Recording in the dark, Nokia N8

Tried recording a video last night in the dark, no lights on what-so-ever. The video recorded fine, perfect sound but couldn't see a thing. Obviously didn't get to see what I tried to video. Is there a function on the phone where the light on the phone will function, so I can actually view my video?  Cheers

if you can't see it in the viewfinder (screen) it's not going to come out in the actual recording.
The Xenon flash cannot be used as a lightsource.  Besides the fact that this will probably heat the device too fast, the power consumption would make it impractical.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • Nokia N97 Camera Flash In The Dark

    My N97 is already currently being repaired in a Nokia Service Centre however not for this reason, i have just remembered that when i take a photo in the black or in the dark outside, and i use the flash, it takes the photo and most times not always you see a like white blob down the left side of the photo, anyone know why? or if this can be fixed? and if so how do i contact Nokia Service to tell them to repair it?

    I didn't need any paperwork, i don't think you should.
    It is a well known problem with the N97, if you do need anything, you may need a photo on your phone to show the problem or be able to show the scratches on the camera but you may not need to do that, just tell them your problem and it will click for them what it is as they replace them everyday now.
    Obviously how quick he can do it, depends on how much work that dealer has, but with me he said it would be done within 30minutes, any longer and he would drop it home for me.......great customer service

  • Shot in the dark - Accessing page records outside the component buffer

    I know this is a shot in the dark, but I'm hoping there is some trick someone has found that allows an iScript to make use of or imitate the function 'GetRecord'. I understand the limitations of an iScript and the reasons why it has no access to things like 'GetRecord', but I'm trying to manipulate field display options from code executing in an iScript. Has anyone found a way to interact with fields on a page through peoplecode in an iScript?
    thanks,
    Paul

    Folks,
    This question has been solved by myself. Thanks.

  • How Do I Contact the REAL Nokia Company ..

    Please help, someone .. anyone !! I cannot get any help from Nokia USA because ... well, here is my story, and I am sorry if I chose the wrong forum. I am not quite sure where to post this.
    I will try to make this VERY LONG story, as short as possible.
    I sent my phone to Nokia [USA] for a repair on 1/5/2007 [just a few days after receiving it.] I couldn't find a reason why the phone was locking up and I couldn't find a solution to repair it .. Apparently I am not the only one that couldn't figure it out .. The repair center I sent the phone to couldn't either.
    On 2/2/2007, after dozens and dozens of repair status inquiries, many hours on the phone with Nokia USA, the EXECUTIVE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT tells me that Nokia Repair could NOT fix my phone. It is a hardware issue and repair has NO PARTS and NO REPLACEMENT phones ... WHAT ???
    The N93 is for sale on the Nokia USA website. Every once in a while the website reports it out of stock, but as of Friday when I get the news that there are no parts and no phones to fix or replace mine, I check the site and see they ARE IN STOCK - AND TAKING ORDERS FOR IMMEDIATE SHIPPING ...
    I ask that the EXECUTIVE SOLUTIONS TEAM get me one of those phones. NO CAN DO ... they say. AND, Nokia repair can not have the sales department's phones either. Why is this ???
    So today I did some investigating. Nokia Repair USA is NOT REALLY NOKIA REPAIR, it is some company called Palco. They are in Alabama and they cannot repair my phone because they have no parts and they cannot replace my phone [as stated in my warranty] because they have no phones. I talked to Palco today and the woman tells me that parts and phones have been on order for months and I guess since Palco does MUCH MORE than just repair phones for Nokia - the phones they receive from Nokia customers that they cannot fix for one reason or another are just tossed in a pile and forgotten. I guess it is not a big concern of theirs .. They just email Nokia USA and tell them - Sorry, we can't fix this phone. END OF STORY.
    Nokia Executive Solutions Department says - We will have to mail you a refund because we have NO WAY of replacing your phone. END OF STORY.
    Which leads me to believe, like I have for weeks now, that Nokia USA support, Nokia USA customer service and Nokia EXECUTIVE Solutions USA, are different companies contracted by Nokia to SHUT THE CUSTOMER UP. Apparently they aren't the ones who do the actual refund. I don't know where the refunds come from, but I was PROMISED, I will get a refund.
    I WANT MY PHONE!
    So ... this is why I want to get in touch with the REAL Nokia company. I want a N93 and I want to get it from Finland or wherever the REAL company is.
    One of the reps at Nokia USA Executive solutions USA said the name, Palco when we were talking about the repair so when I got off the phone with him, I looked up Palco on the internet and sure enough, the address I sent my phone to, is the same address as Palco. So I called them.
    There was NOTHING on Palco's recorded message that even mentioned cellphone repair. It talked IT Sales and service and a whole lot more, but NOTHING NOKIA and NOTHING CELLPHONE .. I pushed O for an operator and she connected me to - the person who handles Nokia phone repairs.
    Before I send Nokia USA anything to get my refund under way, I want to try and reach the REAL nokia in Finland or wherever they are and see if I can get a replacement phone! I almost forgot to mention. If I go the route, it will take SIX WEEKS to process. Can someone please give me some advise?
    Sorry for rambling. Hope you can follow me .. I know I jump around a lot. I am just so frustrated.
    Diane

    The address for Nokia's Head Office for the US is :
    Nokia Americas
    6000 Connection Drive
    Irving, Texas
    75039
    USA
    Tel. +1 972 894 5000
    and this information can be found here :

    One word of advice - Nokia is HUGE - give them a call first and get the name of someone or at least a department that you can address your letter to or it will get lost in the myriad of letters that Nokia get everyday.
    NSCs (Nokia Service Centres) in the UK are also run by 3rd party companies, as I suspect most of them round the world are. For want of a better expression Nokia outsource this facility to 3rd party companies and then get the blame when it all goes wrong (!).
    In the UK we have a facility called Club Nokia where can we can report issues directly to Nokia relating to this as well as carry out tasks like product registration however I've just had a look on the US website and there doesn't appear to be this facility for the US - each task has it's own webpage.
    As to these forums, please remember that although you will see various Nokia administrators etc. they are simply here to ensure everyone plays nice rather than offering any form of official help or support, and that these forums are a user to user help forum - i.e. I'm a direct end user of Nokia products exactly as you are !
    Anyway, good luck - let me know if you need any further help.
    Regards,
    Edward

    OK, I'm perplexed.  I've been a mac user for almost 30 years.  My entire ecosystem is Mac and I remained with mac through the dark 90s.  What apple has does in the past 2 years is unbelieveable.  I just upgraded to 10.86, then 10.9, no end of problems.
    I can no longer mirror and of my monitors VGA or HDMI, my itunes which supplies iphone and ipad has disabled podcast app so that I can't listen to my favorite programs and I find out after the fact that Office software is not compatible with OSX 8.6.
    Forget about the fact that itunes looks like it was developed by a 1980s MS-DOS programmer.   Its kludgy, limited and generally does not work.
    What does one do?  Frankly, I used to use macs because they were like info appliances that just worked.  Now the time to manage tech glitches from the company has become way too costly.  Sadly, Apple has become Microsoft and Microsoft seems to become Apple.

    "... as do the users who are downloading recent OSXs in record numbers."
    USUALLY YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD UNTIL YOU HAVE IT !!!
    APPLE USED TO HAVE GREAT STUFF BUT OBVIOUSLY TRIES TO INVENT FOR THE SAKE OF INVENTING !!!
    THIS IS ACTUALLY A STEP BACKWARDS (TO MS).
    CALENDAR & CONTACTS SYNC VIA ICLOUD ONLY IS AN ABSOLUTE NO GO !!!
    @APPLE: FIX THIS ASAP !!!

  • Video Recording Stutter + Vertical Dark line appea...

    The phone is less than two weeks old. I only started using the camera recently and the stuttering problem others described here is happening to me device. Also, the major problem I see now is the dark link appearing while in standby and during recording. It doesn't always come up but it happens a lot. Please view the video here:
    http://yfrog.com/6c31052010011z
    Did this happen to anybody else ? is it definitely a hardware problem ?
    This is a link to the whole video btw..

    Looks like some kind of scale. I assume your device is still under warranty. Bring it in at your retailer.

  • ATI oss color space compressed in the dark shades of gray

    With the arrival von linux 3.13 to [core] I switched from catalyst to the open source drivers, as they finally provide a sufficient performance. My only problem now is that the colorspace is compressed for gray values below 16 (that means every shade of gray having values of 0 to 16 look just black). That's only the case for my HDMI-output connected to my TV, which worked without problems with the catalyst drivers. Also, only the dark grays are compressed, the near-white grays show up correct.
    In the wiki I found a xrandr-command "--set "Broadcast RGB" "Full"", which can be used with chips from Intel. Is there something similar for the open source ati drivers?

    That's just outputting the options "load detection", "dither", "audio", "underscan vborder", "underscan hborder", "underscan" and "coherent" for both my monitor and TV - are these really all? Here's the full output:
    $ xrandr -q --verbose

    Just to emphasize this further: color space compression is not a problem on my monitor, but only on the TV. Setable options don't differ as you can see in the output above. Also, Xorg.0.log shows that the TV on HDMI-0 supports the RGB 4:4:4 encoding (just like the monitor does). Here's the full Xorg.0.log:

    I am running into a wierd error.
    I have built a new page which contains the information about the employees. Some of the fields are updatable fields. The page shows the details of the person who logs into the page.
    I am not using EO in this page. The data is queried from the database from VO and displayed in the page and when the records are updated, they are saved in the databased using pl/sql procedure which is
    being called from AM. So i am basically not using VO to save the records in the database.
    The error which i am getting is,
    If 2 users are trying to update the page at the same time, user A's details are updated in user B's page.
    This is really causing the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Urgent help needed: how to display a list of records on the screen

    Hello,
    This is very urgent. Can anyone help me. I have posted this query of mine before also but still no reply came. My whole application is dependent on this problem. Actually I am developing an application for mobile phone using MIDP. I have a record store which contains personal details for users. I am able to add records to the record store. Now I want that these records can be edited. For this I want to display a list of firstname field on the screen (and not console) so that i can select a user to edit its details. I have written the code to read the records and individual fields and display it on the console but i want to display that list on screen. I tried list and array but it s giving some error.
    I am giving the code to read the records below. Please tell me how can I display it in a list on the screen.
    public void readStream(){
    try
    byte[] recData=new byte[50];
    String varname;
    ByteArrayInputStream strmBytes = new ByteArrayInputStream(recData);
    DataInputStream strmData=new DataInputStream(strmBytes);
    if (rsperdt.getNumRecords() > 0){
    ComparatorString comp=new ComparatorString();
    int i=1;
    RecordEnumeration re=rsperdt.enumerateRecords(null, comp, false);
    while(re.hasNextElement()){
    rsperdt.getRecord(re.nextRecordId(), recData,0);
    System.out.println("Record #" + i );
    varname = strmData.readUTF();
    System.out.println("Name #"+varname);
    System.out.println("---------------------------");
    i=i+1;
    strmBytes.reset();
    comp.compareStringClose();
    re.destroy();
    strmBytes.close();
    catch(Exception e){
    System.err.println("read Records class:read");
    }

    I could not understand ur point "post the code in tags". I am pasting the code below. Please help as my whole application is stuck due to this problem and I have a deadline of 7th oct.

  • Importing to iMovie: How do I use an external usb mic when recording with the built-in FaceTime HD Camera?

    Hello all
    I'm scheduled to work with a friend this week; I'm going to help him make a simple audition DVD.  I promised him I had the necessary equipment and such.
    I was importing from the webcam using iMovie.  If I can't use my external mic to record for the video, there is more involved in the editing process.   I was hoping to record the video and audio into one package.  I'm using the built-in FaceTime webcam on my macbook pro and a ZoomH1 on usb.
    I've tried changing the audio in system preferences: input to H1.  This works when recording with audacity or anything else.  I even changed the input on FaceTime to H1.  There aren't any preferences I can find in iMovie to change the input for importing video directly from the webcam.
    How do I change the audio input for direct import on iMovie?
    OR
    Is there something else I can do to have HD video and HQ audio captured in one video file on my macbook pro?
    I suppose I can record the video and audio separately but that is usually much more involved.  This is why I got this usb microphone lol.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Seth

    I just found using QuickTime Player to record a movie works great.  I can easily change the audio input.  iMovie is silly. lol
    If I missed anything let me know.
    Thanks
    -Seth

  • Double data records in the cube.

    Hi experts
    when we are loading the data from DSO to infocube by using DTP ,
    the Problem is its updating double records in the infocube,  with  same record and the key figure values zero .
    in the transformations we don't have any start routine, end routine  ..
    Please could any  tell me how to overcome from this
    thanks
    kumar

    Hi Fredrik,
    not all settings in infopackages work in chains in the same way they do while running the package manually. Mostly you can check that with pressing F1 on the setting. In your case, you need to add a process type for deleting the data to the chain. In your chain maintenance, look at process types and then in load processes .... There you will find the type you need.
    kind regards

  • End Routine - Modify a record in the cube

    Hello Guys,
    In the end routine I have to update a field . The transformation is the same cube to the cube. I want the record to be modified like add a value to a field in the end routine. Since it is a cube it creates a new record instead of overwriting the existing record. Is there anyway I can modify the record. I know I can make the existing record 0.00 and then create a new record with the new value.Is there any other solution.
    For example:This is the existing record in the cube
    sales order           Item No                      Backlog Amount                      Indicator
    1000                     10                              1000.00
    After applying the end routine it has 2 records ( I modify the record with the indicator value)
    sales order           Item No                      Backlog Amount                      Indicator
    1000                     10                              1000.00
    1000                     10                              1000.00                                    REV
    After applying the end routine I need the record to be like overwrite(similar to DSO)
    sales order           Item No                      Backlog Amount                      Indicator
    1000                     10                              1000.00                                   REV
    How to achieve the above result in end routine.
    Thanks
    Senthil

    Hi there,
    Since you create new records in end routine in the InfoCube, why not delete the old ones?
    You can use the
    delete RESULT_PACKAGE where ...
    Therefore deleting the old records after inserting the new ones.
    Diogo.

  • Incomplete Data on report (report does not show all records from the table)

    Hello,
    I have problem with CR XI, I'm running the same report on the same data with simple select all records from the table (no sorting, no grouping, no filters)
    Sometimes report shows me all records sometimes not. Mostly not all records on the report. When report incomplete sometimes it shows different number of records.
    I'm using CR XI runtime on Windows Server 2003
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks!

    Sorry Alexander. I missed the last line where you clearly say it is runtime.
    A few more questions:
    - Which CR SDK are you using? The Report Designer Component or the CR assemblies for .NET?
    - What is the exact version of CR you are using (from help | about)
    - What CR Service Pack are you on?
    And a troubleshooting suggestion:
    Since this works on some machines, it will be a good idea to compare all the runtime (both CR and non CR) being loaded on a working and non working machines.
    Download the modules utility from here:
