Recording Internet radio programs

Could you recommend software that records streamed internet radio programs. It would great if it can be programmed to record in the middle of the day while I am at work. It does not need to be free as long it works and comes with a good track record.
Thanks for your help

Hi there,
Just curious as to why that is illegal.... If I turn on the radio, put a cassette recorder next to it, and record.... is that illegal?
Inquiring minds want to know!

  • App for recording internet radio stations?

Hi, have looked in the app store for an app that will enable me to record internet radio stations that I am listening to.
I have seen there are plenty of recorders that will record voice etc through the iphone mic but I really want to record what I am hearing such as internet radio.
Will any of the current apps do this? If so which ones & which are stable etc?
    Many Thanks!

there is no way you could have an app that plays internet radio and have an app that records the internet radio...i dont know if an app exists but even if it did, you couldnt run 2 apps at the same time, so obviously you cant record

  • Recording internet radio streams...

Does anyone know of an effective means of recording internet radio streams as .mp3 or .ogg files? I did a LITTLE bit of searching and only found stuff for windows.

If I remember well, I managed to record video brodcasts from the Internet using mplayer. It is full of options and it might be a place to start. The thing is that the video I've recorded was of fixed length and I believe you want to capture live radio.

You have various options, depending on your needs and the source you want to record, for instance,
    - Audio Hijack Pro (or its cheaper cousin Piezo);
    - WireTap;
    - iRecordMusic;
In terms of free apps, you can try VLC (which won't work with certain streams, eg, BBC), iMagneto, or the audio editor Audacity in conjunction with a tool like Soundflower.
You can probably find a few more options if you google it, but I'd say these are the main ones.

  • How do I record internet radio?

This isn't really a problem but a question. Can someone tell me how to record an FM radio station so I can put some of their programs on a CD and listen in my car? It's an actual FM station, not one of the stations that come up if you go to Windows Media Player. Can someone help, please?

Such internet radio content is usually streamed and that requires special software to intercept and record the stream.

Hi there. We have two iphone 3gs' and an Ipad 2 all operate on IOS 5 but one of the iphones syncs on another computer. The other two sync on our other computer. Those two will only play internet radio for a short time and then they stop playing the program while our third will play all the way through and we can always get back to the program. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this happens? Thank you

    Here's how to do it.
    1. App Store, iTunes Store should have the same AppleID on Computer and iPhones. (Free to share apps, music and books... )
    2. Person A uses the same purchasing account for everything (ie. email, contacts and ...).
    3. Person B have the same purchase account see no. 1 (for App Store and iTunes Store) but create a second AppleID for iCal, e-mail, contacts  and etc.

  • Recording internet radio

Does anyone know how to record internet audio files such as a radio broadcast in wmv format without using a microphone or other external devices?  Isn't there a way to do it internally through the computer?  There has to be a way without purchasing some no name brand product.  I have the entire master suite CS4 software plus Nero Ultra 9 and Roxio and still have been unsuccessful w/o using a microphone which has left me with a very poor quality sounding file in the end.  Appreciate any advice on this matter as I have a project request from a family member who is a radio speaker which will require editing viewers questions & interactions from each of his on air broadcasts. Thanks for any input.

I use Audio Hijack Pro and Wiretap studio on my Mac. Both are very easy to use and work a charm. I heard it can be done with soundflower by cycling74 but I never got my head round this one.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • How to record internet radio for free?

I have a macbook pro, and I would like to program the macbook to record a short radio show everyday for 5 min. And listen to it when I am free.
Right now I am using the
    1. energy saver schedule to program the macbook boot at 7:20am everyday.
    2. on the users and group, login item I added chrome & audacity to start
    3. I set the default page on chrome to am1430.com/live/pop_live1430.php
    4. get the driver call soundflower to redircet the input and output audio link to audacity
    5. set the audacity input and output to soundflower 2ch
    6. set the audacity transport timer recording to the start time and duration
    7. once it is done can export and save the audio to mp3.
But my question is? is there a better way to do this. Any free app can do that?
Can automator be able to do all this?
what is the worst case that if I really want to use this as my first program to write something, what is a good starter to do something like this
    thanks.

Do you have the output set correctly in "Sound" system preference? Is muting off? Do other sound files play?
    I record with Radioshift

  • How to record internet radio?

What's the best way to record streaming audio (radio)?
    thx
    m

I've just checked with clause 2.8 on the terms of use and I think we're okay to discuss this, so long as it's for your personal use.  OS X offers no built-in way to record streaming audio.  You will need third party software.  You will need software to record the audio, Audacity is excellent and free. You will also need software to route the audio from the soundcard to Audacity,  Soundflower is what you need - also free.

  • Can I record a radio program

I'm streaming radio on my desktop. Can I record the stream?

I don't think Garageband can capture the Audio from other applications. For that you need an application like e.g. Audio Hijack Pro.

  • Using Internet radio

Hi everyone - I'm completely new to the iPod - I got my first (second gen shuffle) yesterday ... I mainly got it because I wanted to listen to podcasts and Internet radio. Problem is, I don't know how to do that... I really want to use Internet Radio with it - specifically Beatlesarama - could anyone help? Thanks.

You can't listen to internet radio on an iPod because iPods have no way of connecting to the interenet. You could record internet radio programs using something like Audio Hijack and then transfer the recordings to your iPod.

  • Recording radio programs

Is there a way to record live radio (not podcasts) onto the touch? There are some shows that run in the middle of the night that I would like to record to listen to at a later time. Thanks for your help.

For the computer only, a great program to use is RadioLover (google search it).
This program is great for recording internet radio shows ... I use it all the time and
have built up a pretty good collection of jazz mp3's that play through iTunes.
Try it, it might be what you're looking for.

  • MacBook with GarageBand as a recording studio for a radio program?

    Hey all.
My former Pastor, who is now head of a mission organization, is going to start recording a radio program. I told him I thought that the MacBook, which he has, would do the job with minimal extras.
My question is, have I told him correctly? If so, is anyone out there doing similarly? Do you know what format is required for radio? What extras do you recommend he get?(I thought a good headphone/mic combo)
Thanks for the replies in advance. You guys have always been a wealth of knowledge that most computer makers support can't compare to.
    Nick
PS-My apologies as this is a double post from the MacBook categories. I should have posted here instead.

Take a look here for aninterface:
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/Interfaces.html
I would say the inspire is my #1 choice for his application, as an interface. However he could go as simple as just a mixing console, like in the bottom row (the former would give the best results, the latter would still offer really good results)
    For a mic:
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/Microphones.html
I would probably pick the sm58. The BETA 87a is a phenomenal mic (I use one), though that alone is $250. The 58 would pick up less room sounds, the 87 would pick up everything
as an alt solution, the middle row are USB mics, the first two being very good quality, very reasonably priced, and would require no interface.

  • Wrong station plays in internet radio

I click on iTunes and click the icon for internet radio, some stations aren't playing right, I can see the name of the station that comes up, it doesn't match the one I clicked. One is an acoustic rock station but what comes up is something else. The first time it happened was right after an iTunes upgrade, in a previous OS. After awhile I gave up and went directly to the station's site, but I like using the internet radio program because I can get more variety, although I can do that on their site too but it's more fun going to different stations from the iTunes internet radio page. I have the latest iTunes, 12.0.1.26, Os is Yosemite, on a MacBook Pro that's almost 2 years old. I tried downloading iTunes so I could reload it, hoping it would help, but something went wrong. Any ideas?

Thank you. I review it but it does not really seem to have anything to do with my problem.
I have had the exact same content on my site for the past year and it has worked fine in I.E. and others.
Suddendly I.E. is not working with Quicktime and I have made no changes.
It has something to do with Quicktime and iWeb and I.E. interface.
If iweb working with Quicktime in I.E. does not work correctly, I should not need to make code changes, the application will be no longer any use to me and I will no longer use iWeb. This is a compatibility and release (version etc) issue.
    Thanks for responding
