Recording from itunes(crossfade)

Well I have had my ipod 60gb for 5 weeks, downloaded lots of music and discovered the marvel of crossfade. I've been trying to do this for years with Mdiscs and tapes-getting rid of gaps and getting one song to fade out over the next coming in. So its a revelation!! My question is, and I understand it doesn't crossfade on you ipod, but can you play your itunes playlists through your hifi and record crossfaded playlists onto a recording seperate - say a MD. I bought a belkin lead which enables me to play itunes through hifi (from earphone socket in laptop to aux connection on amp)BUT it wont record to MD whilst playing?? Am I being dumb! Is it possible to record a crossfaded playlist to MD????? Any hifi buffs know the answer?

to crossfade go into itunes, then top left to edit, then preferences, then playback. Move slider on crossfade indicator to the right....depending on how much crossfade you require.Then ok. I find the full 12 seconds is best as it gets rid of those annoying long fade outs

Soundflower or Jack OSX - you install a virtual audio driver, set the system to output to it, and in Logic, record from it.
However, using Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack is probably a nicer way of doing this, as you can set up presets and timers and hijack the audio output from lots of different applications without having to do all the virtual audio driver stuff.

In itunes...preferences you can change the setting to import songs instead of mp4 to mp3. Afer changing this setting, right click to the songs and than you are able to convert to mp3. ths's it

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

When I download a purchased album from iTunes, why is that I do not get record label information/copyright information?

I have OCD, and all my music is Purchased from iTunes. I used to have all my albums correctly organized and catelogued, and they always had their respective record labels/copyright information.
I had to redownload some music, and they are coming without this tag. Does anyone know why?
I have already deleted/redownload the whole library many times and it looks random. On my iPhone for example, the same album from Amy Winehouse yesterday was download twice, one time it came with all the correct tags, the next time it did not.
WHY does this happen? Where are we downloding music from?
This really bothers me. My music looks like it is not original and honestly I´m getting tired of trying to redownload everything over and over. I know these tags can be added manually - BUT I paid, and iTunes isn´t cheap, so what the ****?
And I know many might think this is very stupid, but it is a tag, as any other tag. What if your next redownload came with no album art?

You're not OCD. If you were OCD you would be so concerned about order that you would have a proper backup of your library and you could instantly replace anything missing with the exact beautifully organized copy you had before from the tragic and devastating disappearance of the track from your computer. If you have to re-download from Apple because something went missing on your computer it means sloppy computer habits.
I don't have any iTunes Store purchases but when I saw one on a computer once I recall copyright being stated in the summary information.

If you are burning a DVD directly from iTunes (a feature which is present in older versions of iTunes but which was removed in iTunes 10.4), that creates a computer-type DVD for backup only and cannot play in any DVD player I know of. If you want to create a disk that can play in a DVD player, you'll need to burn an audio CD, an MP3 CD if the player will accept MP3 CDs, or use some other software.

I tried recording songs in SONY CDR from ITUNES. The Itunes threw error - displyaed message - canot read media. So I used TOAST to record. It did record in a new disc but when I played I noticed that some of the songs are not recorded properly.
Any solution ?

Many videos in the iTunes store are protected so that they can only be viewed on Apple Devices signed into your iTunes account. If that is the case then your TiVo will not be able to read the files. If you know how to get a video file onto your TiVo from a flash drive, then just plug a flash drive into your Mac and drag one of the videos from inside the iTunes window onto the icon for the flash drive on your Desktop or in the left sidebar of a Finder window. That will copy the actual file onto the flash drive.

Why do movies recorded with my IPhone 4S take so long to buffer on the ATV 3 with AirPlay. 1080P movies from iTunes stream instantly.

I have a third generation apple TV and it works great with renting movies and streaming from my computer's library. However, it is extremely slow uploading movies recorded on my Iphone 4S. Clandherr, I'm having the same issue. Streaming a 1:43 video I recorded from my Iphone 4S took 10 minutes to Airplay onto my Apple TV 3G. I've also experienced lag when it comes to YouTube and Vevo videos. I've checked my Network Configuration on my Apple TV and I've got a great signal and I'm using the Apple Extreme as a wireless router with 5Mhz speed. My internet speed is super fast as well. Not sure what the heck is going on.

The advice you provided me helped download songs from the album that failed to download the first time. However, there are songs that I originally downloaded that have blank spots in the song... How can I re-download songs that have already been downloaded so they are "clean" .. i.e. the play straight through without blank spots in them. Can I do this without re-paying?

Unrestricted sharing of free* items from iTunes Store

We are trying to find a legal but convenient way of managing our family iTunes purchases and sharing.
We are just beginning to use iTunes on a couple of new Macs, three iPads or iPod Touch devices and two old PC's.
We have a home Wi-Fi network with a network drive, where we can store items to be shared.
The children in a few years will move out and will take their music, e-books, etc. with them.
Our Internet connection is slow we would like to avoid downloading the same free item from the iTunes Store to libraries associated with different Apple ID's.
We want everybody to eventually have his/her own copy of our home videos and voice memos recorded on portable devices, which can be further shared without any restrictions.
I understand that some of the rules that Apple set for iTunes users are as follows.
1. Every item purchased from iTunes Store is marked with the ownership information i.e. information about of the account it was purchased from. (The account is identified at any given time by a unique Apple ID.)
2. The ownership information on an item can not be changed, i.e. I cannot give an item to somebody else, declining to use it any more, and transferring the item to that person's iTunes library associated with that person's iTunes account.
Question 1: Are the statements 1 and 2 above correct and precise?
Question 2: Does the same apply to free items (iTunes U, e-books, iPod/iPad apps) from the iTunes store? (it is painful to download the same free item to different accounts over a slow Internet connection.)
Question 3. Does the same apply to music imported into iTunes from a CD?
Question 4: Is it true that in order to allow the kids to take their items with them when they move out, one has to make sure that the items
have been purchased from iTunes accounts associated with their own Apple ID's and placed in their separate iTunes libraries?
Question 5: If I add our home videos and voice memos to my iTunes Library associated with my iTunes account, and do not retain other copies, will it be possible to copy such items to libraries associated with other Apple ID's without any restrictions? Will it be possible to extract such items from iTunes?
Question 6: As long as we are using the same Wi-Fi, can we share music, video, ebooks from libraries associated with different Apple ID's? I believe so, but please confirm. What are the restrictions? Is it helpful to place an iTunes library on a network drive?
Question 7: I believe the same iTunes library can contain items purchased through different iTunes accounts; also there can be multiple iTunes libraries associated with the same iTunes account. Are such options useful and would they help in managing family purchases and sharing?
Question 8. I noticed that a portable device can sync (download) items from only one library. Different persons have apps and music from different libraries associated with their own Apple ID's. We would like them to have also on their portable devices the same free e-books and home videos or voice memos. Do we have to copy such free e-books and voice memos to all the different libraries?
These must be questions many familes ask, but I could not find a precise and comprehensive answer despite browsing the web for several days.

No. It said nothing about authorizing a computer. I only have one I-Pod and one computer with my library on it. I have listened to these 4 songs for over one year on my p/c and I-Pod. This is a new one to me. These 4 songs still show up in my "purchased" section of my I-tunes but I cannot play them and they will not
copy to my I-Pod. I see where I can repurchase these songs at the I-tunes store, but don't want to pay for them twice. What do you think is going on? Thanks.
