That's not a feature of the iPhone. You would have to route your calls through a 3rd party service to do so.

No such feature is built directly into any iPhone. There are some third-party apps in the app store that "claim' to provide this functionality, but all have terrible reviews. Get a Google Voice number & you can record calls.

No. Apps will not have access to the functions necessary to do this either. The jigsaw puzzle of laws surrounding the recording of phone calls probably has a lot to do with it.
Check out Google Voice. You can set up a google voice number and have it forwarded to your phone. You can record incoming calls through Google voice with a keypress. It announces that the call is being recorded. This is required by law in most of the US.

Not natively built into the iPhone. There are some third-party apps that "claim" to provide this functionality, but all have terrible reviews. Your mileage may vary.

  • Recording a phone call

I want to make phone calls and record them. I assume I need Skype to make the call? Is there other/better software?
Once I'm able to make calls, which software do I need to record the conversation?
    Thanks.

For high quality phone recording you need a hybrid coupler, such as
    <http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=PODCAST-HOST>
This gives you a stereo signal, with your voice on one channel and the other person's voice on the other, with separate volume controls. You can use QuickTime Pro to record the signal.

  • Way to record a phone call?

Is there an app or a way to use an iPhone to conduct a phone interview, then use iTunes or (??) to turn it into a podcast?

I don't understand the so-called "legal" issue. If you buy a Nokia E61 or later (Symbian S60) and download the application Call Recorder Pro and then use it on you Nokia to record incoming and outgoing calls while it makes a pip-pip sound all the time, are you, Nokia, Symbian, and the app developer breaking the law?? Are ALL call recorders breaking the law? Where are all the court cases then?
Is it not that all parties should KNOW that a call is being recorded ONLY if the conversation is to hold up as evidence in a court of law? The pip-pip sound (which cannot be switched off) is the mutual indicator that the call is being recorded or a cue to the other party that they should ask "what is that sound?".
I really hoped that OS 3 would have provided this itself or allowed 3rd parties to do this. I miss this function terribly. I used to use this great app (Call Recorder Pro) on my Nokia E61. It is particularly suited for taking lots of details from a call while driving - no need to stop to write down details etc. You can play the call back while driving to absorb or follow content - no need to read an SMS while driving etc. It's fantastic. You can later archive your selected calls to disk. It's also great for recording "promises" or names of people or commitments from service providers/contractors during a conversation. They can hear the pip-pip (or you tell them what that sound is) so they know what they say had better be true and factual. I cannot for the Life of Me understand why Apple can't or won't make this available! What is their case? Why do other manufacturers have it available? IMHO all you got to do is have a disclaimer on Application start-up (like GPS car navigation does), thereby passing legal responsibility on the the user - SIMPLE!
Please give Apple feedback (http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html), so that they are more aware of our thoughts.

  • Recording of phone calls

    Hi,
How can I record a conversation, when I call or get a call?

  • I need help recording phone calls on new iMac

I have long recorded landline phone calls on my old iMac using the microphone jack and audacity.
The new iMac does not have a microphone jack. I have tried a USB microphone adapter from Radio Shack and two different cables from KV Connection, one of which was recommended by an in-store Apple Genius. Nothing has worked.
The phone is connected to a radio shack telephone recording control.
27-inch iMac purchased this month. Running Mavericks.
Everything still works fine on my old iMac, which I have set up again and placed next to the new computer. This is not an ideal set up. I am very disappointed this new computer has less functionality than my old one.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks, Dwoodrn

try an external usb audio card like this

likely comes with better manual and description how you get it to work then some generic usb mic adapter

  • Does Apple have any plan to allow to record phone call?

I have used my iphone 4 for almost 4 years, and I really love iOS because of it's strong function.
But my next cell phone may be the NEXUS, because I really need to a function of recording my phone call.
Why does Apple don't allow recording calls? Is there any plan to allow it?

I think illegal problem is not a good pretext for this matter.
Let's think about how Google deal with this matter.
There are too many people who are using iphone in the world, and there are various law system.
I am a Korean, and it's legal to recording direct phone calls in Korea.
Moreover sometimes recording files would be the best evidence in the court.
    I really want this function.

  • Recording and transcribing audio of a phone call

    Hello,
I am looking for an app that will allow me to record a phone call on my iPhone and then transcribe the audio of this call into a text file. Does anyone know of an app that will do this?
    thanks,
    Tim

You must be in compliance with any state and federal laws if you attempt to do such.
Google voice (USA only) can assist you in this manner https://support.google.com/voice/answer/115082?hl=en
If you're outside the states, try to use an app that does what you need.

Am using a shure sm7b mic into apogee one.  Recording in Garage Band.  Want to include phone calls.  Any way?

There are a number of ways to record a phone call interview. If you are using the new Apogee One for iPad and Mac you have an aditional 1/4inch input alongside the XLR microphone input. You can also utilize an app like ecamm's Skype recorder to digitally record the conversation and import the audio file to your GarageBand sesson after the fact.

  • Deleting individual recent phone calls on iPhone 4

Has anyone found a way to just delete only 1 recent call or do we still have to wipe the whole call history? I can delete individual emails, I can delete individual texts, but why can't I delete any recent call made, or received, or missed from the phone? Instead I have to delete ALL CALLS. Will someone at Apple integrate this into a future update please? Or if I just don't know how to do it please advise me. Thank you.

hi. it is not illegal to record a phone call if you have the permission of the person to whom you are talking. reporters do this all the time as do researchers in the US.
i suspect there are more apps out there for this and that they do a better job than the one you list but perhaps there are other sites for which such an inquiry would be more productive?
i wonder if anyone knows of a good place to post this that might be helpful in getting an answer or if there are other forum participants that have had success with something other than google.
i won't get into why google sees fit to include this functionality but apple does not as again it would be helpful to find a different app that handles this well on the iPhone.
    thanks anyway.
