Recording on GarageBand goes crackly after 30 seconds?

I have started using a studio projects microphone called an LSM (USB) with GarageBand and after 30 seconds recording the audio goes crackly and distorted until I re-start GB, thought it was cause by to much power consumption from the USB mic so I tried a HP USB 2.0 powered hub but still no joy!!
Can anyone help?

If you have reset by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears and that doesn't help, try closing the app completely, then reboot the iPad. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider deleting the app and download it again. Backup your iPad with iCloud or iTunes and sync with iTunes if you delete the app so that you can restore the PDF files and books to the device.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You might have a PDF file that is corrupt and it might be causing this and if that's the problem, you will ultimately have to track down which file it is and delete it or this may never get resolved. That is probably unlikely, but it is a possibility nonetheless.

IPhone goes black after 5 seconds

My iPhone 4s, when I hit the round button, my screen goes black after 5 seconds. Not sure why, I dont have any timeouts in the settings set to 5 seconds that I can tell, the only one i have is the lock, but that's at 5 minutes. but its pretty consistent if the screen is black, then i hit the round button and it's sitting at the screen to swipe to unlock, if i dont do anything for 5 seconds, it goes black again.
It will also go black randomly while the phone is unlocked and in use. any ideas? Can't imagine 5 seconds is the default idle time for it to go black, that's pretty fast!!

Your iPhone has suffered damage and will need to be take or sent to Apple for replacement. If you have AppleCare+ coverage, the cost wll be $79 US. If you don't, the cost (if memory serves) will be $269.

My phone goes off after 20 seconds of restart. I have remove both battery and sim serval times but it keeps going off after 20-30 seconds of normal start and display. I noticed if I plug it to charge after removing and fixing the battery, it stays on till the charger is unpluged. What can I do to stop it from going off?

6288 - screen goes dark after 15 seconds

Hi
Have just purchased a 6288. Screen goes dark after 10 - 15 seconds if you don't touch the keypad - very annoying if reading a message. Have turned Power saver and sleep mode off, but screen still goes dark. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing this?

Yes it is quite annoying. The screen saver time out does little to remedy this. A way around it that I use is to reassign the navikeys. you can dictate what each button does :go to menu > settings > my shortcuts > navigation key. my up goes to contacts, left goes to new message, right goes to music player and down does nothing. so every time the screen goes black, I just hit the down key to turn it back on.

Hp2010i Monitor goes black after a second or two

When I power on my desktop the monitor comes on for a second or two and then the screen goes black. I tried powering off the monitor and then back on and it goes black again after a second or two. I've checked all cables and connections and powered the complete system off for several minutes. The computer itself is setting up properly -it's just the monitor giving me problems. Suggestions?

T41 screen goes dark after one second while powering up

T41 2379-DKU running XP Pro. I power on the machine, the screen lights up with the logo for a second and goes totally dark, but I can still very dimly see the logo on the screen with room lighting.
I replaced the motherboard a year ago for the "flex" failure. Was working fine prior to this, no pink in whites, clear, accurate color rendition. What is broken? Inverter? Backlight?, none of the above?

Timeline Video Layer goes blank after 4 seconds! PLEASE HELP

I'm trying to create a time-lapse video using Photoshop CC.
I follow the steps presented in this tutorial:

I have done this before successfully, but now when I bring the Video Layer from File onto Timeline, Photoshop only plays 4 seconds and 2 frames of the footage (stills); the rest of the sequence is blank. I tried exporting and the same issue persists. I did not have this problem before. I'm using TIFF files as before.
Please tell me how I can bypass this issue. I have tried importing the footage (stills) which are after the 4 second mark ON THEIR OWN (starting my import selection from a later point in the timee-lapse sequence), and the files open and play well. It is as if there is a 4 second and 2 frames limit set on the timeline.

Time Machine light goes dark after 20 seconds with power?

Mac can't find my own network with TM. The TM seems to be plugged in, but no lights.
I pull the electric plug, wait ten seconds and try again. Yellow light is normal for 20 seconds, or so, then goes dark.
My TM is about 4 years old. Do they just die without a whimper?

Unfortunately, most Time Capsules do not live beyond 3 years of age.
You might want to consider having the Time Capsule repaired. Apple will not do this for you, but there are some servicers who can. Check the link for Time Capsule Repairers in the document below provided by forum expert LaPastenague.
A local shop might be able to do the repair as well using the information in the link.

Please help - my N82 realplayer goes blank after 3...

now i know that the N82 may be considered a dated model by todays standards, but bear with me because i finally got one (and a used one at that too). two weeks into owning it and i love it already.
the firmware says:

i've spent days checking out available add-ons, installing and uninstalling them (also hugely due to the advice i only discovered about installing to the phone memory for better performance). so i've pretty much got it up to the kind of phone i can be proud to carry around.
i face one problem - realplayer goes blank after 3 seconds of playing any video.
i did all these:
- dragged and dropped videos from my pc to phone storage (My Videos)
- copied videos to phone memory (My Videos also)
- converted the videos to mp4, and also 3gp using xilisoft converter before transferring
- tried using Nokia Nseries Video Manager. gave up because it was so user-unfriendly. i could only copy back to pc; i could not find any way to convert and transfer to phone in there
none of these could make realplayer play videos past 3 seconds. i could hear audio though.
the strange thing is realplayer plays when i click on a video in file manager. it does not auto rotate to landscape mode, and does not play more than the file i click on.
can someone help me? sorry i had to post here. i googled for answers, saw a lot of posts from n95 users saying the same thing but didn't see any solution posted. i could not find anything in the boards here either. i would much rather fix this single issue than to perform an update for fear of losing everything i have done in my phone so far.

Thank you guys for all your solutions. Problem solved on my own (again).
Despite being smartphones, Nokia phones (well, mine anyway) behave erratically when loaded with applications and games, but most expecially with too many themes onboard.
Install one theme too many and you'll start seeing how badly the N82 copes with performing as it did out of the box.
I've had these few nagging issues, which I solved on my own without having to resort to a soft reset or a hard reset or a firmware update or a reformat like everyone suggests without thinking, THANKFULLY.
1. Realplayer doesn't display video in landscape mode
- Bring the number of installed 3rd party themes down to a minimum
- start uninstalling applications, beginning from the most recent one, and check realplayer each time.
2. Multimedia button won't bring up Gallery
- Bring the number of installed 3rd party themes down to a minimum
- Restart phone and see if it does the second time around
- Uninstall the most recent application/s and check again
3. "Help" is not accessible from the menu. It says "Memory full" every time
- Bring the number of installed 3rd party themes down to a minimum
- Start uninstalling applications again, and recheck.
4. Camera recording works fine for 10 seconds, then it stutters every 5 seconds
- If you are using a new memory card like I did, just perform a format from the phone and not the computer before using it. I used it without formatting it so it was my fault.
(but I cannot believe I had to find this solution outside the Nokia boards)
Do I hate my N82? No, I love it.
Do I hate encountering problems on my phone? Of course I do.
It's a great phone, capable of delivering more than other phones if you exploit it like I do, but I wish the developers have the decency to put up a list of common problems and fixes for the phones they roll out, not leave it the hands of discussion board "wizards" and "gurus" to solve your mistakes.

Ibook remote vga monitors switching off after 30 seconds. (EMERGENCY)

I run teleprompter for a major band. I use two white dual usb ibooks as they will run OS9. The only real pro prompter application for the mac never made it successfully to os X (accuprompt). I use two mini VGA to VGA adapters and run 100 ft of VGA cable to two VGA monitors. For no reason I can think of one day the monitors started going blank after 30 seconds as if they were going to sleep. The machines are set to NEVER sleep as are the displays, for battery AND power adapter use. I get a message on the monitors saying "not in optimum mode" and I usually just pressed the auto adjust button on the samsung (syncmaster 730B) flat screen and it would work fine. Now they both shut off after 30 seconds with no indication on the laptop displays. I swapped out the monitor and it was the same. I swapped out the computers with (sick) older ones and they worked. Apparently something changed on the computers........ at the same time. Puzzling......
I deleted the entire preferences folder. Rebuilt desktop, reset nvram and such in open firmware. It is not application based as the desktop disappears from the remote samsungs as well. What could be causing this.... what am I overlooking.... I'm wracking my brain..

Just flex the connections; it would probably be pretty obvious if something's starting to break. There might also be corrosion or dirt in the iBook's video connector that could cause a problem, though I wouldn't think the symptoms would be the monitors going to sleep, but it's possible; different monitors react differently to signal loss.

Even with those power conditioners, it might still be possible to be picking up ground loops in the video feed unless you're tying the entire electrical system, stage and offstage, into a single high-quality ground point. Using a passive hum suppressor transformer or wideband isolation transformer on the VGA feeds might be helpful. The Gefen units I mentioned should also break any ground loops that might be present. For additional information on video ground loops, this site may be helpful (though you may already know all this already).

Slides go blank after 1 second

I've created slides in PowerPoint 2010 and imported to Captivate 6. I've added the audio narration in Captivate. Everything appears to be fine, but as I attempt to view the slides from the timeline, each slide goes blank after 1 second while the audio continues. It displays correctly when I preview in the web browser, just not in the timeline preview. It's workable but a nuisance when trying to adjust timings and placement of caption boxes, etc.
I've checked the slide length in Captivate and the slide transitions in PowerPoint... no clue why the slides "disappear" after one second... Any ideas??

There is a small trick ( ahit and trial method) you can perform.
Let's take an example that there are 20 slides in your Powerpoint presentation. Import first 5 slides in Captivate and then preview/publish the project. If the project play fine, then continue with the next 5 slides. Then preview/publish this 10 slides project. If the project play fine, then continue to add the next 5.
At some stage, if you will find out that the project is again showing the same behavior which it was showing before, then try to eliminate slides from Captivate 1 by 1 from the bottom and you will be able to rectify the odd slide which is causing this issue.
Say, slide 15 is causing this issue. So if you import 19 slides out of 20 excluding slide number 15, then the project willplay fine.

In GarageBand '08 after 2 seconds the recording volume fades to a low level

When I record the volume fades in... It goes to recording just fine then within two seconds it fades to low volume!!!??? I havnt touched any settings it worked fine when i first got it! Then all of the sudden i go to record and it does this... it did the same thing on my last comp last year , i took it in for a repair and asked the mac genius he did something and it worked fine again...
didnt know what he did..i thought it was push the follow project tempo button, (tried this it doesnt work?) Has anyone had this problem?

Try this...
Go to "System Preferences" and select "Sound" under the "Hardware" panel. Select "Input" on the bar and in the "Internal microphone" section, un-click the box on the "Use Ambient Noise Reduction" area. This fixed the problem with the sound "fading out" after 2 seconds on a record.
