Recording from a mixer to ipad

I would like to get an iPad and be able to do some live recordings.  So here are my questions:
1. Can you buy some type of device that would allow you to go out of a board into your iPad. (1/4', xlr, etc) Recommendations?
2. What are some good apps for live recordings?
Thanks!

I have not done it, but understand the Griffin iMic will work with the USB adapter in the Apple Camera Connection Kit.  See <iMic>.
If you will enter griffin imic in the search box at the top of this page, you will find several threads related to your question.

  • Recording from camcorder to the iPad

I am trying to use an iPad to accept a recording from a camcorder.  In high school athletics, we are aloud to have video and I am trying to connect a camcorder to the iPad.  I know to get all of the connections to connect it to the iPad (HD to the iPad) but I was wondering what camera would be best and where to get it?  What I want to do is record a play and then stop recording on the camera and have it download directly to the iPad for each play I do this with.  The people that are in front of the iPad would be able to watch the plays while another person is recording.  I know I could swap SD cards back and forth but i am wanting a way that I do not have to do that.  Are there any suggestions?  Thanks for your help.

Go to Settings>Privacy>Photos. See if you need to allow Facebook access to the photos app. Also look at the Facebook setting under Twitter and see if there is a setting in there that you need to enable. Finally go to Settings>General>Restrictions>Privacy>Facebook and make sure that it hasn't been disabled in there.

  • Recording from a mixer to my compu

Currently I am using a Behringer EurotrackUB802 mixer that is connected to my soundcard (sb li've! 24-bit) using a rca-to-/8th jack. Im using this soundcard until I get the money to get a digidesign or protools compatable soundcard with rca inputs. Whenever i try to record, its extrremley quiet and very poor quality. I have it going into my only line-in, which the instructions say isnt just a microphone input. is there anything i can do to make it louder and better quality?

    Hi
So you're using rca's for TAPE IN/OUT. Try instead the MAIN OUT path. This is the
path I use (Phonic) and what it's manual recommends.

  • Help recording from turntables/mixer

Alright, I'm sure this has been posted before or answered somewhere on the internet, but I haven't come up with any answers yet in my search. All I want to do is hook my mixer for my turn tables up to my Macbook so that I can record some of my LPs and make some mixes. I have an RCA to headphone cable hooked up to my line input, changed the input type at the appropriate places to line in, and that's about it. If anyone could at least point me in the direction of a tutorial on how to do this with Garageband. I've never used this program before, so I would appreciate complete directions. Thanks, peace.

I will go on a step by step with you to see if you got some input:
(note that the term maybe a little different since I use my OS in french)
in Preference system / sound under input select line in.
At this moment if you make your sound source play you should see the meter on that page move.
If it don't the computer don't get any signal so you must check before it.
in GB pref. select the audio input to be the same as preference system or to line in.
Select the track you want to record on click the info button ( i ).
there is a popup next to the text "input source". (if your setting is line in it should be ok, but
    don't heart to check)
Make sure that the track you want to record on is selected and that the red dot below the control of that track is red.
    hit record.

  • Recording from muted Line-

    Hello,
I'm using Audigy 4. I want to record from Line-In [using eg. Sound Recorder]. I don't want to hear what's on Line-In and I mute it.
Is there any way to do it's When line-in is not muted it works when I record from Analog Mix. When it's muted it doesn't work.
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Michal

The "record without monitor" option was created for compatibility with TV-card recording, and it depends whether you want Line-In to come back on when you stop recording or that's not a problem for you. If you want to record Analog Mix with Line-In but effecti'vely have it muted for playback for the duration, there's a less direct way to do that with the EAX control panel:
. Launch the EAX control panel.
    2. Select an effect preset to base this on, perhaps "(No Effects)".
    3. Click on the "Source" tab.
    4. Select the "Analog Mix (Line/CD/Aux/TAD/PC)" source.
    5. Select each effect in turn, and lower the amount to 0 (<i>including</i> "Original Sound" ).
    6. If desired, type a new name for this setting in the box at the top, like "Mute Analog In". Use the button with the floppy disk icon to save this preset for future use.

  • How can I record my DJ mixes to my ipad?

I am trying to find a cheap viable solution to recording my DJ mixes to my iPad. The amount of external sound cards and apps is extensive and all range in price but choosing the right one is proving to be a mine field. I want quality but simplicity at the same time. Also I want to be able to upload to mix cloud, soundcloud and any other sites right from my ipad without transferring to my macbook (if that's possible).

You might be able to use the camera connection kit to interface.

  • I can't seem to get GB to recognize my Behringer X1222 USB Mixer. It will record, but shouldn't I be able to see and/or select which input channel(s) that I will record from? Can I record more than one channel at a time, and record multi tracks?

I can't seem to get GarageBand to recognize my Behringer X1222 USB Mixer. It will record, but only on the generic "USB Input, without seeing or letting me select the input channel from the mixer. Can't find any drivers from Behringer. How do I getGB to "see" the mixer? Thanks, I'm a newbie to Macs in genreal, and recording...

the x1222 includes a 2 channel audio interface, 2 channels are all you can get from it.
the most you can do is record to 2 tracks at a time; skim this tute to see how:

Using Azul media player app on my ipad  Apple tv will only display sound but not video from movies.  Any ideas on a fix.  I set mirroring to on but it still does not display video.  It will display photos and video recorded from my iphone.

Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home  Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the  icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the  icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay

This is all just a partial answer since details will depend upon how you want to do it.
Post by Zevoneer: iPod media recovery options - https://discussions.apple.com/message/11624224 - this is an older post and many of the links are also for old posts, so bear this in mind when reading them.
Commercial software utility for transferring songs from i-device to Mac - http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - just media purchased from iTunes Store
You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that.  iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.
I guess you could also look into getting iTunes Match.

  • Iphone 5 direct line in recording from mixer

I'm intending to buy an iphone in October and wants to find out if there are any external cables or devices I need in order to connect a direct line out from the mixer to the iphone 5 (I believe it should work the same in iphone 4s) to do recording. Or can I just plug in my 3.5mm audio out cable directly? Does the iphone 5 jack allow direct audio input? Please advise. Thanks!

did you solved your problem? My line ins disappeared too! (audigy 4)

  • Can't hear monitor / recording from mixer

I'm running three mics and a direct feed from a pre-amp into a Yamaha mixer and then from the mixer to the MBP using Garage Band purely as a recording device.
But I can't hear the mix that the Mac is recording.
    Never used GB08 before.
Help! (Band goes on in an hour or two.)

    Thanks!
(Part of the problem was that I was using a friend's BOSE headphones and he hadn't mentioned they have to powered on separately. Ok, that was dumb.)

  • Purchased a downloadable recording from a website - I can access it through my mailbox where the vendor sent me the link, but it doesn't appear to have actually downloaded anywhere on my IPad 2

I purchased a downloadable recording from a website.  I can access it through the confirmation they sent me in my mailbox, but it doesn't appear to actually have downloaded on to my iPad 2 device.  Where is it?  Can I create an icon for it on my home screen.

If you bookmark the link as favorite you can have an icon on your Safari page. Some websites let you add a icon on your home screen but it's still a link to a website.

  • Recording from Mixer to 13" Macbook Pro

    Hey everybody,
First let me be frank, I don't know much about audio equipment/mixers etc., but I do know some. Anyway, I do a lot of remote high school play-by-play broadcasts using four separte external mics that run from my Yamaha MG102c mixer, back into my 13" Macbook Pro. The problem I seem to be having is figuring out how to get my computer to recognize the external source (Mixer), so that when I go to record my broadcast for future listening, I can just use garageband. Now, I know they make USB/Firewire mixers, but i had to do this on a budget. The cord I have that I thought would connect the mixer back to my mac is just a basic right and left 1/4" plug to 1/8" adapter that runs to the single headphone jack in my computer. I don't know if I am not using the correct line channels to get the audio that is coming from the mix back, but for some reason I continue to have trouble. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.

    MBP = Mac Book Pro.
Here is what I would do:
    1) Verify that there is indeed audio coming out of your adaptor cable. You can do this by plugging that cable into some other audio device, to confirm that it is working. Also verify that you are coming out of the mixer a line or tape level.
    2) Once you have verified that the mixer/cable is correct, plug it into the one audio jack on the 13" Mac Book that doubles as a line in and headphone output jack.
    3) Launch Garage Band, and go to the menu Garage Band > Preferences. When the preferences open, click on the tab for Audio/Midi.
    4) Set your Audio Input to Built-In Line Input.
You should be good to go.
