Recording looks strange

When recording in pro 9 the wave forms appear as flashing thick black lines,going back to Zero(even when I'm recording in middle of track),
and then the normal wave forms then back to the black lines....
Any ideas???
The play back is fine ...

Yes, this is normal when a project is already quite heavy on the CPU. The drawing of the waveform is given low priority. Once recording is stopped, all draws normally and plays normally. It is purely that it "looks funny", but nothing is lost. It may be a sign that the project overtaxes the CPU, though. It might be a good idea to freeze all SI tracks before recording, and disable CPU intensive insert plugs such as Space Designer, MultiPressor, AdLimiter etc. You could also freeze audio tracks with CPU heavy insert plugins.

  • [Solved] Openproj looks strange in the awesome WM

    Hi Community,
    I just installed openproj from the AUR. But when I run it in the awesome WM, I found the background of the application looked nearly blank, which made openproj impossible to edit in.
    It looks strange. So, openproj cannot be run from the awesome WM?
    Any idea will be helpful. Thanks.

    Solved:
    Just edit the file /usr/bin/openproj and add a line to be as follows:
    #!/bin/sh
    wmname LG3D
    java -Xms128m -Xmx768m -jar /usr/share/openproj/openproj.jar > /dev/null

    Edit:
    I've found a detailed description from this article: Java GUI application in Awesome Window Manager.
    There is a known problem with Java and the non-reparenting Window Managers like for example Awesome.
    Java applications which use the XToolkit/XAWT backend may draw gray windows only. The XToolkit/XAWT backend breaks ICCCM-compliance in JDK 5 and 6 because it assumes a reparenting window manager.
    There are a number of places where this is described:
        * in the FAQ : GUI Java apps appear as a gray screen!
        * in the wiki Problems with Java
        * in the Man page
    To sum up:
        * it doesn't affect version Java 1.4.2 and before.
        * it doesn't affect version Java 1.7 and hopefully after.
        * the best workaround by far, is to set a name to the Window Manager, so it is recognise by Java as a non-reparenting Window Manager. A simple utility allow to set this name. Just add 'wmname LG3D' to your .xinitrc or simply run it.
        * Here are other workarounds left here for reference:
              o launch another X server, like Xephyr
              o set the following environment variable (to use the older Motif back-end instead): AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit. But this won't work in the following cases :
                    + OpenJDK/IcedTea doesn't include the Motif toolkit.
                    + doesn't work for x86_64 Java, for whatever reason

  • Cpu socket looks strange-can be cause of boot problem?

    Actual question: can cpu socket like on attached picture cause boot problems?
    tinypic.com/r/1pxnxs/6
    (Some pins look strange while I am sure I did not do anything which can cause that)
    (Sorry was not able attach pic, so shared on external site - blame android?)
    I got problem with booting msi g33m motherboard, I tried various ways and was able to boot couple times, but after reboot the problem returns. When disassembly components for nth time, I noticed strange hole in cpu socket, so I wonder if it can be reason for boot problems? Currently fans run in ÷half speed when nothing connected to mb, if I connect gpu or sata drive, fans are pulsing, and led near power button on tower is blinking, but nothing more happens.

     The pin(s) are bent it seems and can be carefully bent back to proper alignment most of the time using tweezers and or tiny jewelers/eyeglass screwdriver.
     Yes the problem you describe can definitely be caused by poor pin contact with the pads on the CPU. Depending on what pins are bent or make poor contact there could be many different kinds of problems. In fact many more on newer ones with memory controller and other controllers in the CPU that used to be in the northbridge chip. If you or a friend, family member can't bend pin(s) back into alignment then possibly you could have a local jeweler or watch repair shop do it for you.

    Hi there,
    I just upgraded my system (about 200 packages) and when I rebooted my Login-Screen looked strange.
    When I logged in the strange screen persisted... Arch told me that Gnome3 couldn't be loaded and

  • [SOLVED] forms looking strange in opera since upgrade to gnome 3.4

    Hi!
    I just upgraded my gnome installation to gnome 3.4 and now I see some strange rendering effects in opera regarding forms.
    First problem is that text fields now have an inner border. This creates a 3D effect but looks kind of strange because the text overlaps this inner border:
    The second (and more severe) problem is that entries of a drop-down menu disappear when they are hovered:
    I searched through gnome's and opera's theme settings but couldn't find any option that could change this behaviour. I also tried removing the .opera directory but it also didn't help.
    Can anyone confirm these problems and has anyone an idea how to fix it?
    Greetings,
    Michael
    PS: The screenshots were taken in this forum (search form) but can be seen on all other websites with standard forms.
    edit:
    fixed in opera 12 build 1406 (currently beta status and only available on AUR)

    ok, this is definately a problem with opera and the new version of Adwaita. If I use the old Adwaita version, that's included in gnome-themes-standard-3.2.1-1, as GTK+ theme both problems are solved. But then other things look weird...
    I reported this to the opera team. A workaround is to set "Dialog Toolkit" to 1 (qt) or 4 (neither gtk nor qt) in opera:config.

  • New Recording Looks for CD Drive

    Hello,
    I just installed Adobe Captivate 2.0 onto my laptop. When I
    try to record a new project, I get an error message stating that
    "there is no disc in drive E:". This is my second license for this
    product, and I had no trouble installing the first onto a similar
    computer. What would cause the software to look for the application
    CD when it is recording, and is there a way to fix this? On my
    first license, I was able to install the software, and use it
    without having the CD in the drive.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris and welcome to our community
    To be honest, yours is the first report I've ever heard of
    this happening. I've installed Captivate on lots of different
    computers and have never encountered this issue. I also don't
    believe I've ever seen it reported here in the forums either.
    Because of that, I'm going to crawl way out here on this
    shaky little limb and say that your case is probably a one off and
    unique.
    Is the laptop configured in any way that is somehow
    different? For example, is it only used to connect to a company
    intranet? If so, maybe something about that setup caused the
    behavior.
    Wishing I had more to offer here... Rick

  • View of PDF file changes or looks strange when opening a file.

    Hi all,
    I have strange problem, that is haunting me.
    A PDF file is created from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 system. I guess that Microsoft have their own pdf-writer-engine.
    From time to time, we have seen that the PDF files, on some computers looks correct, on others gibberish.
    One user has a Win7 machine, 32-bit system. 4gb of memory. Today he opened a PDF file from the AX system. When He opened the file on his desktop., it looked fine. After 5 seconds. The entire view changed to strange signs and letters. I opened the same file on a Win-7, 64 bit machine. Everything looks allrigt.  Both of us have Adobe Reader 11.04 installed. one-two houes after the first error, he opened another PDF file. That started to look like gibberish, and after 5 seconds it looked allright.
    In general we only see these types of errors something like 1 out of a hundred times. Most common is that the view is gibberish from the beginning, and never changes.
    Any idea to solve this, will be much appriciated
    /Hector

    I think this is done by the browser when it is saving a temporary file and there's already a file with that exact name in the temp folder.

    PriivaWeb
    http://priiva.net.

    OK, here is my complete code block for my news section. This
    page is goign
    to be redone, but I would still like to understand why it's
    not working -
    why I'm not correctly resetting a recordset.
    Recordset rsArticle is only populated if gID is sent in the
    url
    Here we see that the rsArticle to be displayed is only shown
    if there is a
    gID:
    <?php if ($totalRows_rsArticle > 0) { // Show if
    recordset not empty
    ?>
    <h2><?php echo $row_rsArticle['newsTitle'];
    ?></h2>
    <p><?php echo $row_rsArticle['newsAuthor'];
    ?><br />
    <?php echo $row_rsArticle['newsDateEdited'];
    ?></p>
    <?php $mc_pic = $row_rsArticle['newsPicture'];
    if ($mc_pic != "") { ?>
    <img class="newsimg"
    src="app/app_get_img.php?image_path=<?php
    echo $mc_pic?>&sz=article" />
    <?php }
    echo $row_rsArticle['newsContent']; ?></p>
    <?php } // Show if recordset not empty ?>
    And here is the code to show if there is no gID:
    <?php if ($totalRows_rsArticle == 0) { // Show if
    recordset empty ?>
    Here is the first DoWhile statement, to repeat all *other*
    records. the
    rsNews Recordset is built using get all articles <>
    gID. If no gID, it
    fetches them all for a full listing, if gID, then it fetches
    only the
    articles NOT displayed by rsArticle. Cool so far, right?
    <?php do { ?>
    <a class="pbutton" href="news.php?cid=<?php echo
    $row_rsNews['newsID']; ?>">Full Story ...</a>
    <h3><?php echo $row_rsNews['newsTitle'];
    ?></h3>
    <?php echo $row_rsNews['newsShortDesc']; ?>
    <?php
    } while ($row_rsNews = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsNews));
    Now here, I'm *attempting* to reset rsNews to the first
    record in the
    recordset, so that I can reuse the recordset for another part
    of the page.
    Again, on this page it's not really necessary, but I have
    other areas of the
    site that this is crucial for me to be able to implement.
    mysql_data_seek($rsNews, 0);
    ?>
    Then it closes out the final If recordset is empty
    <?php } // Show if recordset empty ?>
    The reason I'd rather do this than just create another
    recordset is mostly
    simplicity. If I'm going to create another recordset, then I
    see little
    value in the recordsets - I can just set string variables and
    re-send a SQL
    statement. However, that method leaves the SQL as non DW
    accessible.
    Unless I'm missing something?
    Thanks for taking a look, if you get the chance. If you
    don't, I'm goign to
    keep trying to figure out a way I can do this.
    TIA,
    Jon

  • My app store looks strange

    Hey all,
    A few days ago, I was justing checking my email and received a notification saying that updates needed my approval to install. (nothing out of the ordinary) However, once I opened the Mac App Store, it looked very strange. It took forever to load, which hasn't been an issue up till now, and everything is aligned to the far left side. The best way i can describe it is that it resembled a very basic website but I have no idea why its appearing on my screen this way. I know I didn't do the greatest job explaining my problem, but any advice is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • How to build what a parent child record looked like from audit history

    I've got a simple parent child relationship (eg DEPT/EMP) and I have audit triggers on the 2 tables that log any changes. The 2 tables are seen by the User as 1 entity, so if an EMP record changes, that is essentially a DEPT change. I want to show a record where the info shown is correct at that particular point in time.
    Now for a very crude example to illustrate...
    So, says it's 9:00 and we have:
    Dept 1=Sales
    Emp 1=Clark
    Emp 2=Smith
    Now we change Emp 1 at 9:01 to Smythe
    Next we change Dept 2 at 9:02 to Sales UK
    Next we add Emp 3=Jones at 9:04
    Next we change Emp1 at 9:05 to Clarke
    So now if the User looks at the history of Dept 1 they will see it has changed at the following times:
    9:01 (emp change)
    9:02 (dept change)
    9:04 (emp change)
    9:05 (emp change)
    even though the actual Dept table was only changed once.
    This part is easy enough to extract but the next part I'm struggling to get my head around (must be Friday afternoon!).
    The User wants to be able to view what the "Dept" looked like at the time of the change. So we would get the following results:
    9:00 Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smith (as per original data)
    9:01 Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:02 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:04 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe, Emp 3=Jones
    9:05 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clarke, Emp 2=Smythe, Emp 3=Jones
    I'm trying to write a bit of SQL to do this but the tricky bit comes in due to having 2 different tables that have triggered the change to a "DEPT". I see the output as being as many rows as there are children, so the raw output for the above summary would be along the lines of:
    9:00, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark
    9:00, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 2=Smith
    9:01, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark
    9:01, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:02, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark
    9:02, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:04, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark
    9:04, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:04, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 3=Jones
    9:05, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clarke
    9:05, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:05, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 3=Jones
    Any help appreciated!!
    An alternative to all this is to make my trigger on each table populate this info (ie write whatever is currently in place) into a table structured as I have mentioned above (so Dept i denormalised) but that looks to be a bit messy.

    Two tables, Dept and Emp. Both have audit triggers inserting into it's own audit table.
    create or replace table DEPT(
    dept_no number,
    dept_name varchar2(50),
    dept_city varchar2(50));
    create or replace table EMP(
    emp_no number,
    emp_surname varchar2(100),
    emp_firstname varchar2(50),
    emp_dept_no number);dept_no pk of DEPT
    emp_no pk of EMP
    emp_dept_no FK from EMP to DEPT.dept_no
    create or replace table DEPT_AUDIT(
    dept_no number,
    dept_name varchar2(50),
    dept_city varchar2(50),
    audit_date_time date);
    create or replace table EMP_AUDIT(
    emp_no number,
    emp_surname varchar2(100),
    emp_firstname varchar2(50),
    emp_dept_no number,
    audit_date_time date)
    create or replace trigger dept_audit
    after insert or update
    on dept for each row
    begin
      insert into dept_audit(dept_no, dept_name, dept_city, audit_date_time)
      values(:NEW.dept_no, :NEW.dept_name, :NEW.dept_city, sysdate);
    end;
    create or replace trigger emp_audit
    after insert or update
    on emp for each row
    begin
      insert into emp_audit(emp_no, emp_surname, emp_firstname, emp_dept_no, audit_date_time)
      values(:NEW.emp_no, :NEW.emp_surname, :NEW.emp_firstname, :NEW.emp_dept_no, sysdate);
    end;My above example (ignoring that the columns don't match up but hopefully you get the drift) would end up with the following results in the 2 audit tables:
    DEPT_AUDIT
    9:00 Dept 1=Sales (insert)
    9:02 Dept 1=Sales UK (update)
    EMP_AUDIT
    9:00 Emp 1=Clark (insert)
    9:00 Emp 2=Smith (insert)
    9:01 Emp 2=Smythe (update)
    9:04 Emp 3=Jones (insert)
    9:05 Emp 1=Clarke (update)
    As I said originally, I want to get a view of what the "DEPT" looked like at a particular time and to do this I need to take into account the EMP changes for the DEPT which is why my results would be as follows:
    9:00 Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smith
    9:01 Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:02 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:04 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark, Emp 2=Smythe, Emp 3=Jones
    9:05 Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clarke, Emp 2=Smythe, Emp 3=Jones
    Though what I really want is the rows that make it up like:
    9:00, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark
    9:00, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 2=Smith
    9:01, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 1=Clark
    9:01, Dept 1=Sales, Emp 2=Smythe
    9:02, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 1=Clark
    9:02, Dept 1=Sales UK, Emp 2=Smythe
