Recording from outside source

Tring to record from my line in off of a dvd player, can here the music coming through, but when I goto record it and play it back I get no sound. I've tried musicmatch and Neromix, both set up to record from line in. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi,
Did you set the input "V" to the line you want to record from?
As you need to select the source for recording....
To get there, click the little-speaker-right-below 2 times, then you get the mixer.....
Now goto options->properties, select the recording and press ok (make sure you have selected all the lines you need to see in the mixer)
Then you have the recording mixer, now select the input you want to use....
I hope this works for you....

  • Recording from external source

    I am brand new to Mac / switched from pc a week ago. not able to figure out some things yet and havent found answers in support. mostly on the basic stuff. like I was able to record audio from a lp turntable on a pc. it looks like there is no recording program built in to the iMac, or am I wrong? will I have to purchase some type of software to record from external record or tape source?

    Sorry some heavy-handed moderation has been going on here. I accidently duplicated my post when I edited it to say 'Welcome to Apple Discussions'. Then I asked the mods to remove the first post above and they've gone and deleted my second post and yours; I am sorry about that.
    You posed a question about Real Instruments in the absent post. A Real Instrument can be a microphone input or any device that connects to the Audio-In port (or a USB/Firewire Audio device).
    Hope that helps.

  • Creating Node data on Author server from outside source?

    I was wondering if it is possible to create node data on the author server from an outside source such as the publish server, without using reverse replication?
    IE,
    User accessing form page on publish server, enters data, submits the form. Which somehow would create node data directly on the author server without storing any data on the publish server.
    Is this even possible?
    Thanks

    Thank you for all the responses.
    Yes I do agree that not using reverse replication as the system is designed is not exactly a wise design choice. The problem I am facing is that the end user generated content is security sensitive and cannot be store on the publish instance. (Even temporarily)
    I have managed to write a servlet on the Author server to accept the post data and create node data on the Author repository.
    However to do this, I have had to disable login/security on the Author server for the servlet path (IE /bin/posthandlerservlet ) so that the author servlet can be accessed from the outside. Firewall has also been adjusted to let traffic through as well.
    Now my remaining question would be, is opening up this path to the Author server much more dangerous and less secure that creating the node data on the Publish server in a place that protected access? We are really worried that the node created data on the publish server could somehow be accessed by end users in the event of a security problem.

  • Recording From wave source in Sonar 4

    I am trying to mix down several tracks of audio in Sonar 4 into one track. When I select "wave" as the recording source and try to record, nothing records.
    Upon further investigation, it seems that the output from Sonar is NOT wave, because when i mute the 'Wave' section in the Surround Mixer, there is no effect on what is being played. I however, cannot find the source actually is, so the only alternative is to record using "What You Hear" which is NOT an ideal option for me.
    Anyone else have this problem? Do you know how to make it so the output from Sonar comes from the Wave output.
    I have an Audigy 2 ZS card.

    Depending on, what you're doing:
    - you can use the "Bounce To Tracks" -option instead of trying with recording?
    - if this the final producing step you're doing, the Export -function combines all selected tracks into one file (so you can also export those tracks you want and then import back to Sonar).
    See isntructions from Sonar manual (help).

  • Trying to record from external source, no region created...

    Hey everybody. Trying to record into Logic. My aim is to record sets from Ableton but at the moment I am just trying with a simple microphone. I have set my audio record path to a folder on the desktop. I have created an audio track and chosen its input source: stereo input 1 & 2. The track is armed for recording and there is a good level showing. My soundcard is outboard. A Mackie d.2 Firewire Mixer. When I hit record I get the red display along the timeline of the arrange window, the playhead moves but no region is created. When I look in the Audio window there is no file showing there either. When making tracks ordinarily with Logic I never have any problems bouncing stuff and the audio interface is always recognised. The same applies when Ableton is working in rewire. I get a signal easily enough as its routed via my mixer same as with the microphone. Funnily enough I can record into Garageband no problem but as I have Logic its about time I got to the bottom of this. I bet its something really simple I have overlooked. Anyone got any ideas?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Just to add some further info... what it does seem to be recording are midi input messages when I slide the crossfader of my mixer. A region is created but when I click on it the matrix edit window opens... no audio in sight. What am I doing wrong?...

  • Receving packets from outside source over PIX

    Hi.I have a rather strange problem. We have a PIX515E in our company and for the last couple of days we have been receiving packets with an invalid domain name on our DNS server from addresses outside of our network. What is really strange is that from the outside traffic can enter only our DMZ(not the inside network) via specific ports (mostly tcp port 80) for specific services and the problem is happening on the inside.
    Is there any way to monitor for such packets when they arrive on a PIX or better yet block them(they arrived from 4 different IP adresses from 4 different ranges)? Is it perhaps possible that a PC on the inside is allowing access to such packets?
    Any help is most welcome.

    Refer to the following document for more detail

  • How can I monitor audio that I am recording from external source?

    I am recording music from LP records (vinyl) and need to be able to listen to it while recording. It is impossible to know when a track is finished if you can't hear the music from either internal speakers or headset. Is there any way I can passthrough the sound from line in to internal speakers or headset?

    Look at LineIn for audio playthru.

  • Load buttons into a movie from outside source

    Hi,
    I am making a scrollpane with buttons in it numbered from 1
    to about 100. I may start off with numbers 1, 3, 4, 6,9, etc. I
    want to be able to add 2, 5, 7, and 8 later and still have the
    buttons show up in numerical order. Any idea how I could do that.
    Is it possible.

    The movies that I want to play one after another are not that
    large, all are between 250K and 1MB, but there are 10 altogether.
    There is no interactivity in any of the .swf's. This is just a
    linear animation which needs to be broken down into pieces because
    one .swf containing the whole animation would be about 18MB.
    I have a basic to intermediate understanding of
    actionscripting, but I'm a designer not a programmer and find some
    of this difficult. Can someone please tell me if the code below
    would work?
    For example if I have a main fla. and it contains an empty
    movieclip with an instance name MC,
    on the first frame I add the following code:
    var files:Array = ["1.swf","2.swf"];
    var counter:Number = 0;
    function loadSwf(val:Number):Void {
    if (counter == files.length) {
    counter = 0;
    if (counter<0) {
    counter = files.length-1;
    MC.loadMovie(files[counter], 1);
    counter += val;
    loadSwf(1);
    Then create all the swfs I want to load, and in the last
    frame of each swf, create an empty keyframe and add this code :
    _parent.loadSwf(1);

  • Cant access My SQL Database on Azure VM from outside source

    I have Word Press running on an Azure Virtual Machine. It uses My SQL. I would like to read the My SQL databasre from an ASP.Net application.  I have opened the 3306 internal TCP port.  I am attempting to read the My SQL database from Navicat on
    my client before I try ASP.Net and I get a Cant connect message. i can access the same database successfully from a local server copy of Navicat.  The credentials are the same on both. The only difference is the external port number.
    Is the problem with Navicat? Can you recommend another way to test the connection? I have used Shields Up to verify that the external port is open.

    Hi,
    The Azure SQL Database
    service is only available with TCP port 1433. To access Azure SQL Database from your computer, ensure that your firewall allows outgoing TCP communication on TCP port 1433.

  • Javascript to read from outside source

    I have several documents that use app.PopupMenu to display choices to the user. The list is the same on all documents. I want to be able to change this list in one place for all documents.
    But, I am unable to use a database with ODBC. I could use an MS Access file, XML, TXT, or other such method.
    Can someone tell me how I could do this please?

  • DTP does not fetch all records from Source, fetches only records in First Data Package.

    Fellas,
    I have a scenario in my BW system, where I pull data from a source using a Direct Access DTP. (Does not extract from PSA, extracts from Source)
    The Source is a table from the Oracle DB and using a datasource and a Direct Access DTP, I pull data from this table into my BW Infocube.
    The DTP's package size has been set to 100,000 and whenever this load is triggered, a lot of data records from the source table are fetched in various Data packages. This has been working fine and works fine now as well.
    But, very rarely, the DTP fetches 100,000 records in the first data package and fails to pull the remaining data records from source.
    It ends, with this message "No more data records found" even though we have records waiting to be pulled. This DTP in the process chain does not even fail and continues to the next step with a "Green" Status.
    Have you faced a similar situation in any of your systems?  What is the cause?  How can this be fixed?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cheers
    Shiva

    Hello Raman & KV,
    Thanks for your Suggestions.
    Unfortunately, I would not be able to implement any of your suggestions because, I m not allowed to change the DTP Settings.
    So, I m working on finding the root cause of this issue and came across a SAP Note - 1506944 - Only one package is always extracted during direct access , which says this is a Program Error.
    Hence, i m checking more with SAP on this and will share their insights once i hear back from them.
    Cheers

  • How to restrict number of Data Records from Source system?

    Hi,
    How can I restrict the number of Data records from R3 source system that are being loaded into BI. For example I have 1000 source data records, but only wish to transfer the first 100. How can I achieve this? Is there some option in the DataSource definition or InfoPackage definition?
    Pls help,
    SD

    Hi SD,
    You can surely restrict the number of records, best and simplest way is, check which characteristics are present in selection screen of InfoPackage and check in R3, which characteristics if given a secection could fetch you the desired number of records. Use it as selection in InfoPackage.
