Recording my voice with an instrumental in the background

hey guys, well what i want to do is, i want to play an instrumental (i have them already..) of a song and i have lyrics too and i want to play the instrumental and start singing the lyrics so basically it will be the instrumental with my voice so basically im singing u know, i dont know how i can record that.. i have both a built in mic in my imac and a seperate USB mic. what program do i use to play the instrumental and record my voice at the same time so i can make a track u kno? nothing profesional im trying to do u kno just want to make a few tracks to show my friends my singing skils Very Happy Wink so please tell me

I agree with David. Try asking in the Garageband Forum or read through the GarageBand tutorials.

I tried both ways and neither works. It gives me a prompt box that I have to click "next" for every page but after going thru all pages, nothing is sent to the printer.
Also, all directions I've read indicate it will print to the default printer. If my default printer is on a network, will that cause problems....
and...
should I be getting a prompt box on every page? I thought all this would happen behind the scenes and not force me to interact with every page.

Start Sound Recocrder
Speak, Sing or may noises
And stop when finish
Save file
To start Sound Recorder
Windows 7: Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorder
Windows 8 & 8.1: Hold down Win key then press Q > Type Sound R in Search box

How can I record a microphone and software instrument at the same time in Garageband 10.0.1? It seems I can record one or the other, but not both at the same time?

I am trying to record a vocal mic and a keyboard (using a software instrument) at the same time using Garageband 10.0.1. It seems that I can't record the mic input and the software instrument at the same time. I can record the mic input by itself, and I can record the software instrument by itself (if I don't have a mic input track created), but I can't record them together.
It seems like this should be an obvious thing to be able to do, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
Can someone help?

Recording audio voice with single microphone but getting stereo output

I am trying to record a voice recording to a video using a Scarlett microphone. I can only record in Mono. How do I get the voice out of both speakers when playing back and/or record on both sides using one microphone?

When converting word doc to pdf, my images with text only show the background color of the text box.

I have a word doc that I am trying to conver to pdf. I have jpegs with text boxes on top of them on one page. It looks great on the screen but after I convert to pdf, the text boxes only have half the text, the first half of the text box is just white - the background color. If I take the background color out of the text box, the text converts over fine but I need the background color.
I have tried many things here on the print settings, standard, high quality print, unchecking the compression on the images. Any help?

When I try to print, I get one page with a header and the background image, another page with the content, and a third page with a footer and background image. How can I make it print properly?

Also, if I print to a .pdf, the background does not show up even if I have the checkbox checked to print background image.

I did not have the HP printer software for Mac OSX installed properly. Once installed the problem went away.

You see this error usually if some libraries (dll's) are missing. To investigate this issue it might help to use the [dependency walker|http://www.dependencywalker.com/] tool on the executable and check for any missing libraries. If you cannot figure it out yourself, please try to post exact comments of what you're doing and complete error messages including ideally version of your RFCSDK.

Recorded midi file with Garageband keyboard-only the beginning of it plays

When i play a recorded midi sound from the jampack with the midi keyboard included (world music instrum.), once the track is recorded, if I start to play it and press stop in the middle of a long note, and press play again, the last part of this note isn't heard. It's no big deal, but for editing it's a pain in the neck because in order to hear the sound I have to go back to the beginning of that same note. Anyone here knows what this can be due to?, Ive checked the garageband help and not much is said about that...

It's not a GB problem, but inherent to midi - the data consists only of "note on" / "note off" events, not continuous information about a key being pressed down. So if you start playing your song after the "note on" event, the program has no way of knowing that the key was pressed earlier. It then just ignores the "note off" event.

Using mainstage with two instruments at the same time

Hi, I'm using an M-Audio firewire solo as an interface with my macbook. I have a usb keyboard and want to play guitar as well, switching between the two onstage. My question is, how do I get the outputs to the soundboard so they can be mixed separately? The interface has two inputs and balanced outputs (ch1 and ch2). I want channel 1 (gtr) to go to ch1 of the output and channel 2 (keys) to go to ch2 of the output so they can be mixed to the front of house and monitor mixes. Is this even possible using mainstage or logic, or even by just using the headphone out on the macbook?

Since MainStage only deals with outputs in stereo. You'll need to do some panning. Pan your Guitar fully LEFT, and your keys fully RIGHT. That'll give you two separate outputs....
FYI, there are some issues with panning in MainStage 2. So, to get around this.... Create two Sub Aux channels. One called Guitar Out, and the other Keys Out. Do your panning there and not on the individual channels. And send channel one to the Guitar Out Aux, and the Keys to Keys Out Aux.

New version FF3.63 causes a faded screen with script running in the background. I understand it may not be entirely compatible with 64bit units. I was perfectly happy with 3.59 and would like to downgrade, is this possible and how?

Record voice with microphone into local file.

I would like to build a small application in AS3 adobe Air so that my users can record their voice with microphone.
I know there is a Microphone class but I don't know if AS3 adobe Air allows to record the voice into a file locally.
Is that possible to do so with AS3 adobe Air?
Do I absolutely need Flash Media Server or is there a way around?

Although, you can accomplish this by using a streaming server I believe. I've not yet experiemented with just audio recording, but I have with video/audio recording and that works just fine.
