Recording internet stre

?I recorded a concert streamed from Real Player?using a recording app. called Luna. I used the "What you hear" input?selection with a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy card. I initially tried recording it into Audacity using "What you hear" as a recording option but I noticed it was coming in as a mono file. So I switched apps and used Luna which rendered it as a stereo .wav file. ?I had never recorded a streamed audio file off the internet so?I was just wondering why?the stream was coming in through the card?as mono and not stereo?Message Edited by Gothboy on 06-0-20072:55 PM

Nothing else comes into mind but, as there are couple methods to start the recording in Audacity, did you
a. - create a new audio track through menu option [Project menu] -> this creates a mono track
b. - created a mono or stereo track [Project menu] -> this creates the selected type of track (mono/stereo)
c. - started recording by simply pressing the record button w/o creating new project st -> this creates a new stereo track (i.e. two mono tracks)
The c is maybe the easiest way to record to a stereo track (i.e. after pressing the record button, you should see two mono tracks created).

  • App for recording internet radio stations?

Hi, have looked in the app store for an app that will enable me to record internet radio stations that I am listening to.
I have seen there are plenty of recorders that will record voice etc through the iphone mic but I really want to record what I am hearing such as internet radio.
Will any of the current apps do this? If so which ones & which are stable etc?
    Many Thanks!

there is no way you could have an app that plays internet radio and have an app that records the internet radio...i dont know if an app exists but even if it did, you couldnt run 2 apps at the same time, so obviously you cant record

  • Recording internet radio

Does anyone know how to record internet audio files such as a radio broadcast in wmv format without using a microphone or other external devices?  Isn't there a way to do it internally through the computer?  There has to be a way without purchasing some no name brand product.  I have the entire master suite CS4 software plus Nero Ultra 9 and Roxio and still have been unsuccessful w/o using a microphone which has left me with a very poor quality sounding file in the end.  Appreciate any advice on this matter as I have a project request from a family member who is a radio speaker which will require editing viewers questions & interactions from each of his on air broadcasts. Thanks for any input.

I use Audio Hijack Pro and Wiretap studio on my Mac. Both are very easy to use and work a charm. I heard it can be done with soundflower by cycling74 but I never got my head round this one.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Recording internet streams using Vi

I need some help. I have been trying to set up my new laptop ( Vista Business OS ) to record internet audio streams directly into my D.A. program internally,? without having to run cables in and out. I know it can be done as I've seen it on XP versions. Perhaps I need a better sound card? Any assistance or advice would be much appreciated.

I don't think it's about Gates or some Microsoft conspiracy,? it's just an issue with Vista because it works ok with XP. As I had said,? it just might be the quality of my sound card.
Speaking of sound cards,? can anyone advise me on a good quality card that works well with Vista? With all of that said,? even after all of these years Apple is STILL a far superior platform form music and video. For me,? the PC is nothing more than a necessary inconvenience and an irritant when it takes such drama to get it to do what a Mac does instincti'vely and with no effort.
With my Mac( s ),? I spend all of my time and energy creating. With the PC,? I spend all of my time trying to get it to work right. What a waste of time. Don't get me wrong,? PC's do some great things,? but they really suck when it comes to music and/or video production.

  • Recording internet radio streams...

Does anyone know of an effective means of recording internet radio streams as .mp3 or .ogg files? I did a LITTLE bit of searching and only found stuff for windows.

If I remember well, I managed to record video brodcasts from the Internet using mplayer. It is full of options and it might be a place to start. The thing is that the video I've recorded was of fixed length and I believe you want to capture live radio.

  • How do I record internet radio?

This isn't really a problem but a question. Can someone tell me how to record an FM radio station so I can put some of their programs on a CD and listen in my car? It's an actual FM station, not one of the stations that come up if you go to Windows Media Player. Can someone help, please?

Such internet radio content is usually streamed and that requires special software to intercept and record the stream.

  • Can Quicktime 7.6 record internet audio?

I need a software that can record any audio sound includes internet radio and stuff.
and must capable of converting file directly into MP3 or AAC during or after recording.
    Can Quicktime pro do that?
I'm just about to buy it, but I won't if it can't do that!

do I need to buy an anti-virus for Mac software such as VirusBarrier X5 by Intego.?
Nope! No viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions.
It is possible, however, to pass on a Windows virus to another Windows user, for example through an email attachment. To prevent this all you need is the free anti-virus utility ClamXav, which you can download from:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
WireTape Studio seems very nice but expensive, what do you think of it?
    Never used it!

  • HT201301 viewing and recording internet videos ???? How do I use the ipad air as a PVR ????

How do I use the ipad air as a PVR to record and later view internet videos.
I want to watch the canadian version at cbc.ca/sochi which is streamed in real time at least 10 hours later during daylight hours here not in the 10 hour shift in Russian time. The events tend to occur in  the middle of our night and I want to watch in our daylight hours.
Yes the events are rebroadcast later but I expect they will be general and not specifically covering Canadian competitor. Commentary etc will be different.

    You don't.

  • Recording Internet Stream In Logic?

Hi, i am looking to record an internet stream in logic, is this possible? I have searched high and low to find out how it is done but i can't find anything.
All i want to do is record 'what you hear thru the speakers' when the audio stream is playing.
How would i go about doing this?
Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks

Elastic: Audio Hijack works bit differently, actually, easier: You don't record an URL for a radio station, you record instead the "output" of the application that streams it. In other words:
If you go into iTunes, you can see on the left "Radio Stations" if you double click on one of them, you will hear that radio station playing, right? Audio Hijack records THAT, i.e. iTunes. You just have to select "iTunes" to be recorded. This is how you do it: There are four buttons on Audio Hijack Pro's (AHP) window: Input, Recording, Tags, Effects. Click on "Input" tab. Select "Application" where it says "Source Type". On the right there's a "Select..." button. Click it and navigate to iTunes. That's it. Now have iTunes play a radio station. Click on the top-left "Hijack" button. The meters should move. That means that audio is getting through AHP. If you click on the "Record" button, whatever you hear will be recorded. Where? Click on one of the four buttons mentioned earlier, on the "recording" button, which is next to "Input" on AHP's main window. Once you have clicked on "recording" it says "Save recording to...". Choose where you want you recording to go.
Next question: save stream as what? Under the same "recording" window (i.e. after you have clicked the "recording" button next to the "input" button), you will see "Format", with a drop down menu. Select the format you want and the quality desired. You're done.
And, in the same way you have chosen iTunes to be recorded, you can choose other applications. One to have also is your browser itself. This will enable you to record whatever sound comes out when you surf. Say, sound from YouTube. I often go to the website of a great DJ I like and when I click on one of his mixes, it will play through, of course, my browser. So that's what I will record with AHP. Basically, wherever the sound comes from, this is what AHP will record, but you'll have to select it, like I told you about iTunes.
    Hope this helps!
    A.

  • Xmod - conflict recording internet ra

My limited experience indicates that one can't very well record streaming internet radio while hooked to the Xmod (NOT trying to process that stream thru the device, of course). This was on a notebook without a separate soundcard, if that makes a difference. I?wasn't able to configure the sound devices to perform. I use HarddiskOgg for recording. If someone could confirm that, yes, it is not really possible then I at least could stop trying.Maybe it is possible?

No replies. I'll just bin the hardware. What a waste of money. david

  • Recording Internet radio programs

Could you recommend software that records streamed internet radio programs. It would great if it can be programmed to record in the middle of the day while I am at work. It does not need to be free as long it works and comes with a good track record.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi there,
Just curious as to why that is illegal.... If I turn on the radio, put a cassette recorder next to it, and record.... is that illegal?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

  • Playing recorded internet streams

I found out that I can't stream live streaming content through my Mac to the Apple TV, so I have recorded some things I like using Irecordmusic into iTunes. They show up in my library and synch to an iPod easily, but they do NOT show up on AppleTV's list of what is in my library. Any body have a clue why? Wrong encoding, MPs vs AAC maybe? Bob

    I assume you're recording music.
Are you saving to a non-AppleTV format such as Ogg Vorbis or FLAC.
AppleTV should support most AAC and MP3s, unless the encoding is peculiar.

  • Recording Internet Video from Mac to VCR

    Here's what I want to do ---
There is some streaming video that I wish to be able to show to a class. I cannot download it and burn it to a DVD, so I was hoping to hook up my computer to my TV, play the video and record it to a VHS cassette.
I have succeeded in using the TV as a monitor, with both video and sound, and I played the streaming video and hit the record button on the VCR.
However, when I tried to play it back, I just got several minutes of a screen that was blank except for the words "Unusable Signal." Obviously it had not recorded the video.
Does anyone know whether/how I can do what I am attempting?
Or is there a way to connect the computer directly to the VCR and record that way?
I realize this a backward process compared to what most people try to do with a Mac and a VCR. Please help!
(FYI, I am using a G$ PowerBook, running OSX 10.3.9, and Samsung VCR.)
    Thanks.

Yes, you need to hook up the Mac to the VCR directly, as if it were the TV. If you then connect the VCR output to the TV you'll be able to see what you're receiving on the VCR.
Many VCRs have composite video connectors or S-Video connectors, to take video from handycams and the like so you should be able to do it without difficulty.

  • Record Internet Explorer 7

    Hi!
I’m trying to create a guide about IE7 using Adobe
Captivate 2. I use the record demonstration options. I start the
recording process and then open IE7, now I hear the camera capture
sound, but as I click around in IE7, Captivate 2 don’t
capture any new screen shots. I try to force a screen hot by
pressing the print screen button but nothing happens. it seems like
all the short-cut commands in Captivate 2 have stopped working when
I try to record from IE7.
Any one has an idea of what to do?

Okay, I see you mention that only the recording shortcut keys

also said that you did hear Camera Shutter sounds when you clicked
the mouse. When this happens, is Captivate recording what is inside
    the recording area?
Have you tried clicking Options > Recording Options...
    > Change Recording Keys and configuring a different key that
would be used to capture the screen? Maybe somehow it was changed
from the default Print Screen key or your keyboard is for reasons
unknown, not sending the expected key code for Print Screen.
    Cheers... Rick
I have tried to change the Recording keys and came up with
the same results. I will give an example of one thing I want to do
    in IE 7.
I start to record from the desktop, (now captivate works
fine), I open up IE 7 (I hear captivate taking a shot), and I open
up my favorite’s folder and click on a web page. I close IE 7
and stop the recording, and when I go to the storyboard view in
captivate, I only got 2 slides one is of the desktop when I open IE
7 and the other slide show the IE 7 window.
I used the default demonstration options when I did the
    record.
I try to redo the same thing but this time I try to force
some screen shots. When IE 7 is open I press Print Screen (which I
have assigned as the key to capture the screen manually). I
don’t hear the camera sound. When I stop the recording and
got to the storyboard view I still only got 2 slides.
I noticed that when I record from the IE 7 window and make
the IE 7 window inactive, then captivate record as usual.

  • How to Record Internet Stream without loss of Quality

There is a radio station that streams content as AAC, 320 kbps.  If I record this with Audio Hijack, it converts it to aif. Is there a way to record this preserving the ACC format and 320 bitrate?

Well, you can bring it up with Apple since they control this web site and what we can discuss here and not:
