Is it possible to record directly from a turntable with a moving coil cartridge in Audition 3. I am able to record directly from my cassette tape deck

If it really is a moving coil pickup rather than a moving magnet one you will need something even more specialised than a simple RIAA preamp. Usually a moving voil preamp needs matching transfomers at it's input or a very special discrete transistor front end to match the low impedance.

Any SoundBlaster card with a line-in jack will do just fine. I found SoundBlaster Audigy cards on http://www.highcriteria.com for recording, but I think you can also record with Windows Media Player if you're on a tight budget. You might need to download an MP3 encoder (if you want to record using the MP3 format) which will incur a one-time cost for it's licensing fee (I think.) I usually record all my stuff in MP3 at 28kbps because that sounds fine to me and works in all the MP3 players without gobbling up too much memory. At higher rates, the MP3 uses too much memory and at lower rates, it doesn't sound as good. Using Windows Media Player, you can already record in WMA format which takes about 0% less space than my 28kbps MP3s, but make sure your MP3 player can play the WMA format before making all your recordings. My Creative Nomad Muvo plays MP3, WMA and AA (AA = Audible Audio for audiobooks from http://www.playsforsure.com that you should check before beginning your project. That way, you'll know you will be recording your music in a format that will play on a portable player you might someday like to get. I love my tiny, lightweight little Creative Muvo Nomad because it plays a very long time on a single AAA battery and has VERY simple controls that are extremely easy to work correctly in the dark and only by touch. Some fancier players may have more features, but I can't work their controls unless I have my glasses on and can see their display to read what they're doing - this is not good if I'm driving or at night in bed with the lights out. Try before you buy (maybe at a Best Buy store) because if the controls are difficult, you won't enjoy your player very much. I also prefer players that run on standard batteries available anywhere. You might not always have a spare battery pack charged up for a player that uses proprietary (and expensi've) batteries.

Problem when recording from the AUX phono output using creative x-fi elite

Hello everyone?Hopefully someone will be able to help me out here, as I've tried everything, however nothing seems to work. I am using the x-fi elite pro on a windows vista ultimate PC. When recording analogue material, from a tape Dec, for instance, I am using the creative audio console which accompanies the x-fi elite pro. I am using the aux phono input on the back of the box, and everything has gone smoothly until a few days ago. When trying to record from my tape Dec this last week, I suddenly noticed that the sound was very distauted in the left channel. Right channel was fine.Of course the first thing I checked was the level, and this was absolutely fine too, both channels were set to around 50% in the sound-options control-panel. I then checked the cable and then tried it on other equipment as well, and everything was also fine here. I then re-connected it to the audio consul, but got the same results. Fine sounding audio in the right channel, but distauted in the left. I then tryed re-installing the newest vista-driver to see if this would solve my problem, however it didn't. Now I've only got audio in the right channel, but no audio at all in the left. Has somebody inhere experienced anything simurlar, and if yes, can you please tell me what could be wrong??All the best from Allan

On certain mobo/graphics card set ups and some sound cards there is an issue with bus latency. In short while playing back audio you will hear a frequent crackling of the audio. That is not the same as the slight click the Elite pro makes when changing modes. It has been a Creative issue for many years but is only present with certain combinations of hardware. I have experienced that issue myself but several years ago. My current Elite Pro/PC set up does not have this issue.

Audio is taken via?Digital Output (not the optical one) from the External box to a Sony Cinema Amp.
Have installed using the Vista X-Fi CD and updated to the July 2008 drivers.
Problem:
Unable to record from the Phono input on the external breakout box, in fact only the Line-In on the actual card seems to work, but when recording via the Creative Entertainment Console the recording has what sounds like reverb applied to it. Recording via Vista's Sound Recorder produces a clean sound but is in WMA and very low quality.
Other Obvious Problems:
Have to manually select the Input port via Vista's Sounds Panel, by setting the required input as 'default device'.
Headphone socket on the external box doesn't anything coming out of it.
Question:?
Has anyone sucessfully recorded via the Phono input on an Elite Pro under Vista x64, and if so how

Huhu, right-click onto the window where all devices like microphone or speaker output are listet (record, playback) (Controlpanel " sound") Then you have the option to enable "show deactivated devices" maybe then the phono input is available to your needs.

Recording from analogue input

using cool-edit or audacity. recording through mic input/output on left panel results in feedback howls from internal mic still active.have tried all combinations in sound manager settings.
can i record through usb input with phono to usb cable or do i need a analogue to digital converter?

Are you recording audio with an analogue device while your internal microphone is still enabled in the sound manager? Is a howl sound made when you are recording with only the built-in microphone? In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving microphone problems (Windows 8), which should help enable your system to record a better quality of audio.

Recording from vinyl directly onto m

Had a quick look thru the FAQ's and didn't see an answer to this question, but apologies if it has been discussed before.
I've heard that it's possible to record an analogue signal (in my case vinyl records from my hi-fi) directly onto a Creative mp3 player. is this true? One one external website they mentioned that the MuVo can do this - all that is needed is an adaptor for the Creative line-in jack to accomodate the standard input from a hi-fi amplifier...
Would appreciate any tips, advice etc on how to do this, which Creative models support this and any extra hardware/software required.

I don't think that recording direct to the player- is this what you're talking about?- is the best way to go.
Personally, I would just go and download the albums you have- owning the vinyl makes it legal for you to download the song from a peer to peer network.
If you're hell-bent on transferring them, going table to computer is the way you'll want to do it. Now, if I'm not mistaken, a phono signal isn't a perfect line-level, so you'll need to compensate with the recording level on the computer. Unless you have a top-of-the line sound card with RCA jacks connected to a dri'vebay component, you'll need a /8'' to stereo RCA adapter, which you can find at almost any electronics store that carries adapters.
In my opinion, the best program to use to record audio is Audacity, which you can download for free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net . Audacity will let you export directly to MP3 after you point it in the direction of the LAME encoder's DLL, which is included with many players. Chances are you have one of them already.

Can not delete record from the master block ,frm-40202 field must be entere

i have built a form which contain master and details blocks
the problem is
when i try to delete a record from the master block it gives me new serial for the transaction and when i try to save it, it says
>frm-40202 field must be entered
where this field is required and i cant save it
although in another form when i delete from the master it gives me the previous record and it works properly
if any one has any ideas pls help me

Return records from Stored Procedure to Callable Statement

Hi All,
I am createing a web application to display a students score card.
I have written a stored procedure in oracle that accepts the student roll number as input and returns a set of records as output containing the students scoring back to the JSP page where it has to be put into a table format.
how do i register the output type of "records" from the stored function in oracle in the "registerOutParameter" method of the "callable" statement in the JSP page.
if not by this way is there any method using which a "stored function/procedure" returning "record(s)" to the jsp page called using "callable" statement be retrieved to be used in the page. let me know any method other that writing a query for the database in the JSP page itself.

I have a question for you:
If the stored procedure is doing nothing more than generating a set of results why are you even using one?
You could create a view or write a simple query like you mentioned.
If you're intent on going the stored procedure route, then I have a suggestion. Part of the JDBC 2.0 spec allows you to basically return an object from a CallableStatement. Its a little involved but can be done. An article that I ran across a while back really helped me to figure out how to do this. There URL to it is as follows:

Display all records from 4 select list

Hi,
trying to associate 4 select list where i could display all records from a list linked to an other list.
1./ Created an item for each select list
P1_employee_name
P1_departments
P1_employee_type
P1_locations
2./Set both null and default values to '-1' for each item
3./Associated these items to source columns in the Region:
where employee_name=:P1_employee_name
or :P1_employee_name ='-1'
and departments=:P1_departments
or :P1_departments ='-1'
and ......
When running the report, couldn't display all records from a given list associated to an other list.
e.g: Display all emp and type of emp for sales dept in Paris.

I believe the issue is that you need to group your predicates such as:
where (employee_name=:P1_employee_name
or :P1_employee_name ='-1')
and
(departments=:P1_departments
or :P1_departments ='-1')
Also, if you are not already using the "select list with submit" type items, these work great for this case as the page will be submitted when the user changes the value of employeenam and the report will then reflect this change.

Excluding of records from extraction

      I know that we can write the code at start routine of the transformations but what to write in

    Now I need to undo these conversions in the current extractor and bring in these values from a
    Custom Z table from ECC using generic extractor
And I am doubted in how to undo these conversions from the current extractor to the cube

1. Open the transformation and click on start routine
2. The ABAP editor screen appears and you can find this part in the abap editor of start routine "$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line        -
... "insert your code here"
3. Please delete the line "insert your code here" completely and paste the code which i gave you.
4. Check for syntax errors and activate the transformation.
5. Also activate the DTP.
Also please dont not put the code below "begin of global or 2nd part of global".
Plz lemme how many records you have in rsa3 without any selection. The infopackage will just fetch the records from the source and it will not do any transformation.

Incomplete Data on report (report does not show all records from the table)

I have problem with CR XI, I'm running the same report on the same data with simple select all records from the table (no sorting, no grouping, no filters)
Sometimes report shows me all records sometimes not. Mostly not all records on the report. When report incomplete sometimes it shows different number of records.
I'm using CR XI runtime on Windows Server 2003

Sorry Alexander. I missed the last line where you clearly say it is runtime.
A few more questions:
- Which CR SDK are you using? The Report Designer Component or the CR assemblies for .NET?
- What is the exact version of CR you are using (from help | about)
- What CR Service Pack are you on?
And a troubleshooting suggestion:
Since this works on some machines, it will be a good idea to compare all the runtime (both CR and non CR) being loaded on a working and non working machines.

DTP does not fetch all records from Source, fetches only records in First Data Package.

I have a scenario in my BW system, where I pull data from a source using a Direct Access DTP. (Does not extract from PSA, extracts from Source)
The Source is a table from the Oracle DB and using a datasource and a Direct Access DTP, I pull data from this table into my BW Infocube.
The DTP's package size has been set to 100,000 and whenever this load is triggered, a lot of data records from the source table are fetched in various Data packages. This has been working fine and works fine now as well.
But, very rarely, the DTP fetches 100,000 records in the first data package and fails to pull the remaining data records from source.
It ends, with this message "No more data records found" even though we have records waiting to be pulled. This DTP in the process chain does not even fail and continues to the next step with a "Green" Status.
Have you faced a similar situation in any of your systems? What is the cause? How can this be fixed?

Thanks for your Suggestions.
Unfortunately, I would not be able to implement any of your suggestions because, I m not allowed to change the DTP Settings.
So, I m working on finding the root cause of this issue and came across a SAP Note - 1506944 - Only one package is always extracted during direct access , which says this is a Program Error.
Hence, i m checking more with SAP on this and will share their insights once i hear back from them.

Delta package not fetching all records from Delta queue in r/3

Hello,
I have loaded Goods Movement Data using 2LIS_03_BF datasource into my BI system.
The Delta has been initialized and everyday the delta is being moved from r/3.
I observed that when I execute my delta package not all delta records are fetched into PSA from r/3.
For Ex: Before starting my delta package I checked in SMQ1 of my R/3 system and see that there are around 1000 records.On executing the delta package I see that the record count is reduced from 1000 to 400 in SMQ1.On executing the delta package again I get the remaining 400 records into my PSA.
Shouldn't the delta package get all records from the queue on single execution??
Is there some setting to define the nr of records to be loaded?
I'm confused with this behaviour.Please help me understand this behaviour.

First thing: the data is not transferred from the SMQ1 queue, rather the data is transfered to BW from the RSA7 Delta queue. You need to check the number of records present in the RSA7 queue.
Since SMQ1 is involved, i think you are using the unserialized V3 update method. In this method, when data is first written to the application tables, it is first transferred to the SMQ1 update queue,then via a job to the LBWQ extractor queue and then to the RSA7 delta queue. So the number of entries that you see in the SMQ1 queue are not the number of entries that have to be transferred to BW but rather the records that are waiting to be transferred to the extractor queue in LBWQ. Similarly, in LBWQ, the number of entries displayed here are not the no of entries that are going to be transferred to BW, they are the no of entries that will be transferred to the delta queue RSA7 when the next v3 update job runs.
If you want to check the number of records that will be transferred to BW, select the datasource in rsa7 and then click on the display data entries button.

Form does not display all records from table

Hi guys
I modified one form that was based on a signle DB table. I removed certain fields from the table and added some extra fields to that table. Then based on the new table I also modified the form and removed the text items related to old fields in the table and added new text items pointing to the new fields now. II have checked all the new items properties and they have don't seem to be wrong or so. But now the problem is the form does not display all the records from the table. before it used to display all records from the table when qureied but not now. It only certain records from the table containing all new data and also old data but the form does not display other records though I don't see any obvious discrepancy. Remember that the before doing the modifications, I have table back for the old, created another table that contained new records for the new fields, and then I inserted the old records and updated the new table data in the new table with these new table values. So this way I have got my new table. Could someone help why the new modified form fails to display all records from the new table updated table though it display some of them successfully.
Any help will be appreciated.

where m.accid=d.accid (+)The outer join operator (+) will get you all the details from master and any details from the detail if they exist, but the master details will still be got even if there are not details.
Note: Oracle 10g now supports ANSI standard outer joins as in:
select m.accid,m.title,d.dr,d.cr
from master m LEFT OUTER JOIN detail d on m.accid=d.accid
