the first day they were released and recently they've both been getting this error after 8-15 seconds of recording in HD (1280x720): "Warning: Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."
Called Verizon tech support, but they referred me to Samsung. Not knowing much about micro SDHC cards, I was alarmed to discover that the factory pre-installed 32gb card is only rated class 2 for speed. Samsung told me you need a minimum of speed class 4 or higher to record at this resolution. The only problem is you need an SD card installed in order to use the camcorder, period. In other words, all of us who payed an arm and a leg for the best phone Verizon sells now have to go buy our own micro sd card that actually supports all of the phone features as advertised?! The lowest prices I've seen for the faster cards are $70. Are we the only two Charge owners experiencing this problem?  I've read somewhere that lower speed class cards may initially support faster speeds than they are rated until they accumulate more files, so the problem may go undetected for some time until you have more files that are stored in different locations on the card (making them difficult to access at the faster speeds). This may explain why are the first ones to get this error since we've had the phones the longest and only 50% free space remaining on the SD card. Oh, Samsung also said they won't be able to replace your card for one that has the proper speed rating. Kind of seems like false advertising to say a feature is available (HD camcorder), and then not mention the fact that the memory card provided isn't sufficient for that feature (separate upgrade required). Anyone else sharing the same frustrations? Ideas?

Thanks for the response. I've tried everything on that page. It's not an issue with the cable, or firewire port or the cable being connected properly, as the iSight camera works fine with iChat. I've disconnected the only other firewire device on the computer, didn't make any difference. Camera works fine in iChat, so it's not the camera itself. And, as I mentioned in the post, the same camera, if hooked up to my laptop, works just fine recording in QuickTime. So, it appears to be an issue with the QuickTime installation on this computer. I've done a search for the same error I'm getting and found some other occurrences with the same problems, but none that offered a solution.

  • RED footage record frame rate

I am working with some RED footage in PP CS5.5 and I would like to check with my media what was the recording frame rate at the time of the shoot. I looked into the metadata and cannot find any field with that information. For example I have some slow motion footage shot at different frame rates and I would like to identify precisely what it is.
If I go in REDCINE-X PRO there is a field called "Record Frame Rate" that gives me exactly that information. What is the equivalent in Premiere Pro and where can I find it?
    Thank you,
    David

No... I checked the Clip Properties window as well with no luck...
Here is the information I get in REDCINE-X PRO: you can see that particular clip was shot at 300 fps
Here is the information I get in PP CS5.5, inside the project window (I looked also into the metada information with no luck so far...):
Again when I play this clip in PP @ 23.976, it plays in slowmo as expected because it was shot at 300 fps. What I would like to get is that information of Recorded Frame Rate in PP.
    Thanks,
    David

  • Is it possible to record data directly from PXI-5112 scope card through PXI bus to SCSI RAID array (connected to PXI-8210)?

    Colleagues,
Is it possible to record data directly from PXI-5112 scope card through PXI bus to SCSI RAID array (connected to PXI-8210)?
Which will be the maximum transfer rate for continuous data recording?
    Thank you,
    Sergey
    Sergey

    Sergey,
The PXI-8210 can connect to any SCSI 2 compliant device. If the RAID controller is SCSI 2 and appears just like a hard drive in the operating system, then you can send data directly to the RAID array. The problem is that the driver for the PXI-5112 does not yet support continuous acquisition. The on-board 16MB or 32MB buffer stores the data until the entire acquisition is completed. Once the acquisition complete, all of the data is transferred from the on-board buffer to the hard drive. After that happens, the NI 5112 is ready for another acquisition.

  • Processor v Ram v HDD v Graphics Card

I'll be purchasing a 27" iMac in the next few days.
My ideal config is a little over my budget, so I'm deciding which would be the best to go.
    I was planning on
    27" i7
    16MB Ram
    1 TB Fusion
    NVIDIA GeForce Card 4GB
Dropping either the Processor, Ram, HDD or Graphics Card to the level before brings be back within budget.
I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign professionally.   For fun I do a little video editing, but I'm talking about our holiday not a major production!  No real gaming.   In the next year I'd like to start playing with 3D printing, but not professionally.
    Any suggestions?

    Drop the ram.
The 27in iMAc still allows you to add ram after you get it from Apple. Doing that will save you both money up front and money when you buy the ram from a source other then Apple.
The system will run OK with 8gb and if you have the need to upgrade you can add  it in yourself later. at a much lower price.
Message was edited by: Frank Caggiano 4gb for the graphic card is a but extreme also IMO. Unless you're doing a lot of high end video processing not sure it will get you much for image files.

You can connect the composite video and analog audio out to a EYE TV 250 which has a cable that connects to its little mini USB port for this very purpose, then record to MPEG-2 using the hardware encoder built into the device. Since it also has a tuner you can record TV directly using the EYE TV as well. It is a PVR like you have basically.
A DVD recorder might be similarly priced, maybe even less . I use one with DVD and HD to record from the line out on my PVR but I have the EYE TV 250 as well.
What you can't do is input composite TV into the MacBook if that's your idea.

If not, there is a setting that is easily turned on that will show you connect drives, memory cards, and other devices. You can turn it on like so:

Would cleaning out the preferences help Appleworks to run smoother? I noticed that was suggested in an earlier post.
Peggy's reply is spot on. Deleting the preferences won't make AppleWorks run smoother and it's not something you should do regularly. It's only a troubleshooting remedy - if the preference files are corrupted then it causes strange behaviour with AppleWorks.
The reason deleting your recent items makes AppleWorks smoother is because AppleWorks is programmed to check them regularly. And if there's a lot of them, then it takes AppleWorks a long time to check them. This causes AppleWorks to 'run a bit rough' – it's not just handling your typing, formatting, etc but also chasing up documents on your hard drive.
Hope the explanation helps a bit.

  • Recording VO in Premier using Kona 3 card

I recently have switched to Premier from FCP 7.  I'm trying for the first time to record VO through my Kona card and have not so far had success.  In Adobe help I followed the instructions for recording VO.  I select the Kona 3 card for hardware, activate a track by selecting the microphone Icon; when I have meter only selected I see audio levels in the track, but not in the master.  I deselect meter only, press the record button and the play button and the cursor begins moving.  i speak a test into the mic, then select stop and I have nothing.  No track on the timeline, nothing in my scratch disc and nothing in my files.
the mic input seems to be working in the test when I have meters only selected, but nothing happens when I deselect it.
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I sure can't see what it is.  the mic input is digital, plugged into my Kona board, I have AES digital selected in the Kona control panel and I see levels when I test with the meter only setting.
Spoke with AJA and they are also trying to figure out the issue.
    Any ideas?
    thx...Jim Watt

I believe the only I/O devices that will function as a standalone audio device as well are the Motu devices. All of the others require a video signal to pass for audio to pass through.

Alesis stuff is generally pretty good and the Alesis is correct in that it is generally accepted that the TI chips are better and it is good advice.

I paid a $104 AUS it is now $77.90 (go figure)
Unfortunately there is no image on the web site. Without pulling my PC out I'm pretty sure it has 2 outputs and 2 inputs but don't quote me on that.
You should be able to pick something like this up anywhere in the world pretty cheap.
If it was me I would say that it would be a small investment and worth it to see if you can get the Alesis stuff stabalised.

  • Equium M40x-189: Question about the HDD and graphic card upgrade

Hi folks just a few quick questions.
    1. can a second hard drive be fitted to the afore mentioned notebook?.....it came with a 60gb HDD
2.can a graphics card such as an ati or geforce mobile/go be fitted instead of the onboard graphics?
any answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
As was said before, there is no way to install a 2nd harddrive physically on the machine without it being external. And this model does not have a seperate video card, it is integrated on the motherboard. Which means it would not be possible to upgrade it. Unfortunate as it is, best you can do is increase shared memory in bios and under your virtual memory settings. The Qosmio series from Toshiba does include a 2nd hard drive bay for 2 hdd's though, as well as some have seperate video cards so you can even possibly upgrade those as well. But not the Equium M40x. Have a great day.

  • Record old VHS to HDD with Hauppauge HD PVR [Solved]

Video is fine but there is no sound. The best I can get is a scratching noise from the recording. There is nothing wrong with the equipment. I have both sound and video in windows. I tried 'cat /dev/video1 > video.mp4' and 'mplayer /dev/video1' and cat with a pipe to ffmpeg and my latest command is 'ffmpeg -i /dev/video1 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc Krou.mp4'. I have the latest firmware in my hdpvr and a two days old install of Arch.
Edit! I found out that my hdpvr still outputted audio thru the RCA-port on the back, so just switching the  audiocables to the back solved it.

  • Frame in presentation for white business card

    Hi,
I'm updating my companies business cards which have a white background. Is there a way to get a thin black line at the artboards edges that I could use when the design is put on a word document for presentation?
It's just to see the outer edge in presentation, not in printed version.
I guess i could draw a rectangle and have a black border, but is there another way to get the exact edges?
    Thanks for any ideas!
    / Arty_Party

    Arty Party,
Someone that knows anything about Worst may tell you whether it is possible to add a border in the receiving document.
Otherwise, it is probably best to create a special presentation version (which should also be suited for Worst in terms of colour (mode)). In that connexion, you could apply an outer glow or a drop shadow or something to lift it off the background.
