Recording on Zen Visio

Hi People
I'm thinking about upgrading to a VisionM from ZenMicro...
my first question is this: I heard that you can only record for 0 minutes on the VisionM. Is that the case. because i'll mostly use this player for recording the class. I can use the micro for workouts and stuff..
and my other question is about the headphone jack problem
I've owned a ZenXtra,MuvoTX FM,ZenMicro 5GB, ZenMicro 6GB... an guess what ALL of them had the headphone jack problem in a couple of weeks...
Did anybody encounter the headphone jack problem on the VisionM yet?
I think creative should mainly work on the headphone jack problem rahter than any other new mp3 player.
Well thats all I have to ask. Thanx In advance

well 0 hours should be just about enough for one lecture ...
I hope I won't need it all for just one lecture anyway...
thanx for the quick answers...
actually I changed my ZenMicro for 6 times through warranty... the thing is the only reason I upgrade from one creative to another is the headphone jack problem... I don't want to use Ipoo, and Iri'ver's are extremely expensi've where I used to li've...
The point is I wrecked like more than 0 headphone jacks in 3 years... not impressi've...
the most frustating thing is the Ipoo's jack just WONT DIE!!!!!
whatever I did..
How hard can it be for Creative Techs to Buy an Ipoo and see what's the magic with the jack?

  • Touch pad problem on Zen Visio

I have a Creative Zen Vision: M with a broken touch pad. I already did a research on this forum about how to fix it and none that works for me. I mean, first the tap touch is fine but up/down scrolling is not working. Then up/down scrolling comes back but tap touch stops working. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem. There is any other way to fix it's By the way, my Zen already out of the warranty period.
Is there anyway to just set it as a USB without using tap touch to set it's

Why not replace the part? Instructional video link also on the page? http://www.thegadgetdr.com/Zen-Visio...hpad-black.htm

  • Recording from Vinyl Tapes to Zen Visio

1 ) Is it possible to transfer music directly from my Vinyl Cassettes to Zen Vision M (60GB)?
    2) Can I use External mic for voice recording instead of inbuilt mic?
Any special accessories required for the above tasks and their availability (Creative or otherwise)
    R D SAMANT

You will need a digital audio player with a line in to be able to record from tape or from vinyl or any other external source. Vision M does not have this. Ditto for an external mic.
The JB and JB3 have line in capability. JB3 is still a favorite of the taping community.
I also use one in my turntable setup, recording to it from an amp output. This is a VERY convenient way of digitizing my old vinyl.

  • TV or hard disk recorder to Zen Na

Is there a way or cable to connect my Zen Nano to TV or Hard disk recorder via the line in for recording to the Nano?

Has the Nano a line-in connector - I thought it was the Nano Plus (and the N200) with the line-in.
If you just have the Nano then this won't be possible.

  • Some questions on Zen Visio

    Hi
I'm considering to buy Creative's Zen Vision:M. Before that however, I've some questions.
    Power Adapter
. Does it come bundled with the power adapter? If not, how much does it cost. The website doesn't seem to state this.
    Battery Life
    2. It's rated to have a battery life of up to 4 hrs playtime (MP3, 28kbps, 4mins/ song)and up to 8 hrs playtime (WMA, 64kbps, 4mins/ song). Does it mean then that converting all my music to MP3 will be best? Since it allows me to play better quality music at a high bit rate and consumes less battery.
    FM Recording
    3. How can I use this player to record FM? Do I need an additional devices. Or can I use this player to record directly from the FM?
    4. Also, can I pause the FM recording and voice recording and restart it again after a while?
    5. Can I schedule the FM recorder to start recording at a scheduled time?
    Video Watching
    6. Can I fast forward or rewind my videos to a specific scene?
    7. Lastly, is watching videos on the zen vision: m straining on the eyes? let's say if you watch it for or 2 hours.
    Thanks.

    Hi
My zen vision:m didnt come with a power adaptor but just look at the website when buying-they should say if it comes with one or not, also generally i found when buying mine that without it costs around ?60 and with ?90 that should give you an indication.
Cant help you with the battery life though except that i've never had a problem with mine (lasts a good few days anyway)
Fm recording (although i've only used it once) is great, you dont need any additional devices and i think it lasts a maximum of 0hours. I havent tried pausing recording but i think you can. I dont think you can schedule it (i may be wrong though)
Videos can be fast frwarded, you can set a playback speed and change the size to fit the screen which means you can watch a video comfortably on it. Although i havent tried watching a full length film on it i dont think it would hurt your eyes but like i say i havent tried!
hope that helped (at least a bit)

  • Whats stoping me from buying Zen Visio

I currently own a zen sleek which is fab and all but I really want something with video support. I would buy the vision:M but here are a few reasons that are holding me back:
. No gapless playback.( lots of my music fades into eachother Like linkin park's meteora)
    2. No user Removable battery. I'd love to carry an extra battery to have like 0+ hours of video on the go. Ya know I find myself away from an outlet very often and hate it when my sleek runs out of battery. A removable battery would make me buy this device in a heartbeat.
    3. No "geek" audio formats. (really doesn't bother me but it would be nice to load up some FLAC or OGG files since they sound better than mp3.
4.Not enough space. (yeah they just released a 60gb version, but I'd like to see atleast 80gb-00gb. So what if the price has to be higher. I've seen the zen xtras on ebay and the 60gb sells more than the 30gb or 40gb. People want lots of space. There are some people with like 900 complete albums they want t rip on the device in high quality. What If they want video and pictures too? Won't be able to fit much after all that music i'll tell you that.
I think Creative should "reinvent" the vision:m. This is a war against IPOD and ZUNE. I think Creative needs these changes to satisfy the average joe and the geek.
Whos with me?Message Edited by TheBlackParade on 0-7-2006 06:26 PM

i'd get one too.. or a vision:w if not for the lack of ogg and flac format support... along with the smallish storage space.
as it is, i'm looking towards something else as creatives attempts here... along with cutting off FM recording... brings to mind 2 words.

  • Recording on Zen Mi

I can successfully record sounds on my zen micro, but I can't save the sounds, so as soon as I exit the recording option, I've lost the information. How can I save it's?

You can't just hit the exit button you have to tell it to stop before you exit so the buffer can catch up with the IO write. try pause then the menu. You can then rename the file

I believe, you have VISO Premium 2010 installed on your machine.therefore, you are not able to open your .vsd files or you might have issue in your IE. try out below mentioned options
    1. Re-install viso viewer 2010 and restart the machine

  • Line in recording on Zen

Hello, did anyone have any issues recording through line in on Zen V?Go to extras ->line in recoding press on rec. begins to record fine, shows the levels going up and down and on the screen. click on rec again says sayving. When i go to tarnsfer files nothing appears to be saved in my recordings folder. Also is there anyway to change a default 28 Kbs rec quality to a higher one?Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have the line in going into the correct jack, the 3/32 mini jack and not the /8 headphone jack right? Some people have mistakingly plugged the line in into the headphone jack thinking that is how they recorded.

  • Voice Recording Issue - Zen Micro

    Hello,
I have the 5Gb version of the Zen Micro and I'm running it with version ..0 of the software. I'm a Uni'versity student and I use the device for recording lectures. It records properly but I like to off load the files to my main computer and sometimes I'll share them with absent classmates.
I've had this device for over a year now and I'm usually able to drag and drop the files using the Creative MediaSource Organizer version 3.30.2. In the past this has NOT been a huge issue because if the drag and drop fails to copy the file, or if it errors out when copying, I usually just reboot the player and try again.
Sometimes it takes awhile but I've only NOT been able to get file off of the device. To give you some idea of how much I use it, I'm in either 4-5 classes a semester and I tape almost all of them. Like I said...in the past year that I've had it, I have only had file that I couldn't copy off the player.
Today, I tried to copy recordings over but nothing is working. I know the files on the player are OK because I listented to the one that was erroring and it's there, I just can't get it off the player. A classmate needs these copies but I can't get them to him becuase of these errors. NOTHING works. I've tried dragging and droping, synching even following the links when it errored and Microsoft told me to come here for updates.
I should also add that I've tried copying many different files off of the device today...not just the first one on the list and nothing will copy.
I have ALLL the updates installed and still no copying. What can I do? Am I outta luck?Message Edited by John-OKC5 on 09-9-2006 09:20 PM

Like I mentioned in my first post, it has ALWAYS been a problem getting the recordings off the device. It's never just worked, like soo many other devices do.
Next, it was only in the past 3-4 months that the marginally working methods completly failed me. However, during the WHOLE time I've had the device, I've always had my FW and VS software up and running. So I was able to copy files off the device but it was problematic. However, nothing has changed in the past 3-4 months except what used to partially work...no longer works or is limping along. Rolling back is not an option because there is no point in time where it worked w/o failing.
Finally, Creative devolopers can always be of help because they are familiar with how their products work. They may not guarantee no conflicts and in all honesty I'm not saying they should. However, they should be acti've in this forum to help resolve issues....but in the threads I've seen...no developers.
Oh and when I told Windows to send the error report, it came back with a message that the creative developers have a fix for the problem. However, when I click on the link it takes me to the patch for the device and/or the newest version of creative media source. BOTH OF WHICH I ALREADY HAVE.....so really, they don't have a solution for the problem.Message Edited by John-OKC5 on 09-2-2006 0:53 PM

  • Recording with Zen V P

I am interested to get a Zen v plus. But I would like to know
    a) Whether its Line-in can record with an external microphone (without an amp)? What's its maximum single (without split) recording-time if it is on 60 Kbps? (say on a Gb zen v version)
    b) Is it true that its voice recording feature can "captures audio in WAV format at only 8 kHz"? Again, what's its maximum recording time if of this format?
    cheers

I tried rercording with an external mic via line-in and it did not pick up anything. An amp is definately needed.

  • Voice recording on zen stone 1

hi - is it possible to make voice notes on the stone (st gen without screen) - thought i read somewhere that stone could do this, but might just be new gen 2 one? :/? ta

Which Zen are you referring to If it's the first generation Zen player then yes it will need the FM wired remote to provide FM radio and voice recording as the player does not have inbuilt microphone to do the task but this Zen player does not have 60GB capacity unless you are referring to the Zen Xtra player. For the Zen Xtra player, it does not support the FM wired remote and thus no option for voice recording.
The current Zen Micro player should be what you need as it have inbuilt microphone and FM radio so you do not need to purchase additional accessory but the highest capacity available are at 6GB and not 60GB though.

  • FM recording in Zen V P

What can you tell me about this feature?
Was it in the old firmwares?
I know the situation with Creative Zen Vision:M ? radio recording feature presented in the old firmwares but it was deleted in the new one.

Your own site describes the V Plus record button as working with the FM Tuner. Checkout the following I copied:<font face="Verdana" size="" color="#000065">ZEN V Plus and ZEN V players at a glance

  • Lin-in recording on Zen Photo

I want to know if the Zen Micro Photo will allow line-in recording from an exterior source .

    Colin,
I'm afraid not. The Zen Micro Photo player does not have a Line In jack unlike player like the Zen Neeon.

  • RMA Time - Creative Zen Visio

Its been 8 days since they recieved my Creative Zen Vision:M, they accepted the RMA due to cosmetic damage (before you say, it came scratched and after a few days it got alot worse) and its still on the testing for fault part. Come on, it doesnt take 8 days to test a cosmetic problem. It was sent as high priority and im finding the service really slow.Message Edited by thrice2 on 03-03-200607:4 PM

For some reason, they recieved my Vision:M on the 7th and they have determined it to have a hardware problem. However, nothing since then has been done. No replacement has been sent, no contact, no?change in the RMA page,?no nothing. When I contacted customer service they tell me the same BS over and over but dont answer my question: "There is an approximate 0-5 day turnaround from the day we recieve your product." I know that already and its been told to me over a million times, I just want them to keep me posted on what the hell is going on! And for the record it has been?20 days and still no update.
