Recording Radio on Mac

Can anyone tell me how to record a radio programme on my mac?
I would usually do this on my Humax PVR, but I forgot to set it in time. The programme is available online for the next seven days, on BBC's Listen Again service. It is not available as a podcast, so it can't be downloaded.
The only way I can think of, is to use a cassette recorder, with a built-in microphone, as close as possible to the mac, but that seems rather clumsy and, anyway, I would really prefer to have the programme on disc, not cassette.
So is there a neater way of doing this?
TIA

As indicated by Malcolm Rayfield above, Audio Hijack is the way to do what you want. You can either use Audio Hijack Pro as he links to at $32 or a simpler version Audio Hijack at $16 http://versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16382
Browse the links yourself to see the difference. Both can record for burning to a CD or any other recording device. Realplayer as mentioned by the last poster is not a recording device, simply broadcasting.
I myself use Audio Hijack Pro along with an editing device Fission by the same company which means you can record programmes and edit out applause or links etc. I would strongly recommend the Audio Hijack series, superb recording and extremely easy to use to record anything at all, radio, record player, cassette, whatever that can pass sound through your computer.

You're setting up internal DNS services, you referenced your ISP DNS servers and you should not have, and now those servers have no translations for your hosts. This is a common misconfiguration.
See [configuring DNS on Mac OS X Server|http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1436] for how to set up your internal DNS server.
And if there are any references to your ISP DNS servers here (within your client settings, within your server settings, your Airport settings, etc), then you're usually going to have DNS and connectivity problems. You're running a server now, so you'll be running your own services, and (particularly because of NAT here) referencing only your own DNS server(s).
You may be setting up external DNS (if and when you need that), but that should happen after you set up your internal DNS. The above article has a link to setting up external DNS, when you get around to that, if/when you need in-bound connections into your LAN.

  • Recording Radio on my iPod

I know there are a number of accessories that allow me to listen to radio on my iPod. But can i record radio too??

I have never heard of any accesories that will do this. I've heard of a couple (e.g. Griffin Shark) that will record to your computer.

  • Is there any way I can find out the service record on this mac ?

I purchased a used QS from an authorized apple dealer at their after boxing day sales event. This QS is extremely quite compared to my polar express MDD.
Is there any way I can find out the service record on this mac ?
Somewhere away back when I heard that by knowing the serial number the details of the service record on the given mac could be found. However in those days I only bought new. These days with mac's inability to run applications that require the for real OS 9 ( not classic ) I have to scour the used market. I have some high end audio midi programmes ( for example emagic, cubase VST score ) that do the job and sometimes better then then the OS X versions.

    Hello,
You can use System.getProperty("SAPSYSTEMNAME"); in your UDF as specified in this thread.
Get name of XI System in mapping
    Hope this helps,

  • Best Screen Recording Software for Mac?

Looking for recommendations on a good computer screen recording program, as I'm trying to make a tutorial video, and need to be able to record what I am doing on my computer screen.
Would prefer free, but don't mind paying a bit - quality is most important. Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

    without doubt - Screenflow
    why ?
because, it is not only a 'grabber', but it includes an 'editor', drop-dead-simple as iMovie, which includes many features ESPECIALLY made for tutorials - e.g. you can zoom-in after recording without quality-loss, you can change cursor-size, highlite, 'print' pressed keys on screen, add a pic-in-pic (if you like your face in your tuts ) ..
    side-note: screen-grabs are off the standards, iM or FinalCut/express support! so, a built-in editor is a ++ ! (the exports/uploads from a SF-project are superb!)
not cheap, but worth every cent!

  • WVC80N recording on a MAC

Can someone please tell me how to record on my MAC. I have the camera connected wirelessly. I can not find a utility on the CD that came with the camera. It is sold as compatible with a MAC but I can not record. Only using Quicktime to record screen which is not good.
    Thanks
    for any help
    Paul

What do you mean by "It is sold as compatible with a MAC but I can not record. Only using Quicktime to record screen which is not good"?
Are you trying to schedule, so that it can record video at a given time? If yes, then what settings you have set on your Camera as well as on the Camera Utility? If you can post the screenshot of the settings which you made on your camera as well as on the Utility.

  • Recording on I Mac

Hoe kan ik zelf een instrument (baritonsax in mijn geval) opnemen in Garageband. Moet je dan een microfoon aansluiten of wat?
    Ries van Dorst

You can record through the Mac's internal microphone: create a real instrument track, hit record, and blow away.
If you're not happy with the sound quality in the long run, you need a microphone - either a USB one or one that connects through an audio interface or a mixing console.

  • Where can I find and include the "record" radio buttons in Logic 9?

Ok, I feel like a real dummy but for some reason when I installed the Logic 9 upgrade (upgraded from Logic 8) all the "record" radio buttons on the audio channel strips were missing. (They are there on the instrument channel strips.) Can anyone tell me how to get them back? I checked all the preferences I could find but somehow I'm not finding the one that will get me back my "record" radio buttons.
    Help!
    Mark

They should be there on both. Only frozen SI tracks loose theirs (obviously), but my question earlier is irrelevant: even with no input selected there still ought to be a record button on the track header.
OP: have you looked at the configuration of the track header? ctrl-click in it to find out.

  • Is there a way to record sound from mac ????

using a mbp with snowleopard ... can I record mac output ?
Using microphone is ridicolus and let a lot of noise
Using soundflower I could not hear nothing while recording.
I nedd to hear and record sound outup from my mac like I did on windows... Is it possible without installing 3rd party software ?
    And with 3rd softwares ?

I've tried both suggested software but I think I was not so clear.
I need to use sound from mac as an input while I could hear it.
I do not need a software that record sound from mac.
For example... if on windows i set input "wave out mix" instead of "microphone" I could use system sound as input... for example record a lot of error message's sound (PING!) with quicktime pro...
I would do the same thing with macosx...
I am surprised that such a simple thing could not be done with this OS but now I am looking for a 3rd party software that could solve this problem...
Both Audacity and Wiretap can record sound... but not let select me system sound as input.
I need to select system sound as input in order to record it (while I hear it) with every software I want to use... QT pro for example...
    Is this so difficult?

  • I record radio programs

I record radio programmes off the internet and identify them by their Series and Episode numbers (AAC & MP3 files). Until now I have used the Album Artist tag to record the Series numbers. I now notice there is a Series tag but I cannot see how to use it. Also I am finding that my files are now being lodged in my iTune folder in 'Series' subfolders rather than the Radio show folders that I set up. Any thoughts? I am running iTunes ver 11.0.4.4 on a PC with Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit).

You have various options, depending on your needs and the source you want to record, for instance,
    - Audio Hijack Pro (or its cheaper cousin Piezo);
    - WireTap;
    - iRecordMusic;
In terms of free apps, you can try VLC (which won't work with certain streams, eg, BBC), iMagneto, or the audio editor Audacity in conjunction with a tool like Soundflower.
You can probably find a few more options if you google it, but I'd say these are the main ones.

  • Recording radio automatically

    Hello
I uses MSI MEGA 651 that is very cool machine.
I have one question, I appreciate your help on the matters
I 'm now recording radio program by a freeware named lockonMT. It's working well, and this software has a function recording radio program by reservation and changing file format wave to mp3 automatically. So once the software is set, many radio programs can be saved as mp3 files.
But I must wake up midnight to change a channel of MSI RADIO manually. Is it possible to change Radio Channle of MSI Radio by any program, i.e windows script? Please tell me how to change a channel.
    Thanks for your help

The barriers to most of your wants and suggestions deal with who would use these features. Obviously they mean something to you, but some I have no interest in.
IR for remote has been debated and available on many other phones for years like Windows Mobile, but it lacked practicallity... "Please hold while i change channels" - They finally removed IR from WinMo devices as it wasn't used much. It was usually too weak to make a good remote. Electronics are even looking for newer more robust (low power) 2-way protocols and will probably drop IR in the next 5 years.
Switching wireless on while charging, is relevent if you have wireless, but I have great 3g coverage, so i almost never use WiFi. I leave 3G on all the time as well.
Pin instead of password is a security issue when your CC is on file.
Other features are do-able - separate volume and customizable tones for different things, but for some reason Apple has not implemented them.
Most features take time to implement and the evaluation of how many people would use them. They still want to keep the interface from being overly confusing.
